Being from NC, was excited when this location finally opened. The KC location is horrible compared to this. If you look on the website, KC is not listed. Fulton location is more comparable to others in NC. Location in North Bethesda, not bad. Don't like Giant or Safeway, overpriced and poor quality. At least at this loction I will pay a little more because the quality is worth it. Produce and seafood are fresh. The employees are always polite and willing to help. My favorite was this winter, like this past, I used the pickup grocery service. For a small fee ($5), sometimes waived if shop frequently, you order your groceries online and schedule a time to pickup your order. WHEW! what a convenience. I save money, because I am not walking around picking up things i do not need. I save time because what would normally take an hour, takes 15 mins. The last thing I want to do in the evening from work is go to the grocery store. Not sure what is meant by the other review that talks about the type of people that shop here? Super friendly staff. The store is clean and taken care of. I'd say the produce is hit or miss depending on what you're looking for. They don't have a designated gluten-free/natural section which I was used to at the last HT I frequented but the pharmacy aisles are clearly labeled which is really nice. read more

If it were possible to give zero stars, that is what I would rate the pharmacy at this place. I have called in prescriptions and refills, and the automated system calls me and says the prescription is ready, when it is not. When I call in a prescription, I leave a message and provide a number in the message to call me if there is a problem; they either do not listen to the message or they just ignore it. I have raised this complaint to the store several times. Nothing happens and no change. Worse, they have a habit of being out of the heart medicine I need when it is time for a refill. Is there no inventory control? Don't they have a computer system to help them manage their inventory against patient needs? How is this safe medicine? Hello Harris Teeter Pharmacy! Very expensive compared to other supermarkets (eg wegmans). Cakes are cold and taste stale.

Once I saw a TV show about parasites in sushi. Since then I secretly analyzed each piece of fish for living worms before consuming... But for some reason, I forgot to do that this time around... I'm still alive... and I don't think I have any worms... I love Harris Teeter's Sushi! Not your typical grocery store sushi. The sushi chefs are pro and uber friendly. The choices may be limited but the selection changes daily. The fish is fresh and the rice is good. One pack, about two rolls cost roughly $8-$10. A big plus- this location is open 24 hrs. read more

Love the VIC savings and sushi offerings. They have a pretty good produce selection as well.

Some days this store offers a pleasant experience and others pretty much the opposite. If you go on a weekday at lunchtime or later there will be at least 25-50 teens crowding in to a line for Starbucks or running the aisles. read more

Free samples. Now, that I have your attention :). This has become my go to grocery store the last few months. I drive past 3 others to come here just because the produce is always fresh. It is more expensive than Weis, but they always have what I need here. They often offer free samples of what's on special that week in the produce, bread, deli and sometimes bakery department. My toddler loves the free cookies by the checkout too. I have had to return two items here: moldy cheese and BBQ sauce. Each time was easy and they gave me a voucher for a free bag plus my money back. The registers are a bit weird, but everything is clean and everyone is very nice. read more

I feel a little weird writing a review for a regular grocery store, but I come here often, so why not. They have a good selection of everything you'd need here. I find they have better produce and meats than Giant or Safeway. I like coming to this one as it's quieter than other Harris Teeters in the area and therefore, better stocked. read more

This is by far my favorite grocery store in the area. I'll gladly pass up the Weis and Bloom in Laurel to visit this store. The store is very large and clean with a wide variety of items. My husband and I have tried a lot of the Harris Teeter brand items and like them all. While some brand name items may be a little more expensive than other stores, if you look for VIC specials or have coupons, it doesn't really affect your wallet that much. Another big perk is the ample parking lot out front and around the side, so that no matter what time you go you can always find a convenient spot. And whenever I go, there never seems to be a huge problem with long waits in line to check out. And there are quite a few self check-outs if that is how you roll. read more

Since my last review (11/18/2013) I have additional updates on the produce manager. This guy really hates his job and hates his customers. Last week I stood in the produce section and watched as he shrieked at an employee in front of customers. Ok so maybe the employee did something erroneous and needed to be spoken with, fine I get it - don't you have a room someplace isolated? I felt dreadful for the employee. Today he had precariously stacked the cucumbers in such a manner that when I selected one the rest almost plummeted off the pyramidal mountain onto the floor. Not to mention that there were recently drenched and soaking wet. Slippery little chumps. I somehow with the greatest of agility managed to catch every single one prior to them springing forth to their demise. Once I had restacked them NEATLY I might add he sighed gave me a dirty look and went and restacked the cucumbers as if I was a total idiot. Oh and by the way - when produce does hit the floor I have seen him and his employees put it back on the shelf. So be careful when you look at that apple, pear, potato etc. Wash all produce prior to eating or cooking - you just never know where it has been. This guy needs a new job - seriously he makes me want to drive up the street to the Giant in Brutonsville or Wegmans in Columbia. Cannot wait for Whole Foods to open in Columbia! 90% of the employees here are wonderful, very helpful, very kind but the produce manager is really dragging them down. read more

I have been shopping at Harris Teeter for 5 years since we moved from Michigan. Tonight, after shopping I realized that my car battery died in the parking lot. I went into the store and asked the customer service personnel whether I can use their phone to call my husband. She said no since we kept our Michigan cell phone number. I asked her to call her manager and her manager said no as well. I was stranded at 9:30 pm in the parking lot. Fortunately, one gentleman with a child let me use his phone. I am also a mother of two boys and I really thank you very much for your kindness. I will NEVER go back to Harris Teeter. I will NEVER send my kids to Harris Teeter. They did not have any decency to help their customer in an emergency situation at night time. read more

I love shopping at this grocery store. Enough to log in and write a review. Even though there are two grocery stores closer to me, I go to this one because of the customer service. I often shop with kids, and I never realized what a difference customer service makes until I had to do that regularly. I never have to wait for more than one other customer in line, they've got free cookies for the kids after checkout (makes getting in the car so much easier), and the cashiers and stockers are always friendly and polite. The produce is always fresh, and the store is clean. If I go at the right time, they've got samples which keep the kids distracted while I shop. They've usually got pretty good deals too. I got 18 eggs for less than $2 the other week. That was nice. read more

I've been doing curbside pick up for almost a year. For the most part I've been pleased but today they went above and beyond in customer service! The worker forgot to put my eggs in the car so when I called whoever I spoke to said someone would personally bring them to me! Within a couple of hours the girl who packed my car came to my house with the eggs AND a small bouquet of flowers! I've been a Wegmans girl for years but this kind of customer service will keep me heading to my curbside pickup at Teeter!!! Thanks!!! read more

Business seems lower over the past few months but maybe I don't go at the busiest days/times (I go on weekday or Sat. afternoons). The store looks very clean and attractive. Product variety is excellent including a lot of smaller and/or gourmet brands. The lead male pharmacist is very nice and competent, as is the current manager and the staff at the meat case. The biggest plus for me is HT's B1G1 free sales, as I am a single person with limited storage and can buy just one for 50% off. This also encourages me to try new things. HT and the chain starting with an "S" seem to have the highest non-sale prices. I'd encourage this HT to, first, have all its employees be courteous and cheerful, and treat them well. Some appear rushed, preoccupied, and shout at each other, e.g., doin pick-up orders. I know where else I can go if I want rushed and unfriendly from a store or its departments. Second, get the best produce you can (often I've seen items that are highly ripe and/or don't look as fresh as I expect). More people want to eat more healthfully now, give us good produce sales. Restock all sale items in the store frequently, not once or twice a week. Avoid screaming Muzak, whether soul, rock, etc. read more

Curbside service is very friendly and polite and usually prompt. As to the goods, the watchword for the store is "unavailable." Numerous items sold by other stores (e.g. Giant) are never available and many items sold by Teeter become periodically unavailable, either temporarily or permanently. I wouldn't patronize Teeter except that they are so close and Giant's curbside service is bad. read more

Manager and staff are super friendly and helpful. Store is always clean. For the most part everything is always well stocked. Lines are fast and the store is hardly crowded. My only complaint is the produce is terrible. It seems to be well stocked and organized. There always seems to be employees putting things out, but the produce is never fresh. It is usually overly ripe or just plain rotten! One time I got home and the strawberries I purchase were moldy under the top layer. Now I check them every time because I've seen mold on other packages of different berries. I've also noticed old meat sometimes in the case. Despite the lack of freshness I still come to this store for groceries weekly. Maybe I'm picking the wrong day of the week for produce! read more

I have been coming to Harris teeter at maple lawn now for 2 years. At first I love it because of how clean it was and how nice the employees are. The place is still clean and employees are still super nice but I must say, I have never once been there and they have everything I need on my list. Something as simple as my pita chips or even the organic romain lettuce that I get.. They are ALWAYS out of stock on at least 3 to 5 items on my grocery list. I love Harris teeter because not only is it the closest grocery store to me but I love that they have the express lanes where you can order your groceries online. But every time I order my groceries online, a nice employee calls me to tell me that several items I ordered online are not in stock and they have to substitute it for something else...it's a pain the the ass and very frustrating. I hate to say this, but I never have this problem at Giant. Sometimes I'm willing to make the drive 10 min down the road to giant because I know I will find everything I need there and better prices too! read more

everytime I go they have some problem with making me a sub. several times I have been kept waiting and nobody will assist me or take my order. the last 2 times they say they are out of bread, unbelievable! How can they run out of bread at 2 pm. not good service at all. read more

Although I truly love this chain in general, and always shop at this store if time allows, I am disappointed every time I am there by the lack of customer service. Many times I have been there observing long check out lines, and employees chatting away by themselves, not helping any customers. The checkers that actually man the registers act as if they would rather be anywhere but there. I have never experienced this at any other HT stores; only this one. It sours the entire experience. we went here right before midnight to get some frozen individual ice cream cups, you know, the ones with a spoon in them already. nothing was open in the area. tutti McDonalds and cvs was closed, but amazingly, Harris Teeter is open 24hrs a day! their huge parking lot was empty and we took forever to make a choice. but we had fun in their cafe area - which was just three tiny tables in the front. read more

I've been here a lot over the years and I think the prices are way too high. Also, one day I went in for an E-Vic special, and for whatever reason the machine wasn't reading my card. These specials are only for those who have signed up for them by email, and I have been an E-Vic member for years. Since the machine wasn't reading my card, I called a manager over and they would't give me the special. It was only going on that day, so it's not like I could go back the next day and try again. This would have NEVER happened at Giant. They would have given me the special since it was their machine that messed up, not me. read more

Since writing my last review, they've improved the quality/freshness a bit and considering the convenience of being around the corner from my house, HT is great. It's open 24/7, which is a Godsend when we run out of my one-year-old's infant Tylenol. They have better deli selections that they used to have and the manager (maybe he's a new one?) is pretty nice and helpful. read more

The Starbucks at Fulton ( maple lawn ) Harris Teeter employees need to be trained..Not only are they rude but when they mess up your order and have to remake it they have an attitude...First the girl who made my salted caramel mocha frap forgot to put the main ingredient in it and it tasted awful so I asked what she did differently or forgot to put in it ( it was a white color as to the brown color its supposed to be ) and I got no answer when I asked her a few times if she forgot something, so I asked if the male employee could make it, again, ATTITUDE bc he had to remake it..So he made my drink and this time he didnt put the caramel on the top of the whip cream so I asked him, " what about the caramel "??, he said, " it doesnt come with caramel " and he said it in a rude way..I know for a fact that it does come with caramel and acted like a jerk when I asked him if he could put caramel on it anyway..Anyway, they need to train their employees the right way to make a drink and not have an attitude bc they mess up..They were not friendly at all..Oh and the girl that originally made my drink messed up the customers drink before me..Get it together!!!..employees name was trevor or travis..I didnt get the girls name read more

Setting aside the fact that they choose to have their grocery check out lines confuse all new customers. This business has excellent sushi and a usually fresh salad bar. The sandwiches and meal deals are a good deal for your buck. Their prices are high but when they are the only gig within walking distance of a lot of businesses it makes sense. I understand they try to be helpful but when I have one item and am standing in the cashiers line just let me be. If I wanted to do self-check out I would be standing there instead. read more
