Restaurant Depot has a great selection of food and beverage itmes and at great pricing.

This is a great place to go if you use anything in bulk. I go here for chicken and it is always fresh! The price per pound cannot be beat for any cut. If you are not a restaurant owner you can get a free 1 day pass but keep in mind you cannot return anything. They also have deli meats that are hard to find. read more

I only have love for Restaurant Depot. It's where restaurants shop. It's Costco on crack. While it's typically a private wholesale supplier for businesses, they've opened their doors to the public during COVID due to the decline in sales from restaurants. Everything is significantly cheaper than you can find in grocery stores and the food and products are endless. Need chef knives? Got it. Five pound bags of premium Belgian chocolate? They've got that too. Plugra butter? Check. Fifty pound bags of flour when grocery stores are out? Yes. One pound bags of yeast. -Can't find that in many grocery stores either. Cleaning supplies? Everyone be careful of the old lady from reception. Been waiting for the certain item for at least 20mins which I have no idea why really slow time, I've been waiting that longer. The old lady had really really BAD attitude, she acted like I owned her 1 million dollars! She's like I asked you to wait then you just wait. Holly cow! Have no idea if I am Asian. At the end still didn't get my item. That is really ridiculous. read more

This is a great place for businesses of all sizes to come and pick up those bulk items that you need to make your business run more efficiently. It is a huge warehouse type store that you can only shop in if you have a business license or EIN number, which is cool because they are really never too crowded (except during rush hour...not sure why). I personally love coming here for their baking type items that I use regularly in my catering business, some of which I find cheaper at Costco, but most things I get from here. Think buttermilk for half the price of Wal-Mart! Yeah...awesome! They also carry an abundance of packaging products, service ware and prep stuff. The customer service has been super friendly and helpful every time I've gone in and are even patient with my two crazy boys in the double stroller...yeah...I'm the only one I've ever seen in this place with a stroller, let alone a huge ass double wide!!! I will definitely keep coming back here to keep my prices down and support a great business! read more

The prices are crap. Far to expensive for this sort of place. Their 2 liter of soda is 20 cents more than the local supermarket!!! Their frozen goods are more expensive than GFS and Sams Club! The only thing that IS good about this place is the large selection of bulk meats and seafood. But again, it just isnt cost effective to shop here much. read more

I work/live closer to the Restaurant Depot in Alsip. However, I will make the additional drive every time because if the service I receive at this location. In my opinion, the selection is a little better here and any time I need help or advise, someone is always eager to help. The past few times I had the pleasure of meeting up with Mike Lee in Smalleare, and he was a ton of help. Mike was very knowledgeable about the products and helped make my visit a pleasant one, even though I was pressed for time. I love Restaurant Depot, I just wish they were a little closer to where my business is - like next door lol. I can't say enough nice things about Vince in Frozen Food/Freezer area and Michael Lee. Michael is always there to help and offer suggestions if something is unavailable. He's great at making you feel like priority one no matter how frazzled his day. His knowledge of culinary is superb and is a shining asset to them, if they lost him it'd be a big blow to all of us and them. read more

The employees here are awesome especially Kyle and Mike in smallwares! They had to move 3 pallets just to get me the glasses I needed and were super nice and helpful took time to ask me my name even! Every time I'm in there everyone always says hi or acknowledges me!! read more

I visited the Lombard location a few times and I will not come back. The managers scream and yell at their staff in front of customers. They are also rude and give customers attitude. One of the cashier's was trying to help me and the manager snapped at her right in front of me. I felt so bad for this poor girl. Someone from corporate needs to do a clean sweep and hire new managers. Unbelievable how they treat their staff and customers. read more

Huge store with almost everything you could possibly need for your home or for restaurant business. Their frozen section has great selection and sometime fresh fish at really good prices. I come here about 3-4 times a month and get all the necessary items for my home and my restaurant. The parking lot is huge and pretty convenient to go in and out of the store. Be prepared to buy everything in huge quantities but extremely good prices. read more

Awful customer service and perhaps the most unsafe forklift drivers. I almost got hit more than once.

Up until today I have always had great experiences at this location. The staff is usually friendly and helpful. Today I went to buy chicken for work. I grabbed four cases of the lower priced chicken and a couple other items. When I was being rang up the price was not what I had seen. The cashier was very nice and said I could go get the tag so they could fix it so I walked to the back a second time and picked up the tag and took it to the front. I was then told by a different cashier this was the wrong chicken and I would have to go back and switch it if I wanted the lower price. I went back a third time and showed one of the people in the meat area so they could change it so others didn't have to make 3 trips to get an item. The three trips across the store didn't earn the one star. It was the hateful way I was treated because they had made a mistake. read more

This place is poorly managed and ran. Employees are not helpful, though I have seen an uptick in employees attitude in the past few months. The wear house workers drive the forklifts with total disregard to guests safety. Cashiers are typically not very friendly, and they tend to be out of most everything I go in there for, most recently salami, cranberry juice, salt, mop head, and floor mat. As you can see it's a pretty diverse list. In addition to the above, there is a total lack of common sense with those of authority. I tried to purchase a couple sleeves of receipt paper. There was only one box of the size I needed, and there were several sleeves of rolls missing from the case. Upon checkout, they would only sell me the case. I explained that they don't have a case. I was told they couldn't sell me any then. I just don't understand the reasoning, what are you going to do with the remaining broken case? In addition they have 12 packs of soda that is only sold as a 24 pack, yet the two 12 packs are not bound together in any way. This process slows down checkout and could easily be avoided with a little tape. Bathrooms are usually disgusting and not always appointed with paper products. Pricing is fair, but never such a great deal that I feel the need to have to go here. I typically only go for a few items, but more and more frequently, I question my decision to come at all. I have been coming for almost 20 years and never have been overly impressed, but it seems as though things have been on a steady decline over the past decade plus. read more

We just tried Restaurant Depot today. I think we did okay. We went for a few specific items and found most of them without a problem. It was not at all crowded for a Saturday so that made the trip quick and painless. The employees are somewhat clueless. Honestly, A-OK really sums up the experience. We will go back and give it another try, but I don't know that this is going to be a regular haunt for us. read more

You know what you are getting when you go to restaurant depot. The lower end of the literal food chain that allows Mom and Pop places survive in the restaurant business. With that being said, the staff here is friendly and hard working. They do their jobs with diligence and the occasional streak of patience for that restaurant owners that thinks he is the center of the entire universe when he is trying to be as cheap as possible. This place is every chef's dream. They sell bulk but they also sell single items in case you don't want to buy the whole case. From cambros to fresh fish this is the place for your restaurant needs. This is the worst restaurant depot, I have ever been to. The people are not at all nice and more over they are always rude with customers. I come to this just because it is near to highway. I've only been shopping here for a few months now, it's a far drive, roughly an hour. The service from the guys who handle the meat is all worth it though. Max *1 of the biggest reasons we continue to come back* has continuously gone above and beyond attempting to find anything I struggle to find my self, Always smiling and friendly and very prompt to help me and try and get me on my day. If for any reason i can't make it out it won't be because of the service just the fact that it's a far drive for us, but for the amazing customer service i'm going to do my best to keep coming back. huge Huge HUGE thanks to Max and all the guys in the meat area thank you for all your continued help! read more

I just left there and couldn't believe how terrible an experience I just had. The employees were unprofessional and rude. I could have handled the higher than expected prices if there was some sort of courtesy and professionallism to go along with them. The checkout person, David, was confrontational, rude and extremely inappropriate. He was yelling to other people, yelling at his manager and just plain terrible. I won't go again. read more
