The shop is medium sized, nowhere near some of the big stores, but what you will find is really high quality items at a great price. The Discovery Shop has a nice if not huge selection of clothes, they have just recently expanded the men's area in the back to allow for more variety. Most of the items are high end and usually very current. Where the Discovery Shop really shines is the selection of art, decor and interesting items. It seems that they get more upscale donations then most thrift stores, plus they are raising money for a great cause. Other items include books, media, all kinds of kitchenware, plates, glasses and jewelry. Prices are reasonable, what makes it even better is that they have a 50% discount color every week and the last weekend of each month the entire store is 50% off. Over the years I have found some really nice sports coats and a number of carved wood items at the Discovery Shop. Well worth a stop to check out if you are looking for some great items at good prices, plus it is great to support the American Cancer Society. I also want to shout out the volunteers at the Discovery Shop, they are always friendly and helpful and the store is well set up, organized and attractive.

You have Ro sift and search doe hidden gems and unless you like that kind of thing, I'd visit a different location. It's like the neighborhood/ shopper demographic determines how organized the store is and this one has so many random racks of "sidewalk sale" junk as soon as you enter the door...just throw it away. It's damaged, broken, or missed pieces.

Located inside the Northside Marketplace, Rubber City Clothing is a t-shirt shop to wear local…read morepride. And Rubber City Clothing deserves kudos at something super important: inclusivity. I think their model is here so simple but genius. They offer hundreds of different shirts - colors, brands, lengths - and you pick your shirt. Next, you choose the design from their wall and they create you a custom shirt in a few minutes. There is nothing worse than walking into a shop like this only to discover that the women's sizes look like they should fit children and that the mens sizes look too short for your tall friend. By offering a diverse range of brands, lengths and sizes, you can find anything you need. So, I'm not from Akron. Aside from liking The Black Keys and Lebron James, I don't have any relationship to the city. While most of the designs are Akron-focused, they have one Ohio-focused one I selected. My t-shirt came out great. It is so comfy and I love the color (because I picked it). Such a wonderful store with wonderful people. I'll be back!

I was surprised by how enormous the store is and noticed that it had been reorganized inside. There's quite a large selection of luggage it turns out, but I had already bought what I needed at another store. I spent some time looking at clothing and accessories and that was more of what I remembered about Gabe's. The store has a huge selection and very low prices, but the sizes are all mixed together and you have to check every garment for flaws as they are all new but often imperfect. I found a couple good summer tops for less than $5 each and a better brand jacket for $20. If you have some time and enjoy treasure hunting, this is a fun place to look and you can score some real bargains. Service is limited but checkout was friendly.

Some of us got back in line a 2nd or even a 3rd time because we kept finding things that seemed to scream out husband/son/dad/Guy's name. The owner, William, sharply dressed in cool vest - was just delightful. Can't wait to go back!
