I really liked this place! I love how more of these tea rooms are opening up! I am a none caffeine drinker - so my choices for 'lets meet for coffee' are very small - until recent times. There was a good choice of caffeine free teas , which was great. It is a fairly laid back place with retro furniture. The type that reminded me of my childhood in the 80's that was so dated but has become 'cool' these days. there was not an abundance of seats so i guess not great if there is a large group meeting. Great place over all and I shall definitely be frequenting this place more often. oh and how could I forget to mention the sushi!! Im a bit of a sushi pro - I had the vegetarian option and I believe coleslaw was in it! Not very usual but interesting all the same.

I came here on the recommendation of Annie, our fearless Dublin Yelper and it doesn't disappoint. The soundtrack today was a mellow Portuguese vocalist - beautiful sounds for a beautiful pot of tea. On the wall you'll have a few laughs with images of "Tea for Two" and a woman scaring off a black cat with a shotgun. I had the Earl Grey Superior - very good- a strong blend with orange blossom and it even had a hint of lemon lemon served in an old Chinese teapot and cup. But don't stop there, since there are over 150 varieties to suit any taste. It's always nice to see a new café in town that has a fresh approach. And I can't wait until the weather warms to try out the back garden seating area. It will be nice to stumble out of bed on a Saturday morning, go around the corner to Richmond Street and try the other 149 options I missed this time.

This is what a lazy Saturday should look like. Bliss :-)

Another hidden gem in lovely portobello. You could walk past this place thinking it's just a tea shop and not really know what a find this place is. This place is small and cosy, so great place to relax on a chilled weekend. The tea selection in this place is absolutely delightful, and this is Ireland so you do need the tea to be good after all :-) They also offer all day breakfast, which, let's face it, is what you really need for a good cafe in this day and age. If you're not so hungry, don't fret, they've also got you covered with a good collection of cakes to choose from. The absolute best part of this place though is the little yard out the back. If you're lucky, you'll have this place to yourself which is such a treat, with a super comfy bench piled up with cushions, just perfect for a nice intimate chat with a good friend or partner, or equally to just chill out with a good book in peace and quiet. On a rare sunny Dublin day the joy of this hidden corner is amplified even further, it really is a delight! All in all, after 3 years in Dublin intending to come here, I know that it won't take me another 3 to come back. One of the best things here is that it's small and lovely, but just not as busy as some of the other places in this trendy hood. But now that I've let that secret out, treat it with care and let's keep it that way ;-)

This coffee shop is so cute! They have a massive rang of teas and coffees. I tried the house blend which had a hint of vanilla, but too be honest it was actually too strong and I couldn't drink it! On the main floor they have and out door seating area with really cute cushions and I think it's a great space to relax and unwind. Downstairs they have a cool chill out area that looks like a sitting room, big comfy sofas and chair. Next time I go I'll definitely still to a coffee I know and chill out for a while in he out door seating area!

Large selection of teas and coffee. Sadly I didn't have time to relax with my cuppa in the cosy seating at the back of the shop. It has such a relaxed atmosphere, you would feel quite at home sitting there for an hour with your head stuck in a book. Along with my takeaway tea I got a 100g bag for around 7 euro, great value. Also there is an appetizing selection of baked treats on the counter, gluten free options included.

I love rows of jars of tea when I walked in the door. This place is really neat! I ordered a fruity tea and matcha porridge. I am in love with this porridge and porridge in general. I have been eating lots of oatmeal back in the States, but boy, this porridge is my new favorite! Recommend this place for the various kinds of tea and a nice place to chill!

Tearific. I love tea as much as coffee and this place has so many teas that it hurt my eyes and head trying to decide. In the end I had darjeling which was served in a cute pot that leaked. Why do tea pots leak? We had Tuna Melt which was delicious and I had peanut butter on toast which was apt as today is national peanut butter day. Nice space with friendly staff and quirky but not overdone.

Visited here in January for lunch. Just around the corner from the amazing Bretzel bakery in Portabello. They have an amazing selection of teas but I'm afraid I ordered coffee. Fiancé did try Darjeeling (I think) and the tea came in a leaky teapot. I don't know why but I think most teapots leak. It was peanut butter day the day we went and he chose toast with peanut butter. I went with a tuna melt. The bread was still soft after it was toasted. Perfect food on a cold January day. Lovely spot for lunch

Super spot in Portobello, Dublin with a killer range of specialty teas and quality sushi for the masses. My first port of call when back from San Francisco. Considered, cool sounds and decor, multicultural staff, and mix of students, media types, techies, musos and other usual suspects who know a cool and rare thing when they see it. Diversity central. Great little business made by great people on both sides of the counter. Let's hang onto this one!

Since I don't eat red meat, I was very excited to see a vegetarian Irish breakfast option. I ordered this as well as a mocha latte. Despite the rain, my friend and I sat outside since all of the indoor seating was occupied. Thankfully some heaters provided warmth for what could've been a chilly breakfast. Very quickly the lattes came out which my friend and I sipped on. They were soooo cute, mine had the design of a little bear on top! The latte itself was hot and not too sweet, the perfect start to the experience. After a few short minutes, the food came out! Immediately, my friend and I dug in. It was honestly everything I expected and even more! There were no weak links on the plate and there were generous portions as well. I sat there for a while working my way through my delicious plate!! Overall, I was very happy with my experience at Beanhive. It was an aesthetic cafe that also provided a hearty breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

My husband didn't finish his fritters that have avocado on them bc he's not a fan of avocado. He forgot to ask that they be removed. His fault. Very nice young staff. I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.

It was a wonderful pile of meat overflowing out of a little skillet with a stack of soda bread and butter. Truly it was a delight. I also ordered up their irish coffee.
