We had a great experience here with Jim Berry as our salesperson. He was really friendly and patient with us, without being pushy at all. We probably spent over 2 hours in the store, testing out just about every sofa for our apartment. And asked him a thousand questions. He didn't upsell us anything, if anything I felt he was always trying to find us good deals for our budget. He was really knowledgeable with his inventory as well. I don't leave negative reviews, but this is the WORST couch we've ever had or sat on. AVOID ASHLEY AT ALL COSTS. my partner bought a couch from Ashley 4 years ago and it's great! so we decided to get another from them. this couch has gone downhill FAST. it has deteriorated worse in 5 months than his old couch has in 4 years. we bought in June, and it is 5 months later and it is pilling EVERYWHERE, the seat cushions are completely flattened and there's giant gaps between them. my legs go numb after sitting on it for too long, it's like sitting on wood covered in itchy, poorly made, fabric. it's also creaking already. technician came out and said that it is a subpar couch and poorly made, but that Ashley will say it's normal ware. as of now I cannot recommend Ashley furniture at all and would suggest to stay away. pending the resolution and the outcome, it might be a different story, but they are not a good company to work with or buy from. pictures speak for themselves, the amount of pilling on this is couch is ridiculous. read more

I wanted a new couch and definitely wanted to go to a store to pick one out. I want to feel what I'll be using day in and out for several years especially since I don't plan on replacing it anytime soon. I was also in the market for a small chair and thought I might possibly find one in a store as well. After briefly looking at their website I figured this was a good place to start and they were close. When we came in we were casually greeted and basically told to see the salesperson with questions. So we walked around the store and checked out everything since we were in fact redecorating all of our shared spaces. I knew my partner wanted a chaise so he could stretch out and I wanted a full couch. We talked to the salesperson a bit because fabric really matters to me. We foster kittens throughout the year so I wanted something that felt good to the skin, didn't make you warm, and could stand up to tiny needle claws. I was also concerned because when I owned a sectional many years ago separating was a real thing. The first couch that I had really liked the most was the best choice for our needs. She also let me know that you can totally buy connectors to install on it later if it was a problem (she didn't think it would be and she was right). It was awesome just to pick out the pieces we needed and she made it really easy. We knew it was really popular and it would be on backorder. We ordered it knowing it would be at least a little while before we'd get a call to schedule delivery. We left really excited. Right on schedule they called and set up delivery. Unfortunately, this location the better of 2 locations in the greater PDX area. However, basic customer service skills seem to be lacking. In December 2024, my order was cancelled WITHOUT ME BEING NOTIFIED, the day it was due to be delivered. After the chaos of that, we confirmed I would not like to reorder and go on my way. As of February 2025, the 3k authorization is still pending on my credit card account. When working to resolve this with the location, I receive NO follow up from staff, when promised a call back. The SAME customer service agent who was there for my sale, and whom I confirmed not to reorder with (when my order was abruptly cancelled), is the SAME customer service agent that outright does not follow up. Very poor form from this location. I expect more from anywhere I spend thousands of dollars at. read more

I worked with Jeanna to find a new sofa. We had some pretty specific requirements and she listened to our needs without high pressure sales tactics. We found the perfect sofa and ordered it for delivery at a later date. On my way out of the showroom I spotted a bedframe that caught my eye. I went back a couple of days later and worked with Jackson, who added that to my order in addition to changing the color choice for the sofa. Recently bought a sofa and chair. Pricing and selection was pretty good. Customer service there was okay, a smidge pushy while in the store (but that's standard). When our furniture was delivered the couch was dropped twice outside. Turned out there was damage inside that caused loud squeaking upon sitting. When you call to address you have to go through corporate. They scheduled a technician to come by who fixed the noise somewhat, but after a day it started again, just not as loud. The furniture is okay, not the most comfy but it wasn't too pricey so I suppose it's fair. Not the greatest experience overall. read more

They transferred me to the wrong store twice!! I personally stopped in and spoke with the manager of this store who told me his name was Aldi. After I learned that my daughter and her future fiance's couch which is broken was delivered only 6 months ago. He told me that a repair technician would contact my future son-inlaw to schedule a repair No one called. I called the warranty repair line but no one answerd it within 15 minutes. After reading all the one star reviews, I was worried my Soletren Sofa order wouldn't arrive on time. Luckily, it did and I'm fully enjoying the sofa a month later. It measures 96" x 40" x 39" and has the perfect stone color to complement my beige carpet. The sofa has a microfiber fabric, which gives it a felt-like fabric feel and maintains a tight, wrinkle-free look without dips or sags. I like that the back cushions are so plush that I could just sink into it when watching TV, yet it will provide resistance for back support. It is also included with four toss pillows with equally plush material. I purchased this during an "under new management sale" where every furniture was 50% off so it was $500. I worked with Renee to pick out the perfect sofa and I loved that she didn't try to upsell me on anything. She gave me space by letting me try out every couch displayed on the floor on my own without hovering over me. She would check-in with me every few mins to ask if I have any questions or need help in deciding. I actually ended up going to other furniture stores around the area to compare prices, but Ashley HomeStore's sale was just too good. The delivery process was very simple for me. When I purchased the sofa, I got to choose which date I wanted it to be delivered. The dates were almost two weeks out though so don't expect your new furniture in your home right away. A few days before delivery, I received text messages re-confirming the date and was given a four hour window to be at home. The delivery guys also called 10 mins before arriving to coordinate the delivery. I took off a star because of their delivery policy. They charge $100 for delivery of the sofa, which is mandatory for all purchases since you can't actually bring home anything you buy in-store. That doesn't sound fair, but I guess it's because they don't carry inventory at the store and have everything shipped from their Washington warehouse. So basically, you are forced to pay for the delivery fee no matter what. read more

I purchased a very expensive couch for myself as a birthday gift - my first new couch. From the start, once purchased, it was a horrible experience - unable to connect for months with local customer service (sent to Ashley CS housed overseas and after 5 mnths of trying finally got to a more local CS. I was promised a refund or exchange (in writing) and then that was rejected. The tech, a nice person and most helpful, came and "fixed" the various things wrong. Of course it is now worse than before. He mentioned it was just the way they were built and perhaps a floor model might be in better shape and I could reach out to the store. The only helpful people were the customer service folks in Salem and Eugene. Of course my purchase was in the Clackamas store. I sought out an attorney and am trying to decide which direction to go. The delivery service they use is terrible and unprofessional! We were so happy to get our new furniture, but the minute they gave us the wrong item (the foundation for the new bed), things went very south!! From showing up to our house at 8:30 pm unannounced and without the replacement part to scheduling pickups without contacting us first. They have scheduled three times now on days we won't be there. I only found this out because I CALLED customer service. When I tell them we won't be there, they still show up and call us asking where we are!?! The lack (or no) communication is unacceptable!! The icing on this terrible cake was how rude the guy I spoke with at the 82nd Clackamas store was (His name starts with a G and I called 7.31.2024 at around 5pm). He was very short and acted annoyed when I was trying to explain everything I went through with their service. You would think he would want to know this info and apologize on behalf of the company, but he couldn't be bothered. Ashley has a great selection of furniture, but it makes no difference if they can't deliver and assemble it. These people are LAZY. I ordered a dining room table that they were supposed to deliver and assemble. When they arrived there was an existing dining room table in the area that we wanted the new table to go. They said that they could not assemble the table because there wasn't any space to do so. They never stated that by simply moving the table and making space, that they could assemble the table. As they were leaving, I told them that I moved the table and made room. I asked them to come back into the house and assemble the table. CLEARLY there is enough room (see the photo below). They idled in front of my house for over 10-minutes. I thought they were going to come back in, but they drove off. BEFORE they refused to put the table together, my existing table was on the far wall, directly under the thermostat, which I would argue was still enough room to put the table together. Still, we moved our existing table of the area completely, and clearly there was enough room. My house is over 4000 square feet. There IS room. This could have totally been avoided if they simply told us that we needed take 15-seconds to move the table even further out of the way, waited for us to do so, and then assembled the table. TLDR: Buy furniture anywhere but here. Purchased March 21st and still waiting for items as of June 16th. I am so mad at myself for not checking the reviews before buying here. I have a similar story as the others and agree, I feel like this is a scam. If you're considering Ashley, just don't. If you do, at least go in with the expectation that it'll be an absolute nightmare. Picking out and purchasing furniture was soooo easy! Then it came down to actually getting the furniture.... March 21st: We were informed by our sales rep that delivery would be between 6-8 weeks "but don't worry because shipping is getting better and there is a good chance you'll get it sooner that that." OK great, we can deal with that. 7 weeks come along and we ask for an update. I inform the lady we were told between 6-8 weeks and she casually states oh noooo no no, it's closer to 10-12 weeks. UM WHAT?! Fast forward and we get 3 calls in a week all from different people all informing us of different delivery dates. Each time they'd call the delivery date was pushed out even more and each time they'd call they'd also ask if we'd like to do a partial delivery. YES! For the 3rd time send us what you have. 9 weeks after purchasing we get SOME of our bedroom furniture (which had several scratches and an entire drawer that was broken) and SOME of our couch. Will post updates as this nightmare progresses.... UPDATE #1: Ashley was able to get a replacement dresser for the broken one within 2 days. WOW! How amazing is that?! LOLJK they sent the wrong one...Honestly, deliver drivers and the people who schedule the delivery have been awesome and are the only reason why I'm not fuming right now. MAY 29th: One week after update #1 we recieved a replacement for the broken dresser. Again, delivery people were awesome. However *pro-tip* just plan on being home all day on delivery day, their delivery "window" is not a thing and they'll show up whenever they get to you. 10 weeks later we are still waiting for the rest of our sectional and bed frame. JUNE 9th: 11 weeks after purchasing we have a full couch (YAY) and part of a bedframe.... June 13th: Get confirmation that the rest of the bed will be delivered on 6/16. Prepare area for delivery and ensure I am available to recieve it. ON 6/16 I recieve a text update confirming my delivery for 6/17. It was changed at 8am on the day it was supposed to be delivered. Absolute worst experience! We ordered a living room set and a dinning room table prior to Thanksgiving for our new house. The living room and dinning set were separate orders and were set to be delivered on separate days. Our delivery for the living room was for a Saturday in mid December. We received an email from Ashley a few days before confirming our delivery was still a go and they would call us the day of with a time frame. On delivery day we waited until 4:00 pm and decided to call and check-in. No one answered the store number or the delivery number. I called the 1-800 number on the email and after waiting 30-35 minutes on hold was told Ashley had cancelled our order. They couldn't tell us why but that were to go to the store and reorder it. So we did, we tried to be understanding and we ended up setting up another delivery date (which the earliest was mid January). We were even given the managers and assistance "email addresses" in case of further issues. Of course they weren't valid addresses as my husband tried emailing and it bounced back as undeliverable. The dinning room set - was supposed to be delivered today, 12/23. We did not receive the confirmation email. Surprise, surprise when I called the 1-800 number today I learned they cancelled that order too. We ended up going to the store again getting a refund on both orders. We were told it is going to take 4-6 weeks to refund our order that was cancelled, which is absolutely ridiculous. We will be checking weekly for our refund. read more

1 Star is generous - BUYER BEWARE! This is specifically for the Jantzen Beach store, but applies to all of them, since we have had to try to deal with their central customer service (and I can barely type that phrase without laughing/crying) on multiple occasions. Ashley does reasonably well at the initial shopping experience, although to purchase a piece of furniture, it can easily take more than an hour to simply process the paperwork, kind of like visiting a car dealership. Post-shopping, however, is where they really fall down! We had a delivery scheduled, and all the accompanying text messages to tell us that. They did not show up, or call, or text. When we finally reached them via chat, since it is nearly impossible to reach them via phone, they said it had been rescheduled. Without notifying us. We sat there waiting again on the new day they scheduled. Nobody showed up, again. After more than an hour on hold, finally reached someone on chat again. This time, they explained that it is scheduled for pickup. What? OK, please change to delivery. No, you have to go to the store for that. Seriously? Yep. Then. There are no refunds. Period. They deliver the wrong color? No refund. It is broken? No refund. No replacement. Bought dishes there as well, unfortunately. They were on sale. Evidently, the sales person took them off a display table, stuffed them in a box and gave it to us. Complete with the nearly immovable glued-on felt pieces, on EVERY dish. Went into the store in person, and they told my 80 year old mother to "Use a knife or some other scraping tool, and hand sanitizer, and you can get them off." Not to mention they had chips from usage. Nope, no refunds or exchanges. Had to buy dishes off Amazon after that, still not sure what to do with the pile of crap they gave us. Send it to corporate maybe as an example of the great service and quality product? Now have asked the credit card company to dispute the charges. Honestly, I thought Comcast had the worst customer service. I would MUCH rather deal with them than Ashley for a problem. Update June 26th 2023 I requested within my warranty to have my table fixed that literally started to peel at the top of the table and bow up! I was denied help to fix my table that I was told is so sturdy and basically indestructible will hold up while having kids and a husband and hasn't even lasted a year!! Want to know why it's falling apart less than a year later?? Because the whole thing is made up of veneer and particularlboard!!! That is not what it claims when you buy it! I had recently purchased a bed frame in October of 2023, when I got a notification that my bed was going to be delivered in December I got rid of my old one thinking I was going to get all of the parts delivered, they did not notify me till the day of delivery that only the headboard was delivered. The other frustrating part is that the rest didn't get delivered till February 2nd, 2024 up till then it kept getting delayed multiple times. We ordered a sectional that comes in individual pieces in October for somewhere around 3k.... They delivered 4 pieces about 2 weeks later, and said the other 2 would be delivered in 8 to 12 weeks... It is March... 5 months later and we have had pieces of a sectional in our living room with wires scattered everywhere for months longer than we were told. We have had delivers scheduled and canceled twice. We have called 4 times only to be told to wait longer. The last time the lady said she would have someone call me back within 48 hours, and no one ever called. Our new puppy chewed through one of the exposed wires so one of our brand new recliners does not work now. I am so disappointed. The lack of communication has been ridiculous! I get that the pandemic has slowed things down, but be up front with your customers. If it's going to be a really really long time tell them that. My wife and I purchased a glider/recliner from your Clackamas, OR location on December 8th with a deliver scheduled for today. The account is under my wife, Jessica Swanson, but my cell. She is 36 weeks pregnant and wanted one for breastfeeding. Our delivery was scheduled for today Dec 28th. On Tuesday, I called your customer service to request a morning delivery, because I completely spaced our appointment for the baby today. The gentleman assured me that we could request a morning delivery and all would be taken care of.  Yesterday, Friday the 27th, at 8:18am I got a text requesting a confirmation of a delivery from 3pm to 7pm. I called customer service immediately to try and rectify but was on hold for 20 minutes and had to return to work. My wife was able to reschedule our appointments so that we would just barely make it home at 3pm. We shifted our entire day around the time that this company confirmed with us.  At 1pm I receive a call from a driver telling me he is there to deliver. I tell him about the window that was given to me, he acted disappointed in dispatch but said that if I wasn't there in 15 minutes he would leave. I was already at the hospital. I asked them to be there within the timeframe that was promised and the driver said that wasn't possible, but he would ask dispatch to call me.  I had called the store for assistance at 1:16 pm and asked for a manager. The woman stated they were unavailable and would have to call me back. An hour and a half later I had to call again, the previous woman was on lunch, and this one very politely told me there was nothing she could do. Still not call from the manager as requested and the previous woman did not document our conversation.  Dispatch didn't reach out for an hour and a half and all they could say was that they would have to reschedule. During delivery I was told I'd need to sign a waiver for house damage or they wouldn't drop it off. I have wide hallways and no other furniture delivery has ever done that. During delivery they damaged the barrel chair. I called in and sent pictures. They said no problem, it's covered. The technician can come in two weeks on a Wednesday. I asked if it could please be any other day because I had a newborn baby doctor appointment that day. They said no that was the only day. I moved my dr appointment. On the day they were supposed to arrive I hadnt heard from them. I called and chatted. After TWO HOURS of wasting my time trying to talk to someone they said "oh your technician appointment was canceled because we ordered new fabric to your house that they'll need to use. When that arrives call us back and schedule again". So I called back when fabric got here, they said the technician could come in 1.5 months. The second appointment came and you guessed it. They didn't show or send any message. I had to chat with them for 5 hours. They said the appointment had been canceled because of the pictures I sent them (at the very beginning) they realize it needs to be exchanged, not fixed. So they will call to schedule delivery. First let me say- I WAS NERVOUS TO BUY HERE. We went in store after I saw a sofa online and were met by an amazing salesman, Pat, who did a great job at helping us find what we needed. He wasn't pushy, was very kind and even talked to us and showed us mattresses when we mentioned we'd be looking for one of those soon too. The couch was a great price. It was set to arrive a week after our move in date but that was ok, we were fine sitting on chairs for 6 days. After we left the store I decided to look up the reviews and my heart dropped... I was terrified. I spent the next 3 weeks dreading that the sofa would be delayed. 3 days before delivery I got a weird number calling me. I answered and it was an Ashley confirmation. Then the next day, I got a text. Later that say they updated me the delivery time had been delayed by a few hours- no biggie. The day of I checked my delivery online by my number (I was never given a tracking number) and it showed that the guys were at stop 7, and we were stop 8. We then got a text they were 30 minutes out! The boys who arrived were super sweet and hard working. Our couch looks GREAT! I feel like many people have had good experiences like mine but only the bad experiences get reviews. We purchased a couch and loveseat, they delivered it to the carport, it would not fit through the door and when we called the same day to return it because we couldn't even get it in our house they said they would not return it. We were misled about the dimensions by the sales staff, were never informed that there is no return policy when purchasing in store. This is a very expensive couch and the way we are being treat is awful. Slow response from salesperson, we are elderly and did not need to run over the whole store trying to find someone. Once we found just the sofa we wanted, paid for and set up delivery date, we were very relieved as this was time sensitive. Delivery DAY came and got a call it would be delayed for 3 weeks! After rearranging our schedule to be there, this was not acceptable. We talked a little longer and after being on hold for a few minutes, we were told it would be delivered the next week, and got on our schedule. Again, the day before, we are told it would be delivered in 3 weeks. Needed it before then, so cancelled the order. Went to another store, found a great sofa, and it was delivered in 9 days. Do no , DO NOT use Ashley. We bought a sofa from the friendly man who took our money, and then it all went in to robot-land. Notices endlessly from associates in far-away countries. arrival endlessly delayed, then they only delivered 1/2 of the sectional, then said it would be first delivery on Saturday morning, was supposedly 15 minutes away, and turned north for some reason into the snow- no delivery. MY RECOMMENDATION IS TO NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE. We purchased the Ashley Signature Design Rectangular Extension Dining Table and 6 chairs (Model D658-01) on December 29, 2017. We paid $1220.01 ($1091.01 plus $129.00 delivery fee). At the time of purchase, I was concerned about the quality of the veneers on the table. The sales person stated this was a solid wood table that would not chip/scratch and the veneers where thick. I was also informed we had 30 days to return it. The table and chairs were delivered on January 9, 2018. Within 2 weeks, after delivery, there are multiple places where the veneers have worn away. I contacted Ashley Corporate on February 8. I was told they would make note of this since this was within the appropriate time frame. The soonest date a repair person could come out was on February 28. The repair person arrived on February 28 and said I had the option to repair this table or they could exchange the table for another model. I stated I wanted to exchange the table. He told me he would submit the request and if they did not call back within a few days to follow-up. I called on March 6, 2018 and was informed that I refused repairs on February 28 and they would not exchange the table since it was past the time frames in the purchase agreement. I had to reschedule the repair person to come out again on March 21. My only option at this time is to have the table repaired within the 1 year warranty. This $1200 table is poor quality. I am outraged by the deceiving misinformation Ashley Furniture has provided at the store and by their furniture repair person. They have zero interest in maintaining customers after the sale has been made. I will never buy furniture from Ashley Furniture again. Also, I will keep calling every SINGLE time this the veneers keep wearing away which is about 1-2 X per week a new spot appears. Yes, it KEEPS CONTINUING. I have about 5-6 spots now. These are not the occasional dents. The top coat keeps wearing away. HORRIBLE PURCHASE!!! Update: I posted photos of my table. This is what you get after spending 1200. The top finish is already wearing away (each spot is identified by the piece of tape in the photos). Ashley Furniture will only cover repairs under the 1 year warranty. Nice furniture line, polite and friendly sales associate. TERRIBLE Customer Service regarding delivery. Their Customer Service Center seems to be based out of state of Oregon, phones not answered during hours identified on the phone. Furniture did not arrive on date as promised, even though I contacted Customer Service and was told they were 'running behind', asked to speak to a CS supervisor (twice), none available, they called back two days later after I canceled my order. Store manager didn't seem too concerned about my frustration. I canceled the order and the truck showed up two days later with the furniture. Will never ever shop here again. read more
