I've been helping a friend with kidney disease by picking up his medicine at Walgreens. As you can imagine he takes about 13 meds. Hes been getting a bunch he doesn't take anymore, we've been trying to get his med list updated. So I take the unused meds back, and accidentally included ones he takes. Pharmacy only review, the rest of the store is just fine. So I called the nurse line on my insurance card with a possible drug interaction question as I had just gulped down a supplement with sulfur and I'm allergic to sulfa antibiotics, she said "Call your pharmacist" which is this Walgreens. That call to the nurse took about a minute. I've been on hold, on a Sunday afternoon with empty streets in a small rural town, for 21 minutes. I've been the "next call to be answered" for all 21 of them. I could have driven over and asked in person. Determined to wait it out to get the name of the answering pharmacist. Obviously, I'm not having an allergic reaction.... 26 minutes... calling with my cell as well now... on hold.... there is one call ahead of me.... yeah, me. 30 minutes.... 34 minutes.... A guy named Danny answered, sounded tired. They were at lunch. I was unaware the pharmacy closed at 2:00 on Sundays for lunch. Not the first time they have chosen to ignore phone calls, just go stand in line to fill a prescription, witness it for yourself. Good job, Walgreens. read more

This Walgreens was good at some point but then it became known to me as a "ghetto" Walgreens. Most of the people that shop in here look homeless or look like they are on drugs. The staff here usually don't say much and aren't very friendly. There are the occasionally really nice people that will great you and talk to you. As far as the store location, it's not in a bad area, right of the freeway, across from a shell gas station. The parking lot here is huge! So no problem there. As far as the store itself, it is not as big, but still had quite a bit of inventory. Not my first pick to go to this Walgreens, but if I have to for last minute - then I will. read more

I've been going to this Walgreens for years 16 years to be exact as a customer. I came in yesterday to have a prescription filled through my workers comp doctor. The girl that was behind the counter was rude and was telling me she needed me to get information about a prescription card. I never received a prescription card or any information about one as the injury just occurred. I asked her if she could call my doctor to get the claim number and she said I should already know it. For that I feel like I shouldn't go back there. The lines to pick up a prescription is usually long but not as long as the drive through. read more

Zero stars? I was trying to get a picture taken and the man on the photo service was snapping its fingers at me while I asked him some questions. After I asked the price I didn't have my wallet and as I asked asked my brother to let me borrow money the man in the photo service said "stop wasting my time". I had to leave since I can't tolerate such disrespect when I aM trying to purchase a service. read more

It has been five days since my oral surgeon (and MD) submitted three prescriptions to this pharmacy for an upcoming molar extraction. After five days they still have not filled two of them. The only one they did was for a few tablets for pain , and they wouldn't give it to me. After keeping me waiting for 15 minutes, the lady (obviously managerial, NOT the good and considerate regular staff) refused to give it to me implying I had gone to "all these doctors" to wheedle narcotics prescriptions out of them. Demanding to know my DOB (OK) and address (OK) she stated that the "dentist" had put in something different. The oral surgeon's office confirmed the DOB and address were correct and were floored that they hadn't even given me the other two. Avoid this pharmacy at the risk of insults and endless delays. No stars, or at most 1/2 of one. read more

I bought milk 3 days a go that will expire Jun 25th, it was spoiled today. I don't appreciate that at all.

Pharmacy not so great. Tried to get a prescription filled there today, they didn't have that drug in stock, said it would take 5 business days to get!!! I called a couple of other Walgreens in the area, same story. I went to Costco, 3 days drug will be there! Costco was so helpful. Walgreens could have checked a few stores for me. The staff at this Walgreens has been nothing but accommodating, understanding and compassionate. Whenever there's an issue, they follow up, unlike our mail order pharmacy that we have to use for certain maintenance drugs. They have been so nice and considerate. Why all the hatred? I've always received pleasant service, especially from the manager Irene who gets mad respect from me because whenever I come here she's running around the store making everything work! I came here for a receipt-less return after a Richmond store turned me away. I am used to waiting for prescriptions no matter where I go, including at the hospital so the fact that I always have to wait when I come here is expected. At least they have a drive through so I don't have to drag my kids out of the car! read more

I have been going to this pharmacy for awhile to get prescriptions filled. This past week I had my doc send over a scrip. The call that it was ready came through. Sunday afternoon I came by around 1:30 to pick it up, but the pharmacy was closed. No problem, I thought, and came back Monday evening after work. Closed again. I called them this morning, and after being on hold for more than ten minutes, someone answered who said they could not guarantee they would be open after I get off work this evening because they have a staffing problem. I get it, but their staffing problem is not my problem. Called my doc and had the scrip sent to a different pharmacy. I'm done with these folks, and you should consider going elsewhere until they get their management act together. read more

LOVE the people here at the pharmacy! I've been coming here for years and have always been pleased. Recently, I've had some insurance issues which Walgreens alerted me to. They've been so helpful in trying to figure out and fix the problem, Amanda was amazing and made it possible for me to refill my prescription. To some people this may seem minor, but with everything else in life going on at full speed, it's nice to know you have people you can count on to take care of something so important. Really, with minimal effort on my part. Thank you! I would have given 5 stars, but sometimes the wait at the drive up is ridiculous. read more

This location is very slow. They only have one cashier working every time I come. It's like they grab your items in slow motion. Also the shelves are always bare and no one on the floor to help if you need it. read more

Passport service review Needed to update my passport. Quick in and out. Lady who took my photo allowed me to view my picture before printed. If the picture isn't accepted at the passport agency, if you kept your receipt they allow you to rephotograph. But they make sure it's good the first time around by following policy from the start. read more

I really want to thank all the front line folks in the pharmacy who are there for us in these challenging days, despite the exposure they may risk. I've been going to this pharmacy for many years and have always found staff to be friendly, cordial and competent. Yes there's often a wait, as they need more staff, but that's not the fault of the person who engages you at the counter. And if you can come at non-peak times you'll find no line. I'm actually amazed that staff keep their cool under so much pressure, and in the face of people who are justifiably upset when there is a problem with filling a prescription. The systems of medical insurance and drug coverage can be a mess.. but again not the fault of the person at the counter, trying to help you get what you need. If you have the access and ability to use the Walgreens app to set up and renew your prescriptions, it works like a charm. And if you really want to avoid the wait, you can set up your prescriptions to be delivered by Fed-Ex. It takes some effort on our part to figure out how to make these systems work (or don't work). Hooray for the staff who problem-solve all day long to do that for us. And Thanks Ed! read more

The people in this pharmacy have horrible attitudes and give poor customer service. On 12/23/2018, I pulled up to the drive through to pick up a prescription at 10:10 AM. I could see nobody anywhere including no people on the other side of the pharmacy counter waiting, I ring the bell and a woman says "we will be right with you", 5 minutes go by and I ring again, I get the same response. I ring again and they answer the phone and hang up and nobody comes to the window, now I see her helping people on the other side so I knocked on the glass. She comes over and ate that I have to wait my turn because 3 other people are in front of me. She was very rude when I said that I have been here longer and nobody was in front of me. Then walks away so I knock on the glass again and the pharmacist helps and apologized. I told the pharmacist that I expected an apology from the woman that was rude to me. That woman comes over and picks up the phone and says I'm sorry and hangs up al the while looking at me for a while with a big smirk on her face. I would rather drive to Rite Aid in Orinda than let them have by business any longer. read more

Went in to Pharmacy yesterday, got help from Alejandra, She was great!!! I was having trouble with my insurance, but his Alejandra's help I was able to get the medication I needed. She went above and beyond, she provided information, she waited patiently with me until my insurance cleared my information, she updated my information on their system and corrected the issue. Thank you Alejandra for all your help,because of people like you is why I'm still using your company as my pharmacy to go to. read more

This Walgreens has the basic essentials and was clean and orderly. I don't normally shop in this area so I don't know much about the area but the street was busy and the surrounding businesses not all that great though. read more

1 star because you cannot give zero stars - If you care about the health and welfare of your family or yourself do not get your prescriptions filled here. Never have we experienced the level of incompetence in a pharmacy. There have been instances of wrong medications being disbursed - we've gotten old dosages refilled and even received someone else's meds (sorry Ms. Milligan). If you try calling, good luck. No matter what time you call there will be one person ahead of you and it takes a minimum of 45 minutes for the phone to be answered. For shits and giggles we called on 2 phones and there was still 1 call ahead of us, what a joke. Complaints go in one ear and out the other. Looking at the other reviews here it seems that this is just business as usual. We've now transferred out of this mess and will never return. I suggest everyone do the same. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. The level of customer service or lack there of is truly frustrating and mind boggling. I've waited on hold for close to an hour just to be hung up on. I've waited in line for well over an hour. More than once I've showed up during regular business hours just to find out the pharmacy has decided to take an unscheduled lunch break and are closed. Numerous times I've been promise prescriptions to be ready by a certain time only to find out they haven't been touched and I have to come back. And unfortunately this is just the tip of the iceberg regarding their unprofessionalism and lack of customer service. I've finally got around to figuring out mail order pharmacy with my insurance (which ends up saving me tons) and could not be happier. I strongly recommend those with recurring prescriptions do the same and avoid dealing with this business. read more

Once again Walgreens pharmacy fails to do their job. I had a prescription sent in from my Doctor back on the 6th of June. I received an automated message that there was a delay. Typical every time I need a prescription. I called and got some smart alec on the phone after waiting over 30 minutes telling me that I have to get my Doctor to call and see if the prescription could be filled early. It wasn't early. The guy on the phone was very hard to understand and didn't bother to try and work with me. This happens ever time I need a prescription to be filled no matter which Walgreens I use. Bad Pharmacy! I've come to this pharmacy several times and every time there is some kind of hang up. One particular incident I needed to pick up a prescription and they kept feeding me excuses as to why I couldn't pick up the medication. First it was that I hadn't paid my monthly health insurance, then it was because there wasn't enough lapse in time between my prescriptions (from my doctor) and so the insurance wouldn't cover anything until the 11th. Ok so I wait a week and call on the 11th, they said come pick up at 11:30am. Then I get a text message that my prescription won't be ready. I try calling back five times as they are busy, finally a pharmacist answers and says they don't have the medication in stock and that I would have to wait two more days... If they knew that I would be picking up the meds wouldn't you order them for the 11th? ...Worst pharmacy in the world read more

Nice people Terrible service. Often have to return twice for prescriptions they say are ready. Have to confirm they're there days in advance- ie wait on the phone forever. This place is understaffed. Capitalism at its worst. All I can say is- now that the mom and pop option is gone- this may be the best of BAD choices read more

This is a large, well located walgreens that generally is well stocked with plenty of parking. Why this walegreens gets two stars - 1. Poor customer service. There always seems to be a huge line at the checkout and as someone who has worked in customer service at a store like Walgreens I know workers should be calling for another worker to open up the next check stand when there are 2 or more customers waiting in line to check out. This never happens. I literally walked out of the store earlier this week because a woman was getting several items with a rain check and there were five people in line behind me and one customer in front of me. A co worker of the person working a cashier walked right up to the check stand ignored all the customers in line and then went back to stocking when she could have opened up the other check stand - nor did the obviously new cashier call for someone to open the second check stand. I have yet to have anyone who works at Walgreens 1. Take me to an item 2. Greet me as I am entering or walking around the store either. 2. Wait times at the Pharmacy. It doesn't matter if you go inside or you pull up to the drive through window this pharmacy is ALWAYS backed up. You will always wait at least 10 - 15 minutes to get your prescription if not more.. which is a BAD thing when like me your juggling a small infant. Enough said. If I could I would go instead to the CVS in Orinda to get my prescriptions filled but I can't so I am suck with Blah walgreens of leftoverville aka El Sobrante. read more

I was in the drive thru to pick up my mom's meds. There were two cars in front of me and I had already been waiting for 30 minutes. The service walking inside to get meds is just as bad. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Trying to fill a prescription here is like walking into the Twilight Zone. You see 5 employees in the pharmacy area, back at the bench, but not a single customer is being helped. No "welcome, we'll be right with you". No acknowledgment. Kind of like robots that look human, but have zero actual training. Come to think of it, I've never actually seen someone walk away with their filled Rx. 99% of the time, the robot...errr.....clerk helping you has no idea how to fill your order. Customer after customer is told to wait, or that they'll need to come back, or some other point of confusion that serves to make sure their order is not filled on that visit. Tonight, 3 of us (the only 3 customers in the pharmacy area - correction: the only 3 customers in the store) waited in line for over 25 minutes before the first one of us was called to the counter. That's right, all 5 employees in the back, including Manager Paul Johnson (who's photo is proudly displayed on the wall) opted to busily fill prescriptions for people who were nowhere near the store, while actual humans waited for over 25 minutes in silence. Once up there, I was told that my Rx wasn't ready yet. Seriously? I called it in 3 days ago and it's not ready? Of course it's not. Because if it were, that would indicate a functioning pharmacy - which this is not. Every time I come in here, I have high hopes of doing additional shopping, but the hour long wait at the pharmacy sucks all remaining life out of me such that I just need to go home without my needed items. Thankfully, I've figured out a solution: I switched to Kaiser. read more

Honestly the WORST Walgreens you can go to!! Save your time and go to another location! First of all, this Walgreens doesn't support/honor their coupons. I went into this location and was wrongly charged for items that were CLEARLY stated were valid online and IN-STORE. The "manager" basically rolled her eyes at me and didn't attempt to accommodate the situation. I love shopping at Walgreens but this location is a HARD PASS. I recommend you do too. read more

There's never a time I don't have to wait for at least 15 minutes, even with only 1 person in line ahead of me. It's mind-boggling. I came here to pick up some photos i ordered through the app. I called in to see if they were ready because i forgot to put in a coupon on the app and was wondering if it could be applied in store. I called and i was being transferred back and forth for at least twenty minutes, the time it took me to walk to the store. Once i got there, I waited in line behind a gentleman that was also picking up photos. There was a lady behind the photo counter that was just standing there, not acknowledging us at all. She finally came after the gentleman asked for help. When she was done with that, she asked for my Last name and i gave it to her, also telling her i needed passport pictures. My order was still being printed. So she just left. I thought she was going to do my passport picture while waiting but she left. She was very rude and unprofessional. I finally got help from another lady, that sadly i forgot her name, but she helped me with my order and did proved me with the coupon! She was the only reason for the one star! I absolutely dislike this Walgreens very much. The staff is SLOW and please don't bother to ask questions/seek help? They NEVER know the answer. I sent some pictures for pick-up and it was awful. The person who I believe was the manager asked me several times for the name..which was irritating. After he finds the pictures, instead of handing them to me, or ringing up my order, this dummy just walks away with them in his hands. I continued to stand there not knowing what in the world am I suppose to do. As he was going to get some change for another clerk I stopped him and asked "what about my pictures?" With the dumbest look on his face he said "Oh sorry about that". Not sure if he was just not the smartes, stupid, or responding to some form of internal stimuli. Will not visit this walgreens again unless it is absolutely necessary. read more
