Big competition to some of the funky frames I found at online retailers They have some big name designers brand too if you are in to those. The pricing is fantastic I got 2 frames w/o my insurance (EyeMed not approved at Costco) The total cost was less than 1 frame at my optometrist office with insurance!!! This place is a mad house at like all times. No lie, just be ready. Sunday was particularly busy. Parking is a challenge sometimes too. We had to return an item and that was no problem. It's was nice. Then we got a hot dog combo cuz it was noon and we were hungry. Just know there is no one cleaning any tables. They were very dirty. As usual hot dog combo is great. We then went around looking for the few items we wanted to pick up. Navigating through a few hundred people. The layout is pretty standard. Samples guys and gals all around. They do try and keep the clothing area as neat as possible. However in this location there is a guy that folds clothes and he needs to take a shower. Every time I go and walk past him, he smells. It strong and someone should tell him. Everything else is pretty standard as Costco goes. Staff is nice. Products are well displayed. It's just crazy busy. So be aware if you come here. I love shopping at Costco, the Boston Heights Costco is a nice modern warehouse club, clean and bright, well stocked and organized. In addition to the usual products I find great closeout items at fantastic prices. I especially have to shout out the tire department, after a day of hiking and then shopping I had just completed a Costco run when my car alerted me that 1 tire had only 2 lbs of pressure. I turned around to try to fill it, but it was so low that the pump would not do it. Since these were the original tires and had about 33,000 miles I figured I would just buy new tires. Unfortunately, Boston Heights did not have my size and would have to order them, they checked and found that Mayfield Costco did. Boston Heights was great and fitted me in to changed the flat tire for the spare. They only charged me $5 and got me able to drive the car to the Mayfield Costco and get the tires changed. Outstanding service and they managed to turn what could have been a major issue into an easy solution. read more

Amazing Teamwork from Mr. Cam & Ms. Kennedy R.! I want to give a huge shoutout to two incredible employees at Costco -- Mr. Cam and Ms. Kennedy R. I was at the store on October 13 around 7:45 PM, and these two were absolutely hustling! One was working the register and the other was bagging and loading items onto the conveyor belt. Their teamwork was fast, smooth, and efficient -- so much so that I chose their line even though all the lines had about the same wait time. They looked like they were getting a serious workout, yet still managed to greet me with warmth and kindness. Their work ethic and positive attitude really stood out, and I was genuinely impressed. I was so moved by their effort that I went to the courtesy desk to share my feedback with the store manager. A gentleman came over and said he was the manager, though he mentioned he forgot his name tag. Unfortunately, his reaction was... underwhelming. He seemed indifferent, almost like recognizing hardworking employees was an inconvenience. It left me wondering if the team members at this location get the appreciation they truly deserve. I hope leadership takes note, because employees like Mr. Cam and Ms. Kennedy R. are the reason customers keep coming back. Costco -- please recognize these two stars. Specifically reviewing the Costco Eye Center. Why in 2023 can you not have a digital prescription to get glasses. I log in to My Chart, have a PDF with my Dr. Signature on it but that's not an acceptable prescription format. The sales lady rudely says a print out is 'non negotiable' . But I'm welcome to fax it in, wait is this 1982? I respond I showed this same digital print out last time I got my prescription here, nope.... 'It's non-negotiable!' Admittedly, I'm a new Costco member (less than a month). I've gone 3-4 times in the last few weeks and have had good experiences each time. I've been able to find a lot of new products for my family when it comes to food, clothing and household goods. Each employee I've interacted with was great. I enjoy the samples and variety in all departments. I also can't seem to beat their price on gas in my area. Definitely recommend this location. read more

This is an excellent place to stock up on everyday items. My favorites: sparkling water, organic salad mixes; organic mushrooms, cereal, and paper products. The aisles are wide and merchandise is organized well so it's easy to navigate through the store. The cashiers are efficient! There are always plenty of people to assist with the check out process. Why is this Costco different from any other Costco? Because it isn't. Costco offers consistently high value items-- but for a gluten-free diet even just a few things make the membership worth buying. Let's talk GF bread: I would love more variety, but what they do have is great. There is a seven grain that we get every time now. It toasts beautifully. Two loaves for the usual cost of one (at many grocery stores) saves enough for us over four months to mitigate the membership. Plus what we save on gas... we are confirmed loyal Costco members. Some say there are Two kinds of people --Costco or Sam's Club--- others say "it's the same as Sam's club!" I suppose I am the former as in our experience the no questions asked return policy and high quality goods are well above the Sam's Club standard... but the Hudson location might be awkward for Akronites. (Hint hint Costco? Akron needs to shop too!) Sometimes that will trump all and BJs or Sam's club will work better for you. Costco business philosophies lean towards aiding and supplying small businesses, and that also makes me feel good about being a Costco girl. read more

This rating is solely for the pharmacy. I love this store overall but every visit I've made with the pharmacy makes me wish I were closer to a different store. Due to a serious health issue for a family member I'm in Costco easily 4-5 times a month. There are two people there I always appreciate seeing and the rest act as if they could not care less about customer service. On several occasions the doctor has written a prescription that they question and instead of calling the doctor, they call us. For example a steroid cream to be used twice a day over entire body was written in a large quantity. They called and literally argued that it was too much to dispense at once and wanted to know where he was putting it. After saying his entire body a few times I had to ask why? It was solely because they would have to order a large container or give multiple tubes to equal the order. Okay, either works but why not ask the doctor that wrote it? They also had an issue with my insurance filling a script as written so they switched it to Costco pricing without clarifying with us. I could have resolved between the doctor and insurance had I been aware. It was only caught when I noticed the price of other medications being higher than usual that he acknowledged they changed all of them. There was no issue with all and would have overcharged me had in it asked. And I am certain for a few they have! Between the attitudes and inconsistencies in service I finally gave up and transferred them to another pharmacy. Not only did they send an incorrect one that was no longer valid but no other scripts made it over and they claim it wasn't intentional. They also claim to have proof of sending the others although nothing valid made it to the new pharmacy. Petty and unprofessional and then proceeds to argue. This is why I moved them. No one deserves to be spoken to or treated with such contempt when paying for a service. read more

Costco is always great! Gas is cheap, as is everything in the store relative to the outside world. Picked up some salmon, Chex Mix (so many places don't have this!), sweet potato chips, mushrooms, had a bunch of samples including quesadillas and beef jerky. Been getting gas here because it's cheaper than in Mayfield. Today we shopped for fertilizer. It was Mother's Day weekend, so the store was very busy, the parking lot was packed. We agreed that Mayfield's store can be busier. This store is like all the rest--clean, neat and organized. You still need to go down the aisles because food and some pharmacy items move around. Not all items are available all the time. At Mayfield I saw Kraft Miracle Whip. Here it was Avocado whipped dressing. There was a lot of bedding linens, but not many books. If you see something you want you need to get it. Check out was fast. Bathrooms were clean. Employees were helpful. The $1.50 hotdog/drink everyday special was a hit, and it's a large all-beef dog. ugh love this Costco. They're nice here, the shelves are stocked, the place is clean. Tons of free samples. Can't beat the prices and quality. Never had a bad experience here with any employee or anything. The cashiers are super effective and timely, so the lines move hella fast. I even had my tires worked on at a different Costco and they did the checkup for free. Even the auto people here are super nice. I did. It renew my membership to Sam's Club and switched to Costco because I had been reading how they enforce the use of masks well before cities did. To me that is a big deal. They value safety over money. They were willing to turn down a customer for safety. After visiting this location, I promptly signed up. The people were friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. They cared about me as a person and answered all my questions patiently. The store itself was clean, neat and stocked! Where Sam's club still had empty shelves, this place didn't! Costco is one of my favorite places. You can get almost everything here. This is the Costco closest to my parents house so we came when visiting them. This particular time, my husband needed to get his eyes checked, so we made an appointment with the optometrist here. It was way cheaper than anywhere else we've ever gone. It cost $65 without insurance which I think is about half of what we usually pay. It didn't take too long, so I picked up some groceries and browsed for free samples while I waited. Unfortunately, not all Costco's have an optometrist (ours at home doesn't). The best part about this Costco is that it's not crowded. I've never seen a Costco with so few people. You know when you're glasses pinch your head behind your ears and you get a headache? You have them adjusted a few times, and finally end up with frames so loose they fall of your head. Then you give in and buy a cord to keep them tight to your head and prevent them from falling and hitting the ground.... Yeah that was me, UNTIL TODAY (Friday the 13th, woot!). I had one of the best experiences ever at this vision center. Everyone was wonderful, but most of my interactions were with CHARLES who went above and beyond my expectations. -He is a perfectionist. -He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. -He answered my thousand questions about glasses without getting annoyed; I was specifically concerned about switching to progressives, and he put me at ease by giving me tips which came from his first hand experience of wearing them. -He spent time helping me choose the right frames. I had a pair in mind, but I'd accidently grabbed the wrong size, so I was unsure about them. He grabbed about 10 other frames to try on and finally found the right size Prada ones I'd tried on earlier in the day which I loved. -He helped me decide which transition color (grey, brown, or green) would look best with the tortoise shell frames and settled I on the grey. - Then, and this goes back to my opening statement, he fixed my WP glasses, which I didn't even realize were broken. He switched out the screws that were loose, fixed the barrel, and then heated and bent them into a shape that stayed on my face but didn't pinch my head or give me a headache! I'm so thrilled!! It's crazy how many times I've had them adjusted in the past but no one has been able to accomplish that. Of note, for people purchasing glasses here: you chose a frame which has a price listed on it, then you chose your lens. Regular prescription lenses are $60, progressives are $130, and adding transitions is an additional $30. My Prada were $169+ $130 + $30 = $329. I took into consideration a bunch of factors before settling on buying my lenses here. I'm used to normal lenses which are cheaper. My current glasses are from Warby Parker, which prior to today, I thought was the best glasses place ever (until Charles' customer service blew them out of the water). My WB glasses cost $100 with a 1 year scratch replacement warranty, but if I got the progressives there, they start at $295, and I believe there is an additional fee for adding transitions. So, either way I'd be spending very $300. I also looked online and found the same Prada lenses in black instead of tortoise shell for less cost, but you never know what your getting when you order online. Is it truly that brand name or a knock off? And how do the get your vertical pupil level without checking in person? Needless to say, these factors mattered, but Charles' customer service and knowledge was what did me in. Please thank him for me. He is amazing and I will be saddened I'd he ever leaves. read more

This Costco is so much more spacious and calm inside than my regular Costco back home in Reno. Although my mom laments the loss of the golf course every time she drives past it, she also loves going there and buying the things she likes in bulk at a great price. I love how much open space and greenery surrounds the Costco. The aisles are also very wide. What a difference it makes compared to my urban Costco! We went on a Saturday morning, and all of the employees we encountered were friendly. And damn, there were some mighty fine male employees who looked like all they did when they weren't working was lift weights! I'm looking at you, dude who helps people unload their carts at the cashier. It makes me happy that so many more Northeast Ohioans have a good job because they work here. I was in town for a family party, and we were able to get so many party-related food, beverage, and utensil items here for a great price. I bought new tires online from Costco. The price was not much better than I could have gotten from the manufacturer's store. I made an appointment to have the tires changed at the Boston Heights store. The instructions told me to arrive 15 minutes early, which I did. I shopped for 45 minutes and returned to the tire department. Nothing. Nobody. I looked through the window and did not see my car on a lift. Good news? No. An hour after I had arrived, I saw a technician wheel four tires into the service bay. I asked if they were mine and she said yes. She said it would take 3-4 minutes to finish, which was absurd. An hour later, the job was done (2 hours total). They said the compressor had stopped working. How can a tire shop have only one compressor? I did not feel like a valued "member" that day. read more

This Costco is well organized & clean. We drive over 40 miles each way to shop here. It's got bulk items such as TP & paper towels as well as fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, frozen food, books etc. The only problem is finding help if you can't locate certain items, so we end up going up & down aisles till we locate the item or similar items. Talk about brand new. Costco has to be a good place to work. I don't think I've ever walked into a Costco and had a bad experience with a neg employee. This one only proves my point. I am in canton and I drove the 30 miles to come by electronics. Again Costco just has the better deal with upgrades at a reasonable cost. (Of course not everything is cheapest here). The lines are a little long and it would be nice if they had their people scanning carts to be prepared for payment like they do in other Costco's but that's a small con to a greater pro. The only thing different about this Costco is that they require receipts to get price adjusted, a management thing I guess. Every Costco has sales and this one is no different. They aren't a highly trafficked Costco so it's not super busy if you are looking for a more quiet Costco trip! I have purchased all my glasses here for over 7 years. I can not reason with some of the harsh reviews. There has never been a problem with any order. The quality of their frames are very good. The prices beat everyplace around the West L A area. I saw on one review that they wanted to use their old frame and just buy lenses. It is simply not worth it as the charge for this has a premium and their frames are priced right. I had forgotten my prescription and it wasn't on file so she had me e-mail it over. Everything was completed without a hitch, all in under 10 minutes! This Costco Optical shop is very busy so make sure you take a number right when you arrive. Be prepared to wait 5 or 10 minutes, maybe longer. The staff are great, very efficient, just slammed all the time. They are friendly, polite, and get the job done right the first time. The selection of frames is limited but their prices for both frames and lenses is way lower than Lensecrafters or other big optical chains. Costco Pharmacy ~ You are simply the best! I needed medication filled for my senior dog. I had been to another Pharmacy in the area that had not treated me so well so I called Costco Pharmacy to see if I could have a prescription transferred. They took care of everything. The staff was so compassionate and caring, they would ask how my dog was doing, help explain the medications and reach out to me if we had any issues. My sweet fur-baby passed away very recently however she was in good veterinary hands and had her medication needs taken care of until the end, thanks to Costco Pharmacy. We heard great things about Costco hearing aids and made an appointment at the Boston Heights store for my mother. I've never experienced such rude service (actually lack of service). We arrived early and then waited 35 minutes past our appointment time. The person conducting the hearing test was having a personal issue and needed to leave the booth several times. He finally cut our visit short and suggested we make another appointment. My mother was so upset about the whole thing she was shaking when we left. Not Location Specific Costco glasses have provided the worst experience I have ever had in getting prescription glasses. First, they filled the prescription incorrectly. Secondly, I had no idea that they have no warranty at all! While the frames are OK so far, after less than 5 months the lenses have scratches that make the pair virtually useless. Granted, I am fairly rough on glasses since I do not wear them all the time and place them in my pocket. However, I have been buying glasses for most of my 65 years and these held up the worse of any pair I have owned. Every other place I have bought glasses they came with at least a 2 year warranty for both the frames and lenses. I will never buy glasses again from Costco. Their lenses are complete junk as far as I am concerned. Buyer beware!! read more

I actually did a dance when I heard that a Costco was coming to the Akron area. Now, don't imagine that too much....it may cause nightmares. It happened, I did it, it is over. We have needed a Costco in this area for a long time. I never thought I would see it in my lifetime. But HERE IT IS! This Costco is absolutely gorgeous. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the layout on the inside. Everything is exactly where I would put it. I guess those 3,000 comment cards really do make a difference. Costco has the most amazing produce, fantastic wine selection and pricing, SLAP YO MOMMA good rotisserie chickens and the absolutely BEST selection of GF, natural and health conscious foods of any warehouse club. The only thing I do not like about this location is the parking. I think the human who designed the parking lot was drinking far too much affordable wine from the club. WTF?
