The good about this store is the nice staff in the pharmacy, produce & meat depts. Unfortunately much of their goodwill gets washed away by certain checkers. Hannah is particularly unpleasant. Would it hurt her to actually smile or make simple conversation, say hello or how are you today? Often she never speaks at all. Today because I bought 2 cans of beer for my boyfriend, she did speak. She said, "I.D." That's it! Just I.D, nothing else....no hello, no thank you, nothing. I would think being polite, at the very least, would be part of her job description. Not shopping at a store that does not have handles on the bags. We are checking our own food bagging it and paying for the bags now they get the cheapest bags and no convenience to the customer for all the extra work we're taken away from them. I've gotten used to some Safeway shopping now that I cash in my Bottle Drop. And heck you CANNOT shun 20% more in rewards. I get some beer and wine always and pickup LOTS of vegan basics. I will say I'll NEVER fill another RX here though. The pharmacist legit ARGUED with me over "allergies" because I say Doxycycline and Sulfa as I vomit. She said "vomiting isn't an allergy" and that could prevent you from getting certain antibiotics. And I said in all the years I've listed them it's NEVER been an issue. She DUG in and again "if you leave them as allergies..." And I said I DON'T CARE. I DO NOT WANT TO REMOVE THEM. She then dug in farther and said it could be very inconvenient blah blah blah and I said NO. I do NOT want them removed. This woman KEPT arguing with me. I was honestly SO mad. This store would be a 5 star if it were not for this pharmacist. And I was already irritated as myself and TWO other customers waited for over 5 minutes while the pharmacist chit chatted with the woman ahead of me. We could all hear their conversation and it felt INCREDIBLY disrespectful of our time and of the other customers. The pharmacist here is 0 stars. But the store is 5. So I'll do a 3. This review is regarding their order pick up. I would have to say that ordering pick-up from their app is something everyone should try. I know some will say that the produce might not be as fresh as if I went to the store. I've been lucky and everything I order has been just fine. Their service people check and chat if there are things they can't fulfill. Driving to the store to pick up my groceries has been a wonderful experience. I've been a Safeway customer for decades. Tigard Barrows is the store I shop most regularly. My issue with this store is rude customer service. I use theJust4U app routinely. Today after I shopped I noticed my receipt didn't reflect the savings I'd downloaded. So I returned. I wasn't sure why and sought help from customer service. It wasn't busy. The Store Manager was irritable and acted extremely put out, raising his voice to point I asked him to stop yelling at me. I'm a 70 year old female senior professional woman, recently retired. I was upset and embarrassed nearly to tears. My phone no. had been mis-entered and savings around $10 not applied, so I asked if it could be corrected, showing him receipt items. He snapped at me saying he'd have to re-ring it, repeating this twice. He appeared quite put out about the inconvenience. It took a very short time to resolve, not warranting the disrespect I felt as a longstanding, loyal customer. He refunded me and I thanked him. He said nothing in return. What's happened to customer service? There have been a couple other concerning staff interactions at this store. Anyone can have a bad day, but this was the final straw. I'll travel to Beaverton Teal Safeway location from now on. Or switch to Fred Meyer. I never post negative reviews, but maybe it will do some good. Work on your customer service! read more

Audit your receipt because on more than one occasion the clipped deals didn't discount at the register and the shelf has not matched the price charged at the register. They'll correct it, but if you don't catch there then you have to drive back and no matter what the discrepancy it takes a lot of time to make it right. read more

This Albertsons is closest to where I'm currently living now. I must admit. I've always avoided Albertsons because I like fresh produce at a reasonable price. Why go somewhere more expensive when you can get better produce elsewhere cheaper? In my situation....it is convenience. Like I said, this Albertsons is close to where I'm currently living and probably wouldn't shop here if there was something closer. However, like some yelpers have been saying, I don't find the staff here particularly rude. They seem either nice, or indifferent. The selection here isn't the biggest....I wouldn't say it is a huge grocery store. What? I am beyond words. First time shopper this location. Geez, I thought Safeway had issues for being out of stock. I went in for French bread, zero on hand, you know the bakery type bread. We needed potatoes, just 2 bakers, zero on hand. Only had five pounds, the little tiny ones. Called home, said leave and shop elsewhere. No substitute allowed. I would have settled on sweet potatoes. Staples of milk, eggs, bread, potatoes should be a priority. My opinion. I'll go back again. I know they can do better. read more

Well, well, well, the phoenix rises! I didn't think I'd see it but a whole new attitude has swept over that grocery store. Different pricing, more attention to detail, more prepared offerings, more smiles and a happier shopping experience. I especially like the new fruit and fresh food offerings, your deli help is super, meat department friendly & helpful (as always). I love this Albertsons, I've been shopping here for the last 12 years. I do realize they can be short staffed and while it clearly bothers some people, those people probably haven't worked any retail or customer service jobs, it's one of the hardest jobs around. People are just jerks to the common customer service personnel! Besides being short staffed (due to management) these employees are the best and take very good care of their customers. The meat and produce departments are average, they're good. Not the best but not the worst. I usually go down the street for meat if it's a special occasion. Always feel welcome here! read more

If you like burned chicken and not getting what you order, this Albertsons is definitely for you. We went to get fried chicken, among other things, and my mother ordered 4 pieces, including a roast chicken breast, a fried breast, and 2 fried legs. When we were home, we found 2 pieces instead of 4, both roasted instead of fried, and neither correct. One was a thigh, which was not a huge deal since my dad likes those, but the other was a back piece. Hardly any meat at all was on the ribs and it was burned completely black. I have since tried to call the store but it rings for 30 minutes at a time with nobody answering. No way to leave a message or anything. We were all disappointed and disgusted by the product and the service, because obviously the person picking out the chicken (if you can even call it that) was not paying any modicum of attention, and just plain didn't care. read more

Be careful going here. Check your charges. I rarely get out of there without them over charging. The items on sale don't scan correctly. One time I was overcharged 35$...I still go there I just always check my receipt... Granted it is a pain having to find someone to make the correction . We are here often and we like the customer service. The employees are nice and they listen when you have any concerns. Wondering if self checkout is in this stores future? If not then a suggestion would be to ensure that the express lane remains the express lane, regardless of how busy the store is. We are understanding when things get busy, but don't be afraid to let your customers know it is still 15 items or less. Have been stuck behind a panic shopper one too many times, enough to bring about this review. If a person wants to hold up an entire store with a months worth of grocery shopping, I think it should be socially acceptable to inform that person they're being unnecessarily impatient and should go to another checkout. Especially during this outbreak, we should keep foot traffic flowing. That nonsense blocks up everything and is frustrating for those who only wish to buy a few items. I've lived close enough to walk to this Albertsons for the past 15 years (& yes, it was Albertson's & well managed when Monty was there. It was turned to Hagen's & tanked. And now it's an Albertson's again). This is the absolutely worst run grocery store - EVER!!! They yanked out all of the self-serve checkouts, apparently in an effort to insure you will wait in line for an hour. It's never properly staffed, and most people working there are wishing they are somewhere (anywhere) else... Take the 5 extra minutes & head down the street to New Seasons - it's run the way Albertson's used to be run under Monty. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

The associates here are so friendly. They never fail to remember frequent neighborhood customers by name. Reasonable prices, great selection, and my favorite items always in stock. They have a bottle return for those of us who like to make a quick buck off recycling used containers, and a pharmacy that takes insurance as payment. I went to Albertsons at 10 minutes until 11 p.m.to get a couple of items. They paged over the intercom that there were 6 minutes before closing and to bring your purchases to the front. I had to get two more items and I was trying to hurry. I was approached by an employee who told me they were closed and to take my purchases to the checkout. He also told me I couldn't use a card because they had already closed out the machines. This wasn't good for me because I had purchases to make using WIC. I was going to get the other items anyway, but the guy at the register was so rude to me that I stood there in utter disbelief and felt completely disrespected. My boyfriend then brought a couple more things to the register to add to my stuff and the cashier became even more pissed and continued to say things under his breath and throw things around. From a customer service standpoint, I feel this was the absolute worst I have ever received...in my life... He wanted to go home, had been there ALL DAY... and I was making his day just that much worse by delaying his freedom from his job that he obviously hates. I told him I've never received worse service in my life, and he told me to leave the f'ing store. I stood there not knowing if I should pay for the items, and I really needed them, and then realized how pissed I was at the way he was treating me and told him what he could do with the groceries and left the store madder than I've ever been. Alright if I could rate this 0 stars I would but I can't... I've shopped at this store for a while and didn't really think much of it. But last night I was in there with some friends and they bought something and as I was walking out one of the managers accused me of stealing something. Of course my first reaction was "what are you talking about?" But then her kept going on and on about how he saw me steal something. So eventually I told him to search me to see if I had something on me, and he wouldn't do that. He just told me to get the **** out of the store. I've shopped here for 15 years. It's my neighborhood store, and it always seems to have what we need, whether it's fresh produce or dog food. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Lots of great ready to eat prepped foods when you are short on time....and dare I say, their fresh made guacamole is practically as good as my own. Store is clean & inviting, the Starbucks is nice too when I want a treat. I have just shopped here for so long that I am willing to pay a bit more rather than drive to dumpy Winco to save a few bucks. Albys does have good sales though, just watch the ads. They will put their fresh chicken on sale for under $2 a pound at least once a month, so I stock up. Only downside is the organic foods section...we like organic tortilla chips and their selection here is small and overpriced ($5 or more a bag) Whole foods has the chips 2.99 every day. read more

I was in the store a couple weeks ago while they were doing "Founder's Week" to commemorate Albertsons' anniversary, and some of the things I heard on the intercom (from who I later found out was the STORE DIRECTOR, Monte) were uncalled for. He started yelling at one of the BBQ workers asking where he was and things like "I'm your boss, get out here". This was over the *intercom*. Not only was it completely unprofessional, but the store employees were visibly embarrassed and just as incredulous as I was. I expressed my frustration to a friend of mine that is also a frequent shopper and this wasn't the first time something like this has happened as she has had similar experiences. After spending almost $200 in their store on a Sunday and ordering a cake for next day pick up for my husband's birthday they would not allow him to pick it up with my check. I understand policy, but it was his birthday. It seems like anywhere with a shred of humanity would have called to verify the check and pushed it through.
