Walgreens provides great convenience in fulfilling prescriptions, but this is the only reason I have used this store. Rx services are available both via walk-in and drive through. However, walking in usually is faster. The store is never "clean." It always feels dirty and disorganized. The front window has now been broken for months and covered in wood. My review is based on Pharmacy customer service. I pulled into the pharmacy drive up window at 1:22pm. There were two cars in front of me. Each car pulled out their prescription. At 1:32pm, they set a red sign in the window saying the pharmacist was out. A pharmacist picked up the phone and said "Come back at 2pm". Then he hung up the phone and walked away. Is this how you treat patients? Is this how you speak to customers? I understand they need breaks; however, have some respect, consideration, and compassion for people picking up their prescriptions. Terribly disorganized, understaffed and confused in general. The Walgreens pharmacy in others states are generally pretty good. At this branch, They give you a different answer depending on who you talk to. The wait time over the phone is 30-40 min if you're lucky. I take serious medications that I can't afford to make mistakes with them. (I understand they had to take on the casework for Rite Aid but it's beyond that.) I would NOT recommend anyone go to this place if your medications are sensitive or serious. They seriously messed up multiple times and are frequently out of medications I need. Me and my family are leaving for another one even tho this is right down the street. Although I will say most of the employees seem kind and willing to help, the whole store is just very poorly managed IMO. read more

Stay away! It's Used to be great and now I would give it negative star if I could. When you call it just leaves you in the queue for 40 minutes and then hangs up. You have a 72 hour window to fill out a survey on service...I think giving your customers a week to respond would be more favorable. So, now let's talk about the store. The drive through pharmacy is a joke. They actually complete full transactional activity there in the drive through. Yes, you will wait while the pharmacist accepts prescriptions and fills them. The stores needs to take the three spaces next to the drive through and make them wait areas for those needing multiple or longer wait times. The drive through should be pick up or drop off only. Waiting 20 minutes while one car sits there is the norm at this store. The shelves are usually stocked with bare minimum. Maybe it's a COVID thing but when the ad states buy one and get a second half off and only one item is on the shelf makes it kind of hard to use the coupon. In summary, clean store, nice people however need LEAN processed. read more

Located at that crazy intersection of SW Barbour & Capital highway, this isn't the most convenient Walgreens for me but they had an item I needed in stock, so I took the ride out there. Hat is convenient is their drive through pharmacy. The store itself is your typical Walgreens, maybe a bit cleaner and brighter than most. The layout was not the typical footprint so took me some time to orient and find the items that I needed. My visit was during the Pandemic so there wasn't a lot of staff to help me locate items. When I got to the checkout, they had sanitizer available for customers which I really appreciate. There were two cashiers, both super friendly, fast and efficient. I was in and out in a matter of minutes once I found my items. Oh, and I found some dark chocolate for 50% off so made that random purchase as well! Walgreens often has sales on their candy so look for them! If you are heading back to downtown Portland, you will need to cross over SW Capital when you exit, no left turns allowed; the entrance to I5 South is the next left. read more

Waited in line for 15 mins behind another person waiting for the pharmacy drive through. As soon as I pull up and I have 2 other cars behind me, they put the sign up that they aren't dispensing any more meds because it's lunch time. Okay. You had 4 people in line, helped 1 and then told the rest of us to fuck off. Nice. All I need to pick up was my omeprazole. Something that is over the counter. Something I don't need to talk to a pharmacist for. Get more staff. Fix your hours. Or, here's a thought, serve the people already in line! Thanks for wasting my time. read more

Absolutely the worst performing pharmacy I've ever experienced. Their drive thru lane takes twice as long as they usually have one staff member covering both the drive thru and inside counter. Now they've changed the hours from those published. I have been there 5 times in the last 2 weeks during published hours only to see the "no pharmacist on duty" sign proudly displayed. IMO, pharmacies in general (everywhere/anywhere) across the US have been in a staffing deficit since the onset of Covid. That, coupled with a shortage of many drugs, and the ongoing issues with the insurance industry has turned the entire pharmacy process into a nightmare. I've had my share of spending hours wasted on hold, returning to the pharmacy only to find a RX was not filled for one reason or the other,etc. But it's not the fault of the poor workers behind the counter. Horrible experience with the Walgreens on Capital highway in Portland, Oregon! Never stepping foot in this place again. I unfortunately had my doctor send the prescriptions for bronchitis to them, as my regular pharmacy was closed on Saturday. I dropped by on the way home from the doctor and after waiting a half hour in line was told the prescriptions would be ready in three hours. I came back three hours later hoping to pick up the three prescriptions and was told they were out of two of the three medications and didn't know when they would get them. They had the least important of the medications, a nasal spray, but I would have to wait another 20 minutes because it wasn't processed yet. Sick and out of patience, I left. This pharmacy is clearly understaffed and under stocked. If you have choices, don't waste your time there. read more

I've never thought about reviewing a drug store, but SHOPPER BEWARE. This place is a hot mess. I rarely shop there, but regularly get my medication there, as they are my in-network medication provider, and they have a drive thru less than 2 miles from my home. They have managed to mess up so many of my prescription orders I can't begin to list them all. If that's not bad enough, they NEVER take responsibility for their screwups! When given constructive criticism they roll their eyes and say they have no control over anything! I've been told to pull into the parking lot while they resolve a problem, ( to stop the back up in the drive thru), only to see the employee who told me to do that put up the out to lunch sign and leave the store! The one time I went inside to purchase a sale item I needed, they were out. Got a rain check. When I came back to use it, the price on the rain check was their regular FULL price! Not the sale price! Rx called in by my doc Wednesday night . I was on hold half an hour in the morning to just to be told that the rx had not been filled and that I should call back after 2:30. I went in at 4:15 to pick up rx and was advised to sit and wait. While I was waiting, a pharmacy tech came out and dragged the gate across the pharmacy and closed it. It was 5:15. Someone came out to tell me that my rx wasn't filled and even if I waited, it wouldn't be filled. Even if I waited. Now it is 5:45 and my doctors office is closed. No meds. I have used this pharmacy since they opened and have always been satisfied with their service. I have had some issues with the filling of prescriptions but after looking into the reason it's been the doctors office who didn't send in the prescription even though they said they had. Prescription support at Walgreens is unacceptable. The online experience is unreliable and far from self-serve. The phone/live experience with Walgreens pharmacies in the Portland area have been equally frustrating. More often than not, there is a mix up with the prescription, the refill, or the insurance and the order is not ready when I pick up. When I've been forced to resolve problems by phone directly with the pharmacy (instead of online which would be preferable) I have routinely been put on hold for more than an hour. Worse, once I talk to someone live, I've rarely been helped - honestly, someone told me they were working with over 300 orders and couldn't provide any context to why my rx was delayed. This was after holding over an hour for a live person. I get understaffing and have withheld providing a negative review so as not to be unfair. But my experience with CVS has been so positive in comparison with Walgreens that I feel compelled to share. read more

They second guessed my Dr's written Rx that was submitted over 2 weeks ago. It was finally ready, 4 days ago. Which I had to check for, on line, after 2 wks of daily checking, they didn't notify me. I was shopping in an aisle for no more than 10 seconds and I notice somebody is staring at me. I look over and the cashier is ringing up a customer telling her to swipe her card or whatever, except she was standing almost 10 feet away from the cash register so she could get a better view of me shopping in the aisle. She didn't even break eye contact when I noticed her staring at me. I know I am good looking, but that is really creepy and definitely seems like racial profiling to me. I am not interested in stealing your $10 shampoos. Other times I have been followed around the store by managers, who walk up right next to me and pretend to be busy rearranging the shelves or just kinda standing there & they start questioning me. Not only that but most of the employees here are very rude and the cashiers won't even look at you and avoid eye contact. The only nice employees are the black guy with dreads and the black girl. This place ALWAYS is a hassle. Staff tell you different things depending who you talk to, simple prescription refills take days and are never ready on time. My current prescription has been pending for days saying "pharmacist review". Calling into the store is a nightmare. They checked computer and said warehouse had "plenty" and would be ready in a few days. I called the day after they said it would be ready and they said they only got a little. It's a busy place here on the corners of Barbur and SW Capitol Highway. Fortunately, my Son and I walked over to this Walgreens from our Hotel (and back) and lived to write this review. The primary purpose of our patronage were snacks for us, beer for me, and a few forgotten toiletries thrown in the plastic bags not yet banned in this neck of the woods. It was also Erev Halloween, which made for more interesting locals to watch and amuse. I've been waiting for this place to open for weeks. Unfortunately, by the time it finally did I had given up. It's close by work and I thought it would be a quick stop for things I forgot, etc. It's nice enough, has a lot of products just like the other Walgreens and has a drive up pharmacy. The only problem is the traffic pattern is such it's difficult to get into. You have to drive almost in a circle around it to get into it. Which is such a pain I've only been there once. I was notified 3 days ago that my prescription was ready for pick-up, but they have been short staffed and no pharmacist has been available to dispense the meds each time I've stopped by to get it. The same thing happened this morning - a sign was posted that said no pharmacist was on duty. So I spent 20 minutes on hold to find out how to get my prescription. The woman who answered said she was the pharmacist on duty today and they were in fact open for pick-up, despite the sign. She was very condescending and patronizing. I have never had a good experience at this pharmacy and after being spoken to like this after doing nothing but trying to clarify how to get my prescription after 3 days of trips back and forth, I'll be transferring all future prescriptions to somewhere other than Walgreens. read more

Still waiting to get Rx filled, first closed for lunch, then come back and waited where we were told to come back in 2 hours to pick it up. Come back in 2 hours to wait some more and they had not even looked at the Rx. How did I know they had not look at it? Because she said she would get right on it and it should only take another 25 minutes. Three minutes after leaving the counter Jana calls and says that she is not familiar with this doctor she couldn't read the signature. so we give her the name and contact number Now she will need to call the Dr. from the VA before she can fill the Rx. The only reason we went to Walgreens is because they have and arrangement with the VA, since VA pharmacy is closed and only mails Rxs. if you need medicine now you are supposed to go to Walgreens. Excellent way to treat a vet that is suffering. First wait to see the Dr. then take your Rx to a pharmacy that is incapable of helping you fill the Rx. read more
