We have shopping here for years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We like the variety of items they carry and the prices. If buying food or toiletries/medicine we always save a significant amount versus going to a grocery store. $5 for a lifetime membership is well worth it. read more

My neighbor store; a place I visit near daily. The manager there; though he OBVIOUSLY recognizes me, still insists we go through the process of checking my ID at the store entrance every time I enter (I don't carry a purse or large wallet and thus don't carry my member card). I get that it's a membership Store, but I wish the manager there understood how incredibly dehumanizing and alienating it is being treated as an anonymous consumer rather than a community member. I LOVE Bi-Mart!! They have just about everything you need and a wide variety of many items for your home and beyond. Very understaffed in sporting goods! Customer service has gone out the door, staff is too busy to be friendly. Computers seem to always be the problem, they are the primary excuse for back log of customers to be processed or helped. Have tried to order online and pick up at store to make things easier, first they couldn't find my order, then they didn't believe that it was prepaid. After long and arduous process, they finally discovered that they were wrong! One facetious apology, was made to feel like it was my fault? Completely TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! read more

we shop at our molalla bi mart constantly. I am the card holder but they never ask to see it so my husband doesn't worry about it. My husband just purchased two batteries for his truck in this location and they ended up being the wrong size. Both workers he encountered were incredibly rude and weren't helpful. The greeter met my husbands eyes as he came in but when he came back in to return the batteries this creep went as far as to accuse him of "sneaking" into the store. Demanding to see the bi mart that I carry (I'm home) and my husbands I.d. He got his money back because they did not have the correct batteries, but it was a struggle even with the receipt. Second worker he directly asked him if he had the right batteries, guy said the book is the only thing that can help you and the book is what told him the wrong size originally. when he told the guy this his response was along the lines of that's your only option. I can't stand disrespectful, rude workers. we def won't be shopping here again. it's easy to be kind and helpful and not interrogate your customers or treat them like thieves. read more

Anyone else smell a dirty rat? All right, so I came into here three times. The first two times, I entered no problemo. Not that I'm a huge fan, and this was my first 'Bi-Mart' experience, if ye will. The first two times I was in here, I made purchases without a 'card.' Today, when I arrived, I walked right up to the gate to go through and was literally barred from entry? WTF?! I look to the left and a female states, "did you bring your card?" "um, what card?" "Your Bi-Mart card!" She proceeds to explain to me, really, really fast that it's $5 USD - "for the rest of your life." The catch: You must provide to Bi-Mart your state-issued photo ID? Hm.... Thanks, but no thanks! Why on EARTH would you need my ID for me to make purchases at your store? How do you even know I am a US Citizen, and not simply a traveler, etc.? What a waste of a breath exchange, when I could, say, be breathing! Anyhow, I go in, make a quick return and JET out. Never to be seen again. Still, what are you doing with all those people's driver's license numbers? When I left the female worker at the 'service' counter was literally greeting people by first name, and then also asking for people to show her their 'Bi-Mart' card! Holy smokes! There's a little hillbilly in the middle of every city, and Bi-Mart just so happens to be the haven that your quirky Uncle Earl resorts to for his Bud and snus when he's in town. And it makes him feel special because he gets to flash his $5 green (or yellow, if you're a lady) lifetime membership card to get in. Okay, okay, maybe I'm being a little severe. BUT it's not like I have absolutely no evidence to support my claim. You can buy guns and bullets at Bi-Mart! They're located near the children's game section. Today I got some bullets there (don't ask), and I saw a young pregnant woman checking out the rifles. I felt a little weird going in asking for some 45 ACPs, but no one even cocked a brow. Do I look like someone who goes shooting regularly? And then there's an age requirement to purchase them, and the nice middle-aged woman wearing the obligatory blue vest at the checkout simple overrode the age thing. Asked me if I wanted a bag. That was that. I think the "camping" section also has a fake buck hanging from the ceiling next to the inflatable raft. Very nice! But if the outdoors aren't your thing, be sure to check out the selection of hair dyes (often on coupon), adult underwear lining, peach-flavored wine, and the bargain bin (which often contains broken candy bars and used or half-spilled nail polishes in weird colors). If you go on Tuesday, check to see if you have a "Lucky Number," and won a $10 coffee pot. So, does this store really fit into the hippie/trendy Woodstock neighborhood? Not really. But it's kind of fun to go and unleash your inner 'billy every once in a while.... read more

What can't you find at Bi-Mart? Perhaps haute couture ball gowns? Mmmm definitely not! However, rain gear and camoflauge and other hunting gear? Bingo! I was first introduced to this very interesting store back in the early 1980s when my dad participated in trap shooting and bird hunting on a friend's ranch in Eastern Oregon. He made his own shells which saved a lot of money. His friend's dachshund served as their really excellent bird dog, but that's a story for another day. A few weeks ago, Ron wanted to stop and pick up some bottled water on sale. I honestly haven't been in any Bi-Mart store since at least 1985, and really very little has changed, and I wasn't sure if I was time traveling or not. It's as spotless as ever and the staff members as gracious and helpful as ever even when I knocked over some stacked-up plastic garbage cans; in fact, they insisted I not pick them up. I imagine they were afraid I'd knock something breakable over (sometimes my Lucille Ball tendencies come to the fore in stores). Their parking lot is large, in excellent shape, and well lit. Prices are outstanding. Definitely go and shop there if you're in need of their supplies (spring really is here and they have an abundance of gardening products). You can visit once, but next time you'll need their membership card for the grand whopping price of $5. Now where did I park my Delorean? read more

First off, go and read all the other reviews here about Bi-Mart as most say it true and most say it well. I don't even really need to add my two cents, but wanted to anyway. I always say to my friends "I don't think Bi-Mart is going to be in business in 10-20 years." :-/ Prices at the store are very fair if you can deal with the hours, clientele and the curious product mixture. I tend to pick up great deals on local Oregon/Washington microbrewed beers at Bi-Mart. They also can take bottle returns and count by hand if you're like me and hate the machines most grocers use. If you need a perfect idea of what a store is laid out like and what they carry (they are ALL the same), go to the Bi-Mart website and visit the "departments" link under store information. They are my go to for inexpensive automotive and camping supplies. If you ever want cash back when paying with debit, you can get it but they cap it at $10, like a 7-Eleven (WTF?). read more

I've been a member for five years. Once they switched their pharmacy over to Walgreens, they informed me of the transaction the night before. Then, Bi-Mart sent me a notice two days afterward, giving me the wrong address for Walgreens: 2280 E. Main Street instead of (the correct address of) 2280 W. Main Street. I walked two miles the wrong way. I'm not a fisher, hunter, or gardener like Claude Monet. I went there for sketching supplies, I could find elsewhere. They sold good coffee. Imagine my surprise to learn Bi-Mart knew in August, and I learned in late October. And Bi-Mart gave me erroneous directions. read more

I have been to Bi-Mart before in the past and back then, it was $25 to join. I was already a member of Costco so it just didn't make sense to join another place. Call me cheap. Then I had a roommate that was a member, so it still didn't make sense to join. Flash forward 5 more years, and I needed to buy a battery for my car. Wow, what a savings. Again, a friend took me to get it so no need for a membership. Last week, my roommate needed a car battery, so I suggested Bi-Mart. While he was looking, I perused the dog food and found they carry my dog food at a much cheaper price. My roommate decided to join so now I have my own card. I'm very surprised at how much they have there and at how inexpensive you can get it, plus, they have weekly drawings for free things. Costco sure doesn't have that! I'm in agreement that the store is dated and feels like my childhood, but that keeps the "other" people away. read more

Talk about being WRONG. This place is fantastic. Srsly, I have been here weekly for a long time. Not sure why I figured it out later? But anyway, I noticed my bad review and it is time to change that. Stat. I think I just did not notice all the gems here??Maybe they started having more Goods I appreciated?? I have bought a blow up boat for the Umpqua river for $35 that was fun for my family. Cans of Veggie Chili for a buck. This is the best place to grab a bag off Chicken Food too. Not the Boutique joints trying to get $20 a bag for boutique chicken food.. but your basic Portland Layer food for $12 and change. Only place I buy it now. Great place to get a bucket with fun toys to take with the kids to the beach. Buy some Fruit of The Looms underwear. Get some work jeans.. Just damn Handy. Why did I have trouble with it? Imagine Wal-Mart but without the People of Wal-Mart. Imagine Costco but with a $5 lifetime membership. Imagine the 80's. And imagine a department store that has a mix of these three attrubutes that also sells guns. BOOM! You have Bi-Mart. This place is a total relic, but it still seems to be going strong. You can find food, housewares, camping supplies, hardware, personal care products, beer/wine, sporting goods, gardening supplies, small appliances and so much more here. Considering the $5 lifetime membership but a little afraid to just take the plunge? They'll let you shop once for free just to see how awesome the deals are. Of course you do get what you pay for here. Some of the goods are fairly cheap, but Bi-Mart stocks plenty of high quality brands, many without the premium you'll pay at those bougie dens of consumerism like Costco. Also you don't have to buy a year's supply of anything here. The sizes are more manageable. Third, pretty much every Bi-Mart location is pretty dated. It's like you stepped into the 80's small-town department store when you walk in. But the upside is that the prices are like the 80's too. Seriously, drop the pretense and check this place out. I felt like it was 1981 and my grandpa was taking us to his favorite store for an ice cream, fishing lures, milk, a new shirt, a sprinkler head, a spare tire, nail polish remover and develop some film. One of the coolest retro facts about this particular Bi-Mart is the rock faced walls around three sides of the building. How 1960's is that? Nice. This used to be the location of Safeway when I was in grade school (70's) and the current Woodstock Safeway was the local variety store which was named Disco Mart, I kid you not. Bi-Mart used to be very proud of their "members only" marketing gimmick but they're not as picky about it these days. I like Bi-Mart because of the variety of items they sell. You can buy (some) grocery items, milk, cigs (we don't but you might), garden plants and tools, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, laundry supplies, housewares, area rugs, camping/hunting/fishing supplies, cat food, mid-level electronics, hardware, paint, greeting cards, candy, and their own brand of men's denim jeans for $9.99 per pair. All that in one store, and then some. It's local and that's good. They play upbeat 50s/60s Golden Oldies on their soundsystem, and that's fun. The staff are (mostly) mid-age which translates to (mostly) helpful and polite, something I truly appreciate, and that's become so rare in our current hurry-it-up, know-it-all era. A Northwest tradition, employee owned and operated. Good for them and for us. P.S. After reading other reviews I'd like to add that it's not just 'old people' or 'low rent' folks that shop here, and, while the building has certainly been on Woodstock Blvd. for 40+ years (see my note about Safeway above), Bi-Mart has not. read more

Best pharmacists in town. Drew and team go out of their way to remember patients by name. It's like a neighborhood pharmacy "back in the day". That said, I'm always surprised by what they have in that little store. Surprisingly good prices on power tools (even better than internet prices in many occasions) home goods, and non-perishable foods. It's where I get all my fishing gear, and it's good for camping/outdoor supplies. If they don't have it, you don't need it. BiMart is a unique store, and in the days of ordering most things on-line, it's cool to be able to walk down the street and still get what you need. We're glad to have it in our neighborhood. read more

For those of you who have NOT been to BIMART let me ask you to sit down and get ready for this bit of reality: It's not fancy. (gasp) Yes, that's right... It's pretty much a carbon copy of a variety store you might find in Eastern Oregon where tumbleweeds roll through the parking lot kissed by clouds of hot dry sand. You need a gun? You need a new car battery? You need a new BBQ? You need to paint your house? You need to get 15 bags of soil? You need fireworks for the 4th of July? You need to can 10 lbs. of pickles? I could go on folks but BIMART is off the hook for this kind of stuff. I know that many of the prices suck - but - they have so many specials on things that are a big deal that it makes it a fantastic place to find great deals. Examples: My large propane smoker was $40 less than anywhere else. I get bags of wood chips for the smoker for 50% less than I can buy them elsewhere. I got tire chains there for $50 less than any other store. So the moral of the story is this... You see the outside of the store and it looks unimpressive. It's NOT FANCY. What it is though is a place where you can find great deals, helpful employees, and funky stuff. read more

I purchased a lifetime membership to Bi-Mart for my girlfriend and I this past weekend. I must say the service was exceptional, the prices were very reasonable, and our overall experience at the Woodstock Bi-Mart was fantastic. Bi-Mart has the perfect combination of merchandise in stock; Borax, dog food, floor mats, cast iron pans, clothes hangers, union suits! What more could two girls ask for! This place is disgusting and dare I say racist. Today my Caucasian white male boyfriend went in twice for paint and was never asked for his bimart card. After he ran out the second time he asked me to go get another can of paint and I was stopped and told I can't go in without the card. I am Hispanic. The lady behind me was not a white Caucasian American either and she was not let in. My white Caucasian friends don't get asked for this ridiculously stupid 5 dollar card but my family and I get stopped and not let in when we don't have the card. It's just hilarious. You would rather lose money from a frequent customer that you see every other day and this lady KNEW exactly who I was and she decided to wait till I came in alone to not let me in the store. Great store. Kinda like Freddies but smaller. Good deals. Like most stores, look for sales in the paper. I like it for the camping supplies. Just about everything i need for supplies but less crowds and close to my house. It was nice to be asked if i needed help. Friendly staff. I will not be returning here until after the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak is under control. They are taking some measures (tape on the floor, barriers and signs at registers), but I saw multiple employees here with face shields instead of masks. Smaller particles flow around face shields more easily and those smaller particles are the ones that remain airborne longer. read more

It only takes one little hole to sink the entire raft. Unfortunately one guy here is the little hole of this Bimart. I asked an employee who was stocking shelves if anybody specific works in the BBQ area. And rudely he asks, "what do you need?" I said, " I have a question about one of the BBQ grills but I want to show you which one." He replies,"yeah. But what do you need ?" All the while with a bothered look on his face. They just don't make stores like Bi-Mart anymore. And really, now that I think about it, haven't for the past 30 years. This place is definitely a relic and knowing it's there, makes me think of Woodstock as a particularly quaint, nostalgic part of Portland. They're employee-owned, local and that's why I shop there. The prices, as other reviewers have already stated are pretty much the same as you'd pay elsewhere but they do have awesome specials and so many things that you need all in one place. Another thing I like about Bi-Mart is that even though it's a relatively large building, it's not ginormous like Walmart & Costco. It's back from the street, tucked into an understated strip mall area and there's plenty of parking. They offer a wide variety of herbs and vegetable/flowering plants and the prices for these items are excellent. The last time I checked, they had around a dozen different kinds of tomato plants. As far as the guns thing, I never noticed they sold them here but I'm from Texas where they sell guns everywhere. ;) Another reason we shop here is that we have an espresso business where we use Melita No. 6 cone filters for our drip coffee. This is the ONLY PLACE IN TOWN that has them apparently. Freddie's used to but doesn't carry them anymore. And as a girlie girl, I appreciate their amazing selection of the very underrated Wet n' Wild cosmetics line, especially the .99 lipsticks and nail polishes. They also have random good stuff like Giradelli semi-sweet chocolate chips, chain saws, Febreeze, Tom's of Maine toothpaste, fishing tackle, good paint, home espresso machines, soft toilet paper, Dr. Scholl's gel inserts, travel sizes, rice milk and basketballs. On the other hand, they're not very enlightened when it comes to environmentally-conscious products. They have lots of Round-Up crap unfortunately. But the over-55 mostly female staff are all super friendly, real and will tell you if you left your lights on. They also all seem to know you even if you've only shopped there a couple of times. They also play great 50-60's rock n' roll and anytime I can hum along to Buddy Holly while shopping, then I guess that makes me pretty happy. read more

During all of these restrictions to fight the virus, I have to take exception with your temporary policy of not allowing people to bring their own bags in to the store. No one in the store could tell me how many times the BiMart required bags had been touched before it was touched by the clerk checking me out. Whereas, I could tell them exactly how many times my bags had been touched: ONE, by me. I offered to bag my own purchased items, but that wasn't allowed. I had to take a contaminated bag to my car and in to my home. The clerk came across as very rude. Sad. read more

The first time I drove by, I thought it was Rite-Aid, the second time I thought, it's all old people (which is kind of true) and the third time I had a nasty reaction to something in the garden, so I didn't care what it was, I jus t went straight to the pharmacy to fill a prescription. At Bi-Mart, I have found really decent things at really good prices. They get props for being completely locally owned and operated, and their employees "own" (never really 100% sure about this one) their stores. So, it's better than Rite Aid et al. I was generous with the stars because they have good prices, and their selection is diverse. They do not however, have a good selection of natural products, so I do end up getting my Seventh Generation and recycled home things at Trader Joe's and Fred Meyer's. But, for a corner drug store it's pretty darn handy, and I can't stress enough about being local. Give it a whirl, maybe you'll end up winning their Tuesday raffle. read more

Clothes, canning supplies, DVD's, some food, guns, ammo, you can buy fishing licenses here, inflatable kayaks, fishing poles, gardening supplies, plants, household appliances, etc. The prices are reasonable and the staff is usually friendly older ladies. read more
