First off - NOT A 24 HOUR PHARMACY! FALSE ADVERTISING * FALSE ADVERTISING Due to complete insensitivity and incompetence, my prescription was not filled in a timely manner and I am filling this out in a hospital E.R. bed, after a completely avoidable ambulance ride. I brought in my prescription early this morning; after trying to bring it in at 9:45 last night, only to find that all the advertising (signs and internet) are WRONG). It is the FIRST time I've taken it to Walgreen's because my wonderful pharmacy of several years closed (Super Rx)... anyway, I got an innocent text within 10 minutes saying there was a delay... by around noon I was feeling bad; I called and was placed on "hold" for 8 minutes, then disconnected. I called again, and after another lengthy 7 minute hold, I was told that they had to call my insurance company about a "provider issue." Okay... The girl, Christy, said she would call them and then call me back. Okay... I waited. I got frustrated and needed a rest. By approximately 3pm I was feeling really bad and called again. With a mere "hold" time of 6 minute, I was told they were waiting for a call back from my doctors office that has a 48 to 72 hour time-frame call-return policy for pharmacies! The point is, Walgreen's NEVER called me to tell me this! With extreme pain beginning and medicinal withdrawal symptoms starting, I called the doctors office, got through immediately and they called the pharmacy once I explained what was going on. I called Walgreens only to find out, "the pharmacist is on another call...". I'VE NEVER RECEIVED A RETURNED TELEPHONE CALL, AS PROMISED BY ANYONE, FROM WALGREENS. Now, feeling very badly, severe pain and tears... I called my doctor back and spoke to him directly. My pain was extreme and beginning to be disabling, he assured me that Walgreen's had been called hours earlier but that if the meds had not been taken since the day before, and as it was going on 5pm, he advised me to get safe and call an ambulance to get to an E.R., as it was unsafe for me to go without my medication all day, especially after the procedure I had the day before! The pain got out of control and I am now on I.V.'s, strong pain meds and missing my class... my life disrupted and it was completely avoidable, no one would listen to me or take me seriously at Walgreens today... This is all because a person who chose to work as a well-paid professional, licensed by the state of California to provide the service of dispensing medication according to the licensure of a medical doctor, didn't care enough to make a timely telephone call to me, the patient - the one person who they are both supposed to be serving. What has happened to the medical system? How much extra can I pay you for the extra service of, "CARE?" I've reported all this to my insurance company, as they will be the one's that will pay tens of thousands of dollars for this completely ridiculous ambulance trip and hospital stay that occurred so senselessly. To anyone who actually reads this to the end... be your own health advocate. Obviously, there is no "kindly pharmacist" on the corner anymore who cares how you feel, or even a doctor who doesn't listen to your insurance company before your heart; take your health seriously and don't be afraid to be the "squeaky wheel;" I'm in the ER with IV's and Oxygen tubes! I Ordered photo prints from this location. I Placed my order online and later got notified they were ready for pick up. When I arrived to pick them up, nobody was at the photo counter. I waited a few minutes only then someone came to help. They looked all over the place only to find out they had been misplaced. I was told they would be reprinted and I could come back in less than an hour. We Hen I returned back an hour later, they still weren't even printed yet. The manager stated they were having trouble finding the order number, but I really think they forgot to rerun them. I Was told to come back again and they would be ready and they would give me a discount. When I returned about an hour and a half later, a different manager Searched all over for the photos for several minutes then finally found them on the printer. The photos Still hadn't been trimmed. She quickly trimmed them for me and put them in a box. I go a 50% discount which was nice considering all the trips I made to pick them up. When I returned home to look at my order I was missing the envelopes that were supposed to come with them and the colors were way off as if they were rushed with no attention to detail. Needless to say I will be choosing a different photo printer for future needs. read more

Pros: Drive through pharmacy, large store, lots of selection, convenient location on a main intersection, parking lot that never seems crowded, clean. Cons: not a 24 hour pharmacy. A tip on using the drive through--Don't expect it to be like a fast food restaurant drive through where you hand off a prescription and Bing! it's ready two minutes later. Realilstic now: the last time you went into a walk up pharmacy with a new prescription it probably took a while to fill; mine often take half an hour depending on how busy they are at the moment. Well it's the same with drive through service; the convenience of the drive through is that you can drop off your new prescription at the window and drive off to do something else, or just park your car. Come back at the time they say it will be ready and pick it up and pay--all without having to leave the car. see how logical that is? It can be nice to get your prescriptions that way, especially if you are really sick and don't want much human contact or hassling with loading and unloading kids. Sometimes that's just right, other times I go inside to shop a bit. read more

This is the closest pharmacy to me, so I use it. It's not the best, even when I refill over the phone and just need to pick up my refill, it takes over 15 minutes. The Pharmacy techs are always gossiping with the customers - not about medication, but about tv shows and food while you're literally standing behind them in line just WAITING to get your things and go. The techs are really slow and lazy. The actual pharmacists (like the lady who gives the flu shots) is really fast and efficient and also really kind. I don't understand how everyone else moves so slow and she is so quick to do her job. Don't go through Drive-Thru window - I once waited 20 minutes and didn't even get to the window, had to park and get out to pick up my medicine (another 15 minutes). These people working at the pharmacy definitely hate their job. They are not helpful and argue with you when your not even trying to argue with them. I've seen many patients that just needs clarity and the workers are just straight up rude. Low staff or not, they should not be hanging up on customers and being short with their comments. I usually go to cvs to fill my prescriptions but this is way closer and it was also 24 hours like the CVS I go to. But they're pharmacy isn't 24 hours. Which is extremely annoying. Either way they gave me a different medication than was prescribed to me because it had the same active ingredients but to me that is unprofessional. I even called saying that it was not the one I was suppose to receive and they said it was the exact same thing. 4 days later having awful side effects I called again they told me it should have been "basically" the same. After a whole lot of excuses he finally apologized saying that he did not know why they gave me this one. Very upsetting and irritating that they would do that. Horrible service I was getting some lipstick and the tag said it was 3.29 and I go to the register to pay and the cashier told me they're actually 6.29 like wth??? The yellow tag was on the whole row for MILANI BRAND LIPSTICKS I double checked from where I got the lipstick and I told him to please check he replied I did earlier with other customer so I'm like okay... that means it's false advertising I know how to read!!!! When this first open on beach/wmstr blvd, it was great i got my meds quick with no problems. But now forget it. they never have my meds ready even if i told dr. office to call it in 3 hours later or call it in on the automatic refill line, and it's still not ready or they ran out. so i thought the newest one that just opened up on corner of wmstr blvd/goldenwest. it take 20min to get your meds. but the only thing is that there pharmacy closes very early. read more

Went to this place just to get some pain killers filled for a wisdom tooth i had removed. The pharmacy said it would be 15 min so i thought cool cause the pain is starting to kick in. 1 hour later i ask if it was done cause they never called me up and i was sitting in front of the pharmacist the whole time, she says oh its been done i forgot to call you. Fuck this Walgreens! I've never been treated like shit before at a drugstore before. My first experience was horrible. I came in to return and it took the asian lady manager 5 minutes to come to the register.... taking her sweet ass time. She never said any word to me except "What is your reason for returning?" While she was returning my items, two Mexicans walked into the store. She turned into the store associate that was standing next to her and said "I want to kick them out." Freaking seriously? Afterwards, she threw my cash onto the counter and left without another word. My second experience was later today. I was buying a Nivea Mens Body Wash for $2.50. I had a coupon for $3 off. Walgreens Coupon Policy says that the cashier is allowed to adjust the coupon price to the item. The cashier asked the manager and the manager said he can't do anything about it even though you FREAKING can. Walgreens employees, AT THIS STORE ONLY, is filled with egotistical dumbass asians who know jack shit about doing their job and would rather talk to each other and drink and eat candy without paying for it. I never have high expectations for Walgreens. It's not a Best Buy or Hilton Hotel, but they have what I need WHEN I need it. I like the workers here. They know where everything is. if they don't, at least they don't pretend they know and have you follow them around the store wasting your time. They're very honest and have great customer service. I use this pharmacy because it's a big brand and the most convenient for my commute but I'm contemplating a change because of several problems 1) there are 2 walgreens in Westminster on Westminster ave. Most doctors phone your prescription ...how easy do you think it possible that your order will go to the wrong one? ... Now. How much effort do you think the pharmacy would try to solve the problem? Try no effort, empathy or cooperation with the other store! You'd think their computer system could help prevent mix ups. The root cause is staff doesn't care. 2. I waited inside to pick up a prescription for 15 - 20 minutes because the 2 clerks on duty would not end a problem discussion with the customer in front of me that clearly was not getting closer to resolution, the staff didn't think it was their job to keep the line moving. (Fyi) if they don't speak your language it doesn't give you the right to talk about them , some customers can hear you .
