Huge refrigerator area

Not for me! Stopped here on Good Friday seeking fresh strawberries, blackberries and Angel Food cake to make a trifle. The strawberries looked bad and the tiny pack of blueberries was $2.99 and at that size, I would have needed 5 containers. To get near the produce was a challenge with boxes and boxes of unpacked produce lined up in all the aisles and tons of people pushing their carts - it was like being in rush hour traffic. Passed on all the items I needed, but since I was already there, decided to do a walk through the massive store. Once out of the "healthy" produce aisle I was pretty much on my own. Yes, this store is huge. And yes, they have lots and lots of groceries at lower prices, but they seem to cater to those who eat processed foods, chips, soda, candy and baked goods. Even their meat department had lots of processed meats (hot dogs, cold cuts.) their premade meals were heavy in fats and carbs. There was a fresh seafood cart over by the produce where an employee weighs out shrimp and other seafood, but frankly, I wasn't trusting it. The price of their canned items was same as Trader Joe's and I find it much easier to navigate Traders than to go to this massive store and have to walk down long aisles to grab pantry items. Checked out the bakery department but they didn't have an Angel Food cake. In the produce area they had Angel Food loaves, but they didn't look light and airy like Angel Food cake should be. Most of the bakery items were the jumbo muffins and calorie dense, high fat and sugar items. For those that prefer size over quality. Ended up buying an English cucumber for 99 cents, which would have been $2.99 elsewhere, and two limes. That's it! Thankfully I had a $5 bill tucked in my smartphone case as I never carry cash or a debit card. They only take cash or debit card. Every store has their demographics, the niche they target. Winco, especially this ginormous location, just doesn't work for me. I prefer to shop at smaller stores that have lots of healthy food items, and would rather go a few times a week to buy fresh rather than stock up on processed foods. And I don't carry cash!

It seems to be kept fairly neat - the bathroom does not need to be locked down which is a plus. I have also noticed it benefits being closer to Portland s you get a lot more of the local stuff that we do not get at the Beaverton one which is technically closer to me. This also seems to have one of the better bakery locations. For mobility, their motorized carts seem to be well maintained and there is always an ample supply fully charged and ready to go without hassle. I also really appreciate a lot of lanes open with great cashiers there to help you if you need it or leave you alone when you are doing ok by yourself. This store seems to have their sales figured out to as some locations I seriously take photos now since checking out of some stores feels like hostage negotiations arguing the prices of everything which is ridiculous and annoying. So I appreciate it when the sales reflect on it. Even better - I read the sign for Clearly Canadian wrong and was missing one to get the discount. He knew! He explained it and I said I wanted to get the third one for the huge discount and without missing a beat he offered to grab me one. I intend on doing my shopping at this location because the ones closer to me are managed horribly and making shopping there a mess.

What could this store improve?! How about the management. I spent 27 minutes at "Customer Service"…read moreand all I needed to do was exchange the Green Bags I had bought for new ones. The seams ripped completely on every bag of two boxes I'd purchased. Holy hell the manager walked by no less than 10 times and she didn't offer to help the one lady who was CLEARLY swamped. Nor did she call any backup for her. She just smiled and walked by. I mean REALLY?!?! This poor woman was swamped. And fielding a billion things. I had about 10 people in front of me and initially about 5-7 behind me. But those people just gave up and left. Absolutely AWFUL service by this manager. The woman was so flustered and just wanting to move quickly and not upset anyone. But that's also the job of the manager to make sure she has the help she needs.

For a Walmart, this is one of the better locations. Produce is typically fresh and priced well,…read morepantry items are definitely lower than grocery stores, and items are well stocked. While there, I always check out the clothing and Suprisingly, find cute in-season sweaters, jeans, jackets that look nice and are super j=cheap. Always buy my layering basics here like 100% cotton tanks, t-shirts and long sleeve t-shirts. The other day I bought two crochet cropped sweaters that look like Anthropology dupes. Often I spot a cute sweater or jeans on Instagram and order online for quick pick up at the store. They bring it out to your car making it incredibly convenient and one of my favorite reasons to buy online. Right now it's spring and I'm in the mood to plant some annuals for immediate pops of color. Their prim roses go for $1,99 at Walmart while Freddie's sells for $3,99. Same with pansies and violas; Definitely buy them here if you need several since the savings adds up.

First off, this is NOT my first horrible experience at this store. This is exactly why I usually…read morestick with Target--the customer service here is some of the worst I've ever experienced. Let's start with online pickup. The inventory is never accurate, which is why I place pickup orders before driving 30 minutes to this location. One of my items was marked unavailable... yet I walked in and found it instantly. I don't work here and barely shop here, so that's already a problem. Now the cherry on top. I NEVER get to shop without my toddler, but since this was for Easter, I had someone watch them so I could actually shop alone. While I was in-store--basically doing the job of the employees--I thought I'd treat myself and try something on. I waited about 5 minutes for help. An employee came up, told me it was closed, flipped the sign from open to closed, and said "too bad." I explained I live 30 minutes away and rarely get this chance. She told me to just buy it and return it, then claimed no one in the entire store had a key. So either she lied, or there's a serious security issue. Imagine a situation in a fitting room where someone needs help and no one can access it--that's unacceptable. I checked out with the item I had to find myself, then went to customer service to pick up the rest of my order. They told me I had to leave the store and drive to a pickup spot--even though I was already inside. When I asked again about the fitting room, another employee said they could have opened it... after I had already checked out. I was willing to overlook the pickup issue because things happen. But the way I was treated pushed it over the edge. This store needs serious management changes. I will not be coming back to this location. I'd rather drive farther than deal with this again.

On the way home from Lake Oswego i realized that if I was going to make some of my world famous (trust me) tuna salad, I am gonna need an onion. Now i could have driven down to Murray, but i decided to save a little gas. Turns out i balanced it by spending $2.50 on one onion. I'm not looking for sympathy. The grocery store was amazingly neat and dare I say aesthetically pleasing. Let's just say all the veggies look almost plastic they were so perfect. There were $10 organic mini watermelons and all kinds of fancy stuff. I strutted up to the register and handed the dude my order. "One Onion?" He asked..."that's right." I replied. Come on let's face it people. Groceries are expensive enough, and I need to feed my Focus too. I paid with cash and I am looking forward to the bounty of my purchase.
