I'd gotten most of what I needed at ALDI but stopped here for a case of water and some other fill in. I just don't trust Walmart for fresh things that can go back, such as cheese and meat. The store was decently stocked and I had no problem finding a shopping card that worked. Water aisle had a good selection. Bathrooms at the front of the store were clean. I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received at Walmart Addison, particularly from the front-end manager, Donna, and the associates. Less than 24 hours after purchasing a product I thought was a vacuum for pet hair, I tried to return it after realizing it was actually a spot remover that didn't meet my needs. The associate who sold me the product directed me to the wrong section, and I didn't question it since they were an employee. After using the spot remover for only 5 minutes, I attempted to return it, but Donna refused, citing that I had used it. Despite explaining the situation, she wouldn't budge or offer an exchange. To make matters worse, when I tried to leave the store after the return issue, an associate stopped me and demanded to see my receipt. I explained that I had thrown it away after deciding to return the item, but they wouldn't let up. I felt harassed and disrespected by the associate's aggressive behavior. The cherry on top was that Donna's stance on the return was inflexible, and I was expected to purchase another product that would meet my needs, despite the initial mistake. The customer service was rude and unhelpful. Given the circumstances, I expected more understanding and flexibility from the store. If you're shopping at this Walmart, be cautious, and make sure to keep your receipts, even if you plan to return items. Came to the store with the gift card issued for Walmart and Sam's stores. When I tried use it as payment cashier refuse to accept the card. He went to talk to the manager but after 5 minutes came back with negative answer. I decided that I'm gonna talk to to the "big guy" and went to the front of the store to ask for manager. At first lower level manager came to talk to me and said that she does not know this gift card so she can't approve it. I asked for her boss and he came over looked at the card and said that he is not going to accept this card. I asked why not if on the card it says for use in Walmart and Sam's stores , he rudely answer that he does not have to tell me why. I left this store and went to Sam's store and another Walmart where they had no problem accepting my gift card. There is something wrong going on with management at this location. I wanted to buy something in the electronics department. The person running the electronics department, asked me to wait a minute while he checked someone out. They were buying a tv. He proceeded to check out their entire cart. Probably 30 items, in the electronics dept. The other person that was waiting before me left. I tried calling the store to get assistance, the phone rang and rang. 10 minutes later, he was done checking out the customer. I told him, you sure took your sweet time, he laughed. I asked what was funny? I asked if it was normal to check out an entire cart in the electronics department. He said, if that's what the customer wants. I told him I'm a customer too. He finally came to help me but he, the only person handling the electronics department, could not open the cabinet to access what I waited to purchase. He tried 3 different keys. How is the only person available to assist customers not able to access merchandise? He never once tried to escalate or ask for a superiors assistance. He just kept saying "I'm the only one". WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING: When ordering online ALWAYS check for three things. 1. The drivers tip. The computer ALWAYS puts a 10% tip on the order for the driver. You can change it to No Tip and add a tip later if they do their job. I never tip anyone BEFORE they do the work. 2. The payment. The computer will ALWAYS use a default card. If you need to change it you can to use an alternate card. BUT BUT BUT....if you go back to the order PRIOR to ordering and add or take something away...WALFART's computer is programmed against the consumer. It will ADD the driver's tip and AND change the payment to the default payment you did not want to use. This is terrible for people who may overdraft one account which is why they choose another. As far as giving the driver a tip even though you zeroed it out, and the computer adds it back in is AGAINST your personal decision. SO PLEASE WATCH BEFORE YOU COMPLETE AN ORDER THAT IS IS WHAY YOU WANT NOT WALMART. The 3rd is if you select you will be there to SIGN for the order, it may change along with the other things. IF you are unable to carry things up flights of stairs, Walfat says so what...so make sure it stays selected as YOU WILL BE THERE to sign for the order for they WILL leave stuff outside and not bother to tell you and if you have neighborhood thieves, they WILL steal your order. If you have any refridgerated or frozen goods, they will melt. This is just a public service notification for anyone ordering from Walmarts in the country. read more

I went to the costumer service, and I wanted to return a soundbar and then they sent me to the electronics to make the return. But once I got there I was waiting in line I was the only costumer there and there was a lady with a "Team leader" on her name tag with her cellphone out and waited there for 5min until I had to say hello to get helped. They need to improve with their customer service skills. And they couldn't return it, so I went to the streamwood location and they returned it with no issues. Very bad customer service. Spoke to a so called manager on the phone. Was acting like child telling me that I should pay more attention to what I order. I bought tires on walmart.com and I just needed the installation for two tires. I assumed they would remove the balding tires. Well no, they removed my good tires and put the new ones in back. The manager said they always ask where I want the tires. And they did not. So it's his word against mine. They obviously took my good tires to resell or keep for themselves. Don't go here. Don't buy your jewelry here! I waited an hour at the jewelry section trying to make a purchase. I was told the jewelry representative was on lunch and they were unable to tell me how long that would take. Then after calling the person again they were allegedly not in the lunch room anymore and nowhere to be found. The jewelry person was called over 5 times and I had over 3 employees try to find them. Never again will I purchase anything at this particular Walmart. Today at 4:30pm it was crazy busy. The lines at check out were long. I am ok with waiting in long lines as long as I can see that the cashier is doing his/her best to quickly check out each customer and keep the line moving. That did not happen today. I'm watching our cashier check out the people ahead of us and she is slow as molasses. OMG, she's slowly picking up each item,.... looking at it...., finally scanning it.... putting it down.... picking it up and slowly, slowly putting it in the bag.... then making idle chit-chat with the customer... Since my husband was with me, I was able to step out of line while he kept our space. I flagged down a supervisor and asked her to tell our cashier to please scan more quickly. She nodded 'Yes' to me, turned around and never said anything to our cashier. When I got close enough to the cashier, I asked her if she could please scan more quickly. She said 'The lines have been long all day.' I said 'So? I'm asking you to please scan more quickly.' She was polite but her comment did not make sense to me. I would like to recommend that the Walmart cashiers take a field trip to the Aldi's store that is right next to their store and watch their cashiers work. I went in for a simple oil change and air filter and ended up paying $200 due to my car not being drivable after service and having to take a half day at work due to not having a car after the oil change. I spent over 200.00 dollars on food and 2 boxes of Nicoderm patches. When I got home the 2 boxes of patches were empty just the instructions. I went back to the store with my receipt and they told me I should of checked the boxes and they would not refund me. It cost me 96.00 dollars. The customer service was not professional and was not at all concerned that people were stealing. Because I bought the boxes that were tampered with they were fine with taking my money. Pure garbage store. I have lived in the area for over 10 years and never stopped in to this location because it was never convenient for me. However, I was on my way home from running errands one day and decided to stop in since it was on my way to pick up very simple items. 2 of the 5 items I needed were not even available. The produce I picked up seemed OK at the time, but the bag of green beans looked like it had bad freezer burn the very next day when I took it out of the fridge. The store itself was in shambles. Nothing was easy to locate and stuff looked thrown on the shelves. The checkout process was a nightmare. Granted I have no control over how people in front of me pay, but everyone was paying with checks or food stamps (debit card style) and most of them had no idea that they didn't have enough money on the card which held things up further. I went in to get a fishing license at 7 AM I had to wait for the guy to show for like 25 mins (other employees requested help on the intercom twice for me ). As soon as he gets there, he has an attitude and then ultimately he says he can't do it and that I'll have to call a number then tells me he'll be right back and I never see him again. read more

Purchased an Apple Watch online and pick it up in store. I would rate the pick up experience a 4-star. The online experience I probably would only give 2 stars, I've attempted the purchase twice and it was cancelled by Walmart. My credit card company says that they approved the transaction on their end but Walmart cancelled it. I contacted online chat, and they suggested I try again in 30 minutes. I tried a third time, this time picking it up myself instead of delivering to my house, and I didn't have a problem with it. Later in the day, about two to three hours later, I got an email notifying the purchase is ready for pickup. The pick up was rather fast, it took about five minutes because there was another person in front of me. It was a smooth experience. I would shop here more often because of the Walmart Pickup service. If I need anything, i will order it during the day online, and pickup after work. Sitting in traffic on an exit ramp for a half hour makes a crabby Laura. Finally getting off that exit ramp only to enter a terrible Walmart makes a livid Laura. I've never been here before. I never wanted to come here. But after a fruitless search from some specific crafting items from a craft store, I passed up this Walmart on my way home and decided to give it a shot. The word "pass" is used lightly as I sat next to this Walmart on the exit ramp for a half hour. It was RIGHT THERE but nope, I had to wait thirty minutes for the rush hour/construction/badly timed stoplights to flow. Once inside, I was baffled at the dim lighting, cramped aisles, and overflowing mess. I swear, I've never seen a Walmart as terrible as this one. I walked around the entire store twice before finding all the things I was seeking because nothing made sense. Makeup overflowed into food and baby clothes while crafting items were near toys and whatnot. OK, maybe that wasn't exactly it, but the product placement was ridiculous. Whoever designed the layout was tripping on acid. And this place was recently remodeled?! I felt like I had gone back in time to when all Walmarts were notorious for being a mess (I know some Walmarts have really cleaned up their stores). This Walmart's only saving grace was the cluster of self checkouts near the exit. No wait, no lines, no stress. I swear, it was like God put that there so I wouldn't have to leave the store feeling completely infuriated with my three small items. That self checkout area took a huge weight off my shoulders. So this is where you take your little kids at 11:30pm on Friday night and let them run around like animals. Just in case you were wondering... I've been in here a few times and it seems like a larger footprint than most other Walmart locations. This is good and bad. There's plenty of room for all those necessities plus plenty of room to sell me a ton of stuff that I don't need. Unfortunately, since it's so big, I walk around for what feels like forever and end up spending more than I ever anticipated. Most recently besides being a madhouse at almost midnight, this is the same time that they stock the shelves at this 24 hour location. This means that those confined to a wheelchair or those with poor vision should steer clear. We were literally climbing over stuff to get from one end of the aisle to the other. I get that they need to stock and overnight makes the most sense, but it was a disaster area. Finally, we learned that self checkout is the only option at this time of night. So, if you aren't a fan of the system stopping you with every item because it doesn't think you bagged it, you may want to shop at a time when the registers are staffed. read more

So, my big beef with this store is the strange layout. Most all Walmarts are laid out the same way. This had a really narrow entrance and the women's section was tucked somewhere in the middle and hidden from site -so much so that I actually looked around for it and never found it. I had asked (out of curiosity) on my way out and from the front door could then see the sign. Ah well. Even more money saved for me. I ran in, bought some sunglasses and headed out. Otherwise, seems like an OK store. I much prefer Target and some of the shiny, prettier brand-new Walmarts. I'm not out this way too often. The selection here is rather limited and the layout is confusing to say the least. The staff is never friendly and has no sense of urgency whatsoever. From what I know from working for Sam's Club and closely with Walmart associates, they are supposed to focus on how many items they scan per hour...these people must be seriously lacking in that area. Returns can sometimes be a hassle, not terrible, but I think Walmart is really cracking down on their policies and it's more frustrating for honest customers who need to return things when all the people trying to exploit the system take advantage of it. Super frustrating. Called the auto center last night about getting a car in first thing this morning, and they told me they open at 7. Got here at 7 to avoid a line of cars, and all the doors are locked. Called the store to find out if they had any associates available inside and maybe they just hadn't unlocked the back yet, and they tell me that the auto center doesn't open till 8. Called the first time and asked the question, and the associate who answered simply said hold, then I was transferred and no one answered after 5 min of ringing. Hung up, called again, and the same operator answered (this time annoyed with the question). I calmly explained how no one was answering and asked if she could find out for me. Again, annoyed, she said she didn't know, and put me on hold. I waited this time for 10 min, hung up and called back. This time, someone else answered, she checked, and had an answer to me in 30 seconds. I know Walmart isn't known for their customer service, but this is insane. Slightly lower prices aren't worth dealing with this. Especially when asking such a basic question like hours of operation. read more

This Walmart is fine. I can not complain....too much. I shop occasionally here because its cheaper tax than the Walmart in Streamwood. They have a pretty decent staff but their layout is a little cramped. They have everything that is in the larger stores with the new layout, but less of each item and minimal floor space to move around freely. And forget it around the holidays; there is one way for your cart to go and if someone, God forbid, stops in front of you, they hold up the line of moving foot traffic. They put skids of product all throughout the store, so the aisles are jammed with product. I would almost call it unsafe if there was an emergency, but who the hell am I, the fire chief? Moving on....on my second to most recent trip, I had purchased two bottles of hair gel. I selected one of the two bottles in particular because it had a coupon attached for savings of $2.00 when you purchase two of these items. I stood at the check out line and had the young lady argue with me about the use of this coupon because it said it had to be used on Pantene "Styling" items. Gel is a styling item, genius! But she did not agree. I stood there for about a minute arguing with her about it and she won. Let me remind you, kids, **THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT**. Sadly, they do not follow this policy at this store which is why they have lost that second star and potentially a customer. One more thing I do not understand. The main reason we were in the store the other night was because I wanted to pick up a game for the Nintendo Wii. I found the item on the shelf, but it was $5 more than it was online. I asked the gentleman that was working in that section if he knew if I could buy it in the store for that online price. He told me I could not. I later went home, bought it online for pick up at this same store and was able to pick it up the next morning!!!!! Because it was in stock at that store, they could pull off the shelf and I picked it up at the customer service counter. I do not understand this. I should have ordered on my phone while standing in the store and walked to the counter and picked it up on the spot. I didn't realize that they actually will pull from the inventory at the store to fill an order and sell it only online at the discounted rate. Had I known...Guess I learned my lesson. I will continue to shop at my store in Streamwood and if I need to order from the internet, I will do my pick ups at this store so that I save on the tax and possibly an additional savings for ordering online. read more

One thing that I wish were different is the cleaniness of the location. It is average. The floor ususally looks as if there is high volume traffic but this would be the case for a 24 hour location. i only stopped cause I needed mascara. This is Wal-mart down to the basics. I looked for a Chicago t-shirt,.God forbid I would never get a team's sport shirt other than the Chiefs, ands Wal-mart didn't have any plain Chicago t-shirt. I did find a pretty woven scarf with a Venice scene around the border for only $5.00, and a very cool grey hoodie with swirls on it for only $18.00. It is lined and great for the money. This Wal-mart wasn't very well stocked. But did have a nice grocery area, and pretty produce. I don't choose to shop at Wal-mart, but I had no idea where anything else was. I used the self-check out. Something I've not done in Kansas City, but I did it here. The lines were slow, as was the "Burb traffic. It's right next to a Best Buy and a Denny's is nearby, as well. read more

She refused to discount $15.00. I should be responsible to pay the $1.67 difference. She was very rude and told me we don't do that here? What ? I was there Saturday, April 30 at 10:00 am . This Walmart is getting worse and worse. It wa great when it first opened but now it's like a pigpen. I went in today for cat food and purchased a few other misc. items. One was a pair of men's pants that I like for work. Instead of having the pants on the shelves by size, it looks like they just took them out of the box and threw them on the shelves. I had to go thru every pair to find my size. How hard would it be to sort them by size so the customer will easily find their size. I think that would keep the shelves more organized. Every department is a mess. I think I will go in for cat food but shop elsewhere for other items. As for the pants, I can order online and pick up. Easier that way. read more

Consumer Experience Reaches a NEW LOW. Shopping at this Walmart will make consumers appreciate other retail establishments. It is clear that the low prices come with serious costs, both direct and indirect. This is only Walmart where I have purchased anything of value. In virtually every case, I have been seriously disappointed. Walmart Addison, IL Greatest Hits: 1) Mechanics totally forgot to reinsert dipstick after an oil change exposing my engine to contaminants and oil loss. - 2014 2) GE dehumidifier purchased but the [apparently] unopened box had a used, much older Haier model stuffed in it, making me look like the scam artist when it was immediately returned. - 2009 3) One of three wooden room dividers was 1.5 inches shorter than the other two. Sadly, I didn't realize the discrepancy until a year after the purchase due to the placement of the room dividers in different locations. - 2005 Apart from these problems, there have been myriad glitches with this store. The auto department is incredibly disorganized. The staff is incompetent and unable to answer basic questions or even pick-up the phone. After the dipstick error (above) in 2014, it is clear that even having the most basic service done here is potentially dangerous. Apart from the calamitous auto service department, problems are scattered throughout the store. There are constant hiccups with the self-checkout machines that cause significant delays. Items are frequently misplaced or have no visible price. The customer service desk is woefully understaffed by individuals with poor communication skills. In general, the employees appear to be totally disorganized and in poor health. After such comments, the question is really why I still shop at this Walmart? Principally, 1) it is open 24 hours 2) there are no Pep Boys in the immediate vicinity of my family home 3) it has a broader selection of merchandise than Target . However, after the 2014 dipstick error, I won't have any auto service done at this location. There is no way to justify the headaches and hassles with this store for the modest price savings over Target, Aldi or Pep Boys. read more

I called to check to see if they had a product in stock (specific window AC unit). I called and was told to hold. I waited 5 minutes before hanging up and calling back. "He didn't answer?" the woman asked. "Let me try again." Another 10 minutes ago by and I hang up. I call back a third time and the woman says she'll transfer me again and the mysterious "he" will answer soon. I sit and wait another 10 minutes and she picks up the phone and asks if I'm still there. "Yes," I say. "Okay, he's on his way. It'll be just a moment. What is it that you're looking for?" It's after three calls and 25 minutes she asks me for the make/model of the unit I'm looking for and the SKU number. After she puts me on hold for the fourth time, I decide I might as well drive over there. I'm bitter at this point because you can't put someone on hold and pray they hang up after a few minutes. I want an answer to my question. I'm turning onto Rte. 53 when this same woman answers and says curtly "We don't have it. Sorry. Bye." OH OKAY. Thanks for wasting 35 minutes of my life and being a jerk to me because I asked you to look for something. Aren't there computers that tell you the store's inventory? Who is this "he" that you said would keep answering the phone but never did?! At this point, I also felt this woman told me they didn't have the unit I was looking for just to get me off the phone. Since I was literally a block away, I decided I would check for myself. Turns out she was telling the truth. With the time I spent on the phone (35 minutes total), she could've checked herself and taken care of this whole thing in less than 5 minutes. read more

We are daily customers for as long as Walmart has existed on Route 53. It has never been so poorly run or poorly stocked as it is currently. Regularly, we cannot find Vanilla Silk soy milk in the dairy cases; nor Blue Bunny Strawberry-Banana frozen yogurt, or Oreida frozen french fries, etc.: just the Great Value brand which we all know Walmart owns and pushes. Also, I wanted to make a jewelry purchase the other day, and I indicated so on their customer service pad; and I waited and waited and waited...finally, I left, vowing to purchase the item online at Amazon.com. Does Walmart think they are so successful that their customer needs and desires no longer count for anything? If thing don't change, we will do our grocery shopping at Jewel or Caputo's; they seem to care what their customers want to purchase. read more

This store has been remodeled to create what is now a Wal-Mart Supercenter. My issue with this store is that the square footage wasn't originally intended to accomodate Wal-Mart Supercenter, so everything feels packed together and closed it. It's the same problem at the Streamwood store. I had to stop in to pick up dog food. Since this isn't my home store, I ended up walking around the entire store before finding the pet section. Not fun. But the one saving grace of this location is self-checkout registers! Not every Wal-Mart has these, but they are a blessing when you only have one item in a busy store. I had no wait at all. The exit is really narrow, and there's a brick wall between the exit and entrance door. More remodeling needs to be done. read more
