I went today because my check engine light came on in my Toyota Prius. I was fully prepared to pay for an oil change. Felix (who was helping me out) looks under the hood and tells me that I'm actually good and didn't need it. I explained that had come I prior and shows him my sticker that showed I was at or very close to mileage. When I told him my maintenance light was coming on, he said he thought he knew what was up and asked if I had reset my oil maintenance light last time, and I told him I had not because I didn't know how. . My wife and I came here for an emissions test and waited 45 minutes only to be told that we were in the wrong line. If only there was sign indicating this in the first lane. None of the lanes had those signs. The guy informed us the lane we were in was for oil changes but said the emissions guy might be able to help us in this lane. So one of the tires on our fairly new car, under a year old, goes very low when the temp drops. While the other 3 drop a bit this one goes down to 20 or 21 from 32-35. Same tire, so we went out to inflate it. The first gas station we LOST air, the second did nothing. So we pulled in here, not sure if they could even help but the guy we talked to was fast, said it would be no problem and said we were the 3rd or 4th to come over today about losing air at the other gas station. He was quick and fast even though they had several cars there they were working on. They also didn't charge for air and checked all the tires even when we said we only had one bad one as we didn't want to take up more of their time. Second time I had this issue, waited 10 min wait to be greeted in parking lot. Two bays have cars one is open. Finally greeted told to pull in second bay. They open hood and then I wait 21 mins before finally I ask for hood to be closed so I can leave. No one ever talked to me once in bay to let me know that three employees would be working on one van and that there was extended wait for every other car.I left after over 30 min wait and no oil change. The wait was reasonable staff was not personable but polite ask for just an oil change. The three stars is for dishonest salesmanship. Was told I needed a coolant flush which by there standards maybe I did. According to the manufacturers recommended schedule my coolant had plenty of life. Personally I would recommend this shop if you have time to schedule with a reputable shop or dealer. However if you need an oil change because you waited to long they are sufficient with a decent wait time. Edit after returning home I realized they never put the screw back in that hold the undercarriage cover in place. That is a rookie mistake and because of that I do not recommended this shop and give it a 1 star. read more

Entire experience was very lengthy (2hours). Took way too long! Also, they stripped a bolt since the last time I brought it here and were going to let me leave with 3/4 bolts holding my skid plate up! They also had to be reminded to reset the service light. Your service manager, Louis, misled me to put it politely. I had told the first person that I spoke with there that I had a coupon. This was the 25%!off coupon that was on your website and which was texted to me. They pushed me into getting the $82.99 oil change instead of the less expensive one. I was to get $20.75 off for this. Then I was offered $10 off for changing my wiper blades with the more expensive set for $31.99 each (I was quoted $26.99 when I called your main #). We changed my in-cabin filter and he said he would discount the $49.99 charge. I asked to have my tires set to 35 lbs. They did the passenger side but not the driver's side so that I was driving with 30-32 on driver's side and 37 on the right. When it came time to pay he just asked for my card and when I asked to see the statement first he show it to me from a distance. When I said I couldn't read it he said he'd give me printout afterwards. The printout only showed a $21 discount and no other reductions that were promised. Went to Take 5 for a simple inspection. Waited almost 10 minutes for them to finish the car in front of me. The whole time the person doing the inspection was walking around doing other stuff and was wasting time inspecting other things on the car. Then I drive in, I tell them I just want an inspection. they pop the hood then start poking around, they pull the dip stick out and start "checking" things. I remind them I just want an inspection and not to waste time on other things. Then the guy starts arguing with me. He tells me it's required and I remind him in Travis county it's an emissions only county. Then goes to tell me he's required to check the "electronics" of the car. I tell him to stop with sales bs, just do the inspection and he continues to argue with me. I tell him he's wasting time then he tells me he's waiting on me and he was doing the extra inspection because of that. Then he goes to convince me it's his companies policy. so in the matter of a few sentences he said he was doing it because of the state, then because he was waiting on them then said it was the requirement of his company. so which lie was it? if a customer ask for just an inspection, do just an inspection. and if you feel a need to do other stuff because that's the companies best practice to boost sales then fine but the movement the customer says stop, you should stop and not argue with lies trying to justify what you're doing. then on top of that, I call their customer service. get put on hold then hung up on, twice, never getting ahold of anyone at corporate. read more

Oil changes are a hassle, right? You have to make an appointment, and then you have to sit around, sometimes for hours, while the technicians change your oil. Then you have to spend time saying no to everything on the extensive list of things they say you "need" to get fixed. Getting an oil change, frankly, is not a good experience. Take 5 is different. For starters, you don't make an appointment. You simply drive up and get in line. The nice folks that work there will come ask you what you're getting done during your visit. They'll bring you a cold bottle of water. You stay in your car and wait for your turn. When it's your turn, you drive into the garage. They'll give you another bottle of water, if you want, and use their system to make sure they have the correct filter and oil for your car. Then they change the filter and fill up the oil, all while you wait in the car. It takes 15 minutes, usually. And then you pay and drive out. You're done. Take 5 is a little pricier than other places offering oil changes. But frankly, I'll pay that little bit extra just for the convenience of not having to wait for hours. DO NOT GO HERE. I've tried to use this place twice, and both times it's been the worst experience I've ever had. At this most recent experience, I waited in line for more than 15 minutes. Their claim that they're a take-five oil change is a lie. You'll always be waiting more than five minutes. Then I finally get into the dock, and they tell me I need to go to a different dock for inspections. Even though there are NO signs about not being able to be in this line for inspections. They purposely lie and hide this so that you'll feel pressured to do an oil change. He tells me that if I go around, he'll get me into the appropriate dock immediately even though I see a car has already entered the dock he's telling me to go to. I say no I'm not gonna go around just to wait another 30 minutes. He says no I'm gonna tell that car to pull out since you were here first. So I drive around the side of the building again where it's very hard to be able to back out. Only for him to come tell me you can wait till this car is done. He lied to me to get me to drive around back in the hopes that I wouldn't be able to back out and I'd have to wait again. I said no I'm leaving and I backed out even though it was very difficult. I declined all, the guy who was speaking to me was very pushy and had an attitude every time I said, No thank you, I just need an oil change". That was the first red flag, I honestly should have left right there as soon as that guy was giving me an attitude for refusing to get the other services, but I didn't. I stayed and waited for them to "finish" the oil change. Shot story long; the following day I saw that my vehicle was leaking oil. I saw several spots of oil everywhere I parked. I had a gut feeling that something was wrong, due to the large amount of oil I found everywhere I parked. I even parked in clean areas to check to see if it was me the one with the problem and that I was not parking in areas where other vehicles had already left an oil spill. But it was my vehicle. I then drove to another company and told them I needed an oil change. I never told them I had already change the oil with Top 5. The guy then tells me that I had a leak and he was going to check to see where it was coming from. He the. Tells me that the screw from the bottom that they remove to change the oil was not secure properly and that I lost a big amount of oil. They clean the mess, add new oil and secure everything. When I arrived, I only waited a few minutes before a nice man came out and guided me in to a work bay.  I discussed my options with him and another employee about the need for the change (I still had a 600 miles to go) and determined it was the right time (I was going on a long road trip, so that pushed the scales!). I visited this location today and was greeted by Ollis. He promptly guided me into the bay. He and Lewis (or Louis) went immediately to work on my SUV. They did a thorough job in inspecting the vehicle and recommended that the cabin filter be changed. They tag teamed it as it was difficult to get that filter out. I wasn't going to change it as the vehicle has low miles on it and I thought it was just an up sell, however, once they showed it to me it was beyond crystal clear that it needed to be changed. They offered me a very good value on the price to change it. They did all of the services requested and triple checked that everything was perfect. My engine takes 6 quarts and to get it to full was a bit more than 6 and they got it spot on. This was my first time at this location. Ollis and Lewis (or Louis) were credible, data driven, factual, and I highly recommend their service! Louis came to my car when we got in line and gave us a water bottle - I remember him from last time (my first time) because he was so nice and he was just as nice this time too - Logan did my oil change and did not try to sell me anything I did not need and even ran inside and brought my son out a juice box. Then immediately told me it was not available and offered me an oil change that was $35 more. I had a coupon for $15 off premium oil change, they could only offer $10 off. They did not let me use it.
