Your cash register personal, always slow took me 30 minutes to get to the cashier that was totally out of energy and looked like she is fallen a sleep, the line kept getting longer and NO ONE came to help. Finally walking towards the exit the person at the information desk was on his phone and never approached to help. This is my favorite grocery store! Selections seems to be pretty similar to other stores. Service has always been great. Prices are competitive to other stores too. I love coming here to look at the cheese selection. The cheese lady is super nice! You can tell she really enjoys what she does and she's always willing to give you a sample of what you choose before you buy it! read more

I'm really on the boarder of giving only 3 stars, because I really feel they lack in two key areas: price and selection. It's a competitive business, the grocery world; I'm aware of that. It's also a very expensive corridor, the Maple Lawn area. I'm not blind to the likely high rent this place probably has to fork over monthly. But, this doesn't excuse the selection, nor the gouging on certain items. Oh, it's not everything, just one or two key items that you just happen to be searching for that day. But, enough about the negatives. The reason this still gets a star back is for all the good parts to see here. First, the quality. From the produce to the meats to everything in between, I've never had an issue with the items I purchase here. Second, the service. Man, the service. It's really great. There's this woman who works at the sandwich counter (I usually go here for lunch), and she is the friendliest, nicest person you could meet. She's always a great conversationalist, and she makes a mean sandwich to boot! But, enough about my stomach (and way to my heart). The rest of the staff are pretty great, too. Always helpful, always friendly, I've never had a bad staff experience. They win for location and convenience, so that's pretty much all I really need out of a work-local grocery store. Their lunch items are spot on (try the sushi!), with more reasonable prices than the rest of their groceries. So, it certainly fits my needs. Definitely worth checking out. If you can find a great sale on something you need, then you're in luck. If not, it's still a great spot for a quick lunch. read more

Loved this location. Super clean, well stocked, great variety, organized with friendly team members. They had a large selection of organic fruits and vegetables which was awesome. Seafood and meat offerings were fresh and plentiful. Picked up some large tiger shrimp and salmon in addition to fresh veggies. Located in Maple Lawn Shopping Center there was plenty of parking. There is also a pharmacy and a Starbucks in the grocery store. The bakery section was really bare though which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 but otherwise, would highly recommend. read more

Terrible management. They don't know how to assign employees in the places they need to be. When there is a huge line in the checkout, they'll have only one or two registers open and a bunch of other employees stocking instead of pulling them to the registers to help the lines go down. I've never even seen the store manager and I'm there pretty often. We get the 5 gallon deer park water bottles from there and it always seems to be out of stock. Foodlion down the street has much better employees and management but they don't carry all the items that Harris teeter has. read more

A good grocery store with good prices. I stopped into this Harris Teeter on my way into work just to grab some water and snacks for my night shift. I have been here before and the prices are very competitive. I like the stores layout it's very easy to find everything that you need. Every time I have, it has been very clean they enforce the mask wearing policy and encourage social distancing. We have markings at all of the checkout lanes 6 feet apart so you know how far to stay away from the person in front of you. I didn't really stay in the store long but my shopping experience was a good one.I noticed that a lot of people were doing the curbside pick up option. It seems like it would be very convenient I will have to give it a try one day. read more

Really? This morning they posted a sign that they "strongly" suggest that everyone wear a mask regardless of vaccination status... And regardless of the fact that the Gov has said there is no evidence that is is needed if you are vaccinated. Do you strongly suggest that I eat my veggies, go to bed early? Yes, the prices are high but the quality is what I enjoy. There is a store closer to my location, however, I prefer this store by habit perhaps. Today the seafood specialist and self checkout associate on my visit inspired this review. I had a list of 5...yes FIVE items to get...that never happens. Produce items, the fresh collards weren't available...ended up with packaged but the fresh is really good when available. On to seafood. What a display(I wish I took pics). Everything looked so fresh. I went for mussels and also ended up with oysters. The gentleman in seafood was amazing...he took the time to make sure the best was received. Every single oyster was alive and fresh upon shuck and the mussels...no complaints and I hope to see him soon. This store also has items and brands you may not find nearby. Also, thanks to the self checkout associate..I have never needed assistance at the self checkout so much. He helped clear my issues 4 or more times...and was so pleasant. I just stopped at the sushi bar for california rolls, and they were $5.29 for 10 good sized rolls. The sushi chef was super nice and smiled at me, offering to make a fresh roll, and even came outside to point out the selections to me. The rice was not too thick, and actually tasted pretty clean and nicely flavored, and the insides were pretty generous, with quality crabstick, big avocado pieces, and sufficient cucumber. I didn't even need soy sauce & wasabi before I ate it all up on the drive home! Anyways, this is just the review for california roll at Harris Teeter, which I thought was a decent deal if you just wanted something quick instead of dining in at Sushi Tendou across the street. read more

What am I doing in Fulton, MD? Well, I wanted to go to HT's, and since I was at my client's home I remembered Deborah N. mentioned this location was nearby. It's way out there from DC and a tad confusing with all the round abouts only because I couldn't see the store in the distance. Finally found it! It stands out like a mirage in a desert. It's huge from the outside, and bright and clean on the inside. I like when you enter a store with the produce center right before you. The pop of colors brighten my day. Since it was my first (and maybe only) time here, I was a bit confused with the layout. Everything was nice, but I have one tip for you: NEVER go on the last day of a TRIPLE coupon week (Tuesday). I didn't have any coupons with me, but the simple things I wanted, like Tetly British round teabags were completely sold out. Hey, I have nothing against coupons. I really wish this place did it for me. I'm always in here because I live close, but the self checkout is always broken...sometimes there are people to help, sometimes not. Now they're closing earlier at 9...so that's a bummer! The produce section is just OK, it's suitable, you can find some good vegan things that are Teeter brand like the French onion dip (soooo good), cheap but decadent chocolates, and hearts of palm are way cheaper compared to other shops, but overall, it's just an ok supermarket for me. I wish it would stay open til midnight honestly. The prices are high compared to Giant and even Whole Foods and both have way more to offer. The customer service at this grocery store is above and beyond that I have ever experienced! So sure, the food is fresh, there is a good assortment of options and prices, their produce is great, the store is clean, ... all of those basic things you'd expect from a grocery store are covered, check, no problemo. What I truly appreciate about this store, though, is how great check-out always is. It's always smooth and fast. I have never seen more than 3 people in a line waiting to check out. (and when there is, the manager opens a new line. amazing) Another plus is that they have cookies for kids... which I definitely use as a prize for my daughter to behave while we're at the store :) Their freezer/dairy section also has doors covering the products which I love because in other stores I am always FREEZING in those sections. So far, I only have one complaint that the pre-made foods section hasn't been that great. The sushi was okay but the other 'american meals' were somewhat disappointing, especially considering the rest of the store is such a delight. Great job, HT, I'm a huge fan: keep it up! :) read more

Deli staff was useless. Placed an order for four sandwiches and got two which were not as ordered. No apologies. No attempt to contact us to correct the order. Not even recognition that we were waiting for help, not for some time. All we were told was, "Well, we ran outta stuff." Apologies to the kid who clearly just wanted to listen to his music and not deal with customers. We will leave him alone from here on out and order from someone else. read more

I was out running some errands after work and my daughter messaged me to pick up some chilled healthy queso. It is a favorite of ours and is used for snacking & cooking. I am never really sure where to look for it in the store so I asked an employee at the front of the store? I was told to look for the queso in a cooler on the wall in the back of the store with Mexican cheeses and other chilled dips. I made my way along the back wall until I saw the correct cooler. There were only 2 brands of queso on the shelves. They had Cacique Queso Blanco & Gordo's Cheese Dip. Both were 16 ounces and cost little over $5. The Cacique brand was familiar to me & had mostly the same ingredients as Gordo's. The difference was that the Cacique brand has canola oil in it something my daughter tries to avoid. So I got Gordo's & went to the checkout lanes. It was after 6 pm & they weren't very busy. I entered my Kroger/Harris Teeter phone number for store points & was quickly rung up. You enter the checkout lanes in Harris Teeter stores at an angle. For some reason this always makes me have to think which checkout lane I'm entering! New and shiny, however prices are a bit higher than Giant right down the road. I am a sucker for high ceilings and good lighting and this place had both. I agree with the extensive cheese selection that would please most any cheese connoisseur. The fresh fruits and things looked very tasty but they were quite overpriced so I didn't partake. I look forward to spending a little more time in the store, every trip thus far has been a quick trip for a few particular items. read more

This is my second favorite grocery store. They have great produce, a great deli, and high quality wares at the meat and seafood counter, great sales (triple coupons anyone?). Not all HT's are created equal though. Make sure you go to one in a more upscale neighborhood if you want the more high-end selection like prime meat, premium wine, etc. Best feature for me is that they're open 24/7 and close to my house. read more

My daughter and I are hooked on this place. Good fresh produce, meats and seafood. They have a nice bakery that makes all kinds of goodies. They have a deli which turns out some of the very best sub's in the area. Very best sub's. If you like sushi, avoid the sushi bar. They have a very nice selection of cheeses, I have found every cheese I came looking for. The staff is very friendly and helpful and seem to be very motivated to do a good job. The prices are higher then some other grocery stores, and if price is your prime motivator this is not the place for you. But if you are willing to pay more for a better quality give them a try. Th Harris Teeter in Maple Lawn in about the worse grocery I've ever shopped at in my entire 50+ years living. Most of the fruits and produce are rotten and I just bought some shrimp that smelled awful. The people in this store are kind and have no problem accepting returns but I'm simply tired of having to return a large portion of my purchases. I went tonight 9/29/19 to pick up a bucket of fried chicken. I was at the Deli counter at 6:38 and was told by a gentleman they did not have any, but some would be ready in 20 minutes. I waited 25 minutes in the store and when back to the counter. Another gentleman came up and said the chicken would take 20 to 30 minutes before it was ready. So I went to the Customer Solution Center to voice my displeasure.. Though I received a voucher for a free bucket of chicken, it still ruined Sunday Night dinner I hope this review reaches Bret Poole ( Store Manager) and Anthony Baines ( Assistant Manager) so you can initiate a certain Code of Conduct to not mislead the public in relation when prepared food is to be ready as opposed to being actually ready. Possibly a Employee Interaction Seminar should be held in your store. I'll be suggesting this in my correspondence with the Harris Teeter main office. Well I hope you enjoy your Sunday dinner. I''d almost give this store five stars but I haven't really done any extensive shopping there, yet. I've only been in it a few times since it's right up the street from where my office is located but since I work from home most of the time, I don't go to the office that often. The store is clean, orderly and spacious. The variety is great and the service is spectacular. When I went to check out, the cashier made a pitch for their loyalty cards that made it sound pretty appealing and he gave me the "loyalty" discount even though I didn't have the card. As one of the other reviewers pointed out, this grocery chain is probably not the cheapest in town but you don't have to put up with the huge crowds, surly staff and limited variety you have at the "mass market/discount" places like Giant and Safeway. It may be worth it for me to hold my grocery shopping until I'm in the Harris Teeter neighborhood. read more

I have done a LOT of grocery shopping in my day and, until today, was never inspired to write about it. The deals are amazing (sign up for the VIC card!), the store is clean and well-organized, and the staff is just as friendly and helpful as they can be. I don't know what they are paying these people but they act as if they are working at their dream jobs and might even do it just for fun, if they didn't get paid. What? What? I know, sounds crazy, but it's true. I have shopped here at least 6 times and it's always the same. I usually dread asking grocery clerks for help with anything for fear of the eye-roll and heavy sighs. Not here, though. When I let Allison know that I had a question about a price, her response was a cheerful, "I have an answer." And she did. This particular Harris Teeter has become my grocery store of choice over the course of the last year. It has a wider selection of produce and international foods than the nearby Food Lion, Giant or Weiss. Furthermore, the produce tends to be of a higher quality than that from the aforementioned grocery stores. When I buy lettuce from HT, I do not need to worry about it going bad in my fridge less than 2 days later (as has been my experience with lettuce from Food Lion). As HT can be a bit more expensive than other grocery stores, I tend to shop its sales and specials, which can offer great deals. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. I have been looking for a product that keeps being mentioned in food threads that I follow. I've checked Wegman's, Giant, Fresh Market and others with no luck. Since my husband loves Hudson Coastal we decided to check out the Harris Teeter near it and then have lunch. I've been to other Harris Teeters and was never overly impressed, but this one was large, clean and had a huge variety of products. It reminded me of Wegman's without as much "seasonal merchandise" There is a map of the store as you enter, which is a nice touch. We had just done a major grocery shopping trip so we didn't really need a thing but it was interesting to see the products. The bakery and seafood counter were particularly intriguing. But I mainly wanted to check out the frozen food section. My husband asked an employee and sure enough they had a small supply of Reames noodles and they were on sale! We don't have a courtesy card but the nice cashier used hers for us. We did stop on the way out and sign up for our own courtesy card. Now if these darn noodles are just as wonderful as they are rumored to be! read more

First things first. If the bottom line is where you draw the line, then don't shop at Harris Teeter. If quality and eccentric variety is more important, then you should consider shopping at HT. On average, I would say that HT is more expensive than some of the surrounding stores - Bloom, Giant, etc. Anywhere from a few cents to a couple of dollars on larger items. And to be honest, if I'm in a pinch and I only need to buy something that I know is universal and I can pick it up elsewhere, I will. Heck, why not save a few bucks! However, if I'm out shopping for some seafood, fruits/veggies or looking for something in particular, I go out of my way to hit up HT. The selection and quality are what set HT apart from the other stores. Also, it is nice to go there because the staff is friendly, willing to help out and the store is kept very clean. Again, to summarize, if you are looking for the basics, save yourself some change and hit up another grocery store. If you are looking for something special, or need a wide variety of products, then definitely make your way to HT and spend some time checking out the whole store. read more

Being from NC, was excited when this location finally opened. The KC location is horrible compared to this. If you look on the website, KC is not listed. Fulton location is more comparable to others in NC. Location in North Bethesda, not bad. Don't like Giant or Safeway, overpriced and poor quality. At least at this loction I will pay a little more because the quality is worth it. Produce and seafood are fresh. The employees are always polite and willing to help. My favorite was this winter, like this past, I used the pickup grocery service. For a small fee ($5), sometimes waived if shop frequently, you order your groceries online and schedule a time to pickup your order. WHEW! what a convenience. I save money, because I am not walking around picking up things i do not need. I save time because what would normally take an hour, takes 15 mins. The last thing I want to do in the evening from work is go to the grocery store. Not sure what is meant by the other review that talks about the type of people that shop here?
