I'm amazed at the ridiculous reviews this store gets. From a guy on crutches complaining about the elevator being broken to some girl that feels the "Hispanics" are "checking her out" at "every turn". Insane. Grow up. Elevators break. Escalators break. Men look at women...although probably not nearly as much as that one woman seems to think they do. Not everything is an attack on you. The whole world isn't out to screw over the handicapped and degrade women sexually. This is one of the best Walmart stores around. It new, it's clean, it's well stocked and mot of the people that work there are just fine. Get over yourselves. As Walmarts go this location isn't as dirty and sketchy as some of the others (like Tucker) but I just don't get how they can always have so few cash register lanes open (I'm talking check out lanes actually operated by a human). Honestly...I have never seen more than 2 lanes open and there is always a long line at each. Walmart is definitely NOT the place to go if you want speedy service. read more

Combine that with staff that is below average intelligence, 80% of the store is non English speaking, and a non 24 hour location you get the wal-mart from hell. TL;DR shop at Amazon or Target. Don't waste your time or money. They'll ensure that you do. I had the absolute worst retail experience in my life a this location. My girlfriend and I had ordered some Christmas items online and decided to do an in-store pickup. The depths of despair that you will fall into while waiting in Pickup is not worth the $5 you will save. Have the item shipped. We had received email confirmation that our order had arrived in store two day before our visit to this location. I dropped my girlfriend off and went straight to Radioshack to pick up some other items. About 20 or 30 minutes later, I went into Wal-Mart and found her still in the back at the Pickup counter, where she told me that she was still waiting for them to find her package. After another 10 minutes of us waiting, I asked to see her email with the confirmation of the delivery and I was able to find the box number that Wal-Mart provides. I spoke with a helpful associate working in the department, thinking that maybe the box number would help, and showed her the email. She showed the email to another associate who immediately misunderstood the situation and told me I was wrong. I began to explain the situation and she very rudely interrupted me, as if her interpretation of the situation was the only plausible explanation. One to not take kindly to being interrupted, I firmly suggested that she allow me to finish explaining the situation to her and she gave me a very snooty look and walked away from me. I have never in my life had someone be so rude to me. It's perfectly ok if you don't understand the situation, but don't interrupt someone when they're to explain the situation and don't ever walk away from someone trying to help. It turns out it didn't matter. I spoke with another associate and asked why it was difficult to locate our item even after I provided the box number for them and she explained to me that there was absolutely no organization in the delivery room. Your packages are literally thrown and strewn about the room with zero regard to your items or your time. This department has no respect for you, your items, or your time. It will serve you much better to shop at Target or online for your items. At least there you're respected. read more

Go around back and park in the garage. Its very hard to get a spot during "perk " times. (lunch hour, after 5pm). This location has a Subway inside and the deli is AWSOME!! the store is neat and clean. the staff is friendly and helpful, I enjoy shopping at this location. read more

Hate most WalMarts, especially this one. Always long lines, an ass of people working that could care less about customer service, even the Money Center gets backed up like people have a cart full of bills to pay there too....lol Are you serious, 8 out of 40 registers open with 15 people in every line while employees (and managers) talk about getting their hair did (no typo), who pregnant this week, and when you go on break? Awful!!! I had one item and came thru the check out lines. It took me 20 minutes to get through the express on a rainy Monday night during the middle of the month. Omg. They have the slowest cashiers there is and there has not been one time I could ever get I'm and out. I have nothing against old people. But a slow grandfather has no business in the express check out looking confused. I mean come the **** on! I absolutely hate this Walmart. Finally they said they had a product here in store, according to the online product check and guess what? They were out and had been out since Saturday when I came to grocery shop. I know it's not cool to love Wal-Mart, but- and you can write this down- I LOVE Wal-Mart. I love being able to buy anything & everything in one place and have it be reasonably priced. Where else in the world can you buy a cooler, a TV, a sewing machine, shoes, a loaf of bread, underwear, a ladder, and allergy medicine in the same place? A PARKING CONUNDRUM! This Walmart is great if you need to stop in the early morning hours when traffic is minimal. It has always been very organized, clean and well stocked. My only problem is with the parking situation. Parking up front is very limited and it is shared with other businesses. If you are not able to find a spot on the upper level, you will have to drive to the underground parking structure which is dark and creepy. You then are able to access the main level via the escalator. I have only parked on the lower level once, (escorted by my spouse), and that was all I needed to know that I would not do that again. For those who are interested, the location has direct access to the Marta station which is very convenient. Le ugh. JUST THE WORST. I went to the pharmacy for a simple prescription refill and it was a fiasco. Not to sound snide, but does Wal-Mart even hire people who can read or function at a competent level? Normally I don't shop at Wal-Mart but I had to purchase cat food, engine oil, pilates mat, and refill my prescription. Wal-Mart was the closest store to do one stop shopping, so I girded my loins and made my way towards shopping purgatory. Everything went down hill when I pulled into the parking lot. 1) Parking is so confusing. Upper level parking is limited and no one wants to park below deck, and if they do, they're confused as how to get there, thus ensuring automotive chaos for everyone around them. 2) Don't even bother getting help at the pharmacy. No one knows what they are doing. * The wait is extremely long. Its like everyone working behind the counter is on an extended lunch break. * Maybe I expect a little too much, but I sort of want fully literate pharmacy techs working behind the counter. When I presented my insurance card to them (after a 30 min wait), they proceeded to tell me they couldn't process my card b/c it had expired, even tho. it says on my card that I'm an active member since 01/01/2012. * I was given rebate cards for some of my prescriptions and the pharmacy tech said she couldn't process it until I activated the card (which I did prior to visit). Some cards did not need activating but had to be presented along with your insurance card. All you had to do was follow the instructions on the back of the card, fill in the RX numbers, and voila. This was beyond comprehension to the pharmacy tech, even after my doctor faxed over instructions on how to properly use the rebate cards. * They ask too many personal questions, such as "why do you need this?" * After they bungled my last order, I asked them to transfer my prescription to Kroger, but they didn't even do that right. They sent half of my order over and my doctor had to fax the rest. 3) Half of the check-out lanes are closed. What is the point of having 20 check out lanes when 8 are open? Also rather puzzling is the self-check out counter. Every time I go, its never open or operational. Again, another huh? moment. 4) Employees are very unprofessional. While I'm getting checked out, the cashier casually pulls out his cell phone to check his twitter page and facebook account. WTF? I guess good customer service isn't much of priority at this particular Wal-Mart. In general, I'd avoid Wal-Mart but this one takes the cake. Just horrible. read more

I like this Walmart but hate it. Three stars could be generous. I hate it because I think it was the main reason that the Farmer's Market across the road went under. That was a plain jane grocery store with the most unusual foreign food and food items you could think of at cheap, cheap prices. I really like the design of this Walmart even though they undercut the Farmer's Market which I will likely mention again a few times. It doesn't face the main street; it faces the side street. The parking lot is small and surrounded by a smallish shopping center and I think a fuel area. If you're on the main road, you may not even realize it's here. They can get away with such a small parking lot as they have a parking garage under it. That is kind of fun when you leave to watch your cart travel on the special center escalator as you move along beside it. If you don't want to brave the escalator, there is an elevator that's large enough for people and their carts. It's a large Walmart, though I found it to be a bit impersonal, a theme repeated throughout the store. And, English may not be the primary language here which could be problematic for some. I used to go to the Farmer's Market here and buy stuff we can't get in Macon. Then they opened this place across the street and I decided, it's close, I'll finish what I need to get here that I would get in Macon. Save time, makes sense. Walmart does what Walmart wants to do. They undercut everyone. If the place across the street had jalapeños for 99 cents, they sell them for 97 cents. Then they run the competition out and guess what they do to the prices? Last time I was there I mentioned to the checkout girl that it was sad that this Farmer's Market was gone as it had so many interesting things. She launched into she was glad it was gone, had went there and ordered some prepared food they served at their lunch counter and how bad it was speech with her outside voice. Likely she ordered something without even knowing what it was. It's her fault if she orders rice and sheep lungs and doesn't know what it is. I hope it was rice and sheep bung hole although her mouth was nasty enough the way it was. They are short of English speakers capable of answering a simple question of where an item is located in the store, no question about that. Maybe they've fixed that. Who knows? That's one problem. The checker in her own little world, wearing her electric attitude is another another. The saving grace was the greeter. I politely complimented him on how nice the store looked but that I believed it had killed the business across from it and that was the reason I had come to this part of town. He was very polite and understood. He said that there was a lot of contravery about that store before it was even built. What he did then was very nice. He gave me directions to a couple of Asian markets nearby that might stock what I was looking for and Walmart wouldn't carry in a million years. The appearance, the politeness and kindness of this greeter is why I rated it at three stars. I wish Walmart would compliment a neighborhood rather than reformulating it to THEIR standards, then reconstituting it like it was a freeze-dried bowl of ramen noodles, some assembly required. read more

Always busy in this place but I prefer it over Howell Mill because I always get what I came for :) Walmart is going to be crowded...I mean, people want the most bang for the buck and Walmart gives you that for the most part. I like going to this location because they are always well stocked, I never leave there and have to make another stop to get something I usually get from Walmart. I have a love/hate relationship with this Wal-Mart. I like it because I can get basics such as toilet paper, canned goods, and toiletries at a better price than Target or Kroger. However, I have to put up with a dingy feeling store (even though it's pretty new), my guilt of supporting Wal-Mart, and the feeling that I'm getting checked out at every turn (it seems to be the local Hispanic hang out place). Additionally, part of me likes the lower deck parking so that I won't get wet if it's raining; however, I feel like I have to be more aware of my surroundings "just in case." So there you go. I walked in at 11:35 was In line at 11:40. They had 2 registers open with a bunch of customers. I wanted alcohol which is legal to buy until 12 on a Saturday night. When I got to the cashier it was 11:46 and she denied me my purchase. I asked for s manager and was denied. Then called 4 times between 11:50 and 12 while no one answered the phone in concern to my problem. Terrible service and terrible people. Absolutely garbage. I avoid all Walmart stores anytime I can help but when I do have to go in one I have a bad experience and today was no exception. I was running short on time and went in to pick up a BB gun for a birthday party. Apparently these weapons of mass destruction have to be locked up in the glass case now. So I spent about 10 minutes waiting for somebody to get keys for this case. Two different guys eventually brought sets of keys and apparently nobody keeps a key for the case. I didn't have time for them to call a locksmith which I assume was the next step so I couldn't even buy when I came there for. I hate Walmart. read more

CAn I give a rating lower than 1 star? This is the worse store ever, I will never go back again. The employees for the most part are rude and unhelpful. I get it there are no scholars or PhD candidates in the loot, but it would be nice if they could carry on a conversation, display some manners, and provide customer service that they are being paid to do. They spend more time trying to exhibit 'power' over the consumer to prevent an exchange than it would to just do the right thing and save the client relationship and honor the exchange. 12/19/2019 I placed an order at this Walmart for a Elsa's Enchanted Ice Vanity. The Walmart that I frequent did not have any stock, but Chamblee did. I ordered it at 11:45 AM. My email states that it would have been ready for pickup today before 8PM. So 2 hours pass and I go there before work to check on the status they said it wasn't ready and to expect an email. I work right down the street and planned on going back on my break at 8:00 if I hadn't received anything. At 7:35 I received a text saying it had been delayed and they would message me when it was ready. So I did not go back. By the time I got off at 11:30PM I still hadn't received anything. So I go back and run into an employee by the name of Sebu? I explain to her what was going on and her immediate response after everything was there was no one in pickup who could help me. I asked her if there was a way I could just get the item and they do whatever they have to do so that I can get it. She says no because of inventory. So I ask if I can speak to someone over her and she gets Deirdre. She was no help at all. I know they were trying to close but she as well as Sebu tried their to brush me off. Ferse saying that if there was a delay it meant that it wasn't in the store. But if it wasn't in the store it would have told me not in stock just like the Walmart where I live did. After pressuring her and expressing how much an inconvenience this was again, she called a guy named Kevin. After waiting for 10 minutes another lady asks if I had been helped. Explained the issue and she asked if Kevin had been called I said I guess. She call him through the Walkie-Talkie. He came up there I explained to him what was going on. Gave him my Information, he researched. He told me to hold on a few minutes later he cane back with the vanity set. I did not want to have to pay again but he cancelled the other order and to prevent any issues made me pay for another one. Which makes me question Deirdre when she said delayed pickups mean the item is not in the store. I had to use one of the circles as it doesn't even need that. I have called for two days now and only two people have answered the phone. The lady that answers the phone just sends me back to a constant ring and a have not been able to get a hold of the manager. I asked the lady if they have a radio and she stated no and no intercom so will just keep transferring me then nothing. Get hung up on and finally a kid from electronics answers and I asked him why no one ever answers the phone. His exact words was everyone here is fat and lazy including the management and also stated there communication sucks. I finally just sent our truck in to try and get our customers fork lift picked up to find out that one of the employees took the key home. If they would have answered the phone that could of been resolved quickly. Two why do you have employee's using a fork lift that has no brakes and why is your employee using a lift that was already sold to my customer. I am hoping the call in to there Corporate Headquarters will help because this is insane of what you have to do just to get something taken care of that should of only been a two minute conversation not two days now. read more

Today I experienced the worst customer service ever at the money center in my neighborhood Walmart. I've been to his Walmart twice before to pick up money at this money center. An older woman, Michelle, with a short, black hair cut, was so rude to me. I was picking up money, like I've done twice before with the same GA state Id. Michelle laughed, & told me that I wouldn't be able to pick up my Walmart to Walmart money because my GA state id didn't have my physical address on it but my P.o. box. I explained to the woman that I've done it twice before, & checking my history is available to her in the Walmart system if she didn't believe me. Both times before the Walmart workers asked for address & I received my money. So today, I then showed her my GA power bill with my physical address on it & told her I can provide my lease even thought I know Walmart doesn't require that. I asked for her manager, Michelle told me, she is the manager. I later demanded she get the next person in charge. Michelle took a picture of my GA power bill, walked away, & returned with a co manager, Imran, who was even more rude to me. I asked to see this policy where my p.o. box & prove of my physical address isn't good even for me to pick up Walmart to Walmart money. Imran told me to google the Walmart 1-800# & I replied I have no phone, he then instructed Michelle to write it down. Next, I asked for both of they names & Michelle refused to provide her last name because I was going to report them both for they lack of customer service and Walmart guidelines. I even asked Imran to get the next person in charge & he said no one works on a Sunday. Both they behaviors was totally rude & outraged. I couldn't believe Walmart employees could be so rude to a woman with her two children present. I couldn't believe the treatment I received at Walmart, I'm still in shock.
