Updated to 1 star to reflect poor delivery service. Sam's manages to make it without failure or delay. This Walmart is the reason I STOPPED TIPPING BEFORE the order was delievred. There's no way anyone can convince me only foreign born drivers can find their way here and access the video call box. I even checked in with family and friends to learn what's the deal hoping to blame the corporation. But nope ...lazy and inept drivers was the answer. People of Walmart have a way of being so super authentic. If we didn't need steel toe or composite toe shoes for the same day we wouldn't have tried at all. I ordered something online for curbside pickup and the experience was great. It didn't take long for the guy to come with my item. However I had a return and have learned that although the site says the customer service desk will be open at 7am when the store opens, they don't. I got there around 7:50am and was told the service desk opens at 8. There was already a guy waiting for returns as well. And a woman was in line behind me also waiting. read more

So I'm sitting here trying to buy some socks, yes you heard me right I said socks like the things that you put on your feet and they are literally locked behind glass. This is insane. Furthermore, they have these crappy little boxes that either don't work or something because I've been standing here for 10 minutes waiting on an associate. I even walked around the entire Lil clothing area and didn't even see one person. It's 730 at night. I want a no star rating. I get that items have to be locked up due to theft. What is extremely frustrating is that you don't staff these areas to give great customer service. We pressed the button to alert for help. An employee walked up and shut the button off then walked off without helping us. I went to self checkout asking for them to call. No one showed up. I pressed the button again. No help. I went to the fitting room and she overhead paged for help. No help came. I went to the service desk where there was three associates and asked for a Coach to come because I am getting very upset as we are standing there getting nowhere for one item out of the locked case. I went back to the fitting room again and said I still need help as no one has showed up. This woman was pretty shocked and upset that we didn't get the help we have been asking for. A woman went and grabbed the key fob to open the case for that one item. No customer should have to work that hard nor wait that long to get the help they need. One of the associates from the service desk happened to be on an aisle I was on. He asked if I still wanted that Coach. I said no because I thought I saw one on an aisle and I would find them myself. I understand Charlotte is a larger city and I've been to every Walmart in Charlotte and this one Hass to be one of the worst it used to be really good...the best in charlotte actually...I don't know what happened. We have asked someone to show us an aisle and the customer service was absolutely terrible she literally pointed in a direction and said no words while continuously walking. We stayed in line for over 40 minutes because there was only three actual lines open and one section of self checkout open. What a shame.... read more

Absolute worst Walmart I've ever been to. Nobody has keys for the glass sliding doors and not one MANAGER acts like they can help. Seen a male light skin employee with locks with the keys on his waist, asked if he can assist and he tells me no. LIKE WTF!!!!! You are literally just standing around not doing anything. There are certain managers that are working here that are in need of self evaluation. Instead of talking down on employees when short staffed why not help out. This Walmart has a decent store as far as being fairly new and still clean. It is organized and arranged well. The shelves are well stocked. The parking is adequate. It is all good until you try to check out. Why does it take so long to get your purchases paid for and placed in a bag? NOTE: This review is for the grocery pickup service only! Best grocery pickup experience I have had with a Walmart! I have tried grocery pickup at four different WM's around CLT (I live in Mint Hill) and they have all been atrocious! Half the time they are substituting like crazy or I don't get half my order because they are out of everything or I have to wait more than 15mins after I check in or worse yet, they say they will be right out with my order and I have to call back after nothing for 20mins and then they sound annoyed that I'm a bit upset!? I had given up on the grocery pickup because the aggravation and wasted time waiting far outweighed the supposed convenience of having to step foot inside a WM (which I loathe, but can't afford the likes of Harris Teeter or Target grocery options). However, out of desperation due to time restraints this wknd, I opted to try this WM because they actually had items that several other WalMarts were out of stock and they had an available appt time that fit my schedule since I was going to be in this area. I wasn't holding out much hope this experience wasn't going to be like the others. I was so pleasantly surprised when I checked in via the grocery app and got a notification 5mins later that my order was ready for pickup and it was 10mins before my scheduled pickup time! Also, impressed that they only had to replace two items and they replaced one of them with a better, more expensive one! I pulled into a spot and called in to let them know I was there and not only was the guy, Hayder, out in under 5mins, but I was even given a little "thank you" goodie bag w/a btl of water (which was fantastic because I was parched!) and some nice little candies! Hayder was so nice! Took great care to load everything into my car (even took time to make sure my eggs and bread would not get smashed or broken where they were loaded) and I was literally out of there within 10mins of arriving!! I went to the bathroom before I began shopping and saw the worse conditions in the men's bathroom! A few hour later I had to come back because I forgot a few items and before I began shopping I was curious to see if anyone had attended to the horrible filth in the bathroom and unsurprisingly it was in the SAME condition! I generally shop at Walmarts when I need stuff. But I've started to notice that the stores just aren't as nice as they used to be. And they certainly aren't as nice when you're not in the Bentonville area. This one is pretty good, as Walmart's go. The place is well lit, the parking lot is clean, the carts were not scattered everywhere and the few associates that interacted with me were pleasant (the rest need to review the Ten Foot Rule: http://walmartstores.com/AboutUs/285.aspx). Like all Walmarts, the prices are very low and the quality tends to take a hit. But when you only need a few bits (toilet plunger, please), it tends to get the job done. I can understand why people don't like shopping at Walmart (my usual one on SOUTH Tryon is such a store) but this one seems better than most. Shopping at any Walmart is never an experience to write home about but this location is one of the worst in Charlotte. This and the location off of Ashley Rd are responsible for me doing all of my big box store shopping solely at the Big Red Bullseye for the last several year but I needed to do a return for something I foolishly purchased on their website. Was accused of stealing a $4 meal that was not even mine my friend had paid for it in the beginning of or WM trip after purchasing $50 dollars worth of food and other items they grabbed me and held me off to the side questioning me and accusing me of not paying for a meal that was not mine in the first place upon which I continued telling them HE had paid for it when he got it from the deli counter. And why I was getting harassed about something that had nothing to do with me. To which I was told I watched you pay for everything that you had why wouldn't you have just paid for your friends food..... which I then said get your hands off me and I'm leaving because we paid for that earlier and why would I steal $4 of food when I just spent $50+ dollars. I was never apologized to or anything when they went back and found out that we had actually already paid for that food item and was physically and verbally abused by being grabbed by a WM employee. Not to mention I went to use the restroom and not one of there 8 sinks had papers towels or there 6 men's toilets had any toilet paper which I then went and asked if someone could bring some I was told yea and stood there for 15 mins before going and asking again waited another 10 mins and still never got TP or paper towels..... EXTREMELY angry annoyed and upset over the incredibly pooor disturbing customer service I have received from these employees who's names I will leave out But gladly give up to any supervisor Manager or corporate WM employee that would like to make what happened to me right. read more

We placed an order for ham and cheese. She handed us the ham and then walked away. When my daughter asked her what about the cheese, she said I'm going to take this lady first because she's getting less cheese are.... What the ever loving hell? And who's world is this OK? And the other lady, without a child or anyone else with her, was very rude saying she needed her keys. Y'all need to get some manners up in this place. read more

I have been to this location numerous of times and it has to be one of the most unorganized Walmart and Mecklenburg county. I've visited the customer service area on Mother's Day weekend. There was one individual working in customer service. I asked for the customer service manager her name is Ms. Tara, very unprofessional. I have met with Mr. Howard personally concern is the customer service at this location. He says that he is working on making things better that has been 5 to 6 months ago! Horrible experience. I walk in to buy groceries and some random man walks up to me kicking me out because he said I stole skittles. I literally just walked in got some break and started looking at sandwich meat. I wasn't no where near the candy isle. The man said his manager kept kicking me out and threaten to call security to escort me out as if I was a theft. The manger kept screaming at me and cursing at me to get out. I told them to look at the camera and he would see I just walked In. He would see I did t steal anything if he looked at the camera. All I got was aggression from the manager. I use to live in Charlotte and this Walmart was always pretty hectic to get in to. You have cars in the fire lane, cars waiting to get down the parking lot, people in every which direction. I usually always went to the Walmart either in Concord or the one across from Concord Mills. I was on the way to the airport but had some returns that I needed to do as I didn't want to have to pack them and deal with them when I returned to Phoenix. This Walmart is about a mile from where I was staying and I didn't have the time to drive up to Concord. The greeter was very friendly and told me which line to get into for returns. The Customer Service agent though was definitely not in a great mood. I get it, it's the holidays, people are returning 50 million different things, the people in front of me were giving her a hard time about a return from Walmart.com. I always start my returns in the Walmart app. It's easier and makes the job easier for the Customer Service person. This lady literally sighed when I went to scan my QR code. I even told the lady as she was scanning the items that one of the sweaters didn't have a tag and that someone at the Concord Walmart had to use another sweatshirt to scan this one and she glared at me like I was making her job difficult. She didn't ask me how my day was going, she didn't respond to me when I tried to make some small talk. After processing my return, she tossed my receipt at me and yelled next. I always avoided this Walmart for other reasons, but now I have even another reason to not return to this location. read more

Employees, shoppers, parking, traffic on Tryon is all miserable! And, half the stuff you're looking for is always not on the shelf or priced wrong! If you need to visit this particular Walmart, here's a tip: Come in the back ways... (avoid Tryon n light rail, sometimes takes half hour to park). Not many know this short cut : If you're headed eastbound on University City Blvd ... make a left on to Ikea Blvd before Tryon (IKEA main entrance) then, make a right onto Brookside Lane right after TJ Maxx. That will bring you into the side of Walmart with no traffic and the best parking... you'll forever go this way if you try it once. read more

In the middle of a weekday afternoon, I am surprised to find that the parking lot was jammed. In front of the store, cars are patrolling back and forth looking for prime parking spots. The car in front of me, a monstrous blue Cadillac, is stalking a pair of knick-knack laden customers returning to their car. We are forced to crawl behind as the Cadillac tails them. The couple finds their vehicle and begins unloading. One bag in the trunk. One bag on the back seat. Returning to the trunk. Digging through it to find their Doritos. It took nearly five minutes for this couple to prepare for the drive home. But eventually they managed it and the Cadillac in front of us pulled into their spot. By now I'm a little worried that I may not have the patience to find a spot of my own. But what can you do, except carry on down the row of cars and keep looking? Ah, but I had underestimated the people of Wal-Mart. Not ten spaces farther was a free spot. And another. And another. 90 feet, and the parking lot was completely vacant. The Cadillac had waited five minutes for a parking space 90 feet closer to the door. That's a 25 second walk. read more

I went here tonight and waited for at least 25 minutes to check out, the cashier comes back and says that she was going on break and that someone would be here in about 20 minutes. After waiting all that time they expect you to move to another line that's just as long! I honestly don't understand this Walmart at all. Who manages this store? Why is this store still open? I completely understand the name given to this Walmart. This place needs to go through and fire every manager and probably the cashiers too but it's Walmart so they won't listen to the customers until we stop shopping there. Oh Wally World. This Walmart is something else. I've been to most Walmarts and this one was recently built. However, the area that they built wasn't the really right location. That's probably a big determinant of how good a Walmart upkeep will be and how well it will be maintained. However, I think this one has been more profitable than other ones around Charlotte just because it's close to the University and all of North Charlotte. Parking lot is well lit, parking is plentiful, and well it's a Wal Mart. I came in here to get my passport photos taken, only to realize that they didn't do passport photos (however the machines advertise that they do) and was told that Walgreens did. And so, that's where I went to get my passport photos done. Other than that, this is a pretty new store, so it's not bad and it's nice to have it around this area as college students are near and need a place to shop. read more

I bought a few things today, thought I found some deals but they weren't. Walmarts is so bad at putting the wrong packages in the wrong places. Today they had 10 oz of jerky for 7. Went to check the price and surprise all the price scanners are gone. Had to hunt down a person who told me the right price of 10$. Tuna in packages, big pack for 92 cents didn't seem right. Yea it was in the wrong place too. They don't want you to check prices, they want you too self check out. I have had my fill of long lines and mis priced items. I do Walmart delivery all the time and there have been numerous times that the Walmart person doesn't even come. My app will say on its way and it never shows up so I have to cancel the order. Nobody picks up the phone either. It just keeps ringing for like 10 minutes. I ordered cranberry juice the other day and the app said they shopped it and when I went to get it from my door, there was bread instead. Like be for real.
