Wally waffle has always been one of my favorite places to eat since the 90's ; I became gluten sensitive. I moved away in 2000.. when I come back to visit from New York I eat at Wally waffle faithfully( eggs/bacon)But since I returned another year and now there is a gluten-free waffle... The taste the texture has a sweet flavor it's cake like which is wonderful.. I had whip cream/peanut butter chips. I was able to add hashbrowns eggs and chorizo patties. I went back to Wally Waffle today. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't much better. I had the breakfast burger. The fries were great. The egg on the burger was great as well. However, the burger was way overcooked and therefore dry. I asked for medium and as you can see in the picture, it is beyond well done. When I paid my bill, the waitress shorted me $5 on change. These little things suggest to me that the staff just needs better training and more quality control. I want to like this place but now we are up to two experiences where dining 101 stuff is lacking. I think this place can be a good breakfast and lunch place, but until there is consistency in quality, I think it will just be a place that we would go to if we happened to be in the area. read more

Every time we are in the area, Wally Waffles is always on the agenda! Every meal, every single time, has been excellent! From scrambled eggs, to mouthwatering waffles and pancakes and even including sausage gravy, you can't go wrong! The food is always consistently delicious! The staff is always polite and friendly, especially Angel, the2nd longest person employed there (her sister being the longest!). The atmosphere is fun, and the new addition of the waffles on the ceiling is an added attraction (just watch that the syrup doesn't drip on you!). Just had the most delicious Pancake (3 huge), Scrambled Egg & Turkey Sausage Breakfast with Coffee ever. Well worth the 20 minute wait. Service was excellent, too! My waitress brought me a to go box before I put warm syrup on one half of the pancakes. Now I have another lucious breakfast for tomorrow, too. I decided to stop in before work to treat myself. Now I came in 15 minutes after it opened for the day and wasn't busy at all, but the service was still great. My waitress even offered coffee to go with no extra charge- I thought that was a nice touch. It's a cute restaurant with a modern and clean interior design! There are a good amount of tables with enough space. I got the chicken and waffles with the hash browns. Oh my, it was definitely savory and filling. The chicken was a bit salty, but it was breaded and fried perfectly. So tender and juicy on the inside. The waffle wasn't anything special, but it was still tasty and golden brown. The hash browns were DA BOMB DOT COM. It was my favorite part of the meal. Crispy and a perfect complement to any main entree you desire. Most of all, the price is reasonable! Nothing was overpriced. This was my second time eating at Wally Waffle and it did not disappoint. After trying it a few months ago, it was definitely on the list of places I wanted to try again. We went out to brunch recently, and my wife insisted on Wally Waffle. She is in love with the Wally Fries, which if you haven't been there, is their version of hash browns, so that's where we went. It was getting a little bit towards noon, so even though the rest of our party wanted breakfast, I wasn't really feeling it. My wife ended up ordering The Big Daddy, which true to its name, contains an entire feast of breakfast foods. It consists of Wally Fries, 2 eggs, toast, two breakfast meats, and pancakes. She went with eggs scrambled, sourdough toast, sausage, and bacon, because really, BACON! I don't recall the exact order of the rest of our party, but do know my father in law got a plain Belgian waffle. When in Rome... So as I mentioned, I wasn't really feeling breakfast at this point, so I ordered the Chicken Royal, which is a grilled chicken breast with American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and onion on a Kaiser bun served with fries. I should mention at this point, the restaurant was totally slammed, so our order took a while. Not obnoxiously long mind you, just about what you'd expect from a really crowded restaurant. The food comes out and we all dig in. I started with fries, and they aren't just typical French fries, they are more of a fry that is battered before it's cooked. The fries were absolutely delicious! Then I start making up my chicken sandwich with the condiment packets provided. It appeared to me at first that the cheese had melted down onto the grill and gotten a little crispy. No worries there, as I like when I make a grilled cheese at home and it does the same thing. I don't know why, but for some reason, I flipped the chicken breast over, and the bottom of the breast was totally black. I mean scorched. Like nuclear winter. Ugh. So not great at all. Our waitress came by and my wife said excuse me, and the waitress took one look at the sandwich and said yep, and immediately removed it and went back to the kitchen. She came back a minute later and said she was incredibly sorry, and that in addition to making me a new order, she was also going to remove the item from our bill. We said we understood, and these things happen, and she continued to apologize. Meanwhile, everyone else was chowing down. My wife couldn't come close to finishing hers, so I had a few bites of pancake while I waited. They were pretty good! Slightly crispy, not overly sweet, just what you'd expect from a good breakfast place. My father in law said his waffle was great too! Everyone seemed to really enjoy their food. My order came back out, and when the waitress brought it, she apologized again, and said she was sorry I needed to wait while everyone else was eating. New order of fries were just as good as the previous round (bonus fries!!!), and the chicken was cooked perfectly this time, slight grill marks running across, nice tender juicy meat, soft bun, crunchy bacon and meaty cheese. I want to give a ton of kudos for them making everything right. It just goes to show that a well run restaurant really can turn what could have been a negative experience into a positive. I've been to this spot pre-COVID and during COVID. Both times, I'd say they earn a four-star rating. The food is good -- not the best in Akron but it's pretty yummy. You'd be hard up to find a waffle or pancake covered in as much syrup as you want (let's pretend it's a lot) that retains its fluffy state! Always a wait here, but that's a good sign. It's affordable with large portion sizes (I always end up getting two meals out of it) and the tastiest waffles. My go-to is the chicken and waffles. This is an interesting place. It has more pancake options then Waffle options, but hay, what is in a name. The food has always been good. The portions, depending on what you get are either right sized or huge. So you get your value. The facility is always clean and the staff has been friendly. The challenge is that the staff is usually stretched so you do not really get the kind of attention the price warrants. So you are going to pay 2 - 3 bucks for a drink and may or may not get a refill. This just happens to be a pet peeve of mine. I have not done lunch, but the burgers look grate. The breakfast is always a hit and I am not sure you can go wrong with anything you order. Last time I was there I got a waffle and fried chicken wrap thing. Not the breakfast plate, but a wrap/sandwich. It was really good and hit the spot. Their menu is large, a little confusing, so expect to read and flip and read and flip. But once you hone in, you will be good to go. Saturday and Sunday mornings are crazy crowded so expect to wait. read more

The location was very clean, we watched staff clean tables, servers were friendly and "masked up", meal was delivered quickly and met all our expectations. Right smack in the middle... The interior really surprised me. I was thinking it was gonna be like IHOP or something. Instead, it was dynamic, colorful and artsy in their own way. The chalkboard paint added some whimsy, too. I wonder if the buildout was from the previous tenant? Anyway, the big Drumm piece was the most impressive thing about my visit. I ordered the chicken & waffles and it wasn't anything to write home about. I've only had chicken and waffles once (from an upstanding place) so the comparison isn't even fair. I ate maybe a third of it because it just lacked any flavor or interest. I added grits for .99 and they put so much butter in them that you couldn't eat them. My son had the Buckeye waffle and tore it up like no one's business. My boyfirend had the Coconut and thought it was just "ok". The cocout was in the waffle batter and didn't add much flavor. Service was ok. Prices were fair for what you get. There was a long line waiting to be seated when we left so call ahead if you don't want to wait. read more

I entered wally waffle on this beautiful Sunday morning and it was packed but only had about a 20 minute wait for three people which was not a too bad time to wait in my honest opinion. When it came time to order I ordered the Holy Cow Burger which is a half pound burger topped with onion rings and drenched in sweet baby rays barbecue sauce which was a nice touch for the sandwich and it was nice and tangy and went well with the onion rings and the burger. The burger itself did not feel like a half pound to me in my opinion but it was still a decent burger and it has a charbroiled taste to it which it gave it some flavor but all in all it was a decent meal and the pickle and french fries were a nice touch with the meal and this meal ony came to 8.99. but the reason I gave it a four star rating is because we had an awesome waitress she was really polite and friendly and quick and gave me the wifi password when I asked for it so she did an awesome job. read more
