Pharmacy~ The cashier that waited on me was rude and very impatient. After giving her all my personal information she says "I only see one what's the other one and, we may have or not have the one you need have a seat"! Well I never got a chance to even to tell her what I was there for. I didn't seat down because the seats and, everywhere in the store floors are dirty. Walgreens please do better with training your staff on customer service and keeping a clean establishment. I would highly think twice before using this location. read more

Pharmacy. I usually go to CVS on NE 33rd because I have had such a miserable time with Walgreens on Cesar Chavez. Sadly, CVS couldn't fill my prescription and so I sent it to Walgreens. They have not filled it in days, I went to talk to them with no help, and now I have had have been waiting on hold for 45minutes claiming there is "one caller ahead of me" for 45 minutes?! 5 stars purely for the pharmacists- I go often to pick up my medications and they are always incredibly helpful and kind. I wish I remembered their name, but a pharmacist the other night on the phone helped me problem solve an issue with a medication I was having. I'm not totally sure how Walgreens is staying in business. It seems like they are terrified of theft, understaffed and overstocked in their stores, and have giant buildings with large parking lots - but an entry door that lets one person through at a time, so heaven forbid someone is exiting with their cart while you're trying to walk in. They do have some good promotions for printing. Their "same-day" guarantee cannot be trusted, but banner or poster printing can get expensive and they have some great coupon codes at times to make it slightly better. They do have a pharmacy, but I've never used it. And of course, they also have shelves upon shelves of health and wellness products. read more

Just horrible pharmacy. I don't think I've had a prescription filled correctly within 1 week in at last 4 years. Routinely incorrect status listed online, not notified of changes or delays or when filled by text. Most recently received one out of four bottles of insulin on prescription after a 10 day wait, then the rest of the order was canceled for no apparent reason. Generally have to visit this pharmacy twice to pick up a single prescription. read more

As opposed to my local Walgreens on Holgate, this store seems to have issues. I occasionally stop in here after a stint at the Belmont library to pick up a soda for the trip home and inevitably have to wait in line for several minutes. No, not just a couple...this last Sunday I waited for almost 15 minutes. Oh, and the Necco wafers I considered purchasing were $2.29 each? This Walmart is definitely in a sketchy location but I've come here a few times when I needed to print photos directly from my smartphone and the location closer to me was having issues. The people working have always been helpful, letting me borrow a data charger, which I appreciate. I've never used the pharmacy so can't speak to that. I've picked up vitamins, shampoo, nail polish and other items while I'm there. Plenty of parking outside but I always park close to the door as there is usually one or more people outside begging for money. read more

I've never seen so many inexpensive items people need for daily use under lock and key as at this Walgreens. It's really depressing and sad actually in a fairly prosperous neighborhood. thought about buying a pair of tweezers. They were $4.99 under lock and key forget about it. It was too depressing to ask the security guard to unlock the tweezers I would rather not shop where every minor cheap item people need in daily life is under lock and key and you would have to move from thing to thing getting someone to unlock it. My wife and I went into the Walgreens on southeast Cesar Estrada Chavez boulevard to purchase some items that offered their Walgreens Rewards Cash and had hoped to do it in two transactions. Upon checkout, my wife had asked Robin, the sales associate at the cash register how she was doing and she simply replied with one word - "Good." You would expect that to be a question the team member ask but this was not the case which I typically understand as I started my career in retail. From there, my wife had some difficulties using Andriod Pay which we use whenever possible, so we asked Robin if they offer it. She replied with an attitude something along the lines of "you lifted it up too fast." At the end of the first transaction, we had asked her how we would get the $5 Walgreens Rewards Cash so we could use it for the second transaction. She then replied, again with an attitude, something along the lines of "your email since you selected digital email." My wife and I moved to the side so she could continue helping other customers while we checked our email and Walgreens mobile app. After a few minutes, we asked Robin for help and you guessed it, said with an attitude something along the lines of "check your spam." Having nothing but an attitude from Robin, we went to the shift lead, who told us that we do not need an email for the Walgreens Rewards Cash and we could apply it once we enter our phone number. Fast forward a bit, after spending a few minutes, probably a total of 20 minutes since we first interacted with Robin, the shift lead found out that we had to purchase the same products in order to get the promotion. Fed up with the whole interaction, we asked for a refund from our first and only transaction. On our way out, Robin said "the transaction was confusing anyways." Although my wife and I did not read the fine print that identical products must be purchased, there was also a mistake made by Robin when she said it would be emailed - therefore, I would not have expected her last words to us be defending herself - at least out loud where we could clearly hear it. While I admit the fault of not having read the fine details, there is obviously some training in providing proper customer service as I will heavily consider stepping foot inside that store again. read more

Go somewhere else if at all possible. This is the WORST pharmacy I have ever had to deal with. Constantly losing our prescription, or claiming their warehouse doesn't have it. How long is a person supposed to wait for something that is obviously needed? Last instance which we are STILL dealing with. They called to say it was in. Drove over to get and they lost it. Can't find it. Then act like we are the ones who have the issue. So they say they will call in and reorder. Fast forward 4 days...we call back to ask. Oh...we forgot to reorder. This Walgreen's royally sucks. I am only giving two stars because they were able to get a medication for me that my regular, small pharmacy could not. However, it was quite the ordeal. I called on a Friday and was told my prescription would be ready by 230 pm. I couldn't make it in and came in on Saturday at 1130 am. I was dealing with a horrible pharmacy tech named Angel who seemed like she would rather die than be working at this pharmacy. With her dead eyes and totally robotic voice, she told me, "Oh, I see it in the system, it's not ready." I said, "well they told me it would be ready by yesterday afternoon." In a very insincere tone, she said, "Oh, I'm sorry." She then went over to the pharmacist, came back, and said, "it will be ready in a minute." I went and sat down. A minute or two later, Angel trodded off on a break, snacks in hand. There was one poor guy left frantically trying to help customers are they started to line up. I waited about 15-20 minutes and no one ever addressed me. Finally, I had a notification on my phone that my prescription was ready. I had to wait again behind a few people and by then, Angel was back. I said, I got a notification, it must be ready. She again disappeared, came back with my medication, and said, "Oh, it looks like this was ready a while ago, I'm sorry." I seriously wanted to start screaming and read her the riot act, but didn't. What the hell? Is she just playing head games with people? Needless to say, I have transferred the prescription to another store and will never go to Walgreen's again. read more

The pharmacy at this Walgreens is a disgrace and the pharmacy employees should be ashamed of themselves. The pharmacy employees do not answer their phones. I once spent over an hour on hold where one or more employees kept picking up the phone and immediately putting it on hold again. I eventually had to hang up, drive to the pharmacy, wait in line for 20 minutes, and ask my question in person. I have routinely had to wait at least 20 minutes in line here regardless of whether I am inside or in the drive through line. The Walgreens app and website for this pharmacy do not work. On more than one occasion, the app/website has told me that I have prescriptions ready to be picked up, to find that they are not ready when I get to the pharmacy (after waiting for 20+ minutes in their super fun line). I have had the app/website tell me that they do not have prescriptions in the system for me that, when I go in person, they tell me they do actually have. I have had the app/website tell me that prescriptions are not ready for me but when I eventually contact the pharmacy to find out what's going on, am informed that those prescriptions have been ready to be picked up for days. The text and email notification service does not work for this location. I have spoken to both pharmacy employees and corporate Walgreens tech support people and never have they been able to get text or email notifications to work for me for this location. Before I moved to Portland I used a variety of Walgreens pharmacies in CA for 12 years and never once had a problem with text or email notifications until I started using this location. This pharmacy once filled a prescription for me, and when I went to pick it up, told me they had never filled it. They then tried to give it to me three months later when I was trying to pick up a different prescription. It was expired by that time. I finally got fed up with the unbelievable incompetence of this place and changed pharmacies a few months ago. Last week my new pharmacy wasn't able to fill something for me, so I foolishly told them to transfer it here. Today I went in person to see what was happening with it (see above about not being able to reliably communicate with employees here any other way) and was told they had never received it and it wasn't in their system and would have to be resent. I called my new pharmacy and had them send it to CVS. Shortly thereafter CVS called me and told me that this Walgreens location had already billed my insurance for this prescription that they had told me they had never received, so then I had to deal with that mess. I strongly recommend that you DO NOT use this pharmacy. read more

Worst customer service ever. The older lady with Long gray hair is one of the rudest people I have encountered in a long time who seems to believe none of it is her fault. Would not print a receipt for me and would not go get a manager to fix the problem. Was extremely rude when I approach the photo counter to pick up my photo prints, and I will be sure to never visit this wall greens again. I have dealt with this woman about a year ago while trying to get passport photos and it was a less than pleasant experience then as well. Over a year later and she still works there and displays a less than satisfactory attitude towards customers. Most Walgeens are terrible, and this location certainly proves that generalization true. It's dirty and low-stocked. There are never enough cashiers or other employees working, and the few lost, ghoulish souls who are working are not competent at the most basic duties of the job. Whenever you go, whatever you're buying, you *will* be stuck in a line of four people that doesn't move for five to ten minutes while the clerk struggles to complete the most basic task. If you politely inquire if there might be someone else who might come help, you will be rudely, brusquely told to just wait. It's true at the pharmacy too. And the photo center is just an abyss of confusion and despair. If you can possibly go to any other store, take care of yourself and go to that other store! read more

I've been waiting for a long time to give them the benefit of the doubt and not give a poor review. But every single time I don't unit 4 review, I'm greeted with another for experience. With this is your Pharmacy, you can expect to have long waits to speak to a pharmacist, if the call ever goes through, expect to have to call back many times, expect me to go to pick up your prescription and find that they aren't all filled, or that none of them are. Hard to really rate this place, yes I am a regular here because it is close by... but that is about the the only reason. You can spend hours here, just waiting in the pharmacy line. I think the convienece of a 24 hour pharmacy is great but when it's understaffed the convenience isn't worth it. They have decent prices on their Walgreens brand medicine but you now need their card for any of the special prices (kind of like the Safeway club card). So when your in need of a quick pharmacy and your in the neighborhood.... they are open 24 hours. read more

Truly the rudest, most incompetent pharmacist imaginable. Tonight the staff literally closed the door in my husband's face while he was trying to pick up a prescription, saying they were closing and that he'd have to come back in the morning after he had sat there waiting for half an hour. This was due to an error they made, when they didn't check their faxed prescriptions for over an hour, leading them to decide they "didn't have enough time" to fill my prescription before they went home for the night when they finally checked the fax machine after my husband had been standing there for 30 minutes. If you are on this yelp page, SPARE YOURSELF. Do not send your prescriptions here. And please, God, Walgreens fire that awful pharmacist woman. She's clearly a corrupt, incompetent, soulless person who shouldn't be in charge of anyone's medical care. read more

Terrible pharmacy experience. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Literally every prescription I've ever attempted to fill (over the last 5 years), has had some sort of hold-up. They'll send an email saying what the problem is, but always says the wrong thing (like "insurance hold up" when really it's that the doctor hasn't called back). I always have to call to follow up, and it's impossible to call without being put on hold for at least 10 minutes. I never get my prescriptions in a timely matter. It is ALWAYS a frustrating, time-suck. The rest of the store blows, too. Shelves are frequently empty. read more

I stopped here randomly looking for a certain lipgloss. I had picked up at another Walgreens but lost it that same day! Go figure! Any who I go straight to the cosmetic section to look when I run into a nice lady! She asked "Can I help you find anything"? I said "Actually yes I am looking for this glitter gloss"! She says do you know the name of it" So I start thinking since I had just got it I think it's called "Brillant"! Then she tells me "You look around and see if you can find it and I'll search the database for it". Wow how nice was that she definitely did not have to do that or even offer to help me find anything! I was delighted and excited! So happy but unfortunately they didn't carry that brand at that Walgreens. I have to go back to the one I found it at! After she came back to let me know we chatted it up about how there just should be way more glitter glosses out there! Haha I was like I know other girls love glitter. Lol I wish I had gotten her name but she was happy and helpful. I had a great experience even though I did not find what I was looking for. I enjoyed my conversation! I don't typically write reviews but when I do.....you're worth it! Have you ever felt like you need to apologize while giving someone your business?? Just go to this pharmacy at 1:25 to get a prescription filled! (Apparently they close 1:30-2 for lunch) They will non verbally kick your a$$... no punches either...I was ok to come pick up after lunch. Counter staff was rude, rushed and somehow nothing moved fast. I was misquoted on my medication by over $75. So glad I asked why it was so expensive for an antibiotic. This is the first Walgreens in Oregon! I think it was 1996 or 1997. Kinda stands out, cause I worked there, when this store opened! The store? Your basic Walgreens, except it's larger and has a little broader stock, a few more choices sometimes. The 24/7 hour thing is their other big plus, they are always there. As a store, Walgreens is best at having a cool, very accurate selection, so you can count on them to have what you're lookin' for most times. Not the cheapest, but generally Walgreens is pretty good retail. read more

Five stars for a chain drug store? Before you think I am nuts or have lost my mind, this location is HUGE. LARGE. I want to say that this location has been here since at least the late 1990's, but by far is not dirty or run down in any way. They are always well stocked on all of your basic needs and have a great selection of everything. This location is neat and clean, as are its restrooms. Right around the corner from where my brother lives (and where I stayed on a recent visit), this well lit store has a large parking lot and access to the Tri-Met buses. There seems to be a lot of bad reviews against the actually pharmacy part of this Walgreens. I can't speak to that. I came in to buy candy to sneak into movie theatres. Walgreens has the absolute best prices for this activity, so I always get it from them. It was a quick experience. There debut card readers aren't very intuitive and froze a bit during my transaction, but no big deal. My interaction with staff was brief but got the point across. I'll definitely come back for all my chocolate buying needs. read more

I made a drive-thru appt for a Covid Test for 3:45pm. The email instructed me to arrive 5 minutes early. The line was LONG and each car ahead of me took at least 10 minutes. An enormous, empty, trash-strewn parking lot, security shutters that never open, a chaotic, dirty interior--all that's missing is martial law. On 8/6/2019, I had an issue with my normal by-mail prescription provider , so I requested that they forward my prescriptions to this Walgreens to be filled. I went to the store around 11 AM and was told that they do indeed have the transfer, but they have not filled it yet. They told me to come back later in the afternoon. This is totally understandable, no problems at all but I did explain that I was out of the medication, so this was quite urgent. I come back later in the afternoon and a new clerk helped me. She wasn't able to find my info right away, but that is okay, she was new to the situation. She asked the pharmacist about what was happening, and the pharmacist said it wasn't ready yet. The clerk said it would be ready in 30 minutes. However, I had to leave and could not wait the stated time. As such, I told the clerk I would be back later in the evening or first thing tomorrow. I returned around 7 PM. Another clerk helped me this time, and again could not find me in the system. She went to ask the pharmacist what was up. She spoke loud enough to her clerk that I could overhear her saying, "is this the guy from earlier, he said he wasn't coming back today, I don't know what to tell him, I can't do it today." Hold the phone. I never said that I would not return the same day. I said "later tonight or first thing tomorrow". I understand the clerk may have misinformed the pharmacist, but she placed the blame squarely upon me. And loudly. And without any hint of empathy. I am not normally a stickler for customer service, I don't need "service with a smile" or any amount of fake enthusiasm. However, I am a stickler for competency. And I am a stickler for owning ones mistakes. I told the pharmacist to shred my transfer requests, and I will take my business elsewhere. She rolled her eyes and said, "fine". The people who work here, especially in the pharmacy, need to realize they are working with the health of their clients. Very negative things can happen when people miss their pills, the health of the customer can be very adversely impacted. If they can't handle that responsibility, if they can't own up to their mistakes and ensure that solutions are provided, then they should find a new line of work. Something where the health and safety of their clients is not in their hands. All they had to do was say, "I am sorry, there may have been a miscommunication, but we do not have the prescription filled. I will do this first thing, and if you can spare 5-10 minutes we will get it filled. Again, I apologize but will make it right!". Instead, she blamed the patient/customer and acted as if she had no responsibility in her job. I am just one customer out of millions so I doubt Walgreens, either this particular store or the international conglomerate, really care. But I care, and as such will no longer use this company in any way. read more
