this is the worst pharmacy i've ever been to. first of all, the wait time is ridiculous. plan on spending 30 minutes just waiting in line. second, the staff are incompetent and unfriendly. they often find any excuse to not dispense your medication. the staff are always unable to do anything on their own. they always need to have multiple people huddled around one computer screen. also be prepared for dirty looks from the staff depending on what medication you pick up. i transferred everything to the CVS across the street. i expect this walgreens to make it difficult. read more

Terrible Pharmacy customer service. Today, my doctor called in a prescription for an antibiotic. To make sure I could receive the prescription that afternoon, I called the pharmacy directly and asked when it might be ready. She said 3 -4 hours (?) which would make it about 5:00. At 6:45 I called and asked the status and was told it would be another hour. As I had to drive to S. Calif early the next day, I sat on hold for 34 minutes to ask them to please transfer the prescription to Monrovia so I could pick it up down there tomorrow morning. At that time, I was told, they couldn't do that. They weren't "allowed" to do that. "Just go in and give them your date of birth." Worst -- never again. read more

This Pharmacy used to be so good. They are now super slow and you have to wait in line for 30 mins or more just to pick up a prescription. My husband walked in his hard copy prescription and when we went back to pick up they had no record of his prescription in the system. One of the employees found his prescription tossed in the recycle bin without it being scanned into the system to be filled. The employee who found the prescription was very apologetic and made sure the prescription was filled right away. However , we still had to wait another 20 to 30 mins. Disappointed read more

I have also been called informing me prescription is ready but find upon arrival they only had "Five" pills available and that I need to come back another day for the balance of my order. Gene is the only nice man there! Everyone seems grumpy and they dont like thier jobs. I called and ask if I could ride my electric bike through the drive-thru. It is a form of transportation for me. Whomever i talk to said yes, no problem. Once i got there, i sat outside for 15 minutes, ringing the bell. The staff ignored me. Finally, when the pharmacist came to the window - I got rudely reprimanded that i cant ride my e-bike through. Feeling confused, I explained that I called and asked. Maybe posting a sign saying no ebikes allowed and a freindly smile to greet customers would be helpful and polite. read more

This 1 measly star is for the pharmacy. DO NOT FILL PRESCRIPTIONS HERE. Why does it always take 40+ minutes to get my prescription. ESPECIALLY when there is only one other person in line and 5 employees working. This isn't a one time thing, it's everyday, anytime of the day, all day. They're system is obviously not working. This is a good drug store in Goleta. It's always very clean, well-lit, and the aisles appear to be fully stocked and free of clutter. The interior is reminiscent of most other Walgreens stores I've been to; however, I feel that the folks at the cash register really add the personal touch I've come to love. As there are only two front cash registers, the lines can tend to build up quick. However, I feel that the staff is cognizant of this and makes an effort to pull customers to the photo or beauty supply areas, which also appear to double as cashier stations. Their POS system seems to be a step above the competitors, with an easy-to-use and quick card machine. Most of the cashiers I've dealt with appear to be knowledgeable and personable - it doesn't seem as though they are bored or listless. I've noticed that Shirley, in particular, exhibits wonderful customer service at the register. She is upbeat, friendly, and prompt. She greets me with a smile and engages in friendly conversation during our brief transactions. If all cashiers were as great as her, then the world would be a better place. The individual employees are nice enough and you get the impression that they are doing the best they can under VERY STRESSFUL circumstances! To get my photos done here took over 4 days when they were supposed to be 1 hour photo. They blamed my large order. I received two emails saying my order was ready and both times I came they weren't. They said when they click to print the photos it automatically sends out an email saying they are ready when sometimes they aren't. The people don't know what they are doing in here and aren't very professional. read more

There is only one near the Santa Barbara population, so as you can image the pharmacy at this store is always busy. Non-the-less, they have the most attentive and kind pharmacists that manage to keep up with the busy work load. The store offers a vast variety of items, but at the usual Santa Barbara inflated price. The drive through is convenient for picking up prescriptions, but does however take a long time. For the only Walgreens in Santa Barbara, this store stands up well to the population of Santa Barbara. I recommend all to stop on by and give this place a try. read more

I waited in line for approximately 10 minutes and the cashier decided he didn't want to ring up my cart full of items. He called the manager and after another 5 minutes the manager 'Laquita' Cale's me over to photo. I don't know how she is the manager since she is very rude and acts annoyed to be doing her job. Disappointing for sure since I am a regular at this store and always try to treat workers in the service industry with respect and kindness as a customer. Same should be expected of their staff. There are a handful of entitled employees at this location who seem 'put out' by simply doing their job. Probably filters down from managers such as Laquita. read more

Use their pharmacy only if you don't value your time. You routinely have to wait 20-40 minutes just to pick up a refill. Unlike CVS, they typically have only one person helping customers (the rest of them are filling prescriptions or entering data into a computer). I waited just under an hour (58 minutes to be exact), after being told it would take 20 minutes to pull the pre-packaged prescription down from the shelf, and that was only after I called them on my phone from the waiting area and asked them to bring the box - which I could see - up to the register. UPDATE: I had enrolled in their automatic refill program. It worked fine, once. The next time, I got a voicemail saying, "Your prescriptions will be ready for pickup next week. Call if you have any questions." I figured, "OK, great." Two days later, I realized that I only had enough of one Rx to last me another day and that Walgreens should have auto-refilled my prescription last week, not next week! I asked the pharmacist how a businenational chain can screw up something as fundamental and basic as this; he shrugged and said, in effect, "Not my department." So, yeah, CVS can be frustrating, but they are infinitely better than Walgreens. If you still want to get your prescriptions at Walgreens, don't say you weren't warned. UPDATE: They recently called us and asked if we wanted automatic refills on our prescriptions. We said yes. (Duh...) Well, I recently ran out of one, and when I called, was asked, "Do you want to refill that?" (So much for automatic refill.) A couple of weeks later, my wife gets a call: "Your prescriptions are ready." She goes to pick them up and, guess what, they're not ready. The next time she gets an automated call saying they're ready, she knows better and calls and speaks to a human being, who says, "Sorry! They're not filled yet, but will be by 5:00 PM." My wife goes there at noon the next day and they're still not ready. Walgreens is one of the biggest drug chains in the US; they're not a mom-and-pop operation. How they eff this stuff up over and over again is a mystery to me. (We're stuck there -our insurance allows us to change pharmacies once/year - but we're out of there come January 1. UPDATE #2: I'm supposed to have automatic refills for some critical drugs. I get a robocall from them saying "Your prescriptions will be ready for pickup next week." Well, it's now next week, I've run out of my prescriptions and they still haven't filled it. I've lived all over the country and have dealt with a multitude of different pharmacies, including Walgreens in other states. THIS IS, BY FAR, THE WORST PHARMACY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. My wife dropped off a prescription for my son at around 12:30pm today. She double checked to ask if it was chewable and the employee looked it up and confirmed that it was and that it would be ready by 3pm the same day. We went at about 4:30pm to pick it up and they had no record of the prescription being dropped off. After looking around the computer area, the clerk found the prescription laying on the desk. He picked it up and said, "Oh yeah, we're out of stock on this." Why were we never notified in the 4 hours between dropping it off and picking it up? Why wasn't the availability checked upon drop off? If the clerk took the time to look it up to make sure it was "chewable," then why did he not check if it was in stock? It is inexcusable that, when a prescription is out of stock or otherwise unable to be filled, the pharmacy does NOTHING to notify the customer who is waiting for their medication. The customer service at this pharmacy has become deplorable and I'm actually considering returning to CVS. read more

The woman I spoke with said I was taking up her time; taking time away from her day to get the prescription moved over to there. Wow! Apparently they had questions for the doctor, but by 6:00 they hadn't bothered to contact the doctor and then decided that faxing the doctor was the best course of action. My mother dropped off a prescription yesterday and I came today to pick it up. I have been waiting for FOURTY minutes. No one has spoken to me since I sat down 35 minutes ago. I've never been to a better pharmacy. For years I went to Kmart where I got a lot of attitude and long waits. There is never a long line (they have more than one person at the window), and my prescriptions are always ready. Even when I walk in with a prescription and they tell me it will be 20 minutes to fill the prescription, it is done in a shorter time. The employees in the pharmacy are always friendly. Better yet, Walgreens now does free delivery of regular prescriptions. I'm loving this service. But for any drop in prescriptions, I'll definitely be going to this Walgreens. This is easily the slowest pharmacy I have ever seen. They have a drive up, but in my various experiences with this pharmacy, it is a minimum of a 5-minute wait if you are the only car in line. If there are other cars, I've waited up to 20 minutes for my turn. Want to call and get information on your prescriptions? Prepare to spend time trying to get through - anywhere from five minutes to thirty minutes or more. As I write this review, I've been waiting to speak to someone in the pharmacy for 20 minutes - and the automated system says there are two callers ahead of me. Going inside the pharmacy to drop off prescriptions, you end up in the same long line as the people in line picking up prescriptions. As we drove up North, we stopped in Walgreens in Goleta, Ca. We needed to get a prescription refilled. We went through the drive through. The lady said, it would be at least two hours. Come back later. We said, that's ridiculous. She said, if you come inside it would be 30 minutes ? We ended up waiting at least one hour. The lady (Anna) we talked with for the refill, didn't know what she was doing. I think she was an assistant. Worst part was she was overwhelmed and "rude". The waiting area is by the pharmacy door. Which they kept slamming as the pharmacists walked in and out of. It shook the area, it's was so loud. They could care less. The men's bathroom, water all over the floor. Sink or urinal had over flowed. They don't even deserve one star. Go to any Walgreens, except this one. read more

I have been going to this pharmacy for about over 1 year and some pharmacy staff tend to lie and say they have not received the doctors prescription order when they have receive it ! and the Pharmacy staff sometimes don't have the medication on stock they lie and say the doctors haven't send the prescription in when the pharmacy has to just order the medication and be honest with the customer that they don't have it in stock, all they have to do is order it. I had this happened to me on a regular basis specially after I have seen my doctor send the prescription over to them. Even though this is a smaller store, they have a pretty good selection of items. Mostly, we shop here for toiletries and the occasional sale item from the weekly ad. Every employee that we've talked to has been extremely nice and helpful. The one thing about this store is that they have one female employee who wears too much perfume and doesn't realize it. When she checked us out one time, the items that we bought and the bag they were put in reeked of perfume, and we had to air them out for a few days after we got home. This makes us very hesitant to shop at this store, and if we do, we always try to stay as far away from the perfume smell as possible. read more

Useless Pharmacy and employees. Dropped off my prescription, they told me it would be an hour. Everything was good until I went to pick it up. I had explained to the them that I had tri-care when I dropped off the prescription, upon picking up my prescription 20 minutes past the time it was supposed be ready, they told me "ohhhh we don't take tri-care". This store has such incredible customer service. I recently transferred my prescription there after CVS didn't bother to tell me until the day I needed it that they no longer carried it - and then told me "good luck finding it anywhere else." I called Walgreens and they had it ready for me that day, and told me they have no problem getting it - its a common prescription! Each time I've gone in there the staff is helpful, friendly and warm. I went tonight, and the man at the pharmacy even apologized for the line while I was still waiting - I didn't mind waiting anyhow. Plus, the prices on everyday items are way less expensive then CVS. After a long and really bad day today, I can honestly say the friendly staff at Walgreens turned my day around and made me a lot happier then I was. This is a great store, and I will use them for all my rx needs as well as general shopping from now on. Thank you for treating me like I matter. Its appreciated. read more

Of the three of them, I would recommend this Walgreen's because the other two suffer from incompetent checkers and obscene waits in the checkout line. You could not pay me to use this pharmacy. I lived two blocks away and dropped off a prescription for several medications including insulin and syringes right after seeing my physician. Those two items were on their own separate prescription. They refused to fill any of my prescriptions as one was a low level controlled medication until they heard back from my doctor as I was a new client here. They also refused to fill any of the other meds until they heard back, and by the time the tech finally saw them my doctor's office was closed. I asked they call my former pharmacy across town to verify I've been on my medications for years and barring that would they fill my insulin and syringes as I was having serious new high sugars and needed my new form of insulin. When they refused even this I asked for my prescriptions so I could take them across town to my old pharmacy. They said they would but has written on them information about not filling them. Not on just the controlled substance but on the insulin and syringes as well! Finally, I called the physician on call to see if I could at least get my insulin approved. He said Walgreens is known for this and asked if I was still there. He asked me to hand my phone to the pharmacist in charge. After reaming them out for holding my prescriptions hostage he approved them all. Only then did the pharmacist tell me they didn't have enough of one of my meds, and none of my type of syringes and they are now backed up an hour. Although this wasn't yesterday I've heard they have only gotten worse. Avoid at all costs! read more

I've contemplated long and hard before leaving this review. Liza, the pharmacist, has once again decided to not give me my medication, on a Friday. It is a narcotic medication, prescribed by my physician, paid for by my insurance, and she has admitted that when I spoke with her at 3, and she told me it would be ready at 7, that she needed to speak with my physician regarding giving it to me today instead of Monday. Now that he is no longer in the office, and it's the evening, and the weekend, AND a holiday, I will not be getting my medications, because Liza feels My physician wasn't clear enough in his message when he said to issue me more medication. I've never had any other issues with any other pharmacist at Walgreens except for her. Now, I've been told all day, that my medications would be ready by 1, yet at 3 they still weren't, and at 3, she said 7, and now well.... It's going to be the 1st. I will pick up my medications on the first, and I will never do business here again, and I don't recommend that anyone else does either. Sad, because I used this pharmacy for my entire family and for all of my monthly medications as well. Id only go here, If you have the patience of a saint, and don't really need your medications when your doctor prescribes them. Sad truth. read more

Take your prescriptions somewhere else. I actually enjoy my service at other Walgreens in the Los Angeles area, which is the only reason I've kept up with this one. I have a regular prescription to fill so it's nice to have a one stop shop. However, this place really makes me re-think this. I have had twice that my prescription has been ready, with the rest (3 per month for a year and a half) I have to wait. I always call it in, so that I can set up a pick up time, I started giving them an hour after my pick up time before going in, when it first started happening. Then I started giving them 2 hours, each and every time they say "It's not quite ready". There have been other times where the recording took my prescription and after I went in to pick it up, I'm told "We need your Dr.'s Approval" when I asked why no one contacted me before my pick up time I was told there should have been an automated message. I've heard that excuse 5 times, never once have I received a message. Slow service, an uncaring attitude towards bad service, seriously go elsewhere. read more
