Lovin' me some Wally's! An Akron icon and ive been eating here since i was knee high! Not at this location but at the old one off Tallmadge Circle. Stopped in today and got the chicken n' waffles! First let me say i love that they use chicken wings, this is brilliant! Second it is literally the best chicken wings I have ever eaten!!! And with the yummy waffle its a winner winner chicken dinner! And I always love there coffee, it's never bitter always perfect! You get 6 wings per waffle. It's a lot of food for $10! I never can finish all the wings. It's a nice snack for later. Service is always good to the waitresses are always friendly and give helpful advice. Ive brought friends from out of town in and they always enjoy their meal. No comparison to ihop! I personally would love it though if they would use real butter and not margarine. Such a great little place in highland square. You walk in and the first thing you smell is waffles and pancakes being cooked. They have glass windows from the ceiling to the floor and lots of natural light. My waitress was Stacey and she was the sweetest lady I have ever met and she walked me through the menu. I got the honey butter waffles and 2 eggs soft scrambled and sausage links. It was perfect and my waffle was crispy and fluffy just how I like it and they make my soft scrambled eggs perfectly. Located next to a shoe store, in Highland Square, this small breakfast spot has delicious food. Waffles, Omelets and French Toast adorn the menu. I debated between the Banana Creme Waffle and the French Toast. The latter won the race. The French Toast was cooked perfectly. I ordered the short stack, which was two pieces. I also ordered eggs on the side, also cooked perfectly. The Server was friendly and helpful. The only down side was the seating. The booths are very cramped. Besides that, everything was as close to perfect as it gets. This may be my new favorite breakfast spot. It deserves the acclaim it has received in the Akron Beacon Journal. I think I had 3 minor heart attacks in the process of eating my meal, but they were totally worth it. I ordered some chili cheese fries and a "solo burger", to which I added lettuce, tomato, and onions. I know, I know... who goes to a place that has tons of breakfast options and gets a burger?! A fatty who slept in till noon, that's who. The burger was HUGE and had very good flavor. I wouldn't recommend the chili cheese fries though. The chili had a very sweet flavor to it, which confused my tastebuds whom associate chili with spiciness. The plain fries are good though. I went back the next day with a hangover... I ordered the "chicken royal" with fries. This sammich was effing amazing. It was a marinated chicken breast, drowning in melty American cheese. I'm not going to lie and say my hangover was instantly cured, but the joy it provided to my tongue certainly helped to balance out the pain in my head and liver. read more

My kids love it. The latest creation is a pumpkin waffle. A big hit. The spinach salad was surprisingly good for a Waffle place. I only come here because of my kids. The southwest omelet was a good size, but had uncooked peppers and onions in it. I don't mind so much, but it makes me think the cook hasn't eaten one himself. A couple minutes on the griddle softens them up, warms them, and removes moisture that makes the omelet a little wet. read more

We tried to go to this place once before but there was 30-45 minute wait. This place is very popular and one look at the menu and you can see why. This time we planned ahead and got a table in 10 minutes. They have such a creative menu with a specialty of, of course, waffles. Not a big sweet person I had the eggs Benedict and it was very very good. Others in my part y had the Elvis Waffels and raved about it. My son had an omelet and loved it. Prices a very fair. Delicious breakfast place with amazing food. Chicken and wafles were amazing., and the funnel cake waffles were out of this world. When someone at our table didn't care for their fish, the staff was super friendly and helpful about it. It is almost always busy, so come prepared for a possible wait. But let me tell you, the wait is well worth your time. Service is polite and attentive, and the food literally never disappoints. I've had several of their waffle choices, a few of their breakfast meals, and my wife usually gets the eggs benedict; we are 100% delighted every single time. First of all, coffee was really good. I ordered the chorizo omelette and grits which was pretty mediocre. I don't think there was a grain of salt in the egg mix nor the grits. Salt your eggs! Im sure the waffles are pretty good though but I would not recommend getting an omelette and especially not the grits. read more

I had the Good Morning breakfast w/ Wally Fries, scrambled eggs and wheat toast and ordered a Belgian Waffle as well. The waffle was delicious. Went there for breakfast today. Seated immediately, We then waited about 10 minutes for the hostess to take our drink order. She said that the waitress was really busy. She should have said that the waitress was fat, slow, and lazy. Meanwhile, two other tables were seated and had their drinks in front of them before our waitress showed up with our drinks. No greeting, just "are you ready to order?" The hostess brought our food. Other waitresses brought the food to the tables, not sure why ours was unable to. Apparently white bread and sourdough are the same thing, and waffles ordered without whipped topping means you get it anyway. Stay clear of the snausage links! Getting refills on coffee took an act of God. After a nearly $50 breakfast for the four of us, I determined that was all I would pay. Pleasantly surprised by this place- I expected it to be a little gimmicky or too similar to Denny's but it really was much better than you'd expect. We did have to wait 25 minutes for a table on a Sunday late morning, but that's to be expected considering how small the seating area in this place is. Fortunately the area roundabouts is very walkable, so we took the 25 minutes to stroll around the library and market next door. Inside, the restaurant is bright and feels welcoming. Our server was extremely friendly, and gave us great service. We ended up ordering the country fried steak and an oatbran waffle. Both were delicious, especially the country fried steak- probably the best I've had. The waffle was also good- cinnamony but not too sweet and very fluffy. My only gripe is that I felt spending close to $7 for one waffle is a little ridiculous, but outside of that I did think their breakfast platters were fairly priced. At the end of the day, I don't see myself going out of my way to come here often, especially knowing there will likely be a wait on weekends, but I would recommend to fellow breakfast lovers that are in the area. read more

It was sweet and salty and for once (very rare) I ate ALL OF IT. The second day I got the Elvis waffle... OMG so good. A waffle stuffed with peanut butter and topped with bacon, honey, and bananas ughhh I don't even want to know how many calories I consumed. This place is an Akron staple. The waffles are just sweet enough and of course you can practically put whatever you want on top, it seems. The toppings can get too sweet, so you don't usually need syrup. I like pairing the sweet and savory, personally. They are very busy on weekends, unless you get in early. read more

Looking for a place to eat breakfast, Wally Waffle looked good ... The nearby Hilton front desk said, "I would choose that ... It's the best option", and boy were we pleased! The HUGE blueberry pancakes (blueberries inside) were the best we had ever had. The bacon was actually crisp - not burned and not kinda done. The Garden Omelette and Southwestern omelette were both very good. Also since it is Fall, they had a very good pumpkin waffle with a tall tower of whipped cream.
