I really like this Wal-mart...compared to the crappy Wal-marts I have by my house, I will go out of my way to drive to Addison to shop at this one. If you really want a depressing Wal-mart try going to the one in Northlake or Forest Park! Because of locations like this one I have been shopping at Wal-mart alot more! This is the absolute worst Walmart store I have ever been in. Just spent over 25 minutes waiting for someone to be able to check out. No self checkout lanes accepted cash and there was only one register open with a cashier. Call for a manager, call the store and ask for a manager, someone posing as a manager came up front and said they had a register open to just go there. Couldn't speak to anyone who understood me in English. The shelves & the items on the shelves are an absolute mess. after watching four other customers in line get frustrated and leave, I decided to follow their lead. It's Walmart - I understand lower prices means my expectations shouldn't be as high as regular, higher priced grocery stores. But comparing Walmart's to each other - to me there are 2 different Walmarts - the one in Addison that's mediocre and the one in Bloomingdale that is good. The Addison location compared to the Bloomingdale store 1) does not carry the same, large grocery assortment, 2) is frequently out of stock with grocery items, 3) produce is often more expensive and 4) very often has expired items on its shelves and in its dairy cases - not just by a day ... but frequently by days and even months - I've come to inspect every date on everything I purchase from the Addison store location. And staff planning for open registers / keeping them moving just doesn't seem as good at Addison store versus Bloomingdale - perhaps because it's a smaller store it doesn't have the profitability/ financial backing from corporate to have more employees working at any one time - but note the lines are longer and slower. Kudos to both locations - I have found that associates at both stores try to be as helpful as they can and are very positive and friendly - which is very appreciated. read more

They kept me on hold for 10 minutes when I just wanted to get a price on some tires. The girl who answered said she needed the tire size. I told her we have a Dodge caravan 1999. She said she needed the size of the tire. That's lazy bull because she could've pulled up the compatible tires they had in stock along with the prices if she went to another screen and pinched in the vehicle info. Lazy lazy lazy! This place is absolutely TERRIBLE! By far the worst Walmart store I have ever been too. The place is always dirty. Managers are very rude. The people here ignorant, not just some of the workers, but customers too (especially in the parking lot). The "fresh" produce is always disgusting. Everything looks like its been thrown around carelessly. The parking lot is never clean. They also claim to be a "supercenter," but I beg to differ. They have at best, half the things a regular supercenter store has. And everything is all crammed into such a small store. Most aisles are very cluttered and gross. How this place is still open and getting business is beyond me. I have honestly never hated a Walmart store until I first stepped into this one. If you can help it, don't go to this one. read more

Worst customer service ever. Don't even bother calling to ask a question, because they will either not answer the phone, put you on hold and never come back, or hang up on you. The produce and deli is overpriced. They never have registers open except the self-check out. The staff is obviously unhappy and they complain to customers about their unhappiness. read more

I had the worst experience last week with the tire center and will never go back to another walmart tire cnter. The only thing these knuckleheads did right was give me new tires. I ended up with a flat because even though I was charged with new valve stems they were not installed and the actual tire pressure was not checked because they do not know how to reset pressure sensor. Just go anywhere else you will be treated better! read more

I've been to many Walmarts in the Chicagoland area and by far this one is the biggest and cleanest that I've been to in a while, other than when I lived out in DeKalb while going to college in 2001! I do all my grocery shopping as well as toiletries as they're prices are AMAZING! Even their makeup you'll save a lot! My foundation made by Maybelline was around 7.88 and elsewhere I've see it close to 15.00!!! That's nuts and almost a 50% savings for the same thing!!!! I am also impressed with the cleanliness of the store and how helpful the staff is there! I live in the city and make it my one stop shop each week when I visit my parents! It's worth the drive if you're out this way!!! The store in Skokie/Niles I was less than impressed with as it's closer to my home though it's dirty, the staff is rude or never around to help, it's dirty and the customers are shady as well as they have a limited selection of food! I say hands down driving out to Addison is worth the trip! Sam's club is also in the same parking lot and there's also a Sam's club gas station!!! City dwellers the cheap prices will knock you over as there is NO COOK COUNTY SALES TAX!!! The pharmacy staff is very helpful and friendly, they too have very inexpensive prices for those of you that do not have insurance or if you have insurance but the insurance will not cover the cost of your medication! The pharmacy is not 24 hours, I think most of the week they are open from 9-9 but check out their hours online or call as I'm not sure, the store itself is open 24 hours and if you go at night yes they are cleaning and doing night stock so take it easy on the reviews as most stores do night stock and at night! Their shelves are always full and clean whatever time of day you go and if there's something missing from the shelf ask a staff member they will check in the back for you and if it's not there they'll let you know when the next delivery will be. The only downside is the awful construction off of Rowling (RT 53) and Lake Street, though it's the season so hold your horses I must say that is the worst part about my whole experience is the construction, I say forget the makeshift entrance and go down to the next stop light to turn into the lot! The worst Walmart around this area. I have been in here a few times since the remodel and it is always a hot mess. There are pallets with goods all over the store and you can't even get down some isles. It just seems really messy compared to other Walmart's and it does have a warehouse feel to it. read more

This is the first time writing a review, but I can not stay quiet. The service is terrible. There is no alignment among staff members. I was supposed to pick up a trial pair of contacts and she gives me one contact. When I asked her about the other, she said that I probably picked it up before. I would know if I picked up a contact and had to come back for another. This place is like a pot hole. You accidentally hit it once and avoid it in the future at all costs. read more

For the longest time I have brought my car to get an oil change at the Super Walmart in Addison, Illinois. While waiting for my car to to be oil changed, I spend the time shopping for other things. Pretty convenient. However, three times this year I have gone to this Walmart to get an oil change only to be disappointed that for one reason or another they couldn't get my car in for the oil change. It didn't matter what time I went. It happened again this morning, Thursday, October 26. I arrived at 7:15 AM and was told that there were three cars ahead of me and it may take an hour and a half to get an oil change. I said I would wait. But he said that he couldn't get me in. The reason? There were tires in one bay that needed to be moved. I wasted my time and I will now be getting my all changed now at another shop. I'm done with super Walmart in Addison Illinois. Obviously the automotive department of this Walmart store needs improvement. read more

Walmart Supercenter $ * Grocery, Department Stores 1050 N Rohlwing Rd Addison, IL 60101 Just left Walmart service .As I arrived to get an oil change which I always back into a parking spot so when they get the car ,all they need to do is pull out instead of backing out and turning the car around. Well like I started , when I arrived their were 2 mechanics standing front of my vehicle as I was going to park and 1 of them was waving his arms around , so I stopped and asked what's up ? He then yelled at me , YOUR IN THE WAY . What kind of people are they hiring ? Couldn't he see if they weren't standing in front of me , I could of pulled up a little more then properly park. How did I know another mechanic was going to back a car up. Then as I was parking he just gave me dirty looks so I just left as what kind of service is that .I don't feel that I deserved to be treated in such a way like this. I will never ever go to Walmart service department again as I prefer to pay more as long as the service and treatment is good. I guess sometimes you get what you pay for. read more

Each rare trip there reminds me why I hate it so much! I stopped visiting Walmart a few years ago after bad experiences including no sale items on shelves, issues with every coupon I attempted to use, long lines, etc... However, I gave them one more chance after seeing a great price on an item online. I ordered and paid for the item and got an email when to get it. So far so good. When I got to the store I waited in line at the customer service desk. When it was my turn I was told I was not at the correct desk and to go to another one, where there was no one. I waited and waited even though there were two people helping at the other desk and no one by me. I waited and waited more. About ten people that were behind me were helped while I waited. Eventually after ten people passed by I went to the desk and said that all I wanted to do was pick up the item I already paid for. She then told me I could be helped and she came over and got my item in a few short minutes. Overall it took more than a half hour. read more

I use the Addison Walmart when I get off work. This is usually after midnight, when I walk through the store to shop it is pretty quiet with very few customers. Most of the employees there seem that they are to busy to help or answer a question because they are busy putting away mass amounts of stock. That is until I met the cashier upon self check out. She was an older lady and I believe her name was Fatima. She was so pleasant to speak with, she asked me all the standard questions, like did I find everything okay and how may I help you and so on. But this was different she was not just saying these things like a robot, like it was something she just said to a hundred people. This was genuine, she really cared how I was doing and wanted to help. She was a pleasure to talk too and I felt like the bad experience I just had with other employees didn't even happen after that. Went in to purchase a TV, and got great service. Seemed like mostly young kids that worked in electronics, so they really knew what they were talking about. Never had this great service at other Walmarts, like Bloomingdale and Villa Park. Would definitely recommend going to this one if you live around the area. Store was very clean as well. Electronics had just as good service as Best Buy next door with lower prices! read more

Here we go. I wish I could give negative stars. Because this store takes the cake. Well I went to this walmart on 3/15/14. And apparently a bus had dropped of Mexican customers. I had said to my wife. Who btw is Mexican. That there was alot of mexicans here. Apparently a customer was offended and felt the need to question my private conversation. I tried to explain to her that I was speaking to my wife and I was sorry if I had offended her. She proceed to call me names and be very rude. So I had decided to be the adult and walked away from her and ignore the problem. Went about my shopping. Everything was fine. That's until I went to check out. That's when I was approached by Rosa and maria, the assistant manager and some other employee. And told that I had to leave the store and I would not be able to purchase anything. Keep in mind I had been shopping for over an hour. Apparently the girl that was yelling at me. Who was Mexican had went and told the manager that I had gotten in her face and threatend her and said I had made numerous threats to her and her family. Which was so far from the truth. But I had no say in the matter. I had asked to speak to the store manager And was refused.while the other girl and her family were allowed to stay and shop. I was totally offended. I drive a truck all over the United states and shop at Walmart often. I have never had a problem like this I think the professional thing to do would have been to ask us both to leave. In short me and my family will never shop Walmart again. I have contacted corporate and no response as of yet. I am left with the opinion that they just dont care about there customers. read more

I hate this Walmart.. I go out of my way to Bloomingdale's. Mainly Addison's is dirty, disorganized, and does not stock shelfs on a normal basis, I gone there several times in a week looking for common products only to find out they didn't get it.,, They get trucks in every other day but somehow it didnt get ordered even the staff tells me to go to Bloomingdale as they are more reliable on stocking items. Also Management is very scarce until you start complaining I complained about a cake I ordered. When I picked it up it was not the cake I ordered. The team member helping me called the bakery manager and 15 minutes later he came over with his onturage (must have been hanging out together somewhere off the floor) he was not happy to be involved as he yelled at me telling me that if I spent $80.00 on the cake I would have gotten the cake I wanted. I called corporate which told me they were going to have the Store manager call me which never happened. Walmart only cares about bottom line not customer service. In all if you can afford to go to Target go there they are a little more pricy but there Customer Service is better!!! Otherwise go to Bloomingdales Walmart, Cleaner and better store by far.. read more

This particular Walmart was remodeled to be a Super Walmart and it is just a mess all the time. I can't put my finger on the exact problem but the store just does not flow well. There is way too much stuff in the aisles being sold and also being stocked at the same time and I constantly get blocked. My husband is disabled and we bought $200 worth or groceries last night and they would not open a register for us. The self serve registers are too small for serious grocery purchases. I think it's obscene that Jobs are being replaced by these machines and that you don't even bother to open a couple registers after hours. At least at Meijers they will open a register if we ask. Also they flow much better. You should model this store after that one and their grocery prices are no great deal. I find better prices at Meijers all the time. The only advantage to going to this Walmart is that it is by my house. read more
