I had the opportunity to tour Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve factory last week. Tours are not…read morefrequently offered, I was able to get a tour with a group. I was genuinely impressed by the entire experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I could see how much care and attention to detail goes into every step of the production process. A lot of the production is impressively hand operated. The factory was pristine. I was struck by the precision and use of real herbs behind the scenes. It was clear that quality control was a top priority, and it was fascinating to learn about the rigorous testing products undergo to ensure they meet high standards. The tour itself was incredibly informative, and I gained a deeper understanding of the science and care behind the skincare products. I was impressed that the brand wanted to deliver fresh products to the customers. Overall, the experience left me more confident in the brand's commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation. This location has a retail store. The store is open to all. It is a small shelf in the lobby but it is full of various products for men, women, babies, and pets. Some products I have never seen before (like shower lotion bar and herbal detangler wash). There's everything from self-care to outdoor adventures. I purchased Cocoa Whip Hair Butter, Cocoa Butter Body Butter, Cocoa Shea Shower Lotion Bar, and Chocolate/Honey Soap. While I went for basic scents, there are so many scents available. So far I only used Cocoa Butter Body Butter, and love it. I can't wait to use shower lotion bar during a sauna visit. I can't wait to continue using their products, knowing the care that goes into making them. Parking is available onsite. You have to find the doorbell at this location in order to enter and shop at the store.

I also wasnt aware their location in Chagrin Falls (I guess it is their HQ) was not open to the public despite google saying it was. I drove 1800 miles from Texas to visit Chagrin and wanted to stop by this place. Would have been nice to know it wasnt open at all before driving over there. I now shop for soaps online at Herbaria or visit local handmade soap stores. Quality is just as good if not better and I dont have to wait an eternity for shipment.

Store: What I love most about this particular store, which you can't replicate at other retail stores or malls, is that it has large windows with lots of natural light. SO IMPORTANT! I hate trying on makeup at a store, thinking it looks great, and then realizing that it doesn't blend/cover well at all by the time I'm in my car with the sun lighting my face. Do yourself a favor and walk to the window wall with a handheld mirror to inspect your makeup before purchasing any products. Makeup/Products: This is one of two places in Cleveland that sells Bobbi Brown products, which I absolutely love. They also carry Trish McEvoy, Laura Mercier, NARS, and Lune+Aster (Blue Mercury's line). All high-end quality lines. They also happen to have my favorite lip balm (Rosebud salve) which I'm hard pressed to find in any store. Service: I was quickly helped by a sales associate when I entered the store. She helped me decide which shade of corrector and concealer I needed and gave additional recommendations on other products I was interested in. Also, since I am South Asian, I like that the woman who helped me was black. Not that I mind being helped by white people, but I do think that colored women have a better grasp of what other colored women need in terms of makeup, so it's nice that they have a diverse team. Free goodies: Truthfully this won't apply to most shoppers, but I happened to be there when they were celebrating their 16th anniversary and the launch of their own makeup line (Lune+Aster). As a result I got champagne, a cupcake, and a free bag of product samples on my way out!

However, when I set up my appointment for my touch up the receptionist was unpleasant to deal with. She called me three times while I was at work to ask if I could move my appointment up. In response I told her IF I could make that I would let her know within the hour but if I did not call her then we would have to stick with my original time. This spa sends out text messages as reminders of appointment times. I received a message she had moved my appointment up so I used my lunch break to take the trip out to the spa. When I checked in the receptionist asked me why I was there because my appointment wasn't for another hour. She told me that she only sent that message in HOPES that I would call her. Extremely unprofessional, disorganized and inconvenient. I take a drive of 55 minutes to get to this specific spa. I had to sit there and wait an hour and a half for my appointment which was supposed to be with Cheyenne but it was not. Cheyenne has to go home early that day which is understanding. Things pop up and I'm understanding of that. The woman who did my lashes was new and took longer than expected. At this point I didn't mind as long as my eyelashes were done correctly (spoiler alert: they were not). At the end of my appointment the receptionist offered me an eyebrow wax "it looks like" I "could use it". The most unprofessional rude service I've ever had. I was so disappointed and irked by this situation. The picture uploaded is less than a week after my appointment date. Cheyenne came in to check on my lashes before she rushed out and kept telling the woman doing my lashes to get new glue. The way this was poorly handled really depreciates a business incredibly quickly. If anyone has a suggestion for a new lash place let me know ASAP!
