This Walmart Supercenter in Monrovia is spacious and has plenty of parking, with designated spots for returning shopping carts, making it convenient for customers. There's also a McDonald's inside, which is a nice option for a quick bite while shopping. One thing to note about the garden nursery is that the outdoor doors are not an entrance. You have to go through the main Walmart entrance to access it, likely for security reasons. The nursery itself doesn't have a huge selection of plants. The indoor plants looked a bit neglected, but the outdoor ones were in much better condition. However, they did have a nice selection of vases at reasonable prices. I also visited the baking section, specifically looking for bread flour. The selection of flours wasn't the most extensive. Some of the cheaper unbleached bread flour bags were open, which made them seem questionable, so I skipped those. However, they had Bob's Red Mill bread flour for around $6 for a 5lb bag, which was a great deal compared to other stores. They also carried King Arthur all-purpose flour but unfortunately didn't have bread flour from that brand, which is what I originally wanted. Beyond that, this Walmart has a vast selection of products, and it's easy to spend a lot of time browsing. The store is large enough that I almost got lost trying to find the self-checkout area. I usually order online because nowadays customer service is not what should be. Plus, with many items under locked glass cabinets it's not easy to shop at ease. However, on Sept 17th around 10PM, I decided to browse the store and grab a couple of items. I needed to purchase a mascara but there was no one to help me in the cosmetics area. I asked a young man from the hair products aisle if he had a key to the cabinets, he said no. But he said he'd get someone. After a while of waiting, I went to the front of the store to see if anyone would help me. Before, I can reach the front of the store, a very nice lady named Gloria approached me and asked if she can help me. I related that I just need someone with a key to the cosmetic cabinet. Mind you this was not her department. Gloria was very courteous and offered to walk with me to the cosmetic area and try to open the locked cabinet for me. Although she struggled in opening the locked cabinet. She took the time to help me with my purchase. I was very thankful to Gloria especially because she said a phase that I have not heard from store clerks nowadays. Gloria said in Spanish the following, "The customer is always first." She added "if we didn't have customers to ask for help, we wouldn't have a job." Gloria is an excellent example of what customer service should be like. Great job Gloria!! I asked her was she a manager because I wanted to speak to a manager in regards to a certain item and instead of worrying about helping me a customer she's talking shit about some girl who works at the returns talking in Spanish like I couldn't understand what was being said and about some boy making fun of him and if this is what a manager is suppose to do she's very good at it. I usually go to the Walmart by my house in Rosemead, but I came to this one because they closed at midnight and it was 11pm when I got there. I was looking around for a nice bowl for chips for my party. This very nice man that was in the middle of unloading stuff in the home section came up to me and asked if he could help me look for something. I was pleasantly surprised because this has never happened to me at a Walmart before. I usually have a hard time even finding someone at the other Walmart for help. I told him what I was looking for and we cross paths with another sweet lady who walked me through the isle and was trying very hard to find what I was looking for and then she asks a third lady who was also very nice and helpful. I was so touched that these three kind people were so genuinely helpful. We found a cute bowl and I thanked them. About 15 minutes later, one of the super sweet blond lady came up to me and said that she found the perfect bowl and walked me to it, and it was perfect! All I was looking for was a bowl and these three went out of their ways to help me find not only a bowl, but the perfect bowl. I love that this Walmart apparently hires good hearted people. Crap assistance in sporting goods. I think Daniel was heavily medicated, sleepy or hungover. I understand having to bring ammo up to the register but the wait was deplorably long. He forgot to bring it up to the register and proceeded to tell Tristan that I was going to come back to pick it up even after he told me he'd take it to the register. The rest of the staff was great and apologetic but Daniel may need some assistance in his function as an employee and even if he hates his job... for gosh sakes pretend you like it for the time you're on the clock. Well i go to my local Walmart at least 3 times a week. I am always needing something and i really enjoy wasting gas going there so often. The real problem is i just can't seem to remember all the things i went there for, so i have to keep going back. I actually went there for mark down candy from Christmas. The signs said 50% off so i loaded up my cart with peppermints for the horses. Well when i left the store i thought it seemed rather high so i checked my reciept and i was charged regular price! Well anyone who has ever been overcharged knows you don't just go back to the cashier but you must go to customer service and wait in a huge a** line to get your money back, and being 2 days after Christmas the line was out the door. So i waited in the line just to get my 50% off when it was there fault. The only good thing about my trip that day was i found a poor hungry kittie someone dumped off in the parking lot. And this young women by the name of Quantese I'm sorry if I spelled your name wrong honey..she is just the sweetest girl ever I've never had one problem with this lady she always has a smile on her face. She's always dancing she always have everyone laughing. Weird. I don't know if it was this location's fault or not, but I ordered something online for in-store pick up and it wasn't there. I showed them my order and they said it wasn't there, and I'd should come back the next day. I got all the notifications that it was there and they had it. I called corporate and got them to change to a different Target that was close by my house (this one was by my work). No problem there.
