I stopped in to grab some water and vitamins. The shelves were well-stocked and clean, which was great to see. What really surprised me was how much Cleveland and Ohio apparel they had--clearly, they take a lot of pride in their city and state! I wasn't greeted or helped by any employees, but that's pretty typical for Walmart, so I wasn't expecting much in that department. read more

NO CHECHOUTS OPEN AT 7:30 PM ON A SATURDAY! I had to check out $400 worth of groceries by myself at the tiny self-checkout. If I had known there were no cashiers I would have gone elsewhere. Unacceptable! Poor management! read more

I like getting my gas and some occasional groceries here. I don't buy the meat usually as it's gassed for longer shelf life. Good prices on gas and most items you're looking for. Staff was mostly helpful during the holiday season when asking where to find things. Some of the other shoppers seemed a bit grumpy however. read more

THIS PLACE HAS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE. I was overwhelmed with the stress of being treated as a thief, that I called corporate office and had them on the phone so I could get some candy for mi diabetes, mi sugar got low with the event that I went through. Still haven't received a call from the manager. Won't shop there ever again.. Btw this was over a simple case of water that I simply forgot to scan, that's it.. paid for it, and was no manager on site.. none to be found. They shouldn't have people looking at your receipts who can barely read for themselves. People steal from this store all the time.. and all the Walmart stores.. not going back.. keep it.. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this Walmart. I arrived for curbside pickup, checked in through the app, parked in the correct spot, and waited for an hour. My groceries were never brought out. When I called the store, an employee told me my entire order had been given to someone else because they "didn't see me," even though I followed every instruction. When I spoke with the pickup manager, she apologized but offered no real solution and told me to contact the 1‑800 number. I then tried to reach the General Manager the next day and was told Rein was acting as manager that day. I left two messages requesting a call back and never received any response. Because the store gave my order away, I went home with no groceries or money for myself or my young nephews. The lack of accountability, urgency, or basic customer care from this location was extremely disappointing. This experience made it clear that customer service is not a priority at this store. read more

bit conflicted here. i got all of my tires replaced, and the gentlemen at the auto area were very lovely and funny. they got it done in about an hour, and that was great! can't thank them enough, my car feels better than it has in years. went on a walk, asked an older gentleman to point me in the direction of the bathroom, and he rolled his eyes at me and acted like i had just ruined his entire day. thanked him anyways, but yikes. also, when returning through the store to retrieve my car, i walked by a large pile of fecal matter in a main aisle. it had clearly been run over and stepped on. could very well be from a dog, but i'm not placing any bets, seeing as it is, after all, walmart. read more

This review is specifically to the automotive center. You can tell that they are absolutely understaffed and trying to do the best with what they have but on two occasions, they were incredibly helpful and I was able to get in and out with my service on again, two separate occasions very quick. The technician also took the time to go over a couple things with me and recommendations and I definitely didn't feel like I was being overcharged or up sold at any time. Zero pressure and I would definitely recommend bringing your car here to anyone. read more

Cancelled 2 scheduled appointments at last minute. Fed Ex has proof my paid for product delivered to Avon, Avon store can't find it. Stolen? Fraud? All Walmart says is cancel the order, after I'm out 2 half days of work. Don't use. read more

Check out people in the automated checkout area are rude and disrespectful. No kids, it is NOT Okay for you to just walk up and start rummaging through my purchases while I'm checking out. You have security for that. Do it again and I sue! Or perhaps I'll lose my temper and smack you in the face! And under NO circumstances are you EVER allowed to just walk up and start pressing the touch when I am in ANY stage of checking out without my permission. Careful of this everyone, these are poorly educated "people" who have no manners or courtesy, and will try to do these things when you look away for even a moment. This way they get to be assholes before you can even tell them to back off. read more

Comparatively speaking, this is one of the best Walmart's around. They have well-stocked aisles, although fruits seem to run out very quickly. The seasonal section is normally very large and for the most part the place is pretty clean. The checkout line generally moves pretty quickly, which is always a perk. The workers are very friendly and actually willing to help you find things. I tend to drive to this Walmart instead of the one closer to my house for these reasons read more

I frequent this Walmart often and I've never had an issue shopping here. The store is super clean and organized and the employees are very welcoming and friendly, although some of the older greeters may need some retraining. The parking lot is yuuge, so you can always find a spot. The prices are great and the self check-out machines make it fairly easy to pay and get out quickly. The produce has always been very fresh and the growing selection of organic items is nice to see. Walmart's motor oil prices are known to be the best around, so I always buy my oil and filters here. The tire and oil change prices at the Auto service center are also very affordable! Over the holidays, I utilized their in-store pickup for items purchased online, and it couldn't be easier! They have a waiting area with couches for you to sit while an employee retrieves your order. You're in and out in a jiffy! I like it! Say what you want about Walmart, but I'll continue to shop here for the convenience and competitive prices. read more

This Walmart used to be a five star one but it's gone downhill a bit. My review is in 2 parts, what I like and don't like about this store. What I like Prices/Availibity- if you live in Avon Lake, this is really it for a good place to do most of your grocery shopping, the local giant eagle is just horrible and over priced, similar case for everywhere else. When I need something- anything at all- and I don't wanna drive too far, I go to this Walmart. What I don't like -main complaint this new method of checking out is just horrible. I really wanted to give 3 stars from this single fact, the 4 is for all the good years here, but they now have a massive conglomerate of 30 self checkout lanes, and when you are buying more than 10 items, they really, really suck. They're really meant for small purchases but now they are the entire checkout, I don't think they have a single conventional cashier. I am spending 15 minutes ringing myself out working when I'm already beat from work or just shopping. When I need to buy alcohol I have to wait to get scanned by a clearly annoyed manager, same thing for using a gift card, and also same for using most coupons. I no longer enjoy talking to the people ringing me out, which is a thing I really like to do. The checkout is just horrendous, that's really it for this Walmart. it's a ton of work and it makes you appreciate baggers and cashiers. Not to mention they probably layed off 40+ workers and replaced them with computers, very sad to see this stuff in general with how our economy is doing. read more

Today I was shopping at Avon Walmart and asked a staff member if she could tell me where I might find apple cider and she responded "sorry I can't speak English!" And I said " REALLY!!" and she said "yeah". Very disappointed with the useless customer service and most of the shelves in the frozen food and meat areas were completely empty! read more

OMGOODNESS! I am in a cast and cannot put weight on my leg, I went to Walmart for the first time alone at 7:20 AM, I had confidence in myself. Some welcome/cart staff will bring a remote cart to you, he would not look at me. (I'm 48, by the way... not elderly or a "Karen") I unplugged a cart, it was at low battery already, so I chose a new cart, fully charged. By the time I was in profuse, 8 minutes later about, it started to beep... low battery, I quickly went back to the door as fast as the cart would to get the last cart. What would happen if it died and I was stranded??? The last cart was fully charged. You would think they would have full "juice", seeing that they charged all evening and it was around 7:30 AM. I went shopping and about 15 later this cart starting beeping- low battery. I was scared to be stranded. I asked not one, but two staff member to please help me. Both responded that they are just stockers. So... I had to turn the battery off, then on to get to the check out, I must have looked ridiculous on my journey to the front of the store. I did 2 other staff members who were busy. The cashier was very helpful, I'm thankful for her. The cart died near the restrooms near the exit, luckily there was an abandoned, unwashed Covid-cart (hahaha) there for me to grab. The cart boy from earlier was just side eying me as I struggled to move my bags. I left the dead cart there. I'm mostly sad for the elderly needing these carts, I don't want them to be stranded. Was I ignored because I'm just middled aged or is the staff just rude. The Walmart on rt. 58 is cleaner with helpful staff. Not going back to my local Walmart. They have been struggling with customer service for a long time. Rude employees. read more

I needed an oils change and this Walmart was recommended because they did a really nice job and even vacuumed the inside! I was excited! This Walmart is not very close to me, but I thought it would be worth the half hour drive. I got there, waited at the desk for about five minutes before even seeing another human. The guy finally came to assist me. He said the oil change would be at least 2-3 hour wait, but maybe even more. He told me I would be better off going to a place he recommended down the street. And to have a nice day. read more

So this place sucks in large part because the store manager has no regard for customers and lacks the ability to discern what is proper from what is fraud. Apparently there is a labor shortage because they obviously hired someone incompetent and lacking a minimal sense of common courtesy. I believe his family must be ashamed to share his name. Why? The store canceled an online grocery order without informing the customer and lied about why it was canceled, and then kept a hold on her money for 5 days, over a holiday, and then, get this, then offered her a store coupon for $10 while she was out $300 for 5 days and couldn't buy groceries for her kids over Halloween. Yeah. This place sucks and the store manager is now the poster child for what is egregious mismanagement and pure customer disservice. You suck! read more

Would not recommend the bakery for cake orders. We placed a basic cake order and were astonished at how bad the turn out was. The decorating was sloppy, photo image was partially covered, you could see the cake through the super thin icing coat, it was not even close to being level, they placed it on a cake board that was way too large so we could not place the cake on the cake stand we purchased, half way through the cake there was a hair in the center layer of the icing....the list keeps going. They told us we would get a phone call when the cake was ready to be picked up. Guess who did not call? We called ahead to make sure the cake would not be frozen so we could serve when we got home. Guess what was frozen upon pick up? The image we gave them for the photo transfer was given back to us folded/creased. We did not have time to get a replacement so we had to modify the cake beforehand the best we could. We also had to postpone our start time because it was frozen hard like we requested it not to be. We called the manager who told us to bring in the cake pics along with receipt 2 days later and she would refund us. We showed up with everything as requested and asked for her specifically as she told us too. Instead another lady came back saying the manager was busy and sent her to give us a partial refund. After showing the pics we were able to get the full refund we were told we would get and deserved. Im not sure if they are having staffing issues or if they had the cart crew decorating cakes that day but it was totally unacceptable. Honestly I cant believe it made it to the "finished/ready for pick up" shelf looking the way it did (not even talking about the hair that was in the center layer) We had another special occasion the following week and ordered from the Giant Eagle Market District in Westlake by Crocker instead. We had a much better experience and turn out with them. read more

Pretty cool Walmart, it was right over my hotel La Quinta inn & suites west hotel over the highway, it looks very well stocked and the items were neatly fixed. I usually shop at Family Dollar stores. First off, I don't give my money to chumps, so I'd rather go a couple miles down the road to Giant Vulture and pay more instead. Remember they used to brag, everything made in America, and that was a lie? That alone is good enough reason to not shop there. The one thing I do like is they are open 24 hours again, but how do you pay? How do you put up with loud, idiotic workers that the last thing they are doing is working? Why do prices online not match the ones in the store? They are so stupid that one of the last times I was in there was for a tent, they wouldn't sell it to me for the price on the website, which was ten dollars less so I went home and had it delivered the next day, for my ten dollars off. Does anyone have a brain that works there, or are their heads just full of air? These are questions I'm beyond wanting answers for. Other businesses appreciate and deserve my money. read more

I haven't posted in a while, and regretfully this is going to be a negative read. I'll keep this one short, Walmart Auto Center / Avon. Oil change, they failed to tighten the drain plug after changing the oil in my car. Glad I caught it, probably could have been a lot worse. Can I recommend them after this experience, I think not. Peace. read more

I need to stop going to Wal-Mart. Go through the checkout (with a cashier)....... I'm short 2 items, $10.50 of stuff. They are on my receipt... but I don't have them. I have to wonder how many millions of dollars of stuff they don't give to people, and it ends up back on their shelves to sell again. I can go to Marc's, a locally owned store, and they have an actual cashier aisle, where you can see your stuff, not in a little "space saving" turnstyle where you can't see your stuff, and don't realize you've been shorted till you get home. read more

Yucky The shelves used to be fully stocked at WalMarts. What happened to their inventory and Just In Time software? I should never see empty shelves at a WalMart, but I do at this one. My rating is purely based on "grocery pickup". Had a busy day and thought I'd order online and do the quick pick up so I could save time. At this point, I've been sitting here waiting for 20 minutes and still don't have my groceries. Placed online order for dog food 7 days ago, and still have not received it. 2 day shipping? Oh, and we don't charge you until it ships???? My credit card was charged 5 days ago and still no package. Tried to call the store. Waited on the phone for almost 40 minutes and no one answers the phone at customer service or the pick up???? Called corporate office to see where my package is. No one could explain to me how 2 day turns into a week or why no one ever answers the phone or why their policy says they don't charge until it ships. What a load. I used to spend my money at your stores. Thanks God for Amazon and Target. Never again Walmart, never again!!!!! read more

Typical Walmart, but the worst is the grocery pick up system. Horribly long wait, groceries not ready within the pick up window. Order was supposed to be at 11 (planned to pick up on my way home). Got a message they were running late, so got my car washed and took the kids to lunch. Now 1:30 and still no groceries. Order is supposedly ready, but been waiting for them to bring it out. This Walmart is "clean" due to the standards set by the franchise, but it still reflects the classic Walmart in many ways. Shelves are never stocked well, always items on floor or in wrong area, and the employees are dreadful. The produce is not bad if you look hard enough, and the best part of the whole store is the freezer section. The non-grocery part of the Walmart is bad...so bad it looks like there is some management divide between the grocery and the regular store. If you buy something under $10, probably not worth your time to return it as customer service is as slow as the DMV. read more

I like this Walmart much better than the North Olmsted one. I get what I need plus there are plenty of self checkout options so I don't have to deal with mean cashiers.
