Convenient, great assortment, kind and extremely hardworking owner, clean and well-kept, local store. Grateful it's around!

Very rude and unwelcoming cashier and also did not share with me that using a debit/credit card would cost me 50 to 80 cents extra.

There's so many photos of this place, you get the idea…read more A great addition to the neighborhood, and a destination if not close. Their wine bar is fantastic, and good-priced, and it was fun to watch the last of the World Cup here today. If you're looking for something special or hard to find, this is the place, much like the old Pastaworks was on Hawthorne. They really shine on their produce, pasta and fresh meats here, and there's always something new, but I love that you can count on the bakery for your focaccia and other fresh breads. Cheese case is like Rue Cler, Paris--so much selection and they will tell you about each one of them. Don't be afraid to just ask a lot of questions. I wish that they did some little items in the bakery, one of my fondest memories from childhood was going to Pastaworks with my dad and getting a breadstick, probably eating it before we even paid (we did), as we strolled around, and where's the peanut sauce for pasta, another favorite of the old days, yup, I'm old. Can't say enough good things about this place, it can add up though as others have mentioned, but, if you keep to a list or just slow the roll on the impulse buy, it's actually reasonable and you know you're getting what you're paying for. I've never regretted a purchase here or thought it unfair. I mean, it says Fine Foods right there in the name...:) Thank you for the amazing ingredients for dinner tonight, cheers!

Would be five stars if lady at the checkout showed some basic customer service instead of being passive aggressive and rude. And Revel meats calls itself a butcher counter but when asked to cut meat into portions they said they couldn't do that. I've received much better service from many grocery service meat counters around town

I watched someone in front of me buy just one rose, and they wrapped it beautifully. They even have a caviar fridge, and their packaging is honestly so cute. I'm a sucker for good packaging. There's a small bakery section, though I wish it were a bit bigger. They also have a very nice wine selection and aged balsamic options. Such a charming little spot with great attention to detail.

Not anymore! The "security guard" (large framed teen?) seems to take interest in following women around the store, while smiling and staring. It's uncomfortable and creepy. Apparently I'm not the only one noticing it either. Read the other reviews about people who have been harassed, profiled and kicked out of the store by security. They also take photos of people on their personal devices. This store completely benefits from being located in Portland's wealthiest area, yet leaves customers being profiled when they don't fit a certain image. If you don't want to spend your hard-earned money somewhere that leaves customers feeling judged or watched, skip zupans. I used to think highly of this establishment, but after witnessing this kind of behavior multiple times and reading about other customers' experiences, the whole place gives me the ick. I'll never go back.

They've got everything from fresh produce to pantry staples, plus all those quirky finds you didn't even know you needed. The best part? Their commitment to keeping prices fair is real--good food should be for everyone, and TJ's totally gets that. Iconic You have to try their orange chicken frozen dish. Crispy, flavorful, and mega convenient for when you're hungry but lazy. It's the kind of quick meal that hits different--basically a little chef magic straight from your freezer. Inclusive The staff here are seriously the nicest. Always helpful, always friendly. Plus, TJ's is all about inclusiveness and diversity, from how they hire to the way they engage with the Portland community. I spent several minutes waiting near the register for her to even acknowledge me while she giggled and gossiped with them. Finally, she asked me how I was doing, I responded 'oh I'm fine,' and she clearly wasn't listening to me (going back to talking to her other co workers on the next register) because she asked me yet AGAIN how I was doing in a more ruder tone. The bagger was also side tracked by the other co workers and didn't help me bag at all. Maybe split them apart next time. Annoying as hell.
