I live not far from this place and drive by it a lot. It is one of those places that you have to go there with a purpose I think . I've sold many things through them and have bought a few things from them. I got lucky in the things we scored on I feel, they do take furniture but only if it's in great condition. I appreciate that to be honest . They have recently added more art and we've noticed that more people are present to greet us ands ask if they can help with anything as well. I have a serious pain condition, insomnia, and am sick. I went here to find something to use in my house. The owner came over and said that we were really checking out the chair. Yes! It was $300 and used. I told him I had to think and asked him to hold it. Gave all info. Knowing I was bedridden, he said, "Go home and sit in your bed and think about it." How rude! The person who helped bring out the chair damaged it, and it now creaks. I should have looked more. Go to downtown Milwaukie. Mafe's Mall. Store on the right while looking at the two places. Upscale is rude! Also, and I mean this. It is overpriced, has a lot of furniture that is worn. I buy used, because new is so toxic. Old comes with fire retardant, dust, and years of butts on the chair. It's not going to be as good. However, this place is very bad. If you go, try the chair out many times, and do not allow them to be rough with it. Never again! read more

One couch I liked almost talked my husband into getting then we looked up the name and found it cheaper at Macy's with a code and free delivery. The prices are "sky high "which is insane because I can go on craigslist and get 100% better deal! We walk out and he's talking to the lady at the front desk and doesn't even say a word to us! I love Upscale Consignment. Their inventory changes frequently, they keep their website updated with photos. I have called and put items on hold to view in person on multiple occasions, since I am usually looking for something specific I keep up online rater than just wandering through the store since I live an hour away. In 2012 I purchased a beautiful, custom desk with Queen Anne legs for $325, I also bought a matching printer caddy for an additional $50. I was thrilled with the purchase since I had been looking around for quite awhile for a desk for my office in my new home. Consignment takes some patience and perseverance, but the payoff is worth it to me, I could have spent at least 4x more on an inferior desk. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Be careful when purchasing furniture from them! We recently purchased a bookshelf advertised as a "teak bookcase". Apparently because they did not say, "solid teak bookcase" this means "teak veneer". I also learned that they can call any sort of veneer teak, oak, etc. I consider this to be massively misleading to the consumer. When the bookshelf was delivered (also...their delivery company is massively overpriced) I noticed it sways. We called and spoke with the owner to see if we could get some of our money back, but we were not successful. COMPLETE SCAM! read more

Big warehouse with lots to see but I think they could benefit greatly by hiring people to do curating that know more about furniture and different styles as they have plenty of room to cater to many aesthetics. But the man who selects items tends to choose very boring, traditional styles. So you really have to get past all the "ho hum" and search to find a gem. When I dare make the long trek, I always hope to find something to purchase but typically walk away empty handed. This place COULD be amazing! read more

There are only a handful of furniture consignment shops in the area and this is one of the better ones. Unlike another one in our area that doesn't mark down, this place drops the price by 5% every 30 days. They usually have a decent selection. The prices are a little high to begin with....but it keeps me from having to search craigslist and go to a strangers house...where I'll feel pressured to buy whether I like it or not. I've met some pretty creepy people off of craigslist...so yeah, I'll pay a little more to avoid that. And if I really don't want to pay the price I can wait and if it's still there at the 30 day mark the price will drop. However, patience isn't my strong suite. ;-) read more

Buyer beware! This place is sketch. Just bought $850 worth of office furniture with locks...but no keys. After the sale they mention that unless it is listed as "with keys". Last time here for me at this cheapo place. I'd recommend craigslist or Facebook marketplace. read more

I have shopped at Upscale Consignment for a while now and I must say that the inventory is wonderful. I have purchased art, jewelry, and furniture there and could not be happier. The unique pieces and quality of everything is just great. I am always greeted kindly and the staff is knowledgeable and always available. Their prices are very good. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. Both for shopping at and for selling at. 1) Their inventory changes week to week. There is so much variety and so many styles. Is this place Ikea prices? No, but it's also way better quality so the pricing makes sense. 2. Their website is fantastic. Easy to navigate and it is nice to see what new inventory they get so that I can keep tabs on what I'm looking for. Mega great. 3. It's a "Mom and Pop shop." I believe in investing in local businesses because it makes communities stronger. This is a business where you can do exactly that. It benefits both the business owners and the consignors. 4. Selling my furniture here couldn't have been easier. Something I would like to add real quick: I see most of the low star ratings are complaining about not being greeted. Something I really LOVE about this place? The staff leaves you alone. Most other furniture stores they bother you your entire trip, but here? They are available for questions but don't hassle me at all. Did anybody greet me when I first entered? Most of the time, but not every time. Am I offended? No because I'm not crazy. I have been in UC several times after driving by it for a couple of years. On their website I listed what I am looking for and when anything matches I am notified which was very cool. This is another place to get ideas and see a lot of nice furniture at a fraction of the cost of new retail. I was quite impressed with the brand names I saw (thus the name "Upscale" ) and the selection of leather furniture. I also appreciate the fact that I can look without being bothered like in some furniture stores. They have price breaks depending on how long the item has been on the floor. Also, not sure when but they started carrying jewelry and very nice dishes and fine china. Sort of like an estate sale without the odd feeling that I am invading someone's home. read more

I went in a few weeks ago, to check it out, and I saw Christmas items that were 30% off, even though they sell them at Hobby Lobby for the EXACT same price as what the sale items were. Hey. I live in Eugene and have used these guys several times over the years with good success. They are our favorite used furniture store in Oregon, by a wide margin. Nice combo of surprisingly good quality and competitive prices. And they are large enough that we've always found several nice pieces on each trip. They have a good system of reducing prices over time which keeps their stock fresh and results in some nice bargains if you're lucky. I have found the Staff very helpful, and if I am not approached at first there is someone there to assist you, JUST ask, and you will have all your concerns addressed. I made a purchase a couple of months ago here. I have to say when I first went in to look at the item, my friend and I weren't treated all that well. I was really disappointed but I kept watch on the item for a couple months and feeling not too great about making the trip over there, I emailed in about it...and much to my surprise: they responded very cordially. I called them and sorted out the details and went in and paid for/picked up my item. Everyone was very nice and friendly and the item I got was phenomenally priced. I am very happy with my transaction. My only advice to the business is: you would have made the sale 2 months prior (maybe) had you been slightly friendlier :) Still happy with the store and my purchase. Advice to future customers: if you have a price in mind, make an offer - the worst they can do is say no but they just might say yes! read more

I am rating this store and it's workers a zero. I have shopped at this store for many years and have spent a lot of money here as well. I am writing this review after this same event happening to us twice. On both occasions I have been quoted a price for delivery, only to have the delivery drivers show up to demand more money than I was quoted by the consignment staff (in this case Carson). They refused to leave until they received another ten dollars. I called the store, and spoke to Carson and he stated first that he wasn't working the day before when we spoke and he quoted me a lower deliver fee, only to restate that he was when I asked "then is there another Carson". My point is, as I am a business man, you are only as good as your word to your customers. This establishment has lied to me now on two occasions. While I have shopped here for years, I would advise everyone to steer clear from any place that can't tell their most valuable asset "their customer" the truth. Don't buy from here, there's plenty of other establishments willing to gain your trust and business. read more

Honestly, this would have garnered 5 stars had it not been for what I felt was excessive "dining room furniture" inventory.. Not sure how many folks are in the market for a "hutch" these days, although there were a few formal dining tables that were worth the attention. But this place has a lot of room, and I love the attention they have put into staging quite a few areas, not just furniture, but decor as well. It's a bit out of my way to go here but I see myself making the trek every six months or so. Upscale is my new favorite furniture store!! I've gone in there at least 10-15 times since I first discovered them, and I've found a ton of great items each time! So I figured I should share their awesomeness with the world. First, the building is HUGE....they have such a wide variety of furniture, and they have used AND new furniture. All the used furniture is on a mark-down schedule, so if you fall in love with a piece, but it's out of your price range, you can wait two weeks and it's marked down 10%!!! This is an awesome concept, because this means that the furniture doesn't just sit there...their stuff is constantly rotating, which could be a bad thing for me, because I want to go in every week to see what's new :) The used furniture is always in excellent shape, I never see anything in there that should have gone to Goodwill or been in a garage sale. Their stuff is NICE...I'm always surprised that people get rid of furniture that looks BRAND NEW... Staff has always been super friendly and helpful, I saw someone on here said she got ignored, but maybe they caught them on a bad day, because I always get excellent customer service. And they were even kind enough to explain the whole consignment process to me, and how the markdowns work. AND, last but not least, they have a website with EVERY item in their store on it... with photos, descriptions, and dimensions of EVERY item! I don't know how they have the time to do this, I really dont...because they have a TON of stuff! But its fabulous, because if you don't have time to visit the store, you can browse the website to see if they have anything that you're looking for. Then if you do find something you like, you can call and they can hold the item for you for 24hrs until you can come in to see it. Awesome concept!! Oh my gosh, I could go on for days. I have purchased a few items at Upscale Consignment for my home, my office and for Mt Hood Vacation Rentals. I have always found good quality items for a fair price and with good customer service. And it is a lot easier than running all over town following up Craig's List ads which are not always reliable or accurate. My family and I went in last week to look at a dining set we had seen posted on Craigslist. The person who spoke to us showed us to the dining sets and when I mentioned that we had seen the same set on sale for less elsewhere, the man told me I must be mistaken. I felt like he was fairly rude about it. They claim to have excellent prices but we did not find that to be the case. We went to another retailer and purchased the same set for $200 less. Today I saw they lowered their price. I understand that the customer is not always right, but I don't appreciate being told I am mistaken after I've done my research. 3.5 stars.... But I can't get that to show up. I'll err on the side of a higher rating. I've eyed this place for awhile, my family and I are redecorating and have been looking for a sectional. Because I have kids and dogs I've been hesitant to pay for a new sectional- but I do want quality. Upscale consignment has good, quality furniture and I would agree that the price is about 50% of full price- although there were some pieces that seemed priced very high ( but who knows). Several different styles of furniture are represented- so it was fun to look at all the options. I do think that the art is WAY over priced. My issue was the overall tone of customer service. We were greeted at the door by a gentlemen who was at the counter- but once on the floor we had no one to ask for assistance. I had no idea how to buy anything- so I ended up bringing the tags to the front (which seemed to have been the wrong choice). I asked if the price on one of the art pieces was negotiable- he curtly said no. (To be fair there was a sign saying prices are firm, but I hadn't seen it). After I said that I wanted to buy the two pieces (totally over 1000.00) the gentlemen asked the woman behind me if she needed help- she needed a check. He politely asked if he could get the check for her first- no problem. I went to put one of the tags back on an art piece that I didn't buy. The exchange was polite- but far from friendly or helpful. I got the feeling that I was not considered a very valuable customer. In the time it took for him to help the other lady and for me to put back the tag- I talked myself out of buying one item (300.00). When I came back to the counter- he was gone and a woman was there to help. She was friendly and nice. But I ultimately was put off by the exchange with man. He DID say hello at the door- but I had no idea what the process for buying was, no one assisted me and I just felt like he didn't think I should be there or he doubted I had money. Just a feeling I got, but looking through the reviews- it seems like a theme. My suggestion for Upscale is just to be nicer. Your inventory is great, I thought the furniture prices were reasonable but I felt like a burden. UPDATE- Ken, thank you for taking the time to respond! I appreciate your response and I wanted to let you know the sectional arrived today and it's in even better shape than I noticed at your store.
