I use this pharmacy, but you can't go inside. You have to call from your car and wait in your car for them to bring your prescriptions. There's no browsing of any kind in the store because they won't let you in. I do like the people there, but it's kind of a hassle. read more

This is an objectively awful business. I showed up over an hour before they closed and followed the instructions on the door for service. I'm all for virus precautions and preventative measures, but the protocol here defies common sense. They're going above and beyond to be alarmist and pseudo-virtuous. This review isn't about that though. I called the number on the door and got no answer. When someone looked up and made eye contact with me they quickly looked away and turned off the lights in the business. I called several more times, not getting an answer, all the while at least three employees actively avoided eye contact with me. I just needed a simple toiletry. This pharmacy used to have a different name. It was also terrible and failed. This is essentially the same business, same price gouging and same unconscionable customer service. The owner/management clearly have zero understanding about of fundamental business practices. They survive because they're the only option in the immediate area. You're better off saving your time and money at one of the chain pharmacies a few miles away. This business deserves to fail and it inevitably will. Go somewhere else and expedite the process. Maybe a tenant with basic decency will fill the space. read more

After calling several different pharmacies I ended up choosing New Era! All the staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the medication I needed which my local pharmacy could not supply. They ended up being on the cheaper end as well! The customer service rep was able to answer all my questions and once I placed my order I received my medication within the timeframe I needed for shipment! I was a satisfied customer of Strohecker's for six years. Not anymore. Strohecker's usually includes supplies (that is, syringes) when you mail-order your injectable medication from them. The medication that I take has two types of syringes, 18ga and 22ga. For some reason unbeknownst to me, Strohecker's always sent many more of one type than the other. This was fine for a while -- it just meant I had an extra stockpile of the 18ga needles -- until eventually, they started sending few enough 22ga needles that I ran out. I called Strohecker's to order more needles, and they charged me $25 for ten of each kind. I know needles don't really cost this much. But moreover, I was at work when I called, and didn't have my medication with me. A few days later, I realized that it was time for me to order a refill on the medication anyway. Had I waited, I could have just gotten extra needles for free along with the refill. So, when I called to order my refill, I asked if they would deduct the $25 from the cost of my next refill. The billing manager refused to do this. He said "if I gave out extra supplies for free, I'd be losing money". I have no idea why I'm supposed to care about him "losing money" by selling syringes at an 800% markup (or possibly even more). Even though Stroheckers charges substantially less for my medication than any other pharmacy I know of, I can't stand to support a business that has such contempt for its customers. I can't understand why they were so happy to lose my business, after six years, over $25. Edited to add: I wrote a letter to Strohecker's to let them know they wouldn't be receiving my business anymore because of this incident. Months later, I've received no response. I guess they don't want my business -- or, likely, yours. read more

I have had to use Strohecker's for fertility medications and found them to be helpful. In the past my clinic has used national pharmacies which is fine since I had no problem with. Being able to use a local pharmacy, you get a level of service that is unmatched by bigger national ones. The pharmacist is well versed in these specific types of medications and what they are used for. Fertility treatment sucks and having a pharmacist on call (yes, he gives out his business card with email and cell phone number on it) to answer any questions or fill any last minute prescriptions is an awesome thing. They are only one of a handful of "local" pharmacies that receives discount pricing on fertility meds (a huge deal since 99% of fertility patients pay out of pocket). A previous poster mentioned that they labeled all the meds, well they actually labeled the syringes too. With the bigger pharmacy I had to spend time matching up the correct syringe with the correct medication. Ugh. read more

But you know those ads for some of the big-box store pharmacies where the pharmacists know your name and remember any problems you may have had in the past? Well, this place actually does what those ads claim megamart pharmacies can do. And they do it from a location that just happens to be a less than 15-minute walk from my house. P.S. I've even heard them giving suggestions for dosages of human over the counter medicines to give to ill pets on the vet's recommendation. I've been using this pharmacy since they were Stroheckers Pharmacy, and I lived within walking distance. One of things I was afraid I'd miss most when I moved from the West Hills to Oregon City was this pharmacy so conveniently close by. Within a month of my moving, they relocated to East Portland and became New Era. I'm having my meds mailed to now, so I miss my personal interaction with the staff, but the few times recently when I did interact, I was reminded how wonderful they are. I had just been told I hat a blood clot and needed to pick up a new prescription. I called to be sure they were open, I was obviously stressed when I found out the medication would not be available until the next day. She started to ask me if she should call around to see if it was available elsewhere. Through my tears, I told her I couldn't talk now and would call back later. Within about an hour, she (I'm sorry I don't remember name. I think it was Kathleen, but as I said, I was pretty stressed out at the time) called me, saying she had searched and it was not available elsewhere either, but she would cal me the next day as son as it came in. I am so grateful that she called back to check on me, and had gone the extra mile for me. Last week, my doctor phoned in a refil on that prescription. I immediately got a call from New Era saying they had the refill, but before mailing it to me, they wanted to be sure I wasn't down to my last one and would need it immediately, or could I get buy until the mail came. This kind of personal attention to detail is one of the many reasons whichwill keep me a customer of New Era, even though there are many pharmacies much closer and convenient to my home. read more

This place has become my favorite pharmacy. After my local pharmacy informed me that their suppliers were out of my prescription (a generic) but offered to sell me an extremely expensive brand name drug I called around and come to find out none of my local pharmacies had the generic form either. I called Stroheckers and because they are a compounding pharmacy they had it in stock, in a generic version, and at a great price. They shipped it to me within a day. I'm really impressed! This is the best pharmacy I have ever worked with bar none. Their staff is incredibly efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. They always pick up the phone and if you call after hours just leave a message and they will call you back. Prescriptions never get lost whether they're mailed or faxed. Orders go out the same day if not immediately the next morning and arrive LIGHTNING fast. I've been using them for 12 years and I'm in Los Angeles but I refuse to switch to some place local because they are so good at what they do. Note that prices are higher but well worth it. I had a great experience here! The best I have ever had with any pharmacy actually. So my doctor said she would call in my antibiotics, and not even 10 minutes after I got off the phone with her, I had someone from Strohecker's calling me to let me know my doctor had called in my prescription, and asked when I would want to have them filled and come to get them. So I walked over (I live a 5 minute walk away) and they were ready for me since they had the meds in stock. When I got to the counter and said my name, the woman immediately knew who I was and there wasn't the usual, "well let me go check if those are ready yet" experience. Everything was a breeze. They were also a lot more warm and friendly than my usual experience with, say, Fred Meyer pharmacy techs. Which are also nice, but that bored kind of nice who seem exhausted. read more

Gah! This is the pharmacy that my Fertility Dr. sent my prescription to be filled. I had heard good things about them, so I decided to go ahead and order through them. Unfortunately, I did not have the nearly $5K to order meds on the day THEY received my order from the Dr. Fortunately, I did not have to start my meds for another couple weeks, and was waiting for a check to arrive from the people funding our fertility treatments. I let the pharmacy know what was going on, and yet they called me EVERY SINGLE DAY to get my credit card number. The person that specifically called me was a guy named Chris, he came off as pushy and rude. The first phone call I had with him, I explained the financial situation and he answers with "Well, my cut off time is 3." I asked "Uh, for WHAT?" He replied "For me to ship your meds so you can receive them by tomorrow." I explained (this was my 2nd time explaining to the pharmacy) that it didn't matter bc I didn't need my meds for another 2.5 weeks! He seemed sheepish, and said I could call when I had the money, but then they called everyday, with Chris leaving messages on my phone that said "I need you to call me back right away." Really, dude? My suggestion for them would be to leave a note so they wouldn't have to call and harass their potential customers every single day. Had Chris read the note, or remembered what I had told him, perhaps he would've been less pushy. Long story short: They tote helping people, but they are still a business and if they can make $5K off of you, might as well let them know you want their money, every. single. day. read more

The Worst Customer Service The pharmacy located in Stroheckers market is the perfect example that reminds us, that there are many choices where to have your prescriptions filled. In a time where customer service and price is more important than ever. Mr. Ronald Dulwick who is the owner/pharmacist,goes out of his way to let you know he could care less about your business. After waiting four days to get my eye drops, I inquired what the problem was. He told me he was not filling my prescription any more, because he is loosing money on it.!!! Ironically, his staff has always been very pleasant and nice to the customers but Mr. Dulwick is extremely arrogrant and rude. I live 2 blocks away and have been a customer since 1990 I will never use this pharmacy again. read more

I'm rating this five stars thanks to Tyler whom I believe is the main Pharmacist there. He is GREAT. I visited them multiple times for infertility meds and he was so great each time. I'd never been through anything like this and was nervous about the meds - especially giving myself shots. Tyler always was fantastic; he remembered me visit to visit, answered my questions, always was patient with me, and totally made me feel at ease. While the meds were expensive that certainly wasn't his fault. He always goes out of his way to help me and, if they weren't so far from my house, I'd get all my prescriptions filled here. They even offered to mail prescriptions to me. It turned out I needed additional help with securing some receipts for health insurance reimbursement and to show on my taxes and again Tyler was very helpful getting me what I needed. This entire experience had the potential for being awful and uncomfortable but thanks to Tyler it was anything but. I highly recommend! read more

This pharmacy goes above and beyond in their friendly attitude and assistance. I really can not say enough about how much I appreciate them. Insurance can be such a nightmare to deal with, but with the pharmacy staff's help, we were able to sort out timing on items in order to minimize my out of pocket costs. Their pricing is really good in comparison to many pharmacies, and I appreciate the "mom & pop shop" feel. When I would call to ask questions I felt genuinely heard and understood. Horrible experience. Woman who called about my prescription didn't know my account, spelled my name wrong, had to look up the Rx twice and was generally confused the whole time. She couldn't answer the most basic questions about whether they sell certain products, like pill capsules. She refused to follow the vet's instructions regarding how my pet's pills were to be handled and couldn't even give me a reason why. I don't know if she is just incompetent or new, but she should have been able to provide accurate, professional answers or transfer me to someone who could. I WILL NEVER USE THIS PHARMACY AGAIN. At first I was a little iffy because of the high price of my medication, but after all is said and done, I'd rather deal with a smaller pharmacy with a bit higher pricing, but excellent customer service. Shipping was a bit slow, but that was a USPS issue. They put my prescription in the mail the same day and gave me brief information on how to administer. My medication also came with free syringes, drawing needles, injection needles, and alcohol wipes. Everyone I spoke to was very kind and understand. I will definitely use them in the future for all my compounding pharmacy needs! read more

I went to Strohecker's for years to get my compounded prescription (testosterone). Then recently, after 3 months of taking my medication they called me to say that my prescription could be wrong because 1 of 2 of their compounded lots (from 3 moths ago, remind you) had been contaminated with estrogen (yes, estrogen). They offered no apologies or explanations and abruptly hung up on me once they determined my prescription was not from the messed up lot. Thank god that their mistake wasn't one that could have killed. read more

I am surprised to see the bad reviews as I have only had pleasant experiences with Strohecker's. I have been using them for over 4 years. I recently just had an issue with USPS not delivering my medication and randomly forwarding it back to the pharmacy. They were very nice about it and addressed it, though it wasn't their fault at all. When you choose to utilize a mailing pharmacy service, you choose to deal with the potential risks like lost or late packages. It is not within the pharmacy's ability to control the postal service. Considering how much money I spend at the pharmacy and will continue to spend for the rest of my life, it is nice to know that they will do what they reasonably can in such situations and be pleasant and understanding even if they can't do anything. Some businesses lack all sympathy! Good customer service, even in situations you have no control over really does matter! Keep doing what you all are doing! read more

I used this pharmacy for the past 1.5 years and had no issues. Typically I received my medication and supplies days within having my doctor fax over my script. Recently I has my doctor fax over my script and they promptly called to ask if I wanted my order to be filled/shipped. I called back to ask for my order to be shipped and was told my shipment would be sent out immediately. Day 5 rolls around and no shipment so I give them a call and they state that somehow my order fell through the cracks and will be sent out that day. I then receive my order approx 3 days later with supplies but to find that i've been send 3cc syringes vs. my usual 1cc. I call to see if 1cc syringes can be sent to me at no cost considering now I don't have an accurate method of injecting my medication and am told I can get a discount for the syringes but they will not send me the syringes that they should have sent to me in the first place. You mess up once i'll forgive the situation but then twice doesn't feel too good. I'll be moving on to a pharmacy that wants my business. read more
