I understand Santee Walmart tends to employ recovering/relapsing tweekers and unfortunately these " people" do get promoted. However, their tiny amount of power and huge lack of social skills is wasteful of my time and down right rude! When a cashier throws your items into bags and dents cans etc. Then won't allow you to use your husbands credit card or run it ad a debit, it only makes sense I'd want to see a manager. When that " manager" proves to be incompetent I Ofcourse am going to want to see the general manager. Then having me wait at the front of the store with a whiney 3 yr old and crying baby for 20 mts.. Is ridiculous. But then Ofcourse sending a clearly intoxicated employee to walk by me,, notice me then disappear for 6 mts only to come back and ask if I need help is stupid. Then, here'd the kicker.. To lie to me and refuse for me to see the GM and claim you were sent to resolve the situation is beyond me!!! I have spent easily $1500.00 at that Walmart in the last 6 weeks. Guess all that buys you is exposure to tweeker diseases and unintelligent rejects who can't handle that I'm happy and they are not!!! I jokingly refer to Walmart as "my mothership". I love it... I used to always go to my Santee store, but recently I've changed to Lakeside because I moved to santee. Today I was back at my Santee store and got great deals as usual!! However, today was markedly different..today I lost my wallet!!! I put all my stuff in my car, drove over to Michael's... I get up to the register there only to discover MY WALLET IS GONE!!! Panic stricken I tear my purse apart, run out to the car and tear it apart, call Walmart and while I'm on hold I drive back to that end of parking lot to check the carts where I returned mine.. nothing!!! Omg! Then they come back on the phone and tell me THEY HAVE IT!!!! Oh the relief! I had just come from dmv with my new Real ID because I got married 6 weeks ago so I had to change my name, then to bank to get new Debit card... and all the other stuff in my wallet!!! Thankfully, a very honest Cashier turned it in what a blessing!!! I was shaking with tear-filled eyes when I ran back in the store. The Olive Garden gift card I got her was a small gesture for such a lovely and happy end to such a stressful event. read more

I hate the produce selections, seems like seconds all the way around, I look closely to be sure any food I buy did not come from another country, the clothes are awful exception is of course they have dickies brand which I love being a male. again its Walmart so what can you say but walk with caution. I went to get new tires for my car and the guy working, his name was Steve in the tire center. He was very rude to me and my boyfriend. Honestly he didn't even look like he knew anything about tires and he was working in that section. I was not happy with the service there at all. Ok I have to write another review for this awful awful pharmacy because I am hoping one of these days an employee will see it and do something about it. Wishful thinking because it's Walmart but at least I'm trying. I know there's no cure for stupid, if there were then surely the pharmacy would be the first to know right?? Every employee I have to talk to at this place is incompetent, every single one. You have to call them to make sure they are filling your prescription otherwise it will sit there for weeks u ntouched. You have to call them and find out when it's ready even tho my number is on file there. You have to double check your medication before you even leave because if they screw it up its your problem after you left the store. I found that out to my own cost. Many more times I have dealt with getting less medication than my prescribed amount, incorrect fill dates, co pays, etc etc. this must be where all the pharmacy students who manage to graduate by the skin of their teeth and pharmacists no one else will touch go to, because the level of incompetence here is sky freaking high. I mean these are people's medications, it's not just a place you go in and earn $12 an hour and say screw everything I don't feel like doing my job right. Pathetic. Here we go again. Yet another bad Santee Walmart review. Does Walmart not care how their patrons see them? Example: The Dog section for vests and tee shirts etc. has been without items sense before Christmas. A Jacket, 2 tiny Vests, 1-2 Sweaters...that or NOTHING has been the selection. So, one day I asked the guy feeding the fish, "When will you have items here for the Dogs, again?" His reply, "It's all AUTOMATIC ORDERING!" Hum, virtually void of any product for nearly 3 months now. How's that auto ordering process working for you Walmart? It is like that all over the store. Plenty of crap to choose from, but the popular items are almost always empty. We've been writing the same complaints for 15 years on Yelp and to the main office. Still, nothing changes. We keep going back anyway. Guess that is what they count on. Shame on Us! read more

I must say it's really hard to impress my husband with great customer service but WOW is he impressed with the Manager and her staff. We have 3 kids and our oldest wears glasses as well as my husband. We usually get our daughter glasses every 6 months or so. They always remember us when we come in and always nice and friendly and give us suggestions of what looks good or not. Not to mention the prices are great. read more

The five star rating I gave is for Denise in the garden department at the Santee store. It was the beginning of spring and I was trying to find several different vegetables and strawberry plants for my garden. The store was out of some of the seedlings that I needed, but Denise went the extra mile in customer service to help me out with my order. She located the plants I needed which were still on the shipping truck and contacted me when she found them so I wouldn't miss out on the sale. She is also super nice. Went back a week later and she actually remembered my name! read more

I had a cashier say to me "No ya di'nt" in a ghetto tone. What happened was that I was looking at my phone and shook my head and she assumed it was because of the transaction in front of me taking so long. No apology given to me. Then I asked to speak with a supervisor 3 times with no response and then finally she pointed (without even looking at me) and said she is over there. This was an older lady and not a teenager that was the cashier. What kind of people are they hiring. In all my years, this is the only negative review I ever took the time to post. I reluctantly go in to a Walmart in Santee to see about a few items. One is Tiki torch oil. I see two different prices marked for the same bottle. Not a huge diff in price, maybe 50cents, but different. I take it to the counter and ask for a price check and sure enought the price rings at the highest price listed. I alerted the clerk and he just shrugged his shoulders. Didn't they just lose a big lawsuit for doing this very thing. Listing one price and at the register you pay a higher price. Check your receipts. I'm sure it's happening al the time. I now they don't always have the lowest price and it's not worth the unfriendly atmosphere to shop there. There's a reason I shop a Target. Clean, friendly, always have stocked shelves. Now they want to sell groceries at Walmart. Gross! A bunch of pissed of employees handleing my parishables, NO THANK YOU. read more

On 10/29/16 I went with my Dad to the local Verizon store to find a smart phone style to use to talk and text and use as a Go Phone. Was told can't use that style unless pay monthly plan. Went to Walmart to get a Go Phone from AT&T. Michael was the store associate who helped us. So personable and helpful. After paying for the phone $30 and $100 for min. for a year Michael asked if we would like him to register it and get it up and running for us. I expected to have to go online and do it myself so I was extremely thankful for his help. He ran into a couple of problems which took some extra time(thank goodness it wasn't me as I wouldn't know what to do). He was very patient and kind. Think Michael is a great asset to the store. My Dad had a couple of questions about the phone and is hoping to catch him the next time he can get in the store. Dad thought he would be patient with him as he is a novice when it comes to the phone. I know Michael will take good care of him. Nothing but kind words for Michael and the service he provided us. read more

SCREW WAL-MART; TRYING TO BE THE MORALITY POLICE! Tried getting photo prints, and the cashier says, "we can't sell you the second one." I'm all, "why?!??..". "It has nudity in it", shows me the 'nude' print already made, "but we will only charge you for the first." I'm all, "I'm not paying for any of this! I want to talk to your manager." The manger give me a "it's company policy, not even artistic nudes or baby butts after infancy," and shows me stupid little card that they give you saying why your photos are missing. I then say "where can i get it done then... it;s not illegal, right??" She say, "There's places that will do it, but not here." I say they're trying to dictate morality, she pulls out a company book, starts reading, and i say, "I'm fine on your prepackaged response; I'm leaving..." Went over to Target after. I like my Walmart, really I do. I shop there several times a month and get great prices on some items. Most of the time the clerks/salespeople are very helpful. But, this past Sunday my husband I and were in line (for quite awhile I might add) while the checkout person (Gale) was obviously in no hurry! Lines were very long but she just took her sweet time, stopping to talk (2 things at 1 time not her thing). When it was our turn she did not bother to acknowledge us, she smirked the whole time while ringing us up, threw our items in the bags and turned the little carousel out of my reach..Really? Why? Did she suspect we were maybe in a hurry? No thank you for spending the amount of money we did at that point, no have a nice day, no whatever. It's okay, I get you don't want to work on a Sunday but you have a job! Make the most of it while you are there. The most embarrassing incident took place today at the santee Walmart parking lot. My boyfriend and I cashed a check at the customer service desk and while we were waiting for the sales associate to finish up the transaction, my boyfriend noticed a cardboard sign for the film "The Avengers." My boyfriend asked what they were gonna do with the sign, and the sales associate remarked that they were gonna throw it away. He asked if he could have it and they said that it was fine. As my boyfriend and I exited the store and were half way through the parking lot, we were rudely chased down by a screaming manager who was on her lunch. The woman approached us in a hostile manner and began to interrogate us on how we obtained the sign. We barely had time to explain what happened because she was too busy blowing smoke in our face with her cigarette and kept over talking us. Then she has the nerve to tell us that we better rat out the sales associate that gave us the sign and remarks that we better not lie because she will just review the cameras. She also spoke incredibly loud during the whole situation, making a complete ass of her self in front of numerous customers. She threw a whole fit in the parking lot for a piece of cardboard because she was trying to make a spectacle on purpose for her fellow co-workers, who had joined her in their daily smokers paradise at the public benches. We gave her the sign so we didn't have to breath in her disgusting smoke that was wreaking from her cigarette. Once she received the sign, she sped off to her table, where the rest of the middle aged women who wreak of cigarettes that work at Walmart hang out at. The whole situation was embarrassing on her half. The funny thing is, I use to work at this Walmart under the supervision of that manager and I know it is not against policy to take home old movie signage, but this manager had to show off her Walmart authority to everyone in the parking lot and just ended up making herself look like a complete idiot and I feel sorry for her. So my advice is be careful when you journey across the santee Walmart parking lot because you might get stopped by the local Walmart parking lot troll. read more

Here is the "mamahochee truth"...Have been going to the store since it opened..is it me..or is it a law you must be at least 350lbs and have at least 3-4 out of control kids to shop there?? Or is it just my observation? The 2 changing rooms they have are obsesively contolled by mindless counting freaks..I acciendtly left my purse in one of the rooms....when I sked the lady to open it for me,AFTER,telling her my circumstances..she said "can you show me some ID"? I replied "Yes, once you open the door"..She then said" how do I know you are not trying to STEAL someone elses purse?"...I asked her to go and get a manager...then I asked a woman if I could borrow her child...by this time there was quite a crowd...Remember 2 rooms,now locked tight, and she was not going to open ANY DOOR!!! So the little darling crawled under he door...opend it up and I proceeded to show one and all my Calif Drivers licence..every one had a good chuckle..the kid made a dollar on the deal and I promply left the store...when I looked over my shoulder she was being paid to open the other ONE!! and STILL NO OBSSEIVE counter clerk in site...I swear that is the absolute truth ..and since the "remodel'they have dropped so many of my favoite item I just go to Target,CVS or Thrifty...and some of their prices are cheaper than "Wallyworld".... read more
