I haven't been inside the store besides to go to the pharmacy, but being used to getting my prescriptions filled at different Walgreens locations and usually always being satisfied, I come to this one and always end up asking myself why I continue to come to this location. When a prescription is said to be ready in two hours, typically I assume to add at least an extra hour on in case of any backups or whatever. At this Walgreens, I usually have to add on a whole day or two until it is ready. It would be different if they would notify me when I drop it off or give me a call to let me know they're backed up and apologize, but essentially having to use a guess-and-check method to figure out when it is ready is obnoxiously aggravating. Why they even have a drive-thru is beyond me. Having to wait 3 minutes for any one to even approach the window seems to defeat the purpose of being convenient in any sense. Not even an "I'll be with you in a moment" or notifying your presence. A sign that says "get your lazy butt out of your car and come inside" would make me feel better than sitting there being blatantly ignored. I don't know if it is staffing issues or maybe just ignorance of customer service that the company prides themselves on, but whatever it is I hope they get it figured out soon....CVS is just across the street......... read more

They just closed the drive thru "temporarily" and seem to have reduced pharmacy hours as well. Not sure what is going on over there but I am thinking about going elsewhere. Walgreens if you are paying attention - you are about to start losing business read more

If you are looking to triple your drug costs, this is the place. My doctor ordered 30 pills, they provided 10 at the full price without discussing with me. When I went back, after calling to confirm they would provide the additional 20, they said they only had 10 on hand - all this after having waited 45 minutes for something that was confirmed ready. At check-out, they again charged full price for 30 pills. When I asked why I would pay again when they messed up the order, the reply was, "that's your co-pay." When I again said that it was due to an error on their part, same response. I confirmed that I would again be charged when I picked up the next 10. Nice way to increase your profits, charge full price and provide only 1/3 of the order. Good thing they aren't a tire store. Total rip-off. read more

My boyfriend drove me on Tuesday after leaving the ER to get my Rx filled. We went through drop off since I couldn't get out of the car. I had given the pharmacist my medical card and DL along with the Rx. When asked, I told him my address was on my DL, which seemed to confuse him because it took him quite a while to begin entering my info into the computer. When I came back today the wait for someone to come to the drive thru window was almost 10 mins without any acknowledgement of my presence. I went to the grocery store and to get gas and came back over half an hour later to pick up the Rx to which the woman said, in a rather rude tone, it had just been dropped off 10 mins ago so it wasn't ready. I have no clue what they did with my Rx for that other 20+ mins. I understand they get busy but they sure don't seem to have their act together and could use some lessons in customer service. CVS is right across the street and will probably be my new pharmacy going forward. read more

I've had nothing but good experiences at Walgreens pharmacy. The wait time has never been too long, they always had my medication in stock, and there's never a long line. About 99% of the time I was in and out within a reasonable time. I would like to add that the last time I used this pharmacy was about a year and a half ago due to not needing to be on my prescription meds anymore. read more

My 11-year old son had an allergy attack at school despite taking a Claritin. I called Walgreens to find out what I could give him with Claritin and wouldn't make him drowsy. After holding for 17 minutes the pharmacist quickly told me Sudafed and to pick it up at the Pharmacy counter with my ID. A 17 minute hold for a 7 second answer. So I raced to Walgreens waited forever in line with a squirmy 2-year old to pick up 1 non-prescription medication. Finally get to the counter and am sent to a different line. I waited in the consultation line for some time when the pharmacist tells me to pick it up at the counter I came from. So I go back in line AGAIN and wait some more for them to finally tell me that they are all out and try someplace else. If the pharmacist when I called would have thought to check to make sure they had it when I called it would have saved me at least half an hour of standing around waiting and worrying about my son. I should have asked for them to check but she was so curt on the phone that I didn't want to take a second more of her time. I drove across the street to CVS waited in one line and had my medicine and was out the door within five minutes. To say I was frustrated is an understatement. I will not go back to Walgreens again. read more

Walgreens is horrible. They didn't have the decency to call me to tell me that they no longer contract with Athem Blue Cross HMO. They wanted $80 for a medication that should normally be covered under our HMO plan. I'm happy to take my business to CVS and will never use Walgreens again. The drive through is a joke too. Last time I tried drive through they made me come inside and wait for 45 minutes with a sick infant. read more

When my doctor's office tried to call in my prescription they could not get threw so they left a voice mail. When I arrived to pick up my prescription of course they could not find it. The gentleman at the counter said to sit down and we will find your prescription order. After 4- 5 times of asking for my name and telling me that they were working on my prescription I left after two hours with no prescription. read more

Came with my boyfriend here after he had dental surgery. The doctor called in his prescription at 11AM, we called asking when it would be ready around 1 they said it would be ready in a couple of hours. So we went to pick up the medication at 4:30. And it still wasn't not ready. That wouldn't have been such a big problem but the guy helping us was really rude. And while waiting I witnessed how rude he was to several other people waiting for their prescriptions. Specially to an older lady who apparently was suppose to have her medication on Tuesday and now was told she'd have to wait until Monday after waiting at Walgreens for over an hour. They were completely unapologetic to all of the costumers complaining and insensitive to those who clearly needed their medication. Save yourself the trouble and fill up all your prescriptions at Costco, you have to be a member to use the pharmacy by the way. read more

easily slowest pharmacy I've ever experienced. they tell you an absurdly lengthy wait time and then aren't even ready in that time. when you drop a prescription off a week in advance and go to pick it up, they haven't even started and must reprocess. I am extremely happy that this will be my last time using this pharmacy. read more

Very poorly-run pharmacy. I went to several Walgreens pharmacies in San Francisco for many years, and they ran like clockwork. I was shocked when I moved here to SB to find that the Goleta Walgreens pharmacy: Doesn't answer their phone (a pharmacy? really?) or requires up to 10 minute hold times, sometimes takes days to refill a prescription, very long wait times to pick up once you are there, filling only one of the two prescriptions you called in but not both, so you (and everyone behind you) has to wait while they find the missed prescription and fill it. Then when you go to pay, the credit card terminal isn't funtioning so they close you out of that one and move you over to another terminal. Finally on several occasions my number of refills on my medicstion has jumped up and down, not coinciding with what my doctor prescribed. These are not singular occurances, but business as usual at the Goleta Walgreens. read more

Terrible for photos. I spent the time to upload to their website and sent it in to have processed. It says usually an hour but I had a lot of prints some bigger than 4x6 so the time to pick up was in the evening (submitted before noon). No problem no biggie. I drove all the way out there grabbed a few items and got in line at the photo counter. There was an employee purchasing personal items and redeeming coupons for a few minutes before somebody actually asked me if they could help me. When I gave them my name the clerk said "oh we don't have those printed. Somebody called you earlier, we need the photography release." I was so irritated as I DID NOT receive any phone calls and the clerk and other employee in line were very condescending. (this also included another employee who was in "street clothes" not working) Not only did I feel stupid for not knowing I needed the release I didn't have my prints!!! Since it was so late in the evening it took me a while to get a hold of the photographer. I was told I needed to fax the release in. So when I called the store after I faxed it in to make sure they got it I was put on hold for over 5 minutes. Then when they finally responded the woman told me "We can't get a fax HERE. The fax is in the pharmacy and they are closed. They don't open until 10am." SO now I haveta make ANOTHER trip to drop off the stupid release in person so they can start my processing. If it weren't for the deal they were offering on 10 cent prints I wouldn't even bother. read more

I wish this was a reliable pharmacy--it's close to my house and has a drivethrough window. My son has major health issues and has been on as many as 14 meds at one time. I dropped off a batch yesterday and was told they'd be ready by 5. Gave them until 8pm and was told to come back 15 minutes later. Came back 30 minutes later to find that they hadn't even started. Went in the next day to sort things out (after my son had missed some doses) and discovered that the basic calling around that needed to be done with insurance cos and drs wasn't done. I realize our situation is complicated, but they could have called within an hour of the initial dropoff to inform us of the complexity instead of costing us 4 trips and some missed doses. The pharmacist really didn't seem to take any responsibility for any of it. They didn't seem to grasp that this was for a patient with a severe medical condition--if you need film or a candy bar, this place is OK, but I wouldn't trust them with any significant medical issues. read more
