As far as CVS goes these days, this store is decent. It's got a big parking lot off NE Broadway and 33rd. It's quite large and the shelves are actually stocked. I was able to find the product I needed after some searching. It is under-staffed so don't expect help, and you may need to wait a minute for someone to return to the register. The two stars is for the poor employees who are friendly, and we all know it's not their fault that there is next to nobody working at that store. My wife and I had initially came to this location to pick up our online order but decided to purchase more of the same product because of the discounted price. However, we noticed the prices were more expensive in store than the price we purchased online. Melissa, the team member said she wouldn't be able to match the price but when we asked how long it would take to process an online order, she said it would be the first thing she'll work on when it comes in. Once we placed the order, we immediately heard a beep signaling that they received the order. While we walked with Melissa to pick up the items from the shelves, we noticed we ordered the wrong items so she helped us cancel it and with just as fast and friendly service, helped us place another order! If there online pick up was an Olympic sport, Melissa would get a gold medal every time! read more

I'm surprising myself by reviewing a big chain drugstore instead of the little local restaurants I usually favor. But I had such a great experience at this CVS yesterday that I have to tell you about it. All four of the employees I interacted with were helpful, pleasant and friendly. In any business, you might meet one good (or one bad) employee. But when four out of four give great service, it's probably more than luck. I suspect that this store makes it a point to hire and train for good service. I went in for Covid and flu vaccines. I selected CVS because they had Novavax in stock, which is the Covid vaccine brand I wanted (I'm not recommending it; that's between you and your doctor, but it is harder to find than Moderna or Pfizer). There was a long line at the pharmacy; but I noticed one open window labeled "check in for vaccines," so I was able to avoid the line. Kudos to CVS for having such a window! The employee at the window made sure I could get both vaccines even though his computer record showed that I had only requested one (I don't know if I entered the wrong info online and don't care, since the store accommodated my wishes after I got there). After checking in I waited only a few minutes before being called by the pharmacist. She administered the shots and then stayed to chat with me and answer all my questions about them, making the recommended 15-minute wait before leaving (to make sure you don't have an severe reaction) a pleasant one. On the way out I shopped for a few items, and a friendly employee helped me find them. The fourth friendly employee helped me get a discount at checkout that normally only is for members of the CVS shoppers' club or something. Rather than pressure me to join the club, he told me I could consider it later but he would give me the discount now anyway. Overall a terrific experience at a big chain store, a pleasant surprise. When the robot has useful information for me, everything's fine. When I show up in person, everyone is delightful. If I call with a question that requires a human to answer the phone, I virtually always get the robot offering to call me back. CVS reported a profit of $4.6 BILLION last year. They CAN AFFORD to staff their pharmacies to be able to ANSWER PHONES (they can also afford to staff their pharmacies to not have to close for a lunch hour). read more

Huge, clean and well organized, this new CVS is a welcomed addition to the Hollywood neighborhood. Residing in the space previously occupied by QFC, it's hard to recall what the space used to look like. The store is bright, has large wide aisles making it easy to see and find items while keeping a safe distance during these Covid days. Grand Opening was March 25th with balloons and a red carpet announcing their arrival. Of course I had to go in! Having grown up on the east coast where CVS is more prevalent, I've always been a fan. Since it was day one, obviously everything was sparkling, but I liked the simple layout. The store is a big square with the checkout area is by the front door; the Pharmacy is in the back right corner; and all the aisles run vertical between these two areas. Since I wasn't there fir anything specific, I just cruised around to get familiar with the layout and items for future reference. Picked up two spontaneous items and was on my way. But I will definitely be back. The huge parking lot out front plus the easy access on and off I-84 makes it super convenient. read more

This store is just dirty inside and out. It's pretty clear they don't care. The previous tenant had a good neighbor agreement and placed trashed cans around their parking lot which they also swept daily. CVS just lets the trash blow around the neighborhood and can't even be bothered to clean graffiti. They need to find a better manager for this location read more

Pharmacy is understaffed and they admit it. Plan ahead and don't let your prescriptions get too low. Husband has a critical one and they said they needed almost a week and that included prioritizing it and said it was due to staffing not the product wasn't available. Shelves are under stocked - blank areas everywhere. Most items are very overpriced compared to like Walgreens. We try to only get non pharmacy items when we have a 40% coupon. read more

Just spoke to someone on the phone, who discarded my requests, pretended to by emotionally triggered and put me on hold to transfer to a pharmacist without actually doing it. Good job read more

Use this pharmacy at your own risk. The last two times I have refilled my most critical medication they have billed my primary insurance as secondary and secondary as primary. This has cost me hours on the phone calling my prescriber, CVS, and my primary insurance to identify what the problem is, and also cost my doctors office many hours of unnecessary work. I have attempted to fix the problem with CVS numerous times. These delays have caused me to come within a day or two of running out of medication altogether and getting very ill. read more

I've been using this CVS on NE 33rd in Portland since they opened a few years ago and they have always been kind and helpful. Sometimes they're busy and there's a wait, but they've always filled my prescriptions within a reasonable period of time and often quite quickly. Every employee I've encountered has been polite and responsive, though I will say it's really hard to reach them on the phone. I switched to this pharmacy after receiving terrible service many times at the nearby Fred Meyer and I'm glad I made the switch. read more

My short experience with this pharmacy is as follows: a) a script that the app said was ready wasn't b) a script (different one) was transferred to the pharmacy last week. I was informed that they had nothing on file c) after calling my doctor's office yesterday, the same script was called in yesterday afternoon. I called my doctor's office this morning to confirm as it's becoming a thing leaving this pharmacy empty handed d) I went in to pick up said script this morning only to be told that no script had been received from them and this is after being told by my doctors office that they had returned a confirmation receipt indicating that they had indeed received the script e) in both cases, nobody thought in the name of customer satisfaction that maybe an apology would be a thought. However, today added a new twist in that by now I was experiencing (and showing) withdrawal symptoms. Both the pharmacist and the 20 something both just sort of stood there and stared at me like somehow this entire situation was my fault. Long story short, it would appear as though my experience is similar to other reviewers on this page which means pharmacy staff either doesn't read these reviews or doesn't care. Given that the major pharmacy chains are closing across the country, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think that this one is on the short list. Good thing they work in a pharmacy because those ladies behind the counter are pills! Very unpleasant to deal with. Every time I've been in I've been reprimanded for standing in the wrong line. I've tried all the lines and I'm never right. Although I live in walking distance from this CVS, it's worth it to me to drive somewhere else and not have to deal with the rolled eyes and muttering from the gals. read more

Like others have said the store is filthy and nobody seems to care. Worse than a dollar store. Service has alway been bad since I transferred my business from Rite Aid. Today was the worst. My doctor sent in a prescription for an acute painful condition. I called in the afternoon and after waiting an hour finally talked to someone who promised me to have my script ready at 530 PM. I came at 5:45 and was told they were too busy and I'd have to wait. I had asked if it could be ready at 5 pm. She said no, but she' have it ready to pick up at 5:30pm After a day of work in pain I expressed to Nautica, who appeared to be the manager, that I was very disappointed. She didn't apologize. Just made excuses. She obviously didn't care that she had broken her promise. I suggested I might need a new pharmacy if they promise and can't deliver. She said she thought that was a good idea. Don't go here. I actually don't think they are capable of accurately filling your script in a timely manner.. They don't care about your well being. read more

I'm genuinely so perplexed - my prescription was "processing" for a full week and when I finally called today, I waited on hold for 10 minutes only to have the pharmacist cheerfully tell me verbatim that "a few times a month" they fall behind on prescriptions and are between a day and a few weeks late. I find CVS to be overpriced generally as compared to its drugstore chain and grocery competitors, but gave it a shot bc I had a $5 off $20+ purchase coupon from a CVS flu shot I had obtained. 11/3 @ 7:30ish at this location, the cashier refused to honor it unless I signed up for their CVS rewards program. Compared to Safeway (20% off overall purchase flu shot coupon regardless of being a rewards member), a damn cruddy bait and switch. Not surprised by these big chain drugstores. read more

We switched to this pharmacy because it's near our home and has a parking lot. Those things are true. We also thought it would be a convenient place to shop for drugstore items, like toothpaste, cough drops, pain relievers etc. That's not true; there are bare shelves all over. I considered myself lucky to find 3 of 5 items on my list; in fact, I no longer even look at the shelves. I order from Amazon. And we figured we would get, not the personal service we'd had at our old pharmacy, but acceptably efficient service. Definitely not true. The pharmacy, like the store, is intentionally understaffed and understocked. They're aggressive about automatic refills to fluff their cash flow, but new prescriptions take days to fill. And you find that out only after standing in line for as long as 10 minutes. When you protest that you received a text saying it should be ready, you are told you should ignore the "automatic" phone calls and texts because they come from Rhode Island and are meaningless. I had minor surgery this morning. My doctor transmitted the prescription for pain meds at 11. I received a text saying it would be ready after 2:30. At 4:00, my husband was told to check back in 48 hours, that they didn't have the medication and there were many other patients waiting ahead of us. Really? read more

Good alternative to Walgreens and Fred Meyer pharmacies in the neighborhoods around NE 33rd and Broadway. They filled our prescriptions quickly, and the lines were non-existent or short. The pharmacist was helpful and friendly, and it was easy to have them switch my prescriptions from Walgreens (which is fine, but CVS is closer to our house). They also have a good selection of health and personal care items, some food and snack items, and I think beer and wine. The store is bright and spaced out. read more
