Walmart Steals Hundreds of Dollars From Unsuspecting Customers. At the self-checkout, I hit the button to buy bags for my purchases, only to be told that there are no bags. This has happened to me a couple of times. Now multiply that by the number of customers who don't get in the long customer service line to get their 10+ cents back, and Walmart's got a nice little scam going. And I get it, I guess I should have asked first if there were bags to purchase, so my bad. But when I brought this up to the Manager, that there shouldn't be the option to purchase bags of you don't actual sell bags, her first words are, it's the government's fault for banning plastic bags, instead of saying I'm so sorry about that. Walmart in Delano!!!! Delano is coming up in the world! Delano upgraded from dollar stores to Kmart and now Walmart!!! If you live on the opposite end of Delano near County Line Rd, chances are you will probably visit Kmart versus Walmart because Walmart is near the first exit of Delano and Kmart is near the last exit of Delano... Pros of going to Walmart in Delano... prices are cheaper versus Kmart, there are more variety of whatever you are looking for at Walmart and Walmart closes at midnight versus Kmart at 9pm. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big fan of the Walmart in Delano, but I do visit often when I'm in town because I grab a few things for my mom here when I come to visit her. This particular Walmart is pretty busy and yet you can never find a worker for help if you need it. The workers are nice, but are always MIA. This Walmart is not the cleanest either; however, I noticed they have a lot of inventory because I can usually find a lot of Keurig pods flavors here versus the ones in Bakersfield. They also have a lot more products on shelves and maybe it's because Delano is much smaller and less customers versus Bakersfield, but this is a plus for me when I shop here. Parking area is no problem as far as parking because it's a huge parking lot; however, you must make sure to lock your cars and hide your belongings because this Walmart has a bunch of crazies that like to break into people's cars, but then again... why'd you bring your expensive things to Walmart in Delano? Outside-carts are everywhere! I don't blame the employees, but customers should always put the carts back! Diaper/Baby Wipes section is ALWAYS a mess and their items are ALWAYS out of stock. Craft area where acrylic paints are always a total mess. I have always left a pack of baby wipes in the cart at checkout (since it's a huge box) and always told the employee to scan it-and the employees do on previous trips have always done that, BUT today the cashier told me," Can you get the wipes?" So I carry it for her to scan (I didn't care much of it), but she added, "I will not go to the cart and scan it, if it's not heavy." Wow I have never experienced that in Walmart ever. Can't she just take the scan gun & scan it? She was just plain rude from the start, NO hello, NO thanks. She just handed me the receipt. How can Walmart hire people like this? If you don't want to work there, JUST DON'T. Her name was Julieann by the way. As soon as I got into that line I can already tell she wasn't in the mood to be there. Can you write a review without attaching stars? The Delano Walmart is without a doubt, the absolute worse of any other Walmart I have shopped at. From trying to speak to someone over the phone to walking through the front door, the experience is nauseating. Staff is somber, clueless and lacks the tiniest hint of any type of customer service skill. I believe the store management is to blame. Management themselves lack the ability to make decisions or address customer complaints without using the excuse of "that's just the way we do things." Who hires management here anyways? A manager should set a good example by "leading," not just dipping out in the shadows when things go awry. No one here knows what they're doing or cares to learn. It makes me sad to think that our community is taken for granted by this conglomerate. If you can avoid this place please do! I guarantee the experience will disappoint you. read more

Oh Delano how you always seem to find a way to mess up a good thing. Why must you leave things on the floor and be so inconsiderate the few times I've visited this Walmart? One of the few positives is Black Friday. This has been my go to spot the last 3 years and I've been able to walk in and grab what I'm looking for each time. This could easily be a 2 star review but the fact that they always handle Black Friday fairly well lands them a 3. One of the negatives is the staff. I don't know how else to put it but they simply don't care. The folks in electronics know their stuff, but the rest of the folks don't care. The nearest Walmart located in Wasco is completely different than this one located in Delano. That review is next! Regardless, I know a lot of fellow Delanoans that we're ecstatic to hear that we were going to get a Walmart. When it first opened up service was great. *** Pit stop review (Daleno) *** This particular Walmart is in the small agricultural town of Daleno. I've passed by this location many times before and after it was built. Surprisingly this location is a lot more packed with customers than I thought it would be. It is a pretty good location to pull over to stretch your legs right off of the 99 freeway. Some things never change. This place is still a dump and the employees are horrible. It was my daughters birthday so I took her to get a LOL doll that she wanted. For some reason these things are locked up behind glass like some sort of assault weapon. I asked the guy for a doll and he claimed he didn't have a key, he went to find the manager. 5..10..15 minutes went by and nobody showed up. I found the same guy and asked about the key and he claimed he "forgot". The guy has one job to do and can't seem to do it. Finally after 40 mins, some "manager" comes and unlocked the case so my daughter can pick out a doll. Afterwards he slams it shut and walks off like it was an inconvenience for him to do his job and sell a toy. This whole store is a dump and like I said the employees are the issue. read more

This is as good as a Walmart gets. Five stars for the staff! The older lady with the color in her hair is especially kind. They never are out of what I need and the place is pretty clean even a couple years after opening. Also, the delivery service saved my butt during the pandemic! read more

This Walmart locks everything up. You cannot even get printing ink without asking an associate. Cosmetics also have to be paid in the particular department. Why can't you bring your items to the main registers. They expect you to pay all of your items in one little register. read more

This Walmart is okay but if you want help from an associate they would take forever to come and help you even though it is a small issue that you need help with and sometimes they would pretend not to notice you sometimes and some of them have moody attitudes. There is an older Caucasian female door greeter that's always rude to people. Every time me and my wife go here we notice her telling on some poor soul. Not 24 Hours anymore. I haven't had any issues with this location other being caged in at certain times when they're restocking you have to walk a maze just to get to the other side. I would hope they would be more cautious but hey, it's Walmart. Prices are still very inexpensive and although there is only 1 cashier at any given time, they do have self check out. It's my first go to place because it's convenient and low priced before going to other stores. read more

Oh man what to say...I pulled up in the parking lot and there were so many carts all over. I grabbed one to move it out of the parking space I'm pulling in to. I see the cart wrangler, "good". I'll get back to that later. I walk in and go directly to the paint department. I usually find the first worker I see and immediately ask for assistance with the paint, usually this works pretty quick, 7 times out of 10 it's met with attitude. Anyhow, I see a worker and ask to get the spray paint case opened up, "let me find someone with keys". So I wait, I see another worker peaking on me around the corner and turns back. Then both workers walk by and nothing. I continue to wait. 15 minutes later I abandon all hope and leave with what I have. As I'm walking out, low and behold, the carts that were all around my parking spot are still there. Ugh, the same area I saw the cart wrangler in before walking in. He must have had another cart emergency he had to report to. Seems to be a Walmart thing though, but home takes the cake my friends. read more

Worst customer service I have EVER experienced!!!! As a former manager in customer service is this a Disgrace to society! You don't have 1 register open! When I asked a cashier if she could open a register since I had 2 carts and my newborn with me! I was told "no doesn't look like we have a register open but you can use the self check out." They didn't try to please the customer at all!!! Then I return the next day to get a few items one including a bottle of fireball. I wait for assistant tell multiple employees that I need approval they take 5minutes to come over to tell me I need to go to the register that says closed to buy my alcohol which is where I asked the cashier the day before if someone could ring me up! So they have the ability to help people but they go out of their way not to! It's sad to see elder people struggling to check out by them selves and upset because no one will help them! I am in my twenties and find this ridiculous!!! You should at least have one register open as a choice! I wish I could give negative stars! read more

I was there at 5:30PM for the Thanksgiving Day sale. I found it very entertaining and comical to see the vast majority of customers help themselves to the items that were taped off and monitored by Walmart staff to be sold at 6PM long before the 6PM sale time. No one wants to willingly visit a Walmart location but when you live in the middle of nowhere and it opens its doors and shuts down local businesses it becomes a sad necessity. This location is usually crowded and despite there being many lanes there are only 4 to 5 cashiers slowly at work. The self checkout lane usually has a long line too. Prepare for parking wars as obese people struggle to park as close as possible to the front in order to avoid taking an extra 10 steps. read more
