I have used this pharmacy for 5 yrs., for a few things & seen it go through at least 1 mgmt change. * For most of my prescriptions I don't have any issues. I use their auto-refill feature and signed up for text notifications. That has worked well. * I really like the drive-thru feature; especially in Winter months. * I also like that their auto-reminder for pick ups confirms your co-pay so there aren't any surprises. A couple of times when I didn't like the price using my insurance, I called & had them re-do it using Good Rx so that when I went to pick it up I wouldn't hold things up. * I used them to fill an Urgent Care prescription & it took a little longer than I liked, but then I found out that the Urgent Care tech has to have prescriptions reviewed by a supervising physician before sending to a pharmacy & that can take 20-30 minutes. Then it goes into a queue with hundreds of other prescriptions that the pharmacy has already rec'd that day ahead of mine. Some of those are also from other Urgent Care facilities. I decided to drive the 15 miles home, have a snack & wait for the text notification. All-in-all, I think it took abt 2.5 hrs to fill the Rx, but that's no worse than other locations where I've had to have that done. * For in-store shopping... well, it's disappointing but I'm not sure if that's because a lot of things have to be locked up from theft. OTC meds are hard to access & I did give up once when no one came to help unlock the thing, but simple stuff (Chips, snacks, cards) are easy. The staff has been nice about 97% of the time. I think I got an idiot once, a toad another time & a simpleton a 3rd time. That's life. read more

I genuinely don't understand how a pharmacy can repeatedly get something as basic as a prescription completely wrong. Multiple times, a prescription has been sent to this Walgreens, and the app/system shows it as "confirmed." I make the trip to the pharmacy, only to be told they don't actually have the prescription. This has happened multiple times, not just once. At this point, "confirmed" apparently means "confirmed that we have absolutely no idea what's going on." I understand that pharmacies get busy and mistakes happen, but when the exact same issue keeps happening over and over, it stops being an isolated mistake and starts looking like a serious competence and communication problem. The amount of wasted time, unnecessary trips, and frustration is ridiculous. If you can't reliably process a prescription or accurately communicate whether you actually have it, what exactly are customers supposed to rely on? The ineptitude of the people that work here deserves its own further review. Too bad negative stars isn't an option. read more

I recently developed a serious back condition and saw my doctor yesterday, who informed me that I will need surgery. In the meantime, they prescribed a strong pain medication to help manage the pain until my procedure can be scheduled. This morning, I noticed through the Walgreens app that my prescription wasn't being covered by my insurance. After waiting about an hour, I discovered that Walgreens had simply canceled the prescription instead of contacting me to ask whether I wanted to pay out of pocket. Considering the circumstances, a simple phone call could have prevented a lot of unnecessary delays. I reordered the prescription through the app and immediately called the pharmacy to let them know I was happy to pay out of pocket. I spent over an hour on hold before finally reaching someone, only to be placed on hold again. After another 15 minutes, the phone started ringing repeatedly before the call was ultimately disconnected. I called back and asked to speak with the manager, but instead I was transferred back to the pharmacy and had to wait on hold yet again before finally reaching someone. At that point, I was told my prescription would be ready by 1:00 p.m. Unfortunately, 1:00 p.m. came and went with no update and no prescription. When I called again, I was simply told they were too busy and would get to it when they could. I reminded them that I had already called earlier in the day and had been told it would be ready, but the only response I received was that I would have to keep waiting. Because I was in so much pain, my wife called the store herself and spoke with the manager. Only then did someone step in and make sure the prescription was filled promptly. When my wife arrived to pick it up, she noticed several pharmacy employees standing behind the counter doing nothing while customers continued to wait. After standing in line for about 10 minutes, another employee walked into the back and began arguing with several of the staff members. I understand that pharmacies can get busy, and I try to be patient with healthcare workers. However, the lack of communication, excessive hold times, missed commitments, and apparent disorganization made an already painful situation much worse. When someone is waiting on medication after being told they need surgery, timely communication and basic customer service should be a priority. read more

I ended up in Urgent Care across the parking lot while on a vacation and needed antibiotics. This UC suggested another Walgreens because this place was notoriously slow. I don't know the area, so it was easier to just let them fill this super quick 14 pill prescription. I showed up about 20 minutes after my appt - hoping my script was in the system and I wanted to give my pharmacy card info. Phil at the reception/intake is a TOOL. The guy finger pokes the computer (been there since '21 so he should be able to type), he has no sense of urgency, and is lazy - straight up lazy. He finally found my prescription at 4:45pm-ish after telling me they don't have it - which I knew they did. He tells me they have to type it in, since it was sent over electronically. I understand....I know how this works. I left there concerned, but didn't have many options. I finally got a text saying they received a prescription for me - AT 6:17PM!!!!! An hour and a half later.... FRUSTRATING to say the least. Angry because I was in pain and needed those antibiotics to start working STAT but I was also understanding that we must be getting close to getting it filled by then since it was finally added into the system. My fault for having false hope for competency. ANYWAY, I never heard back from them, so I called them back and waited on hold for almost 17 minutes....at 7:45pm. And when the pharmacist answered the phone, she said "oh! You can come right down. It'll be ready!" I needed those antibiotics FAST and then all of the sudden they're ready when I call!? But I got no notification - UNTIL I CALLED. I was so angry. I was even on their text notifications....so they just weren't doing their jobs there. This was a 3 hour wait that Phil told me would be about an hour...that I never got notification for. Just an all around HORRIBLE and INCOMPETENT experience with this Walgreens. I know there are other people there, but clearly I'm not an anomaly here. Corporate needs to take a long hard look at this place and how it's run. This is terrible. read more

After no one showed up I went to the front to have someone open the shelf and have to wait in line for another 5 minutes for the cashier to ring up 2 people. As I am standing in line I see 2 employees talking while standing around doing nothing the entire time. Finally asked to have the shelf opened and was told someone would be over. After going back to the isle, I wait another 5 minutes. Finally someone shows up after slowly walking over. I went down on three separate visits from Amador County to pick up pain medication of which I told was told they were still working on and that they were trying to get a hold of my doctor and find out later after three trips and no pain management for almost 2 weeks that there's a nationwide shortage on my pain medication And so I get a hold of my doctor and he calls in something different and I ended up being in the hospital going down afterwards to pick up my medication and it was not available and placed back on the pharmacy shelves so I asked them if they could please fill it cause I had just gotten out of the hospital and they said I could come back an hour later to pick up my medication even though I live far away and I've been sick and it's been filled. If I could rate ZERO stars for this Walgreens pharmacy I would. I've been here 4 times trying to get a vaccine that I'm only able to get for 4 weeks. Every time I come in there is a different problem. After going in yesterday with an updated prescription the pharmacist said they don't have the new prescription and to come back today. Today I call to make sure they have my prescription and that everything is settled they say now they don't have any stock of the vaccine and need to order it and it won't be here until Monday which would then disqualify me from getting it because it's outside of the 4 weeks. So I asked them to ask pharmacy to squeeze her in (takes 3 min for a shot) and they said sorry we had a 5, 510 and 6pm you'll have to come another day. This pharmacy is by far the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with! Not only is my cancer medications NOT ready each month (I have to called them a day in advance EACH MONTH to make sure it's ready for pick up), but they also question and request that the prescribing physician CALLS THEM regarding each medication (that you have been taking for years), even though they have already received the approved Rx from the physician. When the doctor leaves this pharmacy a voicemail requesting for the medication to be released, the pharmacist declines it, stating the doctors request was "not specific enough." In addition, the wait in the drive-thru lane and/or inside the store is more than 30 minutes, while there's 3-4 people "working" on the other side. I don't believe they care how they affect real people's health on a daily basis. I highly suggest another pharmacy. You will regret this location! read more

The pharmacist here is vengeful and enjoys a power trip. Rx faxed early morning by MD, I went to pick up for a friend who had symptoms and could not pick up herself. Pharmacy staff rolls in after 9am and verifies that they've received the rx. I ask how long it will take to fill, the pharmacist says she can guarantee within 1hr, by 10am because they have many scripts waiting to be filled. Mind you, I'm the only one there at this point and I ask if they can fill it now while I wait. She cannot. I verify the patient phone number on file and they say they'll text her when the rx is ready. I shop at the Walgreens, check out, and check back at 9:30 for an update on ETA of the rx. She now says after 11am. I sigh, and leave because I have another commitment and now someone else will have to come pick it up later. Our other friend goes to pick up after the pharmacy texts our friend that the rx is ready. Now the pharmacy is closed for lunch until 2. They roll in casually at 2:15pm, and give her a hard time for not knowing the patient's birthdate. She calls our friend who is still symptomatic, confirms the birthdate and hangs up. Then the pharmacist looks her in the eye and asks for the address. *Did you not see that we were just on the phone with the patient and could you have thought to ask for the address before we hung up?* Pharmacist finally fills the non narcotic, non controlled substance medication. I'm pretty sure this pharmacist is just miserable and hates her life, so I feel sorry for the choices she has made and people left in her wake. But if you're reading this, Ms. pharmacist, it's not too late to get out. It's probably not you, but the system that has turned you into another rusty cog in the machine. I know how that feels. But there's a world of kind people out there and it's not too late to be one of them. May you be happy. read more

They are always out of stock of most of the things I order. I have transferred most of my orders to Costco and they have excellent customer service and always have everything in stock. So I've finally transferred my meds to another company. It's further away, but I just couldn't deal with the staff. The pharmacist is of course still working there. I guess her job is safe despite the numerous reviews here and elsewhere. The issues are still there. Even trying to leave this dump was a headache. I requested meds to be transferred. I call the new location and asked what's taking so long and they said they were waiting for Walgreens to do the "paperwork" or "transfer request". OF COURSE IT WOULD BE THEM that's not doing their job. And when it finally transfers, the meds that were suppose to be filled were not and the ones that I did not need yet were! Worst pharmacy ever! They definitely don't care about the health needs customers have, which is the ONLY reason people are there to begin with. They don't EVER answer their phones unless it's to mumble a brief second while they hit the hold button and leave you there until the phone rings again. Ugly cycle. I was on hold this time 30 minutes before the phone finally rang over a minute then someone picked up and hung up. I called back and the cycle was repeated. I don't have the type of patience to do this but if it wasn't a medical need that affects my baby's health, I wouldn't even bother. Walking in, is just as bad.. waiting in line 30 minutes to be told the prescription hasn't been filled when it was called in by the provider 8 hours earlier is unacceptable. I do get sometimes coming across these issues but this is a norm for this store. It won't let me leave it at 0 stars so I reluctantly selected the one just to get this review in. This store should absolutely be scrutinized by the Better Business Bureau. They don't call or text as are supposed to when they have to order your supplies so if you want to call to follow up, good luck! And if you show up.. GOOD LUCK! The management staff is not properly trained or the employees I have made a purchase of multiple items paid with Apple Pay and partially with cash. I brought three of the items to return. I asked them to refund it to me that said he's going to go back on the Apple pay. I ask them to show me which items I paid with cash and which items I paid with Apple Pay they could not identify which ones I paid with cash or Apple Pay but yet it chose to refund it to the Apple Pay, which it did not show up on my Apple Pay at the store and I addressed it to them right then and then with the assistant manager, I showed them that my Apple Pay still shows zero dollars and I asked assistance store manager once again to show me which items I paid with cash and which ones with Apple Pay he also could not show me but yet they chose to refund it to a debit card and I don't have in the system and still have not received my money now they're telling me to call the number they have provided to find out where is my money. They are on trained. Unprofessional cannot answer any questions that I have for them. There was a lady with the biggest attitude as a manager, and the assistant manager was a Indian guy with the glasses and bald head I asked for their business card he said doesn't have one. They have zero knowledge of their system the way it works one of the other employees who refunded gave me a copy of the receipt as well that they are supposed to keep when I asked the manager this is your receipt. He said yes and I asked him so do you properly train your people? He said no he was begging for me to give him the receipt which I did and I told him your employees are not properly trained and he said yes they are not trained properly. Worst pharmacy EVER!!! I have been going here for around 12 years and have watched the decline happen. This week alone I waited in line about two hours, and still do not have my prescriptions. I also called and waited on hold for a good 20 minutes was told all my prescriptions are ready and now I am here once again 30 minutes in the drive-through line and my prescription still or not felt I refused to leave the drive-through line without them. Tina the "shift leader" needs an attitude check. As a first time with shipping something, I went to Walgreens since the usual employees have great assistance and customer service. However, Tina has a complex far beyond a customer service job for anyone who needs help. Instead of just explaining where to get packaging, labels, etc she drives into a lecture on how SHE isn't able to do anything if I don't have it. Terrible customer service the worst drug store ever!!! The first time i went here I had to wait 25 minutes in the drive-through line and that was with me being the second car in line. The next time I drove right up to the window and it took time 10 minutes to just answer the window and another 15 to help me with two prescriptions. My wife has had bad luck with calling the pharmacy, twice she has had to wait over 45 minutes on the phone. The second time I called on my phone while she had been put on hold numerous times without them asking here to hod they just kept putting her on hold. So I asked to talk to the manager and I told him the situation. He went over to the pharmacy and my wife asked them her question on my phone. This pharmacy is incompetent and lazy. I have been on accutane for what is now the fourth month of pick up, I have verified with the pharmacist that they will have it in stock because I'm taking it for a 6 month period, every single month, going on month four, they are out of it! They do not call to let me know they are out of it, instead it says insurance delayed, the insurance is not delayed. The insurance is fine. There's a difference between not having in stock and insurance being delayed. They should let you know they're out of it and when to expect it especially if you can only pick it up in a 7 day window?!!!!! I go to pick up my prescription, they're out, they suggest sending it to a Walgreens within the area to get it filled bc it's the last day I can pick it up. I call my dr, have it sent to that Walgreens, guess what?!!! They don't have it in stock. The woman from this Walgreens was wrong! You'd think she would call to verify, or so I thought, but wrong again. Lazy. So then I have to take another blood test, another pregnancy test at my expense to have it reissued to me and get it ordered from the original Walgreens bc they say they'll have it in stock for me. I do it. I show up to pick up my prescription and guess what?! They haven't ran it through the system so It'll be another 30-40 minutes. The pharmacist knows to run it through the ipledge program. So this is a huge waste of mine time, lazy, incompetent and no apology. The no apology is what makes me write this review. This is at no fault of my own, I shouldn't have to call repeatedly to get this taken care, but I did, i shouldn't have to take extra blood work at my expense but I did, I shouldn't have to sit here an extra 30-40 minutes when this isn't my fault that they didn't run it through the system and with all of it, ZERO APOLOGY. Be better than that. Come on. Also, if I'm explaining my frustration with this pharmacy, explaining why this is so inconvenient for me please allow a customer to finish rather than interrupting while not offering an apology. read more

I've always been grateful to have this store in our community. They came to the Anatolia area years before any other businesses. It was nice to at least have a store that sold milk, bread, eggs, and other basic food items (beer, wine, and soda included) in addition to all the other great products like medicines, household items, personal care items, etc. it seems like the products they sell have expanded over the years, and I appreciate that. They have a photo/graphic arts department where we have had pictures and custom refrigerator magnets made. Their staff have always been friendly, well trained, and and helpful. read more

I've been coming to this Walgreens since it opened in July of 2011. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm the one who first entered it in Yelp! That said, I have a medical condition that has to be very closely managed (translation: I take a LOT of meds). I've been all around the area to lots of different pharmacies looking for one I could call "home." I'm very happy to report that my search has ended. It's HERE at this Walgreens. Let me start by giving you the MAIN reason why this pharmacy operation stands head and shoulders above the other area pharmacies. They have a "secret weapon:" their pharmacy manager Daniela Sam!! She sets the tone in her staff that keeps me (and many others, I'm sure) coming back. Starting with Daniela, the entire staff is open, friendly, professional, compassionate, and skilled in the practice of pharmacy. They get pharmacy school student who precept there and I would tell you that they're learning a lot more than their classmates. I'm greeted with a bright and cheery "Hello Mr Gates!!" Pretty much every time I go there. They recognize and respect my own knowledge and experience as a former pharma company executive, so I'm not peppered with silly questions about my medications. It's ALWAYS a great experience there. I feel like I'm visiting friends. They care...they truly do! I could easily get my meds through mail order or use the drive-through...but why in the WORLD would I want to miss interacting with "my Peeps??" This gets a rare 5 Stars from me!!
