How can customers, particularly older customers, climb stairs and return home without a bag ripping with these worthless sacks? I visited this Albertsons while charging my EV via Volta at their parking lot. Today is Memorial Day weekend, and they had a special BBQ event. Karlyn was serving at the grill, expertly cooking ribs to each customer's preference. The Starbucks inside was also giving out free samples throughout the store, adding to the welcoming and festive atmosphere. Karlyn not only grilled my ribs to perfection but also recommended a delicious salad to go with them from the salad bar. The whole experience was a total delight, and together with the discount, everything was under $10! Please note that the rib grilling is a special event held only on occasions like Memorial Day weekend, Labor Day, and the 4th of July. I give credit automatically these days to grocery stores which have motorized carts charged up, accessible and easy for those of us who really do need them. I have detached tendons which means the heels of my feet have next to no cushion. Doing a hole grocery shop on a hard surface floor is, a lot. And not having to hunt someone down to ask and or to dig one out - it is appreciated. The store itself seems arranged a bit strangely where a lot of the dairy is broken up weird but, the main overwhelming thing was the smell. Starting in the deli which waivered through a few aisles down was this... not quite fish smell but not quite not fish smell either. I was glad I was not doing a shop for me or getting near eating time because it was quite off putting. I went to the other side of the store and had to come back for something and boom.... You know when you think maybe it was from outside or it was not real...but oh no, it was making me glad I did not need anything from the deli or produce. Where I want to give them five stars is the customer service. I was there at store closing approach and every single person there was so nice and wanting to help! I mentioned I was trying to find a candy bar for my customer and was bummed they did not seem to have it. There were other things to and just wow, service with a smile, no rush. It was so amazing. So, two stars down just because WOW, that smell was a LOT but genuinely, their customer service is amazing. read more

Dear Albertsons: Hi there! I went to Albertsons for the first time today and since I won't be going there ever again, I thought I would let you know why. I work in a new area of town and was looking for a grocery store close to my work. I drove by the Albertsons on Boones Ferry Rd, Lake Oswego, and decided to try it. The checker was not very professional and my food from the deli wasn't that great (in particular I bought a rotini pasta that was so undercooked I had to throw it away)..... .....but these are minor compared to my experience in the produce area.....I was initially so pleased with the way the produce was arranged, how fresh it is, the organic section clearly labelled, and I was happily making my way through it when suddenly I was jarred with a loud TV advertisement about Bindi Irwin's clothing line for kids. I looked up to find this enormous flat screen TV hanging over the apples and blaring it's horrible advertisement at full blast (to emphasize, the TV was way, way too loud). Annoyed, I took what I had to the checkout stand to find even MORE TV's at each stand, flashing some sort of advertisement! I expect to be slammed with that intensity of visual and audio advertising in Las Vegas, perhaps, but not at my local grocery store. Your advertising department needs a major overhaul. Blaring flat screen TVs and Bindi "The Jungle Girl" Irwin aside, we use this Albertson's for Saturday work lunches during tax season. Usual menu is we pick up a few boxes of the fried in the store chicken, cole slaw, macraroni salad and a few pies. This has always proved to be a positive lunch experience for our office. The chicken is always seasoned perfectly, which is something that is hard to find in a in-store fried chicken. I mean it is light years ahead of the chicken of Winco and even Safeway. The star is usually the macaroni salad, it is just an excellent balance and the pasta is never overcooked. Yeah, a trip into almost any grocery store today is an exercise in blocking out the constant bombardment of ads. I mean, c'mon, we are already there to spend money and honestly I don't care how great you make something sound there are constants in the universe... 1. People are budgeting these days and we're not buying extras 2. Does the amount of impulse buys really offset the costs? 3. Bindi Irwin is a disturbing little girl to watch. read more

So I had an exchange with of the senior store managers (Tom B.) there regarding two avocados that turned out bad and had asked for him to exchange these for new ones of lesser value. Unbelievably, he was condescending and incredibly smug, refusing, then and asked me for a receipt for those two bad avocados. Wow, how petty. I spend thousands of dollars per year (no more) at this location and he doesn't want to do right for me with a minor customer service issue. The bottom line is they don't get it. Customer Service is the brand, it's everything. I won't shop there again. This one individual cost this store thousand of dollars future in revenue. First it was Albertsons. Then it was Haggen. Now it is Albertsons again. I prefer Albertsons. I never liked it as Haggen, so I am glad it is back. Checkout has always been a breeze, staff has always seemed friendly even when I have them check in back for something that is out of stock on the shelves and I have never had a problem with the pharmacy there. I live in the area. I like Albertsons and the location. I like the staff and selection of grocery items. I will definitely return. read more

I like my local Aberts. In the land of Zupans, Whole Foods, New Seasons, etc., it's sad when I say that Albertsons is reasonably priced. I always find what I'm looking for, I don't feel like I have over spent (see above), it's convenient, clean, nice enough staffing. I am so happy with the pharmacists at this store. Every time I've been in they are so helpful, and they take the time to make sure I'm taken care of. One time I was leaving town and needed a last minute scrip, but they were out. So they called around the town I was going to, transferred the scrip, and called me on the road to let me know it would be ready when I got there. Talk about the extra mile. Bakery: I ordered a birthday cake for my 4 year old last minute and Albertsons bakery staff went above and beyond. The entire experience was great: everyone was friendly and made sure I was able to order the perfect cake; even last minute. The cake turned out fantastic and tasted great. I refuse to go into the store on lower Boone's Ferry Rd ever again. I am a blue collar guy, and I shop there in my work clothes. I guess my appearance makes me a "person of interest" to the store director, a strange gentleman named Greg B. Every time I entered the store he would seem to make it his business to walk down the same aisle and ask me if he could help me find anything. The last straw was when I came in for lunch and couldn't find anything suitable in the deli, outside, in the parking lot, I was accosted by Mr. B who badgered me about "not finding anything I wanted" etc. Several of my coworkers (House painters) told me they'd had similar encounters with Greg B. The rest of the staff has always been courteous, by the way. I've also noticed that the store demographics (especially checkers and management) skew overwhelmingly white...Co-incidence? I wonder. Fortunately the Safeway stores are close by. It's unfortunate you have to lose customers because a store director feels compelled to protect/reflect the 'values' of his community read more

The store is fine, HOWEVER, the pharmacist who manages the pharmacy is terrible!! I've been diabetic for over 40 years and have dealt with many pharmacies. This pharmacy rarely has the basic diabetic supplies I need. It is rare for my common drugs to be ready when promised. More than not, there is a problem with something. The manager is flippant and unsympathetic. I get it....it is my problem. The last time I was in I had a sick grandchild at home but because the prescription was out of stock, he made me go to the back of the line.... Really!!! ### ??? A six year old with a 104 fever is not a priority! I am moving on!! read more

Visit this location on a weekly basis-- staff is always friendly (especially Margo). Has all the basic items you would typically find at a Albertsons Grocery. The Starbucks located inside is also consistent and is convenient for a quick caffeine boost while shopping. We in the nearby area appreciate it being there and open until midnight. read more

This location is fairly average. It will meet your grocery needs, but doesn't go above and beyond. It's a little smaller, a little older. Quaint is word. The layout is a kittle weird but you won't get lost in world foods section or anything. spoiler alert: there isn't much of one. I come here a fair amount because it's convenient if I need to pick something up while I'm at work or on my way home and it's nothing that warrants spending a small fortune on at the other specialty stores in the area. Meat section is fine, deli is fine, produce, all fine.. I'm not sure if I've ever taken note of their beer/wine section here. I'd probably have to be in dire straits to buy alcohol here considering the excellent selection just across the street. The folks in the pharmacy are fairly friendly. The prices are reasonable and I like their in-store promotions. They also have a decent-sized parking lot. There's also a Starbucks inside if by chance you missed the 4 other ones on this street. I have really tried to like this store, I've gone there on many occasions always leaving with NOTHING I came to get because they didn't have a single thing I wanted. I'm not sure how this is even possible, honestly, I really want to like this albertsons because it's close to where I live but I'll make an extra drive to new seasons or walgreens or anywhere else just to avoid this albertsons. I had a family member pick up my prescription from the pharmacy and they apparently asked her if the generic was okay and she apparently signed off that it was. She told me they didn't, they just asked if I had made any changes to my order and she said I don't know. She got the generic, I had tried this generic before and long story short I wasn't even going to attempt to take it. I called them and told them this wasn't gonna work for me, I had specifically told them to NEVER give this to me again and they apparently made a note of it on my file and I don't know why they would ask someone who obviously isn't the person taking the prescription if a generic would be okay, it should just be on file that it isn't. They just kept telling me she said it was okay and they would have my stuff in the next day but it wasn't in today. I had told them I specifically called in the refill days earlier so it would be in by the time I went to pick it up, like they had said I should do. So they just said I could come in the next day and get what I originally wanted and pay more because my insurance wouldn't cover it since it shows I already got it. This literally made me so mad that I had to pay for what I was supposed to get in the first place, it was their mistake, not mine. They then called back a half hour later and said I could get it for no charge, which made me feel a lot better, but I still have to go out of my way to go the next day to get it when I had planned on already having it. So if you want to go to a store and get anything specific, you probably won't even find what you want and end up going someplace else anyways, so don't even bother coming here. read more

I am currently in a battle with this store. I live directly behind Albertson's and they insist on receiving deliveries any time from 10 pm to 5 am that they choose. I wish this store would have some respect for the residents around them and follow Noise Level Restrictions and let me get some sleep! Deliveries and mechanical noise are prohibited from 8 pm to 7 am during the week, yet this store doesn't seem to care. We had ZERO noise problems when this store was Haggen's. I have called 4 times in the last week to ask for the store to keep it down and each time they act like they will do something about the noise, yet no problems are solved. I work multiple jobs, usually getting in bed by 9 pm, waking up at 5 am during the week but EVERY single night, I cannot get any sleep due to the noise of this store. Shame on you Albertson's. I would rather get in my car and drive to another store than shop at this one that obviously has no respect for anyone besides themselves. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Went into the bakery to get information about wedding cakes and no one wanted to help us. The first gentleman was friendly and told us to talk to the cake decorator. She was standing right there but would not talk to us at all. She said she couldn't give us any pricing or details and was busy doing something else. She could have at least taken our information to help us when she did figure out the details. HORRIBLE customer service skills. Will never be back to that store or any other Albertsons. Obviously she wasn't concerned with making a sale at all. read more
