I've been to a lot of pharmacies over the years, and unfortunately it's not uncommon to feel like you're just another number. That's why my recent experience at this Walgreens stood out, but also why I feel this review needs to be balanced. We actually transferred our prescriptions here from Safeway a couple of months ago, hoping that a larger pharmacy would be more reliable when it comes to keeping medications in stock. At Safeway, we often found ourselves scrambling to locate another pharmacy because they simply didn't have our medications in stock. Unfortunately, even though we've only been at Walgreens a short time, it has still been a stressful experience. It's very difficult to get through by phone, and there have been multiple times where I've been on hold for 20 minutes only to have the call disconnected. Prescriptions are not always ready when expected, which adds to the stress. We've had moments where we're close to running out of a medication and it's still "in progress," leaving us rushing to the store at the last minute. There also seems to be some kind of disconnect between their fulfillment system and the pharmacy itself. To be fair, this doesn't seem unique to this location. Many pharmacies these days appear to be short staffed and dealing with medication shortages, and it's clear the people working there are doing their best under difficult circumstances. I truly don't believe these issues are the fault of the staff, but rather a reflection of how these companies are being run. That said, the reason I'm giving three stars instead of a lower rating is because of Grant, the pharmacist. He truly went above and beyond to help us with several prescriptions. He was not only knowledgeable, but also incredibly kind and genuinely sympathetic. Instead of rushing through things, he took the time to really understand what we needed and jumped right in to help. It was such a refreshing experience and made a stressful situation so much easier. Grant is absolutely the shining light at this location and honestly the reason we're willing to stick around and hope things improve. His level of care and willingness to help is something you don't come across every day, and we're very grateful for him. read more

if there was an option I would give no stars. My prescriptions from Urgent Care were phoned in this morning. I arrive after 11am to pick them up and was told it would be 2 hours. I said Ok, then 1:00? well no, they would be at lunch then! So then 2:00? aAt 3:30 there was still no text saying that they were ready so I just went down there. Guess what? They weren't ready!! My doctor wanted me to get these meds in my system ASAP - as it was important. So I'm here WAITING for them to be filled - mAubry 20 minutes. Good grief!!! This is on a Sunday too. WALGREENS @ KIRKLAND Parking is available and had their own parking lot, spacious and has accessible parking on the side of the store. It is also shared with Safeway across. Ordered a bunch of print outs online, realized it was way too big for my liking and the guy at the register happily printed me out a new size that was smaller. Normal aisles, has a lot of items at a normal store. Most of the time it's packed where the pharmacy is, and only one cashier is at the front so it might take time if you're there during a rush. We had to switch out of our previous pharmacy (old Bartells/Rite Aid). We tried CVS (a disaster) and now we're at Walgreens. Our first experience with Walgreens is not so good. They do have slightly better customer service. But when we were in line, the waits were significant. We waited about 45 minutes and there was another customer who had waited an hour. It appears their systems are very inefficient and they were understaffed. We're looking into ordering online and receiving our medicines by mail. Maybe GoodRX. read more

I've been a regular customer at this Walgreens for a while, but the level of difficulty getting prescriptions filled has become completely unacceptable and places a huge amount of stress and burden on patients. Every month, I face the same issue: prescriptions are never filled automatically, no matter what they are. The pharmacy will not process them unless you first call or come in -- but you can't get through to anyone by phone. You can try, but you will wait a minimum of 35 minutes (it's usually around 45-55) before being "disconnected". For the past several months, I've had to call multiple times a day, waiting on hold anywhere from 35 to 55 minutes each time, only for the call to be disconnected, or for someone to briefly answer, say "please hold," and then have them hang up/ disconnect the call usually 5-10 minutes later. This isn't a one-time inconvenience -- it's every single month, and it's exhausting. If you are unable to physically drive to the store and wait in person, it's almost impossible to get your medication. The burden and stress this creates for patients -- especially those with regular or critical prescriptions -- is enormous and unacceptable. Tonight alone, I called at 9 p.m. (an hour before closing, after the drive-thru had closed), as it's less busy. I waited on hold for 47 minutes, only for someone to pick up and immediately put me back on hold until the line disconnected when the store closed- screenshot attached. Earlier today, the exact same thing happened after a 45-minute wait. This pattern shows a complete lack of reliability and accountability in pharmacy operations. Patients should not have to beg or chase down their own medications month after month. Walgreens needs to address the staffing, phone, and refill process issues at this location immediately -- it's creating unnecessary stress and barriers to care. read more

Answer your phone!!!!! 80% of your in store and drive through traffic is from people who have to come in to ask a question/manage a prescription fill that could have been handled on the phone! It has been 2 years of ridiculous phone management and being hung up on and never getting someone to pick up and every time I have to drive in and then wait for the completion of the order. Dropped by the Walgreens in Kirkland recently which is located right next to Safeway, which makes parking easy but shared. Inside, it had all the basics you'd expect: pharmacy, photo kiosk, and a decently stocked selection. I didn't notice a public restroom, though I may have overlooked it. Customer service wasn't terrible, but it wasn't warm or helpful either. It felt more transactional than anything else. Overall, it's a passable spot for essentials but don't expect stellar service. I went to the photo department today, arriving around 1:00 pm, there was a lady in the photo department, maybe her name is Rebecca, when I arrived I was told to go to the photo department, so I did, I was forgotten in the photo department and I watched the employee was talking to 3 people who had taken photos previously, she stayed there for a long time completely ignoring me, I have back problems and I stood waiting for her to talk, she noticed that I was watching, a customer came into the store and she offered to help this customer, I had arrived first, then she stalled a little more, the cashier noticed and told her that I was there, and she ignored me once again, after a long time, she took the photo and told me that in 10 minutes the photo would be ready, my back was in a lot of pain. So I went to the supplements session, this lady after 10 minutes, went to where I was and told me that the photo was ready and she told me to get in line to pay, ok I went in the line of 2 people to pay. It was my turn to pay, the cashier went to talk to the lady and she said that the photos were not ready, with my back hurting, I waited for about 10 minutes, the cashier went to check again and asked the lady again, she had left my photos on the computer table, the lady made it clear that she ignored me. It was ridiculous and unprofessional. A 10 minute appointment at most, I was standing for 40 minutes. I ask what is this lady's problem? I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Pharmacy review only. In the past, my doctors would send the prescription to this pharmacy and it would be in my hands in a couple of hours, at most. That was many years ago. Now, it's a slow mess. I'll go for pickup half a day or even a day later (because they trained me to not expect same day prescription fills) and prescription will still not be ready. If I'm lucky, I'll come back in another half a day and pick it up. If not, maybe the day after, or days later. In fact, it doesn't matter how many days later I go. It seems it will never be ready unless I go first and ask for it. Many times they don't even have the meds, and it takes even more days to get them. Funny thing with medicine is that it's most effective the earlier you take it. This is not understood by whoever is running this place, who obviously treats the medicine as if I'm buying cookies for my coffee. read more

My father has had prescriptions filled at the location for years, with good service. Over the last year or so though, there have been several times that orders are only partially filled, or it took much longer than a day to fill. Also, the wait lines at the counter have gotten quite long. Used to be no more than 5 minutes, now sometimes up to 20. Really want to support a local brick-and-mortar, but about ready to move to Amazon or other mail order if they are more dependable. read more

I lived in this area for over 30 years and I frequently visit Walgreens for the excellent customer service however, visiting with this Walgreens last weekend, I've never been treated more disrespectfully, more rude, more verbally, abused by one of the vile managers. I was out of lost words as she continued to be rude and mean she continue to talk crap about me to the customer that she was ringing up right next to me. I made an on-line appointment to get an RSV vaccination, and they listed themselves as having the vaccine available. When I showed up, they didn't have the RSV vaccine, said they were sold out. How could they accept an appointment to administer a vaccine they didn't have? If they had it some time before, how could they not reserve it for the people with whom they'd accepted and confirmed on-line appointments. Turns out, I wasn't the only person who'd made an appointment only to be turned away. To add insult to injury, the staff said they didn't control the appointments, that the corporate web site made appointments whether they had the vaccine or not. They wouldn't let me speak to a manager, or accept the complaint ... they basically just shrugged it off. They didn't accept responsibility for the problem, nor did they seem to think that the company had to acknowledge the mistake, no matter whose fault it was internally. I just got the "it's not my problem" response from the staff, and an indifferent shrug. UGH! What terrible customer service! I will note that I have had reasonable customer service from them in the past, otherwise this would have been a 1-star review. read more

I called the pharmacy to inquire about a refill for a prescription. Knowing they closed at 6, I called at 4:45 pm and expected a bit of a wait. I was on hold for an hour and 10 minutes. At 5:55pm a woman picked up and said what sounded like instructions to a coworker and then hung up on me. I called the regular store and asked to be transferred to to pharmacy as I had just been hung up on after waiting over an hour. The person transferred me at 5:58pm and the phone just rang for 5 minutes before I finally hung up. Absolutely unacceptable behavior when it comes to people dealing with medication. read more

This team is consistently horrible. Long lines, failure to inform patients of prescriptions not being filled, they literally have expired medications and don't realize it... poor customer service on all avenues, rude, dismissive, and I've never seen one of them act like they enjoy their job. read more

There's always a super long wait to get helped and this pharmacy is bad at filling orders in my experience (they were almost a week late on refilling my birth control which you need to take on a regular schedule for it to be effective). I'll be going somewhere else from now on. read more

I've had nothing but good service here, both in the pharmacy and regular check out up front. The pharmacy staff here are always slammed, and I always see customers getting angry, rude, and super impatient. Kindness goes a long way, and the pharmacy staff are not just chilling - I've sat and waited for my script and watched them, and they are multi tasking and doing the best they can. I've brought in new prescriptions to refills, and they've always filled them in a timely manner, called my name if I'm wandering the store, and are always super nice! I like the sales they have on their holiday items after the holiday is over (sometimes things are 70% off!). They also have a decent make up and nails section, and a lot of things to peruse if you're waiting for your prescription. read more

This pharmacy is terrible about filling prescriptions. On two previous occasions they have been unable to find my prescriptions and each time I've placed a prescription there, there was a significant delay before my prescriptions could be filled. Today a staff member called me to say I could pick up one of my medications, when I asked about whether the other three medications sent in by the doctor on the same day and at the same time were also ready she was confused and initially could not locate the other prescriptions. When I mentioned that they were all visible and active on the app, she reported that the app was unreliable and that I needed to have my Dr call in my prescriptions again. She stated that it was likely that the prescriptions were either never sent in or were somehow misplaced, despite the fact that they are active and visible on the Walgreens app. The implication being that the app is not seamlessly integrated into the Walgreens pharmacy database. This isn't the first time this particular situation has occurred at this site. The staff are confused, inefficient and ill prepared to complete the tasks assigned and the app appears to be utter garbage. Hopefully I'll get my blood pressure medication tomorrow. We will see. The pharmacy is a joke. My antibiotics and meds from a week ago are not filled. Get stuck on hold daily for over an hour before I give up. Then there's 7 cars in drive through, then 15 in the store on a Monday at 8pm. This is ridiculous. worst customer service ever. I'm so grateful that I will never go back. UPDATE 2-13-23 PLEASE READ!!! Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse... I've been a customer of Walgreens pharmacy for several years. Each month I have to contact the pharmacy directly to refill one of my meds. The process of reaching the pharmacy staff via phone was INFURIATING. It typically takes an hour or more and multiple attempts to finally get someone to pick up the phone. A few months ago I transferred my scripts to Medly Pharmacy and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was one of the happiest memories of 2022. The Medly staff was always accessible, friendly, and helpful. This morning I called Medly to refill a Rx and was told the pharmacy was acquired by Walgreens and all prescriptions were transferred to the store on NE 85th in Kirkland. I also learned that Walgreens didn't notify any customers of the change, and they only gave Medly staff 2 days notice before they were terminated. Not 2 weeks... 2 days. I also learned that lots of Medly customers were trying to get their prescriptions transferred to a different pharmacy (no surprise) but those pharmacies were unable to reach Walgreens by phone (even less of a surprise). SHAME ON YOU WALGREENS. We rely on you for products and services to support our health, and to make our lives a little easier. But you're failing miserably on all accounts. I have lost all trust in you, I will never do business with you again, and I will do everything I can to help others avoid the anguish I've experienced with you. ******* UPDATE 12-20-22: Just waited 1 hour 14 minutes to speak to a pharmacist only to be disconnected when no one picked up. Can't wait to have my scripts transferred to new pharmacy. Literally going to celebrate never having to deal with this Walgreens again!! ******* Calling to speak to a pharmacist is a futile experience. Almost every time I'm either on hold for a completely unreasonable amount of time (currently 1 hour 23 minutes and waiting), or I'm repeatedly hung up on. Called prescription in three days ahead, advised ready on Sat after 8am. Arrived drive thru at 1:56pm. Waited 30 min still 4th car back. Exited drive thru walked in. Told prescription wasn't ready. Did I get a call? No I was told ready on Sat. I wasn't leaving w/o prescriptions so they need to be ready in 5,min. The last time it took them 7 days to fill a 12 tablet order. The Pharmacist filled the order and gave me a lecture on C/S and they were doing the best they could. I pointed to the Charles Walgreen statement and said they should take it down. I have been in C/S and if I treated my customers as Walgreens does I wouldn't have any. No wonder your stores aren't profitable. Maybe your model should be done after AMAZON. read more

I have used their pharmacy for 15 years but the last year has been terrible. It's understandable that they no longer open 24 hours due to Covid. Although I can't understand why they not only close for an hour lunch break (they don't take lunch before?) but also randomly close the pharmacy early at 4pm (instead of the published hours on their website). I have been in here about 40 times in 8 yrs. Usually, employees look bored but were still capable. Today we ran into MAX, an enthusiastic, motivated, helpful and professional employee who helped my mom and I take some great black and white photos for her company website. He was full of suggestions and made our visit extremely effective. This store has a great supply of makeup and first aid things. Best of all is its 6 am-12 am (rarely close) hours. read more

This place is a mess. Registers weren't working properly which isn't necessarily the fault of staff, but neither staff member communicated effectively with each other about where to ring customers up, so my fiancé and I were running back and forth from each register, being told Register A is frozen and to go to the other one, only to be told that one wasn't working either. Whoever the key holder / manager of the closing staff was really didn't seem to give much of a damn about anything. He then proceeded to allow a customer coming in who asked for a mask, (this is before the mandate was lifted) telling him that he was "fine and to just come in" while everyone else in the store was wearing one? Everything just felt super unorganized and confusing, which is pretty impressive when there's only two registers and associates to get confused by. read more

Walgreens price to fill my prescription for a generic drug was nearly $1000 when other pharmacies could fill the prescription for $17. I attempted to transfer the prescription to another pharmacy. Walgreens refused to transfer the prescription. The only reason given was that it was company policy. I had to go back to my doctor, have the prescription at Walgreens cancelled, and have a new prescription sent to the more reasonable pharmacy. All of this was very inconvenient for me and for the doctor and took a long time to complete. Thank goodness the prescription was not something I needed right away. This incident gives the strong impression that Walgreen is holding hostage medication people need for their health. That seems shameful to me. To make matters worse, when I was ordering the medication, I first attempted to order it online. The Walgreens web site wanted me to provide my credit card to be charged without telling me how much the prescription would cost! We don't have insurance for this. Had I been foolish enough to click submit we'd be out nearly $1000. What kind of a company won't tell you how much something will cost before you buy? I feel like I'm dealing with some sort of criminal organization. Stay far away from Walgreens, for your health. read more

This location is THE WORST!!!! Their pharmacy has the worst costumer service and they are always out of stock or alert me that my prescriptions are ready when they are not! Walgreens isn't going to read this but I really hope they do so they can figure out why this location is so azz. Everything in their pharmacy needs work, from phone holds for an hour(my max is 2 hours) to the unhelpful staff. Everyone just looks like they're over it and ready to clock out. There is only one person out of the 50+ times I've been there who's ever smiled and I wish her the best in a toxic environment. I can consistently bond w random customers just by how horrible it's ran. Here is an example of what happened to me this week. I called for my prescription on Tuesday and they said it would be finished on Wednesday. Today is Friday I get a call saying it's delayed until Monday. How is the estimate so off and even still why did it take so long to notify? WE'RE TALKING ABOUT MEDICATIONS, NOT SOMETHING SMALL LIKE FOOD SERVICE.
