R and I came here last night right after leaving a neighboring restaurant. The panaderia (bakery)…read moresection is what caught my eye, and I hoped their baked goods were fresh. This store is in a small strip mall off of Buford Highway. Parking can be an issue, but you will most likely find empty parking spaces closer to Buford Highway. We walked into this small, but well stocked, store that had maybe 5 or 6 aisles. I focused mainly on the quality of the baked goods in the panaderia section, and the quality and prices of the items in the meat section. The panaderia section had really good quality baked goods. One of the items that caught my eye were the large conchas (Spanish for seashells), which looked like really big seashells, along with big raised sugar donuts. The panaderia section is self serve. Each type of panaderia baked good is placed into its separate big compartment that has a plexiglass door so that you can see what's in the compartment without opening it. Customers are expected to use supplied tongs to place in supplied clear plastic bags so that the cashier at the front can see what is in the bag and charge the customer accordingly. R got a big concha. We both ate them later, and my sugar donut was soft and had an ok flavor. The big surprise to me was the meat department. They have a very big selection of meats - beef, pork, chicken. Some of it was marinated and ready for the grill. Before you come here to buy any meat, I suggest you know the current prices of meats. I saw some really good prices for some items (chicken legs and chicken quarters), while I saw some really high prices (chicken wings, some cuts of beef) on others. When I think of what I saw stocked in this store, most of the items are geared towards people who cook Mexican food. Lots of canned or packaged items (beans, rice, tortillas, sauces and spices) that you can't always readily find in regular grocery stores can be found here, along with many types of fresh vegetables used in Mexican cuisine. The employee at the cash register was very quick and efficient.

There is a drive-thru but first you must pass the overflowing dumpster. I already know what I want so this shouldn't take long. All of a sudden I hear "welcome to smoothie king..we only taking exact change". Surely they're going to follow up with 'everything is half-priced due to the inconvenience' but nope. So because I REALLY wanted a smoothie I go scrounging for bills and change...don't judge me. I don't have either. But now I'm in line. There is a car in front of me that has been waiting quite some time for their order and now a car behind me. I go big and throw it in reverse. As I'm passing the car behind me she asks if they're closed and I tell her about the exact change issue. She says "it's always something going on at this location!" Needless to say I will not return to this Smoothie King. And I'm sure they're ok with that based on the level of customer service I received. From now on I'll just stick with the brand new location at 3330 Piedmont Rd. The ladies there are friendly and they get your order made quickly!

They sell pickled vegetables in open buckets with no lid, in a refrigerated section that has black gunk stuck to its walls. It's just..... no. I hate that I don't have pictures to back up this review but the health safety practices in here are definitely questionable. Call me whatever you like, but it really irks me going somewhere and no one even bothers to try and speak English with you, nor refer you to someone who does if they can't. The service is generally poor, and the employees will act like you don't exist if you don't look like you speak Spanish (I'm sorry to say it but it's true). My [Black] husband does, and their attitude changed immediately as soon as they realize he's hispanic which is CRAZY to see in real time. They have 1000 security guards standing around that are constantly watching over every move... it's simply unfriendly and quite frankly, hostile. I just never like my experience here and it doesn't change each time I try to go back. I love a good international market. But my experience here was lowkey (and unexpectedly) dark and moody. I was ready to go not long after I walked in. I'd recommend City Farmers for produce and produce only. They truly have the best avocado prices in the area. I'll give them that.

I highly recommend checking them out however, with all the options it was veryy busy on a weekday around 3 pm so I would advise to come during their off hours if you can.

Located in Little Five Points, this ATL staple is convenient to a quaint neighborhood for shopping, dining, people watching and Atlanta culture immersion. The hot bar is phenomenal - unmatched. I particularly love the spelt biscuits from the weekend breakfast bar. The grits and tofu scramble are also good. If you're familiar with and love Tassili's, but don't love the wait, you can pick up the wraps here as well. And if you're feeling fancy - wanting to try some vegan, premade meals, take a look in the refrigerated case for everything from kale salads, chia pudding, kelp noodles, and vegan spaghetti to sprouted quinoa, collard greens, vegan shrimp and vegan Mac and cheese. If you prefer a more holistic approach to eating, drinking, and overall self care, this place is absolutely worth visiting. They had an impressive selection of products, from wellness drinks and healthy snacks to skincare, body care, and oils for skin and hair. Everything felt thoughtfully curated. One of the main reasons I stopped in was for sea moss, and they had great options available. I also picked up some healthy snacks while I was there and was not disappointed at all. I was only visiting the area, but this is definitely a store I would return to. The only downside was timing. I wish I had more time to browse because I had to rush in and out as they were close to closing. Their hours are something to be mindful of if you want to take your time exploring everything they offer. Parking was very easy since they have their own lot connected to the store. Because it was midweek and close to closing time, it was not busy at all, which made for a calm and easy shopping experience. Overall, this is a great spot for anyone looking to support their wellness journey with quality, holistic products. I just wish I had more time there and will plan better next visit. As far as pricing point, I would say it is you know comparable to a Whole Foods or a sprouts so if you are more of a bargain shopper, this may not be ideal for you although some things were priced well like some of their skin care I felt like you know may have been definitely compared to like market value.
