I really love these stores. They are truly the ideal spot to get jut about anyone the perfect gift... that someone might be yourself! I will definitely suggest dropping in if you need inspiration for any holiday or season. I usually drop into the Washington Square location and just happened to be here. I definitely did not leave empty handed. Today was about accessories. I found the cutest pair of black socks with white flowers on them which is so me! I am big into wearing black and white and these are so unique! I also grabbed some amazing incense, some candy and I have started collecting clear glass bottles. I could not resist one for $1.99. That is the thing... their prices are so incredible for very quality things. I find great hair accessories, bath products, snacks, home décor... just wander around... you will find lots of things. The cashier also hooked me up with more discounts and a coupon. It is great that they actually care. I really appreciate that as a customer. But, pro tip is finding inspiration. It feels really shitty when you have hard earned money, and you are an eager shopper yet you are a brown woman who raises the alarms to be followed and closely monitored as two shop employees so happen to start stocking items right next to you as you shop. Although I came in looking for something very specific , the store kind of dictated what I bought and I walked back home with a bag full of things I didn't need in the first place . Lol This particular location is small compared to other world Markets but there is a little bit of everything . Whether you're looking for artisanal ceramics, exotic spices or a fun little snack you're likely to find something that piques your interest. While the prices at World Market are generally affordable, the quality of the products can vary. Went into the Clackamas Oregon store for some tea and food items we usually buy here, as well as looking for any interesting items to consider. Tea and food items discontinued. The few items we did buy were pretty spendy relative to where we could have bought them elsewhere. Store has obviously been re-merchandized - even the check out, which use to be multiple counters, now forces you to go through one line which is stacked on both sides by the typical junk food and other items your would never go there to buy, but the MBA's and AI algorithms are hoping you will impulse buy as you wait in the long common line to get to the one counter with multiple registers. In our case the counter had one check-out person on the register. Retailers wonder why Amazon is eating their lunch????? How about chains like World Market with higher prices, fewer selections, and less service. Congrats World Market, hope to never shop there again. read more

But it's for the grocery selection why I go. They have Chinotto, a bitter orange Italian soft drink. Was out in Clackamas running errands since all of Multomah County is still in lockdown due to the Panndemic. Cost Plus World Markets is one of those stores that I cannot drive by with out walking in. Even if I don't need anything specific, it's worth browsing the aisles to check out and marvel at the vast and varied inventory. I'm a total foodie and a cook, who also enjoys food playing and presentation, so between the helpful cooking tools and gadget section, the dishes and serving pieces, plus the huge pantry section, I never walk out empty handed! Ever. They also have lots of outdoor furniture, colorful and vibrant pillows in solids and Soho patterns, outdoor dishes, glasses and servingware so you can take your entertaining outside in the warm weather. Mid century modern is my style and they have several displays of faux succulents and plants, vessels, planters on wooden stands, macrame hangers and wall decor to add those details to your home that really take it up a notch. Lots of bath items, as well as lotions, hand creams, soaps, candles plus the decorative containers to display them in. There are shelves and shelves of baskets, fir all your storage needs. Scarfs, earrings, wraps, art canvases, and home decor pieces, furniture and small occasional tables that have an ethnic vibe are everywhere. They even have a small but varied area with has unique lighting options. They have an impressive wine collection with prices that are super competitive. What is most impressive is the huge collection of soda and seltzers from all over the world. My favorite being the Bundaberg Ginger beer which is great for Moscow mules or on its own if you don't drink alcohol. And the lemon Italian soda. They have seasonal displays of specialty foods. At Christmas, it's a must visit for special treats and stocking stuffers. There are lots of quirky items too, like bikini clad men to mark your beverage glass! It's a fun store to browse especially after being in lock down for three months! If the store provided items related to Hanukkah I could give it a full 5 stars! They have an amazing assortment of Christmas related items & a large selection of food related items from almost all countries around the world. Greatly disappointed they did not have any items, whether food or decorations relative to those who celebrate Hanukkah. If they say they are a "world" market then it would be more fitting if they expanded to include more celebrations rather than just one isolated theme. Store is always clean & well manicured. Ohhh my! I am such a fan of this store. I love their furniture section or their dishes but honestly my favorite part of the store is the imported foods! They are so magical, and reminiscent. They have everything from European chocolate croissants to ramen noodles to Sri racha chili sauce. Who, by the way, is having a national shortage right now and I have not been able to find it anywhere, including at Cost Plus. Cost Plus World Market is my go-to when making Easter baskets, buying stationary, and everything in between. You can easily spend an hour here. This place is a gold mine.... ** Chocolate coins for the kids' stockings ** Coffee (illy as well as a ton of choices from around the world) ** Beer - seasonal gift packs ** Wine - always fabulous deals ** Ornaments and holiday decor - an absolute steal after Christmas ** Teacher gifts - I can put together fun holiday packs with a mix of edible treats and fun items without breaking the bank. They are also one of the few places that stock my favorite chocolate in the world, Perugina. Staff at this location is great, lines move quickly and it is the type of place where I have a ball wandering the aisles and finding something new at each visit. I do love this store as an infrequent place to shop as they have such a nice variety of items from across the world. The beer/cider/soft drink selection is amazing and varied as well. They have seasonal sales where you can mix and match different brands for a pretty good price. The furniture selection is eclectic and cool - being of different styles but seemingly all of high quality. Any housewares you can think of you can probably find here. This place has a really cool selection of gifts, decor, food, and wine from different countries. But. It's expensive and sometimes not the best quality either, for what you are paying. And they aren't so great at serving customers consistently. I have stood in line behind 15 other people for quite a long time waiting to check out. I love World Market, but today I drove a long distance to buy something I was assured was in stock yesterday, to be told rudely, not once but four times by different employees that this product wasn't in stock. They were quite unpleasant. I usually shop at the Mill Plain store, in Vancouver, or will drive down to Clackamas Town Centre, I will never shop at the Tigard/ Washington Square store again. There are very few chain stores that I like more than World Market. You can get great things for pretty great prices. They also import all kinds of food goods - my favorite being the Lepkucken during xmas (ginger-like cookie from Germany). They have good chocolate, and they also have some decent wine selections. In a nutshell, this store is fairly on par with the other Cost Plus World Markets that I have visited. The exception here is that the wine steward is really, really nice, and also knowledgeable. He's one of those kind of guys that doesn't talk down to you. He's does NOT acts like he's the coolest guy in town just because he knows a thing or two about wine. Those characteristics are sometimes hard to come by when it comes to buying wine. So, if you're looking for a bottle of wine for dinner tonight, head on over to World Market, and you'll be fixed-up in a jiffy! read more

Normally I endeavor to avoid chans, but Cost Plus World Market has been a sturdy go-to spot for things like dishes, furniture (our dining table), and various sundry household items. The items they stock tend to have an international flair, and while some of it is el-cheapo, there are plenty of great finds here. Our dining room table, some shelves, and some of our flatware comes from here. Simple but good stuff. If you know your wines well you can find some decent weekday sippers here for solid prices. There's plenty of chaff in the wine selection too, though, so shop with a keen eye. This location is definitely in Clackamas, but it's close to the freeway and parking us much easier than the downtown location. Since I live on the east side, it's more convenient for me too. read more

This is my first vist, so I am giving only 3 stars. Im impressed with all of the spices and condiments. They are half as expensive as Safeway. Many bargains in the food isles. The furniture is at the same level as Pier 1, but not as much. My kids enjoyed looking at the candy. My family will be back because of the assortment of candy. The beer prices are about as competitive as grocery stores. Good experience. read more

There isn't too many things I'd buy at this place. Ten to fifteen years ago it used to be a great store, but it has changed so much that I hardly go anymore. Cost Plus Market is my favorite place to get gifts, wines/beers, unique snacks, foreign groceries, and housewares. The prices are pretty reasonable as well. They have stuff that would appeal to all your friends and family members. Toys for your nieces and nephews, ethnic jewelry for your traveling aunt, new comfy pillows for grandma and grandpa, a nice gift basket full of her favorite teas and mugs for your mom, wine for the boss, plate sets or cooking utensils for the housewarming, and even candles for random people on your list. Plus I always find something for myself. This is also a great place to find a spice or snack that you missed while you lived or traveled in another country. Popular ethnic foods are here! Despite things feeling cheap inside, I still like this place. Especially their selection of foreign candies and food. Their prices are reasonable, if not on the cheaper side as well -- so you won't break the bank shopping here. They also have weird knick-knack items throughout the store, not found anywhere else. I feel the staff in this store goes above and beyond what is customary in retail customer service. They are helpful and courteous, a rare find these days. The store itself is always in excellent condition. Recently a manager helped me track down some chairs at other locations and had them put on hold for me and secured the sale price for me with the other managers as well. I must add the manager in the Vancouver store where one of the chairs was, was equally as helpful, assisting me in unpacking and getting the bulky chairs into my car on a freezing, windy afternoon which was a feat of magic. I pretty much stick to food items, but I have purchased some dinnerware and some other household goods and the quality has been good. I am not a huge fan of shopping, but it is a fun store to wander around in and check out all the different products that are offered. The prices are good and I seem to get a few decent coupons from time to time, so that is always a plus. read more

The staff really bent over backwards to look up promotion details and to locate a piece of furniture I had seen online. I know that's their job, but they were great about it and didn't get pushy for me to buy anything. Lacey especially went out of her way to make us happy. In general, World Market has been a good place to pick up items that are difficult to find elsewhere, and we go perhaps once every 2-3 months to do just that. My latest experience was a bit odd, though. The wife noticed a shelf that had a number of Halloween related items on it and a few signs saying 40% off all Halloween decor. She chose 2 masks and when I went to the register, they did not come up at 40% off, so I mentioned it to the cashier. She immediately called the store assistant manager, who came quickly and verified that they were not discounted. I was mystified because of the sign at the display... I completed my transaction and immediately went BACK to the display, where I read the signs that stated very clearly "40% off all Halloween items in this section." I called the asst mgr over and asked her if the masks were in this section (they were) and she said...and I quote "I guess they could technically be in this section." So I asked why they were not marked down. She said that they masks were not Halloween items. I told her that if that were the case, they shouldn't be there and she told me that she was going to move them. She could see that I was a bit miffed and finally offered me the 40% discount. You better believe I wanted the discount. Overall, this little bitch was so pissy with me, I wanted to slap her. So I ask you kindly readers......if masks are in a Halloween section at Halloween time, aren't they Halloween items? read more

First off, I love world market items. However at this particular location customer service is seriously lacking. Today I purchased a decorative upholstered living room chair. I asked a man working if he had a measuring tape I could borrow because there was a chair I wanted to purchase and wanted to make sure it would fit it my car. He gave me no response and barely even looked me in the eye and pulled out a measuring tape, handed it to me and looked away. Uh ok...so then I measured my car came back in and handed him the measuring tape and said "it'll fit! :) " again no response and just took the measuring tape....I'm a girl a small girl at that so by myself I hauled the chair from the back of the store to the line. Not once anyone offering to help. Finally got to the register, paid for the chair and told the lady I would leave it upfront to pull my car around, again she offered no help. Again love world market but I will now be finding a different location to shop at. read more
