This is a newer location, replacing the old location between the Ashford-Dunwoody/ Johnson Ferry split behind Henri's Deli. I popped in to pick up a few things. It feels more congested, in contrast to the huge facade. Though that is likely due to the Pharmacy-Drive Thru being adjacent to the store. Overall the visit wasn't the most welcoming, most of the staff didn't even greet *with* due contract, Dave for one manager in the meat section. I'd sooner stick my regular location - shopping was not a pleasure this trip. read more

This place is decent. They have sushi specials on Wednesday. $5 per tray for some of the sushi trays. Staff is friendly. This location has some good and bad. The cafe is more expensive than other grocery stores but still much cheaper than a restaurant. The produce and deli selections look extremely fresh. I ended up buying some food that was already past its Best By date by 6 months. I don't think it is worth taking back. read more

I occasionally shop at this nice medium/small sized Publix. I think Publix is a little more expensive overall than Kroger, but I also think the quality of the items is a little better. Parking is always available in the large and free parking lot. The employees generally look and act happy, and don't mind asking if you need help finding something as they walk through the store. There are some departments that are staffed all the time, like the bakery, the deli (which sells hot food), and the meat and seafood departments, and everything aways looks fresh in these and the produce departments. The employees at the checkouts are pretty quick and efficient at getting through the lines, but sometimes they are slowed down by Chatty Cathys who insist on either extending a social conversation or are writing a check to pay for their purchases. Shop here if you don't mind paying a little more money, but you'll also enjoy a neat, clean, well maintained and well stocked store with friendly employees. read more

This is another oldie but goodie grocery store. Located off Ashford Dunwoody road near Johnson Ferry Road in a shopping strip called Oglethorpe Crossing. It shares the parking lot with a CVS, Subway and a dry cleaner. Inside this store there is a SunTrust Bank for your convenience. I use to come here as kid with a relative that lived nearby and always had a good time here. They have very nice staff and the parking lot is always well lit at night and trash-free. Publix carries a bit more specialty items and international foods esp. British food items than Kroger. They have a better tea selection than Kroger and priced much more economically than Whole Foods. If you want to wait 45 minutes in line every time you want a pub sub, well then you came to the right Publix. It's actually shocking that there are employees in every aisle but one guy handling the deli, hot bar and sub station who clearly loves to take his sweet time. Overall this location is terrible and it's not my first bad experience here (my stupidity for coming back). My first terrible experience is when I went to buy some beer. I wasn't even planning on buying beer but I saw a beer that I liked and it was on sale in the middle of the aisle. In my head, I'm like damn a 12 pack for $10 sign me up! I go to check out and paid not realizing it rang up for $20. I tell the cashier and we both go to the beer aisle and see the sale price for the beer I grabbed. She said go to customer service and they will give it to you for free because it was labeled incorrectly and that's their policy. Okay BET, free beer! Because I already purchased beer they couldn't follow their policy so I asked for a refund but that wasn't possible because you can't return beer. So to say the least, I rather bake my own bread, grow my own veggies, slice my own deli meat and brew my own beer before stepping foot at this Publix. They should just turn this location into a Walmart for the terrible service they provide. read more

Love this grocery store. It's always clean and has the prettiest flowers. The 8 piece fried chicken is my go to when I'm in a rush.

I occasionally shop at this Publix for small things here and there, especially subs (lol). The biggest thing I've found that separates this Publix from other Publix locations is absolutely the customer service; every single employee I come in contact with each visit goes above and beyond to make my experience a pleasant one. And this is consistent; does not matter what time of day I go. Store is always fully stocked, they honor shelf prices, and go the extra mile to ensure an overall great shopping experience! read more

A customer service representative created an unwelcoming environment for individuals, particularly for those who identify as African American. More specifically, while waiting to be acknowledged by the representative, the unspeakable occurred. A White woman, who passed line, asked for change was assisted, quickly. However, instead of assisting others in line, the representative returned to counting money. Said differently, the representative did not acknowledge African American patrons until I asked if this line was opened. I have been a loyal patron at this store for some time now. Though this incident is isolated, it makes me wonder how often this type of behavior occurs. Unfortunately, this incident paints a horrible visual for Publix. read more

In the middle of the crisis we as Americans are going through, I just went to the meat department and they didn't have what I was looking for so I asked an employee for help. There wasn't much to choose from, the cut I wanted was only in a 2 pack and I just needed 1. I watched this same employee grab things and pick them up that other customers have touched. He walked in the back, takes the meat out the package with his bare hands. When I asked him why he did that he stated that "it would be cooked at high heat." Very inconsiderate, irresponsible, and most of all disgusting. I will never return back to this Publix again. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the employees at this Publix. There's a young man who works as a bagger who just comped me a new reusable shopping bag because the one I had brought in was torn, and we always bond over our cats. There's a young woman with red hair who is the most helpful person, and does everything quickly and efficiently. The woman who works the seafood counter gave my boyfriend some freshly fried catfish one time, and the woman who makes the sample meals up front is always so friendly - and her dinners are amazing. The young woman behind the bakery counter is so friendly and sweet, and always chats me up. There's a guy who's a bagger that teases me about my shopping bags (see above), and has talked to me about movies, and plenty other goings-on. Another young woman who works there as a bagger told me my hair was beautiful - she is just so kind. Yes, the store itself is always clean and well-stocked, and the parking's great, etc. but it's the people who work there that truly make a difference. read more

I am a big fan of Publix, compared to any other chain in Atlanta. Having moved here from California/Hawaii/Chicago, I have experienced the good, bad and ugly. Publix is a very clean store, with plenty of variety. I too must admit that the staff at the store is exceptionally friendly. They focus on the customer in front of them, and helping you out. The bakery items are great, the mini brownies with buttercream frosting in between the layers and chocolate on top, hits the spot every time. The fresh deli sandwiches are made to order and quick and easy. They take credit and don't require a rewards card to get the savings. read more

We've shopped at Publix Oglethorpe in Brookhaven since it opened. Today was our last shopping trip to this location and all others. When we arrived home with our groceries our Publix brand quart of milk had leaked all over the back of our SUV, through our garage, hardwood floors and finally the counter top, where it was noticed. We cleaned the floor, counter and car then returned to Publix for an exchange, also brought the carton of cage free eggs we purchased ...containing a broken egg. We were asked if we had taken pictures of our car. My husband replied no, we were busy cleaning up and asked for a $25.00 Publix Card for our trouble. The assistant manager said we could fill out a form and mail the completed form to Corporate. Corporate would contact us "to determine if Publix was at fault" We explained that this same leaking problem had occurred several times over the past year. The Assistant Manager did not respond. At that point husband said if we don't get a $25 Publix Card, Publix would loose a customer forever. Assistant Manager replied"that's all I can do. We left the milk and eggs, received a credit for the items and went to Kroger to buy milk and eggs. Publix knows they have a problem with milk packaging and have not addressed the issue all year. We are done running back to Publix to return leaking cartons, broken eggs, moldy organic strawberries, blueberries and beautiful looking apples that are rotting from the inside. I am obviously a Publix fan. I had no choice but to get used to it after I moved from NY to FL to GA and Harris Teeter closed. It took a long time to get used to not having bagel stores, non-franchised pizza places and delis not in a grocery store. Anyway Publix is the next best thing. Their customer service is exceptional. Their meat and produce selection is excellent. I am particularly fond of their new Italian plus 5 bread wheat bread. I have never been dissapointed. My favorite thing about Publix is going to the deli dept. I can just write down my order and come back and pick it up when I am done shopping. I hate standing in line. Any Publix that has no Lays Sour Cream and Onion Potato Chips and hardly sells any Gluten Free items is not somewhere I would ever shop. They always throw around my fruits and vegetables, every time I go there. I've lived nearby for 8 years and make a point of going to Kroger or Trader Joe's instead. read more

The incompetence of this Publix's deli department is amazing. Will have 1 person working the sandwich line which has backed up to 8-10 people and the rest of the deli staff will literally be socializing with each other in the back and will make eye contact with customers then shiftily look away and go back to talking pretending they didn't see the line. read more

As I am a west coaster, this is the equivalent of Safeway. More upscale that Kroger and something that you obviously pay for at the register. I would say that you can save quite a bit of money if you are in tune with the coupons and Buy One Get One weekly sales that they run. I do appreciate when they have some kind of sample that is being cooked near the bakery. I would recommend this place, but be warned that you can get a lot of the same products for cheaper at Walmart, Buford Farmers Market, and Kroger. I know that some people will not cross those lines, but you can. Because they are so close is the reason I run there as often as I do. read more

What do you want me to say, it's a grocery store. As far as the big chains It's my favorite. They don't mess with "discount" cards that you need to keep track of, so that's a big plus for me. Prices are good and they double coupons. It's always clean and the produce is fresh. The staff is friendly and helpful. They almost always have what I need unless it's really off the wall, then it's off to one of the farmer's markets. read more

Publix is my favorite grocery store. I use the Publix app every week to browse through the weekly ad - BOGO free items. I love the fact that you can buy one item and get half off so you don't always have to buy two. If they are out of the BOGO items, you can get a rain check at the cust service desk and come back to get it at the half off price. The Publix subs (sandwiches) are the best....and they are never stingy with the ingredients. This particular location is my favorite for many reasons. The store is always clean. They are really cool about returns - with or without the receipt. The customer service is phenomenal! You can ask any of the employees to help you find items, and they are always very helpful and have a nice attitude. This location's bakery also came through for our wedding cake. Our cake vendor cancelled on us the night before our reception, and they took our order and delivered cupcakes the next day! We will be forever grateful for what they did for us. If you are searching for a wedding cake vendor, no need to shop around...just choose Publix! They also have the best frosting. :) read more

I normally don't go out of my way to be negative, but I always have an issue with my pre orders in the deli. I will order the same thing, agree on a pickup time, and then come to the store at agreed upon time only to have to wait an additional 10 minutes and unnecessarily browse the store when I only came for my order. This has happened at least 3 times. On a positive note, they have always given me extra food in each of those instances. But then again, I feel like they make it seem like a consolation for their tardiness when in reality I would have had the extra food regardless due to how much they have to make. All of this has never really been a problem to me until just now when I attempted to place my regular order. I always call the deli; it rang for a while before someone answered this time. I tried to place my order and the attendant goes "let me transfer you to the deli"..of course I'm transferred to customer service, which I have to be transferred BACK to the deli. I have to wait on hold again before a different employee with a similar attitude answered. Fortunately she took my order but for the life of me I kept detecting attitude. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say IIIII was trippin. Anyway, we agreed on a time to pickup my order and I'm about to head there now. If my order is ready promptly, I will change my review! If not, well then here you go! Edit: I showed up a few minutes late to give them some wiggle room and my order was ready when I arrived. Let me start by saying I love Publix. But not this one. I have come here three times to get a pub sub. Every time around 8/8:30, now I understand that the deli closes at 9pm but each time I've been treaded rudely and made to feel badly because I showed up while they were breaking their stations down. I work in the service industry so I understand wanting to get your station cleaned to get out of work on time/early. However when I've asked for a certain meat I was told no, so I ordered something else that I didn't necessarily want. I only get lettuce on my sandwich, nothing else and when they didn't have any lettuce open she told me to get spinach instead and I said no, lettuce please. I was given a ton of attitude and eye rolling. This is nothing like all the other Publix customer service experiences I've had. I shouldn't be made to feel badly for wanting my order done right. If it was 9pm or 8:50 even I understand, but an hour or half hour before? Ridiculous. I was so happy to have a Publix right around the corner from my new place, now I have to find another location. Publix is one of my favorite places to shop for groceries or pick up lunch. But there seems to be a trend going on lately where they just don't care as much. Not just here, but I've been having these experiences @ other Publix I frequently visit. I hope this is not the case and that my recent experiences are the exception to the rule. Today I stopped here to get one of their delicious Boar's Head sandwiches for lunch. But the prep area where they make the sandwiches was a train wreck. When I stepped up to order my sandwich I noticed that all the meat and cheese was just haphazardly strewn about the counter. The prep area was sloppy and messy. The food had obviously been out too long. You can tell very easily when meat & vegetables have been sitting out too long. And my brief experience with the employee taking orders was unsatisfactory to say the least. Lunch time is a busy time for the sandwich bar @ Publix, but there were 3 employees working behind the glass, so there's really no excuse for the mess that I witnessed today. Needless to say, I passed on the sandwich. I also came across some beef in the meat dept that was past it's sell by date, which Publix rarely ever does. For these reasons I am docking a star. But I'm not ready to break up with you just yet Publix. If you can prove to me that you can go back to putting a great effort into our relationship then everything will be just fine. read more

I have experienced continuous problems at this Publix. The latest disappointment involves trying to collect a Western Union payment of $280. I waited until afternoon to pick it up so they would have the chance to have some cash in the customer service drawer. At 2pm on a Friday the man at the counter called a supervisor, Rosie, over and began whispering. They both just looked at me until I said "you don't have the cash?" I then asked why they offer the WU program if they can't fulfill orders. The woman, Rosie, put her hand up in my face, dismissing me as if I was asking for something unreasonable. I asked if they had cash in the back office they could bring out, she hissed at me and walked off. I was stunned at the low level of service they provided, or a solution to the problem. They couldn't be bothered. Rosie was particularly dismissive and rude. The man called after me as I walked off, disappointed, " this isn't a bank". Then stop offering banking type services. I will never shop at Publix again. Their prices are high and their customer service desks are worthless. read more

I normally don't visit this store, but after yesterday's visit, this will change. I went in specifically for a key lime pie, and Publix has the best. I was wandering around the store hoping for something creative for dinner and found Sara in the Seafood department. She was extremely helpful and had some awesome suggestions. Recommended the lobster alfredo and then proceeded to give me a list of other items for future reference. She was extremely pleasant and had some great ideas. It is a few minutes out of my way but I will most def be stopping at this store again. Thanks Sara!! read more
