Most of their foods are expired. Don't waste your time and your money at this Walmart. It's all disgusting!

Came here in a rush before it closes at 11pm. I got here at 10:54pm, the door is locked and an older Walmart employee wearing a mask made a hand gesture signaling that they are closed. With a shocked look on my face, I pulled out my phone and showed him the time through the window saying it's 10:55pm and he came to the door to unlock it to tell me that he was told that they are closed. I pointed to the hours on the door saying they are open till 11pm and it's only 10:55pm, he said sorry we're closed. I told him that's illegal and he replied "call the cops then" . At this point I'm enraged because I literally left my house in a rush to get here before they closed, I ran from my car to the door, my heart was racing to make it before they close at 11pm as their company says, only to be told by one of their lousy employees that they're closed at 10:55pm and giving me a snarky remark to call the cops . I replied back "your kidding me" he said "what?" I repeated my self and he kept saying "what?" As if HES the one the can't hear ME, when in reality I was having a hard time hearing HIM cuz he sounded muffled through his mask. So I went to my car and I pulled up in front and tried to get him to come back so I can ask him what his name was and if I could speak to his manager, he made a hand gesture that he was not coming back, so I started knocking on the door and he walked the other way talking to another employee, so I took a picture of him and the hours on the door, hopefully this review gets seen by his supervisors and I'm sure they're gonna pull out the video footage to verify. He needs to be reprimanded. I usually don't go out my way to write any reviews as you can tell by my Yelp history, but this guy really messed up, he deserves it and so does walmart.

    This is pretty darn disgusto.

As far as all the Walmarts in the area go, this is my absolute least favorite of the bunch. Everything is always a complete mess here. Not only are things thrown here & there with no order at all but things are just pretty gross. Like the makeup section? Ew. I don't think I could ever bring myself to buy makeup here even in a pinch when everyone tests every single nail polish & lipstick out on the displays. What's wrong with people!? They are out of stock of so many of items here, too. However they do have a good clearance section. The people at this Walmart could fill the pages of a PeopleofWalmart calendar with great ease and they have to be some of the most self involved shoppers ever....don't pay any attention to anyone around them. Parking is an absolute nightmare but I've found if you park on the side of the store, you can get a pretty close spot and [mostly] avoid the most horrible drivers on the planet. I feel kind of bad for this Walmart because it's a victim to it's clientele. However it's as if they've given up. They think eh...it's all gone to heck anyways, so why even try!? Sadly this is the closest Walmart to my house so when desperate, I'll be back.

I have been here at many different times of day/days of the week, and somehow it's ALWAYS super crowded. Like most Walmarts, even when the checkouts are super packed, they only have like one or two human cashiers open in addition to the self checkouts. So if you're buying anything that will require a cashier (alcohol, cigarettes, anything else "behind the counter"), just anticipate that it's going to take quite a long time to check out. I had a mostly positive experience during three visited over three days. A woman whose name I didn't catch walked me clear across the store, waited for me to pick the item I was looking for (it wasn't there, took all of 30 seconds) the walked me to the section where the surge protectors are. There was a nearly five minute wait at the pickup counter on my third trip (I was the only one in line) but I was attended to immediately on my first trip. I will definitely be back to this WalMart

The produce is fresh as there are always employees on the floor stocking the department, and every other department seems to be well run and efficient. The front end cashiers and customer service crew are always polite and fast! This Jewel seems to retain employees for a long time which says something in the retail grocery business. We do shop at other local Jewels and this Jewel does the best job of them all. Sure, sometimes you can't find what you are looking for or a price at check-out does not reflect the sale price in the flyer, but that is a common issue in all the retail/grocery world. This jewel crew happily corrects any mistakes which are few and far between. This Jewel does a very good job and I am very glad it is continuing to provide great service and groceries! I can think of few in the area that do as good a job!!

I went up to the customer service counter and she said the ticket was not readable and that there was an error code. The ticket is in perfectly good shape and I did not over scratch it. It is my understanding that there is also number validation in addition to the barcode? I could be wrong. She didn't seem interested at all in helping me further and said that maybe the system was down. In addition to the machine would not dispense my ticket right away. My $2 was trapped and if I walked away it would have possibly been lost to the next customer. I did go to the gas station and indeed there was an error code. The gas station attendant did not offer help, either. Regardless, I would think that where you purchase the ticket from - in this case Jewel would do more to help you redeem a winning ticket as it was them that sold it. Will not purchase lottery tickets there ever again. Not trustworthy.

The selection may not be as vast, but the value for money is excellent. Definitely worth a visit for your grocery essentials. But today I went specifically for tomatoes. There are no tomatoes. This is a perfect case study on how automation kills businesses. Not only have they cut jobs out of…read morethe store they've managed to make a relatively mediocre retail experience even worse. During the pandemic the store seemed clean well stocked and safe. Everyone wore masks and stayed away from each other. Now, this store has become a poorly stocked dirty and hurried location. Nobody is social distancing. People are coughing and sneezing in the aisles. This is surely to be a CCDPH COVID-19 hot spot. I'll start at the facade and work my way into the store. The facade is in good condition albeit some litter in the parking lot, hardly their fault, or is it, who knows who cares. As soon as you walk through the entry doors the world turns from nice wide open blue skies to a drab warehouse like entryway that is outright filthy, I wouldn't touch those cart wipes, bring your own. People crowd the entry exit area and nobody bothers to alternate exit entry, like proper people do in Britain and especially Japan, in Japanese grocery stores (even here in America) people alternate between exiting and entering in the vestibule to maintain social distancing. The number of mask wearers in an Asian store is far higher, sorry not sorry but Americans are plain as day unhygienic slobs who don't care for their environment or their health and this store is a perfect case study of that. Moving in from the vestibule you immediately see dirty floors and a severely understaffed store. Good luck finding any help in the aisles, if you don't know where a product is have fun walking amongst the crowds of unknown COVID-19 status individuals not wearing a mask. I looked, of all the people me and my partner were the only people double masked per CDC guidelines for high risk areas and Omicron. The terrible doesn't end there, something as simple as crackers was out of stock on oyster crackers, how can a grocery be out of stock on something so simple and so small to warehouse. All sorts of other items were stock out status as well. Unlike other grocers who put signs up in the position of the item with its name and barcode and another location to try Aldi just leaves bare shelf space or worse leaves rotting produce for everyone to see in the case of the tomato's. Toss those out you fools, I'm pretty sure Cook County Department of Public Health is going to throw a fit when they see this review and rightfully so. This is why other grocers are going to lengths to ensure stock out products have a stock out sign placed and no rotting or dangerous product left behind. Aldi just doesn't care. This isn't a nice store to be in by any measure, it's loud it's uncomfortable and it's grown ugly, are you really telling me you can't afford with all the money you made off of killing jobs a damned drop ceiling to cover up the horrendously ugly warehouse atmosphere? Making it brighter inside would also help too, in some areas it's rather dim and those with visual impairments may have trouble. Those with anxiety disorders and who want a hygienic shopping experience will be outright horrified in here as was I. By the time we were in the second aisle I literally said to my mate "Well coming here was a bloody mistake." It still somehow gets worse! The aisles used to have clear one way laminar flow but nah, who needs one way aisle flow when you can have sick or well people who t f knows randomly meandering about clogging up the flow and making it hard to move around. Even worse some people seem to have the nerve to want to walk closely to masked people almost like a harassment technique. UNMASKED LADY WITH THE UNMASKED BABY WHO SIDESWIPED ME. I'M TALKING TO YOU! Not sure if you were trying to get at my non existent wallet or if you're just being an ass to be an ass. You could have gone around me, you could have used the whole other damn aisle but instead not once but twice did you brush up my sides, BOTH SIDES. Clearly an attempt to mug me. Nice try, I don't have a wallet and if you touch my phone you'll be meeting law enforcement techniques in combat and restraint before the actual cops come. So that's the end of the horror show you think, nope, it's not. The checkout area was disorganized at best nobody knew which lanes to go to for which self checkouts. The only check line that had laminar proper flow was the single cashier running the whole store. If I could go to 0 stars I would. But they earn the single star on product prices. Aldi has become everything a grocery store shouldn't be. Dirty, filled with criminals, and unpleasant. Visiting this dump and visiting Cook County Jail are oddly not too dissimilar. If that's not alarming enough for you to go to another location or can the Aldi name entirely I applaud you for your bravery on entering such a high risk environment just to save a dollar or two. As for me and my family, we will be shopping at Aldi a lot less.
