Went to Nordstrom Rack to look around. I found 3 attractive shirts, good quality and a good price. Was very happy with my purchase.

My husband and I went to Nordstrom rack during the Labor Day weekend. We had to return an item as well as we shopped in their new fall selections. We got in line and my husband took a picture of our original receipt before we did the return for details on the garments that we purchased. A man in line behind us said something to my husband about why aren't you moving (in the line) and my husband turned around and said I'm taking a a picture and calm down we'll move in a second. The gentleman said oh sorry I didn't know. Well little did we know that a sales associate behind the counter that saw the interaction from a different perspective, thought that we were being rude to the gentleman behind us. So lo and behold we get up to her counter and she cops an attitude from the get go. My husband, who is the nicest person in the world, tries to make conversation with her at which point she turns to us and says I thought you were rude to the gentleman behind you. Mind you the whole time, she is giving us attitude and throwing our garments on the counter. That is when I stepped in and said oh no Liz, you don't get to say that. So here's the reason for my review. As a sales person I get it. You get good and bad customers. By all means Liz, talk to your coworkers after we leave if you think we were that rude to the gentleman behind us. The gentleman and myself and my husband had moved on from the incident, but you decided to make a bigger issue out of it. That is not customer service! That is rude on your end. Your job is to help the customer. Whatever you think of the customer in that setting, you keep it to yourself. Share with your coworkers after we leave. Share with your family when you get home from a long day. But do not tell the customer that they were rude when you did not read the situation correctly! At this point, it will be a very long time before I step back into a Nordstrom rack. read more

Not a great experience due to a pricing issue. The under garment was marked down to $4.87 with a black pen, however, it rang up as regular price. Then the guy said that markdowns are not marked off by pen. Then I told him that there were 2 of the same things marked the same way. I went to the shelf and showed him the other 2 items with the same pricing. He consulted with his coworker and decided to call the store manager. The manager said no and it would still need to be at regular price. I've never had this happen. Usually when there is a price difference and you find others with the same price, they honor the marked price. It was an unpleasant experience and probably need to revamp their policies to honor prices that are marked, especially if there are others with the same markdown price! read more

I remember when Nordstrom was the epitome of customer service, even was mentionedin my business class 25 years ago. Those days are long gone!!! Had 1 pair of shoes left and they were online for $15 cheaper, but wouldn't give me that price in the store. I get it, the color was slightly different, but only one color was listed online. Everything was fine until we got in the checkout line. They have both men and women's fragrance displays in the waiting line and the smell was very strong. I unfortunately have a sensitivity to fragrances and was choking and had to leave our purchases for my husband to buy while I went outside so I could breathe. If he hadn't been there I would have had to abandon the items. I know I'm not the only one with this issue. read more

My favorite store hands down everyone is always cool and great conversation I've found countless rare watches and knives at this store as well as flat screen TV's at very competitive prices. As with all Nordstrom Rack stores, the floor footprint and the way they organize clothing makes it a chore to find anything. It's like a big warehouse floor with circular racks everywhere and some random method that consumers aren't privy to, only those who work there. Typically I venture in for accessories only. Walk in the front door and to the right they have lots of designer bags - Kate Spade, Rebecca Minkoff, Cavello, Michael Kors - plus scarves, hats, belts and jewelry. At least in this area it's easy to find things and they have a decent selection. Today I was able to find a beautiful black scarf with silver studs, giving it a modern edge. Perfect Christmas gift for a hard to please friend. I'm at Clackamas Promenade frequently but rarely stop in NR because of the layout. I just don't have the energy. They are taking precautions with Covid, limiting the number of people inside which often means a line outside which is understandable. Masks, hand sanitizer, asking people to social distance. I like Nordstrom rack never had issues yet but my two only biggest concern is the dressing room is dirty extremely dusty not like dust but cloud chunky dust that hasn't been cleaned vacuumed in months, the cleaning should be done daily not sweeping but vacuumed and moping after. I avoid using the dressing rooms I buy things then I will bring it back and return because I avoid using dressing rooms. And another dumb thing they changed was that you need a pin code for the restrooms. Seriously this is so horrible last time I was in the hurry to the restroom and it was locked I don't know the code but I could not walk to find a worker to open the bathroom door, please change something about this situation. Some stores have a ring bell and they press a button for the restrooms. I understand it to prevent shoplifting but it's not fair for people that have emergency situation. After this changes I will come back and add 3 stars. I want to do 5 stars but they need a good cleaning and dusting and also in cosmetics area on the shelves I got something from the top shelves and whole bunch of dust flew on me. Come on you sell expensive stuff so make it look clean and expensive. read more

Be prepared to wait in line at checkout for at least 25 minutes when you visit. This Nordstrom Rack has been my go-to for a long time, but the wait time at checkout has only gotten worse. No matter what time of day you go, they will be understaffed up front. Today was my final straw as the line continued to build up while two employees were struggling with their individual customers. It took a woman complaining loudly for them to ask for back up. At this point, I had been waiting for 20 minutes to do a simple return. Normally I don't condone that type of rude behavior because I understand it gets busy, but in this case, it helped as the employees finally asked for extra help. Additionally, when finally helped, the employee seemed rude and unapologetic for the long wait. Be prepared to waste your day waiting in line if you go. read more

Today I was shocked to see that Nordstrom Rack would not take back product that was past 30 days and they sometimes make exceptions of 60 days but 69 days was too many. Now the manager a young lady who clearly didn't like nor want to be at her job, rudely tells me their policy and then states that because Nordstrom Rack is a discounted store for Nordstrom product they had a different set of rules even though it's the same company. I tries to explain that the pants were horrible as you couldn't iron the wrinkles out of the pants, the bottom hem folded upward and the pants stretched out to the point where you had to keep tightening your belt. I mentioned I did not want money back but just wanted to buy something different that wasn't this type of pant. Again the manger walks away and the stunned lady that was initially helping me just stood there a bit shocked and apologized. I said oh it's not you and no apology necessary from her but I'm never buying another item from this store brand. I know one person won't make a huge diff but I hope nobody else has to have this interaction at Clackamas Nordstrom Rack that I experienced today. I'm rarely one to leave a review, but this was hands down the most uncomfortable experience I've had at a department store. I went to try on a few things Saturday afternoon when I heard someone walking pretty quickly up and down the hall. I was right in the middle of changing out of a dress when someone started pounding on my door. I told them the stall was occupied, when they yelled "is there a shirt in there!!" At this point I was terrified, these doors don't lock and I have no clothes on. "Nope!! No shirt!" The person talks to someone else farther down and huffs "well is there ANYTHING in there?" I told them there was one blazer and they proceeded to knock again and ask me to hand it out, all before I even had time to put my clothes back on. I don't know if this was a worker, or if this was a customer who the worker standing 10 feet away gave permission to. Either way, this was an incredibly violating experience & I will no longer recommend this store as I used to. read more

Zero stars Let's be clear, this is not Nordstrom. It is filthy. The floors are dirty and there is residue and holes from previous displays everywhere. This matters because people bring their families shopping and yes, small children walk very close to the floor. The employees are condescending and their return policy gets worse every year. In 2022, the return policy was 45 days. It is now 30 days. Don't try to return anything older, they will make a huge scene and chastise you for daring to try. read more

I came here today to make a return and it was tough to see where to go. True to its name, this store has a lot of clothing racks and it can be hard to see past them. The good thing is that once I found the right place to go to, my return was processed quickly. In general, I like shopping at Nordstrom Racj for accessories, make up and lingerie stuff like bras and pajamas. I wish they had more plus sized items in the store though. As far as Covid precautions go, the cash registers now have plexiglas dividers and the staff were all wearing masks. read more

Pleasant trip to the mall on a busy Saturday. Came here with some friends to look for shoes but no luck there. Browsed their sale racks for their anniversary sale and scored two blouses for work. Yes! The line was a bit long but it went by fairly fast. Check out was fine and we were in and outta there. They only have gift card envelopes while you're in the line but not at the check out stations. Bummed that there wasn't any staff around wearing green to Check us out and the line kept building up. Again it was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. Do they not have that option anymore? The design layout of the check out is much better than previous and I've had good experiences with their returns. I'll keep coming back here for some retail therapy. :) read more

Very bad experience with the store manager at Clackamas Town Center a few years ago. It was so traumatic that I will never return or shop there again. I did shop there frequently until that visit. I went to return or exchange a leather coat, that I had bought there the day before. I really loved the coat and the fit was perfect, but when I got it home I discovered a small rip by the pocket. I had the Visa receipt from my purchase. The manager told me since I did not use my Nordstrom card I could not exchange or return it. He was very arrogant, rude and abrasive. He was young, early 20's I believe. He actually accused me of damaging the coat myself. Prior to this I had never had any problems with Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack. He yelled at me, told me I needed to leave, it was insane. I had the receipt from the day before and I can't remember ever returning anything prior to that. I believe I paid around $175 for the coat. He was so aggressive and I was just shaking. I told him that I had not expected this to be a problem and I did not want the jacket. He said I could not leave it there and he would not take it back and he threatened to call the police. I told him that would be great and that I would definitely like to discuss this with them. A simple matter of trying to return a jacket, purchased the day before, with the receipt. My daughter just wanted to leave this horrible situation, and although I wanted to resolve it I agreed. I put the jacket and my receipt on the counter and he yelled at me telling me I could not leave it there. I told him I could do whatever I wanted with "my jacket" that I purchased and I threw it on the counter, knowing that I would NEVER shop there or give them my business again!!! I began walking out of the store as he tried to stop me, yelling at me the entire time, trying to intimidate me. I was hoping police would show up, but I'm sure they were never called. I told him if he touched me I would file assault charges. It was the most terrifying and uncalled for situation I have ever experienced. I just left the coat there, needless to say I wanted nothing to do with it, and I wanted no reminders left around. My only regret is that I just didn't donate the $175 to charity instead of buying a jacket for myself. I can't believe this person was ever hired by Nordstrom and hopefully he was reported by the other employees. I it hard to imagine that this was the only incident with him, and I find it hard to believe he could last another day. I have had several family members and friends work for Nordstroms ( some still do) and I know that Nordstroms has always taken pride in quality and customer service. I shopped at Nordstroms for years in Seattle, Anchorage and Portland, as well as other locations when traveling. Very sad that this horrible person was hired and was representing Nordstrom at that time. I sincerely hope since then, that he was terminated from working for Nordstroms in any capacity. Certainly a regrettable mistake on the part of Nordstroms and one that did a lot of damage to the Nordstrom reputation. Unfortunately, this experience is not something I can ever forget. read more

I was shopping at this store and when I got all the stuff that I needed, I went to the cashier to pay, her name is April and she was an amazing cashier because even though she's new, she made sure that I was happy with her service and that's what you call excellent customer service. And not only that, her supervisor, her name is Alicia, actually took over for April who was supposed to go on break. I mean, where do you find a supervisor like that who will take over just for her staff to take a break. I never had a supervisor like that. The staff here are phenomenal. And I can tell that the supervisor is also a Blazers fan like me because she has a tattoo of the Blazers logo behind her ear. I highly recommend this place. read more

Nordstrom Rack is an absolute god send for those of us who are looking for quality attire for inexpensive prices. Similar to Filene's basement or a less flashy version of NYC's Century 21, this store is synonymous with good deals. Like all heavily discounted stores, the place can get crowded during peak hours, the clothing / shoes are in piles, and sometimes the store looks like a pigsty. As a result, sometimes the associates on the floor may have trouble locating specific items. Hence, its a free for all for customers to find their hidden treasures. Examples of this would be finding a Diane Von Furstenberg dress for less than $100, and plenty of old school Pumas and Nikes for as little as $20 a pair. One of the biggest draws for me is their vast selection of size 13 and 14 shoes. For those of us with larger feet, this is the perfect place to shop. read more

Probably the best thing in the Clackamas Promenade, across the street from the Clackamas Town Center. Between this place and the Woodburn outlets, I am able to buy at least 85% of what I wear. For clothing and shoes, the Nordstrom Rack has some good bargains to be found. Sometimes, they are outright steals. I usually go here for casual sportswear, a variety of shoes, and the occasional suit. I once bought a name brand low-key window pane type wool gray suit for $169! It fetched compliments, too. It doesn't get 5 stars because it's like Costco - the selection is limited. Their sportswear has gotten more garish, shoes are hit and miss, and it can be a zoo, with long lines which cross half the store on busy weekends, but move fast enough. I find that the best buys here are suits, jackets, and complementary apparel, whereas at the Men's Wearhouse, in the same center, a salesperson will tend to follow you around, trying to accessorize you. That doesn't work for me. Ha - I haven't set food inside a REAL Nordstrom in at least a decade. read more

Well, here I am reviewing a clothing store, wtf self. You see I'm not fashionable in the sense that I usually dress thinking "I sure hope am not making major fashion faux paus". I was raised with four brothers you see, so after my mother got tired of dressing me like a barbie doll, I was on my own for fashion choices. Oy. Anyway, I'd never been to drawn to NR because I am also an epic cheapskate regarding clothes. Seriously, $30 is about all I can take. Last time I stepped into a Nordstrom's proper I almost feinted from the prices and irritated my friends by pointing out all the absurdity of prices "WHY IS THIS T-SHIRT $35!? IT IS A T-SHIRT. HOW MUCH FOR THOSE JEANS?!?!?!?!" But Groupon, my beloved Groupon, you sucked me in here with your offer. And I figured maybe I outta grow up and buy slightly more pricey jeans that actually last me a bit. So I checked out all 3 locations - Beaverton, Downtown and here. While the Beaverton store is bigger, I couldn't find my size. The downtown store well...I may be suffering from PTSD from that debacle. So I went here last night in one last attempt. Hallelujah! I have finally found a pair of straight leg, well fitting jeans that were not jeggings (another WTF trend). While this is probably the smallest store, I can still find what I need quickly. BUT - this is what I came to write the review about - the checkout speed. Once I was done with my lil' celebration of finally finding jeans - my heart dropped when I saw the line of 30+ people. But you know what? The line moved swiftly and though I was expecting to be greeted with a surly, overworked cashier nearing the end of their day, there was no such thing. Not only was my cashier super friendly, I could hear all the other ones too and no one showed one sign of crankiness. THUS, I love this store. read more

We all know the Clackamas "Promenade" is really just a bunch of stores across the street from the mall, so don't think you are going anywhere fancy. This Nordstrom's rack is ok. It's as disorganized and messy as the rest. It does have some cool bits, like a pet section, purses, and the shoes are plentiful. Be aware that it doesn't have petite or plus sizes, so unless you are very average sized you aren't going to find anything here that will fit you. You have to go to downtown Portland for petite sizes and Beaverton for plus sizes. If you are looking for shoes or a purse, come here. If you have to go to Target or the mall, you can traipse to the Rack for a quick look. If you are looking for something to wear and you aren't a size 8, forget it. read more

Not a great Nordstrom Rack in my opinion. I stopped in with the hopes of finding a few steals without having to pay sales tax. I was hoping in my heart of hearts that I would be able to locate more Armani or Versace gear as I have been able to with great success at the Bellevue location. I wasn't even close to that kind of treasure here. After a good hour of searching high and low, all I was able to locate in my size was a Juicy Couture tee. BUYERS BEWARE! On July 7th I purchased two pairs of shoes. On July 25th, I attempted to return the shoes, one of which killed my feet. I never wore them outside of my bedroom, as I was trying to figure out if these shoes worked for me.They have a newer policy where you need to have sales price stickers on the shoes, not worn and sales receipt. I don't shop enough there to know how strict they were on this. I just figured they could look up my account and it would show I purchased on my Nordstrom card. Shopping that day, I was in a hurry and not knowing the policy picked up a pair of shoes that didn't have stickers on it. Since I am assuming that shoes are new and not worn, I didn't think to look at the bottoms of the shoe, or make sure they have stickers. I just figure they are new! I showed up to return the shoes. 1. They told me no sales price stickers, no luck. If this is the policy, why did the clerk sell these to me without stickers? 2. They told me I had worn them...not. But someone did, just not me. Why would i think to check this when I bought? It was not apparent on trying them on, and I'm not shopping at Goodwill. I just figure the product is new. 3. They said i didn't have my receipt, and said there was no record on my account, and even if they could find it, it would not list the SKU numbers, etc... HOWEVER, I did not have a problem when I called customer service. Customer service promptly gave me all information, including every bit of information about what I had purchased. The other issue for me is they treated me like I was pulling something on them. Nothing worse than someone pegging you as a criminal. Manager just smiled sweetly as she told me to basically take a hike. Much of the merchandise at The Rack looks like it's from Goodwill. The prices on discount racks are extremely high for years old merchandise that is so beat up it should be at Goodwill. I did not think to check the quality (New/Used) on the racks, but YOU SHOULD! In summary, I think they returned a worn pair of shoes and put them on the rack w/ no sticker. Now they want me to pay 100.00 for a pair of shoes I can't wear. TAKE A HIKE NORDSTOM RACK! read more

If there was 0 stat, that's what I would have given them, or I should say "her". Specifically for Kayla S. who has THE WORST customer service. When I was called to go to her register, she was already grumpy. I said "Hi, how are you?" She replied "need a bag?" sounding mad. Asked me "phone number for the reward?" So I said "yes, 50..." then she replied "don't tell me, punch in on the screen". So I was waiting but the screen never showed so I told her "screen isn't showing for the phone number", then she said "ugh. You probably didn't push cancel? Ugh". I mean...really? This whole time she had bad attitude. I didn't do anything to her. I actually was friendly. When transaction was done, she put the receipt on the items I purchased, pushed them and said "here!" . I was pretty shocked with the whole thing. Then what shocked me even more. She was 100x nicer to the next customer. I truly don't understand what caused her to do all that to me. But really makes me to think she just doesn't like people with color? I don't know. Can't assume but that's what I felt like especially person behind me wasn't colored person. Can't assume, and it's a sensitive subject now a days. But maybe Nordstrom should be careful who to hire knowing, yes, it is a sensitive matter, so hire someone who can serve/act professionally. read more

Is it just me, or does the name "Nordstrom Rack" sound like a designer torture device? Depending on what you're looking for and when you go, shopping at Nordstrom Rack can be either as torturous as being strapped to a machine and having your joints slowly dislocated, or it can be an enjoyable treasure hunt adventure that's fun for the whole family. This Nordstrom Rack usually serves up the latter, but sometimes it can tend toward the former. In general, the men's section of this Rack is pretty well organized, and decently well-stocked. As opposed to the downtown location, the stacks here are not nearly as chaotic, rifled through, or disorganized. During the midday hours, there are usually few other dudes shopping in this section, so it's pretty easy to navigate the aisles. The dressing room is only attended about 70% of the time. Otherwise, I have no complaints about the service. On the down-side, the daytime hours are when the elbow-happy housewife/stay-at-home-mom/unemployed/whatever contingent comes out to play. Ruthless, hungry for name-brand clothing at closeout prices, rude as fuck and with nothing better to do, these ladies swarm like piranha. Sometimes they enter the mens section of the store (obviously shopping for the husband/boyfriend/kids). This is when my shopping experience goes down-hill, fast. They rifle through piles leaving a wake of unfolded clothing with sizes and brands all mixed in a disarray of designer denim. They have no problem shoving into a rack right next to you and sometimes even just pushing in front of you. On occasion, only my sheer will-power has kept me out of jail and left these lovely people alive. I'm not sure how a 35% discount can bring this out in humanity, but it does. I digress. My mission is to get in, shop the brands/sizes I like, and get out. When customers screw up the pretty decent organization that this store has going on (which is much better than most Rack locations), it makes my shopping experience so much harder. Add in some rude shoving, and it gets annoying. I don't have hours to kill, and I don't give a shit if you do. GTFO of my way. Weekends here are a nightmare. Whole families (the driven, ruthless wife, the disinterested other half, and the annoyed kids) clog this place and bring the above-mentioned chaos. I avoid. The slowness of the check-out staff during the midday hours can be a tad frustrating as well, and almost has me dropping this to a 3-star review. But they're friendly enough, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. So... bling-encrusted torture device, or discount clothing store? I guess it's all about the attitude you take in and the amount of zen you can find for yourself amongst the rows hangars while someone is trying to beat you to the best hidden deal on the nearby rounder. I've been a Nordstrom cardholder forever and have frequented this NR. Lately the customer service has been going downhill and it doesn't seem like they have any senior staff. Waited for approx. 25 mins while they found someone who supposedly knew how to return a Haute Look purchase. Luckily when he decided to help me, I was able to train him how to do the return. You're never going to catch me shelling out $200 for a pair of jeans. Unless they are magical jeans that grant me endless wishes, lifelong prosperity and the promise that I'll always, always look gorgeous wearing them...Never. Gonna. Happen. But will I try them on? Oh, yeah, of course. The problem with shopping at places that have fancy brands and occasionally-experimental styles is the sales staff. Even though I deal with sales reps on a regular basis professionally, I can't -- on a personal level -- handle overbearing salespeople. Or pretty much overbearing any-kind of people. I have been known to walk briskly out of an establishment upon merely sensing a sales approach. I am getting a little bit upset just thinking about it right now. So the Rack. It has all of the brands you wondered about when overhearing the 20somethings' conversations at work, or when cruising those fashion blogs, or when idly flipping through those magazines at your gay best friend's house... but you don't have to interact with anyone. You can caress the fabrics all you want, you can imagine any combination of terrycloth onesie and blue satin high heel, without anyone breathing down your neck or asking if they can start a room for you and is everything OK can I help you (help you, help you)???? You can try on every whim at your leisure, and sometimes even find some whims you can't live without, because (oh right!) you can probably actually afford things. I can't even talk about the 5 sets of shortalls in my wardrobe that started as a joke. But I can talk about how much I love the Nordstrom Rack. And I will. And I did. read more

I hate this store for so many reasons: 1. Staff isn't friendly 2. Store is crammed with stuff and you can never find anything 3. There is so much merchandise on the floor (everywhere!!!) that it's just feels dirty!!! 4. The pricing isn't much of a difference from the regular store - especially if you get something on sale at the Mall! All hail to Nordy Rack! Every Spring I can go in and find the latest straw, big, floppy hat to wear while chilling poolside, along with a pair stylish heels....because that's what I do. Old school glamour. Kidding aside, Nordy Rack is awesome. Every day a boat load of the discarded stuff from the Mother Store is delivered, and if you are lucky you can catch the really good stuff before the grabby-prying hands of office workers, who by the way, get special notice when there are specific deals. I know because I used to work in the ODS Tower where the Rack is housed and every 3-4 months notices would come from building management of what the lovely lads & ladies of The Rack had going on especially for us. Anywho, if you can afford a $250 blouse, or $400 to die for pumps, then go right ahead with your bad @ss. However, for the rest of us who are rubbing pennies together to make 10 cents, The Rack is the place to go. I'm really impressed by the plus-sized clothing, mostly dresses, that are available, and of course the shoe section is great too. It is worth going in there more than once a week to check out what they have on hand because you'll never know what you will find. read more
