Let me just say I love this Hobby Lobby store! I had never even heard of this chain before but while at Clackamas promenade running errands since all of Multnomah County is still in Pandemic lockdown, I walked past this store and being a crafter, had to check it out. I was not disappointed! The store is quite large and filled with items in so many categories. There are silk plants and flowers and a myriad if vessels. Planters and vases. Fir the artist, there are colored pencils, markers, paints, brushes, easels and canvas. In the back are frames if many styles and sizes plus you can custom frame your art. I always like perusing the seasonal section of craft stores and Hobby Lobby has a huge area dedicated to all things summer. Vibrant colored melamine dishes and serving pieces for your patio or garden. Plastic glasses, serving trays, bbq tools and so much more! Lots if fun and whimsical items too. I picked up a pack colorful 5" toothpicks perfect for appetizer platters during these pandemic times. Also grabbed some whimsical dish towels. Lots and lots of modern country and an entire aisle filled with every kind of lantirn and style you can imagine. They also carry a vast assortment of outdoor cushions and pillows made with sun protected fabrics for your patio and garden. The pillows came in so many vibrant colors, patterns and even shapes. I fell in love with a rattan pillow with 2 parrots on the front. Darn, if only it matched my décor. I was able to find a navy blue and white geometric pillow perfect for the Chase on my balcony I was pleasantly surprised to find so many home décor items. They were organized throughout the store on kiosks by style. For beachy and cozy cottage décor; modern farmhiuse; mid century modern; teen decor; and even an entire display of every kind of pink flamingo one would want - if pink flamingos are your thing!!! Passing the shelves loaded with glass vases, I noticed a short round vase with a silver band around the top, the perfect mid century modern vase for fresh flowers, perfect for style. Even better since it was on sale for $4.99! It immediately went into my shopping basket. So for a random first time visit into this store, I ended up with an assortment of items that I never knew I needed, but absolutely had to have. Will definitely keep this store in mind any time I'm in the Clackamas area. It is always worth a run through. read more

1) Customer Service doesn't exist here at this store. When you ask them about a product they have no clue about it. They aren't crafty people at all even if you ask them. 2) Went in with a Crib Quilt Top to get a piece of batting for it. All I needed was some to cover it. 3) Asked if I could lay it out and cut it to the quilt top only to be told "We can't do that" I said I didn't need her to I'd do it. So she called and asked a supervisor who said , "no we can't do that". 4) Take your business to either Craft Warehouse or Pioneer Quilts but not Hobby Lobby. This place is not equipped to help you with any project other that to direct you to a location in their store. They need to be better educated in order to serve their customers properly read more

They've got a very good selection of craft items, I love shopping here, I always manage to find great things for my cosplays and hobbies, even if it's a bit expensive, I find it worth it for the details. However, just a few minutes ago I was stopped at the door and accused of stealing. I was thinking of getting some jewelry but decided against it and put them back on the shelf near the checkout area and was headed to the door when a woman stopped me and accused me of leaving without paying. She asked me to empty my pockets, which I did. I showed her all the stuff in my pockets, my phone, my headphones, keys, though she still didn't believe me and threatened to call security, so I emptied the extra pockets on my cargo pants which had a used eraser and spare change. She ended up letting me leave but I was baffled, I'd never been accused of stealing from there before and was kind of offended, but I do look like a punk teen and had a bunch of pockets with change and my keys in them, so that's on me I guess. two days ago went to hobby lobby (Clackamas, Oregon) and we saw a security guard at the end of the aisle, then I was picking some stuff and I saw him standing there looking at us, ok, I kept looking for the items I needed and the man hasn't moved from there, store was fairly crowded but he decided to pay attention to us. it's because I'm Latina? really?! If you purchase an item or items from Hobby Lobby no matter how much or how big and you pay full price, but you return a few days later and the item or items that you purchased are on sale. They will not adjust the pricing difference from your receipt, they want you to bring all the items back into the store so they can rescan them. Not sure this is a good policy, have never heard of this practice before, but it is a good way for them to get out of the adjustment. read more

I appreciated that the employees made you feel welcome at this store, had no issues being stopped to ask for help although saying no we don't have those is sad because they totally did! NOPE. I went here before I knew about their politics, beliefs, and shady business practices, any one of which would keep me away from this place now. But even before I knew any of that stuff, I had a horrible experience here! The store itself is huge, which is great for a multi-passionate crafter and artist like myself! But so much of it was disorganized and all over the place. I walked back and forth so many times, I'm sure I got my 10k steps in that day! I don't think I ever saw a single employee on the floor when I had questions or needed to find certain things, either. Not to mention everything just seemed cheap/Made in China. Plus it was SO hot in there. Just, ew. Checking out was a nightmare. All the lines were super long and slow. The poor woman who (eventually) checked me out seemed beaten down (and also: hot! She was sweating. They really needed to turn on the A/C that day.) I had a chunky marker in my cart, among other things, and it wouldn't scan. So after waiting way too long, a manager came over and priced it off the top of her head at $8.99 which seemed a bit high for one pen but I just went with it. When I got home, the pen was DRY. Totally unusable. I think it might have been a pen for the store that an employee just left in a bin accidentally? And overall, things seemed over-priced compared to similar items elsewhere. At the end of the day, Portland has so many (chain and local) art and craft supply stores that are SOO much better than this place. I will never go back or recommend it. read more

I went in to Hobby Lobby in Clackamas to get two $100 gift cards for friends to start the school year. I was super kind and asking questions about gift cards. The staff was so rude and unprofessional in the way they talked to customers. Not only myself but the lady in front of me. The lady in front of me turned to me and said "I'm so sorry this is taking so long, this lady has been so rude to me." I will never be back. You guys need to check your customer service. Tell the young girls at the front and cash register they need to check their attitudes and actually smile. This is my absolute favorite store, I can literally get lost in there for hours. Well over $1,000 has been spent in your store by me, just in 2021! My experience here has always been more than great. Your sales rock, your employees go above and beyond with excellent customer service, and the items that I purchase here are always high-quality, reasonably priced, and SO cute! If something does break or malfunction, your return policy is more than fair.However, today's shopping experience wasn't so great. While shopping for some very last minute Christmas items, I noticed I was being watched and followed by an employee. I really didn't think anything of it... loss prevention just doing their job. I get it, it's the Holidays, everything is crazy. I then started to notice that codes were being called over the intercom whenever I walked to a different part of the store. I thought that was kind of strange, but figured it was just a coincidence. I was on the hunt for some very specific items so I could finish making an ornament for a friend who lost their house in the fires last year. The ornament says "First Christmas in our new home 2021." I glued it onto a wooden round cut-out and I went in shopping today looking for the perfect accessories to jazz it up a bit. It took me a very long time to find everything I was looking for, and I also picked up some fun items for myself along the way. Before I walked into your store, I had just finished my 16th round of radiation. Radiation makes me extremely fatigued, nauseas, and it also effects my thinking process. (I have to really think about what is said to me and spend some time processing when I am spoken to, especially if I am caught off guard) While some of my behavior may seem a bit strange, (standing in one place for a few minutes at a time so I don't vomit all over your floor, occasionally having to reach up the bottom of the frontside of my shirt to adjust my drain because it was pulling at the surgical site causing pain, having to adjust and pull down my sweatshirt constantly because my prosthetic left breast kept sticking to my shirt causing my sweatshirt to roll halfway up my back, standing (out of everyone's way) at my cart scrolling through my phone while looking at Pinterest for ornament decor ideas, frequently opening and going through my purse to get access to my medication and nausea lozenges) that does not warrant you the excuse of how poorly I was treated today. read more

Love this place! First timer...I've seen advertisements on television, but had no idea there was one in the Portland Metro area. We visited on a weekday around lunch time. It was kinda busy for a weekday, but I chalked that up to the upcoming Christmas holiday. ALL holiday items (gift wrap, cards, decorative boxes, tree trimmings, wreaths, baking stuff, decorative signs and figurines, etc.). TONS of sale items, even items not holiday related. I've heard this store compared to Michael's, but on steroids...true! So impressed with their quantities and variety. I especially appreciated the variety of signs...a few my husband would love for his new shop! We spent about an hour here and only got through about half the store...it's HUGE! I'll definitely be coming back here for gifts and craft supplies. Highly recommend checking it out! read more

So with the newness of this place one would think there'd be something extremely special that would drive away business from Michael's or going to the craft warehouse but don't be fooled it's the same damn store with much older staff. It's new it's clean they have everything that you can find at any other craft store I didn't see anything special...i toured the whole store. it wasn't crowded but it was hell to check out with only 2 cashiers working so it was slow as heck to actually get in and out we went on several occasions with the attempt to check it out and I've determined I don't like their operating hours. closed on Sundays for religious reasons and close at 8 o'clock Monday through Saturday I believe... 95% of other local businesses close at 9 o'clock because it aligns with the mall hours. If I was you I'd go to Michael's any day and use your 40% coupon as far as I can tell they didn't have any type of reward program read more

I want to start by saying that I love Hobby Lobby as a store in general. The deals and discounts are wonderful, the merchandise is cute and I love the variety and quality. This location in general isn't the best. Their aisles are consistently picked over and they are often missing items for weeks on ends. Not to mention it has some of the most unpleasant employees. They are never helpful when asked and furthermore they don't offer to help. I went in last night and was awkwardly wandering around the flower section looking for something and had a worker come down the aisle. I think it was honestly really obvious I needed help but before I could ask or before she even thought to offer she just says "excuse me" and walks past me. I asked if they had a certain item in stock and she just blankly looked at me and then shook her head and turned around to keep walking. I tried to make a point by very loudly saying "thank you" and then I walked away. I have worked in retail, it's a bummer I know it is. But you can at least try to be somewhat plesant. A simple "no, sorry we do not, heres an alternative option" or "no sorry we do not, have a lovely day!" goes a long way. When I went to check out the gal at the register was equally as unpleasant. It's unfortunate that this is the closest Hobby Lobby, I would definitely shop at a different location if I could. read more

I love Hobby Lobby stores ... just love them. I was so surprised (and happy) to hear there was a new one close to the Clackamas Town Center Mall. I had to go and so my daughter and I did . There were so many decorative items, craft and hobby items to check out. Plus, much of the store had great sales with 50% off signs at the end of many aisles. Prices are usually pretty good at a Hobby Lobby even without the extra discounts. However, who doesn't want to get something lower than the normal price? In addition, there was a 40% off coupon offered on the website. Naturally, we both took advantage of that. The downside of a new store is staff training. Employees were everywhere but not necessarily helping customers. They were stocking shelves, blocking aisles and chatting with other employees. Why does a supervisor feel it's necessary to interrupt sales staff helping customers? Can't they wait until that customer is finished? I've always wondered that. However, what a great store and I know whenever in the area I'll be paying it a visit or two. read more

Wow, just no. If you're looking for quality art supplies then they have a limited selection and they are easily a couple bucks more than in any other local art supply shop in town. If you're looking for decorative crucifixes, well they have them on every end cap... though they may have missed that commandment about graven imagery. I was slightly worried when I first walked into Hobby Lobby a few months after opening. It looked like most Michael's, bare shelves. We came back a few months later and what a difference! This was the Hobby Lobby so many other crafters had described. It was packed with crafters product. Paints, beads, sewing, candles, fabric and tons upon tons of other goodies. If this Hobby Lobby does not have what you are looking for most other places definitely will not and your best bet is online at that point. We went close to Christmas so the store was especially packed with product. They have hundreds of specials, gift cards and coupons. Service was friendly when we could find assistance but it was frantically active. There were many employees and they did not offer to assist lost customers. I decided to help a few of them myself (I know my acrylic paints). I'll chalk that up as the hectic season this time. As a miniaturist myself the mini section is sorely lacking but I do expect that often on the West Coast so I was happy that they had anything at all. Prices were not bad, still a bit hefty but with the selection provided I did not mind the cost too much. Even during the holiday season we found plenty of parking. Have fun! read more

Well, if you're a crazy person, you take your husband and toddler to Hobby Lobby's grand opening in Clackamas, where there are roughly 6,000,000 other excited moms and grandmas (and beleaguered husbands), all rushing around with gleeful looks on their faces and full shopping carts. But you're not a crazy person, so you're reading this after opening day (which was, for your edification, 6/4/18). Here's what to expect: --Cool craft supplies not carried at Michaels and JoAnn's. In particular, I like their: craft caddies, galvanized metal, glass, and unfinished wood sections. I'm a little less fond of their Happy Planner section (it's pretty small), but it does feature items not carried elsewhere. --Really cool decorative items, generally organized by theme (coastal, farm, man cave, etc.) or type (such as several aisles of wooden boxes/crates, and several aisles of candle-holders). --Some other stuff that I never seem to check out, like fabric and party supplies, because I am way too busy in the aforementioned wooden box/crate aisle. It's fun to go and look around, they have a lot of home decor, however not much that fits me enough to take home....or worth waiting through the long checkout process. It's a normal process, just takes forever every time I've bought something. And I'm super tired of the staff being either too busy, condescending (what kind of idiot would think we had Thanksgiving stuff left before Thanksgiving?!?), or they openly have no clue where items are. I hear them complaining every time I go in, and have to be very forward about wanting help in order to receive any help. There's a serious need for some customer service training. Enjoy the inspiration isle while you try to find what you want to make next! Hobby lobby is a Christian based company you can either look past their views and enjoy the shopping or just don't go in if you are triggered. I recently went with my Husband, Mother, and Daughter-In-Law to Hobby Lobby to find decorations for my Daughter's site where she was killed last August by a drunk and high driver. As we tried to find what joy we could together at this moment we struggled with the theme and finally loaded up our cart and walked around the corner to pick out the fake flower section where you are not only in earshot but also visual on both sides of the isle of these. We were picking them out and within minutes my cart was gone. I and my mom and daughter-in-law went looking for 20 minutes up and down every aisle also even asked 2 employees if they had seen it and of course no. We go to check out my mom's cart and I look over at a half-empty cart in the very front off to the side the only thing left is some of the acrylic paints. I asked why and they ignored me if it was me working there and that happened I would have offered to help gather the items or at the very least acknowledge our existence on the question. I walked back around to reload everything and on the way out I smiled and said smile Merry Christmas this lady dared to look straight threw me and turned her head the other way. I was so displeased and my heart hurt for such lack of compassion and in all honestly just being a decent human being anymore is secondary to the standards at Hobby Lobby. read more

This is the most amazing craft store the prices are so reasonable and the staff is very friendly I love coming here if you find a hobby lobby you are in luck definitely check it out it's very fun.. I got very cute bandannas for both my shepherds for a dollar each and they have lots of different patterns. I also got a beautiful fabric for my window and made darling curtains. The two women that I interacted with at this store were horribly rude. I asked a lady to help me find something and she ignored me and then after I said excuse me she then took me right to what I was looking for without me repeating myself. She then in a very sassy tone said "I understand that ma'am, but." First of all she was much older than me and was saying ma'am to be disrespectful. Also hobby lobby doesn't support special needs or the LGBTQ+ community. So I'm definitely never coming back to hobby lobby again. What a horrible experience. read more

Last weekend I went into this store and filled my cart w items...all on sale according to their signs. As I'm putting my items on the counter I asked for the 40% off coupon for one item they used to have. The cashier quickly informed me they dont do that anymore. I put the 75% off the MARKED price items on the counter and the cashier had her supervisor Tonya come over and condescendingly inform me that it's off the original price, not off the marked price as the sign reads...I was supposed to read the tiny print at the bottom of the sign. I was miffed at the terrible customer service so I told her I didnt want my clearance items and put my items that she rang up back into the cart. She wrapped nothing so 2 items broke as I walked to the car. I got home to compare my items w my receipt. I wanted to make sure the clearance items were removed. I was shocked to see all the same barcodes on the receipt! I couldn't tell WHAT I was charged for. I had 3 more items on my receipt than what I counted. AND the floral items didn't ring up 50% off. I called and talked to a very nice store manager, Brian, who told me to come back and he would take care of me. Went back today, Brian was on vacation...co manager was at lunch, Nathan a supervisor made some kind of a rude comment to the cashier( who was the same one who rang me out last week and who was completely rude today)...he was busy holding hands and playing w his girlfriend in front of us all...finally Katie showed up. She told me she would be back after researching my receipt. She came back up and told me she reviewed tape AND everything on my receipt was in the cart. She said the one $22 item I didn't think I had was a black and white flower? No idea what shes talking about. I asked her to show me the item on the floor. She said she would take me back and show me the tape, for some reason couldn't just show me the item on the floor. I didnt have time to review tapes. She gave me 50% off one of the items I didn't think I had and 50% off the floral items that she said are never on sale. I guess I am just forced to pay for the other 2 items? I appreciate her trying to help...however I added the items as I pulled them out of the bags and there were definitely 3 more on the receipt. I think this hobby lobby alters or has reviews removed... I'd swear I already reviewed this location. Anyway. Pros: Lots of options, they have multiple brands and lots of the things I need are found here, unfortunately a lot of the materials I use for my crafting are not sold at micheals and unfortunately the stores of Oregon just don't have great stock in general. I always find what I need here so I trek to hobby lobby, although I don't really want to. Cons: Lots of gimmicky home decor. "love, love, laugh" type of signs, decorations for your soccer mom lifestyle, pre-designed bottles and signs and statues and dreamcatchers. Mass printed pictures of cactus and Pinterest like motivation posters along with crosses and god themed decor - just not my style. I want to craft. Leave the personal stuff out of it. The store isn't really.. organized? The layout is not clear cut, when I am at micheals I have a easy time finding what I need, and similar materials are all in one space. While hobby lobby seems to really organize by specific craft projects. So items that are similar get spread around, the aisles are also not labeled. It would be so nice to know if that I walk a certain direction or go down an aisle, I won't be wasting time and will know what's on the aisle. Maybe it's a dumb thing to be upset about but I don't like how hobby lobby organized the store. The employees don't know anything about product at all. read more
