Me being able to see a woman install a battery which I know is not a big deal but for me it is because I'm use to always seeing Men care to this type of service. This is the second time this week. I've actually gone to a place and had assistance from a woman when I typically think that this job growing up it's a guy job. As I continue to grow up as a older adult, I realize that we are such powerful woman. I appreciate the two ladies that helped me out today and getting my car back up and running. Being able to be knowledgeable of how to navigate and use our resources is very key and should never be restricted to gender setting. I felt not only happy to write this review about the ladies who helped me today, but I want to encourage us as women that we should never continue to limit what we know is accessible to us as women. We don't have to live in the stereotype that I have grown up in where men have a certain job and women have a certain job. We can continue to transition and grow as we thrive through this changing world . My sales feller was Todd. He rang me up. I got my vet discount on my items I swiped my card, I was declined. We attempted a few time and moved to another register same problem. I called the number on the back. I found out I was blocked. After 10 minutes. My card was unblocked and I got oil. I asked Todd for assistance in pouring the oil in the vehicle. While her battery was already way past its expected life at 5 years, we wanted to see how far it could go! After all who doesn't want to stretch their car battery's life!? We needed some groceries and my Mom was happy to make a quick run to HEB. Her car started up and a smooth-drive-up-Anderson-Mill later she made it to HEB's parking lot on the corner of Anderson Mill and FM 620! Fast-forward one hour, after a pleasant grocery shopping experience, her car stalled when she put her keys in the ignition... Fortunately a gentleman from our wonderful Cedar Park community saw my Mom was in need and helped her jump her car again. A few cable connections later and she was on the way home! I'm still grateful for that gentleman's help! Turn the clock forward a few days and my Mom was ready to get on the road again with her list of errands in hand. *Click... click... click*, my Mom's car battery wouldn't start... We stretched it as far as we could. This time it was time to get help from the Good, Professional People at Autozone! Our Amazing neighbors who are like extended family members came over to help us remove my Mom's car battery! We kind of tried a few things and then our neighbor Michael recommended that we just jump my Mom's car again and drive Together to Autozone! Thank God my Mom's car started one last time! We got on the road, nervous that her Trustworthy & Dependable Kia Soul would stall along the way. With anxiety at the wheel, we vroomed up Anderson Mill and onto White Stone! We both sighed with relief when my Mom's car was neatly parked in front of the Autozone doorway! When we went in, a kind, hardworking, cheerful staff member named Kilani greeted us and asked us, "How can I help you?!" My Mom shared about needing a new car battery and Kilani was quick, professional, & effective at finding us the right battery for her exact Kia Soul car model! She shared pricing & warranty options as well to fit our budget! Once my Mom chose the best battery for her budget, an older staff member & gentleman helped us complete the purchase! A few minutes later, Kilani had the new battery in her arms and asked us to follow her to the car! She got to work with removing my Mom's previous battery! Turns out Kia Soul's are a little complicated, haha! With the screws removed, the battery wouldn't budge! Kilani tested a few things and then asked the store manager for help! He was quick & professional as well and excited help us! He found a tricky panel that needed to be unscrewed and then the battery slid right out #TeamWork ! We thanked him for his help while Kilani put the new battery in! Just a few minutes later, my Mom had her keys in the ignition with the engine rumbling nice & smooth! I am old school, so getting the old school treatment in a modern-day automotive shop was refreshing! Here is what I mean: 1 - AJ greeted & guided me into the appropriate bay. 2 - He explained that I could stay in my car where I might be more comfortable or wait in their waiting room (I chose to wait in their waiting room). 3 - He asked for the previous sticker. When he noticed the residue on my windshield from a past oil change sticker (not theirs), he offered to clean that right up for me! When I got my vehicle back, the residue was gone. 4 - He came to the waiting room to inform me of what my cost would be for my requested services. 5 - Mid-way through the oil change, he let me know which of my fluids were good-to-go & the ones that he topped off. 6 - He showed me my air filter, & we discussed when I would likely need to replace it (a replacement air filter was not needed). No guilt or pressure tactics, just helpful information. 7 - When the oil change was completed, he drove it to the other side where they do the tire rotations & came to let me know that my vehicle had moved to the next phase. The guy that completed my tire rotation & took the payment was extremely courteous & very personable as well. He took the time to put a smile on my face when I knew that he had to be hot as hell at 3pm in the afternoon! I wish that I had asked for his name, but not having his name doesn't diminish his part in why I am giving these guys a 5-star rating. Great job all around! TOP NOTCH experience.
