This is the drugstore that I used to pick up my prescriptions. Never had any problems. I've only had to pick things up 3 times. I usually find everything I need and more when I go inside. I was not notified that this pharmacy had run out of a vaccine on Thursday in advance of my Sunday appointment until I checked in at the store. Pharmacist and Tech were polite and offered to reschedule to a weekday, but by not cancelling my appointment or notifying me of a problem they knew of at least 48 hours in advance, they made it so I couldn't make alternate plans to receive this immunization in the limited free window I had to schedule it. read more

This applies to a couple other Walgreens pharmacies as well. My cat has diabetes. She was prescribed a Freestyle Libre, a glucose monitor, by her vet. This is usually for humans, but my vet said it works well for cats too. It's a valid prescription written by a medical professional. This still seemed to be overwhelmingly confusing for the pharmacy staff and I had to go back and forth for almost two weeks before they would fill the prescription. They gave me a defective sensor. It was broken from the manufacturer, which we found out at the vets office while my cat was there to undergo her procedure. My vet told me to go "exchange" the defective sensor for a non-defective sensor at this location. Simple right? When you buy something defective, you go and get a replacement, in and out right? I had the broken sensor with me and my receipt. My vet spoke to this pharmacy in front of me where I overheard the plan - go to this pharmacy and walk out with a non-defective, exchanged sensor. The older blonde female pharmacist was in a bad mood when I walked in. I said I was there to exchange the sensor. She paused and then with an attitude asked what I was talking about. She said the vet never said I had a defective sensor and that I would have to pay for a new one. These sensors are almost $100. I declined to do so citing that this was defective when it was given to me by a Walgreens pharmacy. I was confused at why she had such an attitude and why I couldn't simply exchange a broken product for a working product. I expressed my confusion. I am small and look young - she must have thought I was a child because she started speaking to me caricaturely slowly, over enunciating, and asking condescendingly if I understood what was going on. I said no I don't because I'm being told very different things and it doesn't make sense to me that I can't exchange an obviously defective product. She condescendingly asked if I wanted her to call the manufacturer. I said yes and she said they probably won't answer because it's the weekend. What do you know, they answered immediately. She could have done this before I picked up the prescription or offered it immediately when I walked in since that is part of her job. I was clearly distressed as my cat was currently at the vet waiting for me to bring back a working sensor so they could continue with the procedure. This woman has no business being in this profession due to her incredibly off putting, rude and dismissive attitude. I am a 29 year old woman, never in my life has anyone spoken to me like I'm an inferior being. This woman clearly has emotional issues as she was in a bad mood when I walked in and clearly needed someone to take it out on. She could have calmly explained the correct procedure if my vet was incorrect. She could have showed empathy as I was clearly upset at being denied the medical sensor I needed at that moment in order to continue with a procedure that was already in progress. She acted as if I were beneath her and not worth her time. I don't accept bitter and hostile energy from someone who is in a healing profession and should have learned basic human interaction skills. I come here for my medicine and the pharmacy team is solid but I had a real issue with the store today. They were doing construction at the cash wrap. They were doing work that clearly could have been done somewhere else. They were using a skill saw in the front of the store. The smell was awful but the issue was the sound. Loud sounds and certain pitches can trigger seizures or massive panic attacks. I was with my 6 year old son. I don't expect that I would have to be prepared for that when going to Walgreens. It was really disappointing that they chose to do the work on the sales floor. It was lazy and a poor choice on management's behalf to allow the work to be done there Still the worst. Lines for miles. Great people but they are drowning with a lack of help. The Hispanic lady who was not in uniform said it's always terrible. They can never find the right sku/product code to ring up syringes. I timed 6 different transactions at the pharmacy. Averaging checkout time was 5.13 minutes! Most of it was caused because of lack of organization and poor management. read more

The Walgreens app does not communicate with the pharmacist, the app notifies you that your script is ready, then after driving across town and waiting in their ridiculous line, they inform me that they are out of the medication and to try back tomorrow!? Ive lived a lot of places and theres a reason why I gravitate to Walgreens as my preferred pharmacy. I dont often utilize their photo lab but I was taken aback by my experience at the S Lamar location. I've been working on this project upwards of a year. I printed out photos through the CVS App (S Lamar) and I have to say they didn't turn out nearly as well in comparison to the Walgreens prints. Even though the associate was diligently working on a custom canvas art project, he greeted me kindly and located my photos within seconds. Let me just tell you, a little customer service goes a long way. Chris was affable, kind and warm, something you rarely experience nowadays in the service industry. I got distracted while in the store and upon arriving home, realized I didnt have the photos I just "picked up". (Whoops!) I called and was immediately greeted by the staff I just interacted with; they put me on hold while they searched the store for my photo prints. When people do that without throwing overt shade at you (on the phone or otherwise), it says a lot. Anyways, I will definitely consider getting a canvas print here due to Chris's skills. What he was working on looked awesome! I have to mention Dennis, the cashier. Hes been at this WG for a while and is consistent in demeanor, helpfulness and attitude towards patrons. In a midnight trip I entered the store and was creeped out by this guy in the parking lot. It seemed like he was up to no good. I did my shopping and mentioned it to Dennis upon checking out. He was aware of the situation and took note of my concern. He actually cared so much that he followed (about 12 steps behind) me through the exit of the store...posting up to make sure there were no shenanigans happening before I got into my car. The last thing I have to say is I really love how Zach, a member of pharmacy team handles customers. This location is constantly slammed and if you think about it, people coming to the pharmacy are not the happiest or even most grateful bunch of people to deal with. Zach has always been able to handle issues w insurance, delays in refills, communicating w Drs offices, etc, with a smile on his face. I'm sure his shift is nonstop & chaotic but never once have I encountered him off his game, even at 2 mins before closing time. He really goes above & beyond and somehow manages to have a calming disposition while doing so. I really have to say the majority of the staff I've encountered here is fabulous. The shelves stay shocked. They're willing to help you locate anything and Walgreens always has great specials in their weekly ads. Happy to be part of their neighborhood. read more

If only there were zero star reviews! I picked up a prescription for my Mother at the S. Lamar Walgreens in Austin and experienced complete incompetence. This is a place I have been to many times. I have never written a review - good or bad. But this place is horrible and people need to warned. The incompetence and rudeness of the pharmacy staff is beyond description. In particular the female pharmacist deserves severe criticism. She provided incorrect information that forced me to return home and come back to the store. When I came back about 15 minutes later and she realized I was next in line, she ran away and stopped helping people check out. It was a VERY LONG line. She had no desire to help the customers. I was never offered any instructions for a NEW prescription. I stayed around waiting to speak to her about the prescription, but she would not come to the counter. This is a DERELICTION OF DUTY. She should be fired. This is not the first horrible experience WITH HER or this pharmacy. Don't waste your time here. read more

I'm very sorry to leave this negative review because I've always had OK or good experiences at this Walgreens. However, I was very disappointed with my flu shot experience. The Walgreens website asks you to make an appointment, which is what I did and got an email confirmation and text confirmation. However, when I got there, I was told they don't actually make appointments and that it would take an hour. The staff was very nice and helpful. However, I am disappointed that Walgreens makes it seem like you can schedule something when really you can't. My experience resulted in me having to spend almost an hour in Walgreens, which I wasn't planning on doing. If I had known it would've been that long, I would've just went to my doctor. I also would've worn a better mask. It seems very irresponsible to tell customers they can make an appointment and then make them wait especially during these COVID times. I have only spent more than 50 minutes in one other location--my doctor's office. If I had known, I wouldn't have taken this risk and am disappointed this happened to me. But I did get my flu shot, so that was good. And the staff was good as well. Just a bad experience. read more

1 Extremely rude pharmacy staff member (female) that was working Friday Nov 11th around noon. I was having trouble finding a pharmacy to fill my son's prescription and the entire time i was explaining the situation I was left with rude comments and frustration from this staff member. I was appalled and so upset that i considered hanging up bc i DID NOT want to give them my business after this encounter. Fortunately for them, they were the only pharmacy that could fill his medication after countless phone calls...I will not be giving Walgreens (in general) my business after this encounter. it seems that this Walgreens pharmacy is a nasty dark and hostile place. Especially if you're ill and in need of a kind gentle human to listen and to help you figure out your prescription needs. I have received the most horrific nasty customer experience from the head pharmacist at this location which made me angry and made him proceed to call the police and to refuse to fill my prescription which may have cost me harm to my health I need to do. Just because I I choose to gave him my DL instead of answering his question about my address for my privacy. It is indeed a sad day to see a professional head pharmacist behaving like an outraged bore. I proceeded to H-E-B pharmacy where I received the best treatment ever. This pharmacy is the absolute worst. Once again, I submit an online pharmacy order and receive an email confirmation. Thank hat says to pick up after10AM. I sit in a line of 7 cars at 2:30PM, get to the window and they say they have no order for me. I'm showing them the email and they say that they have no record. He says he submitted the order and it will be ready later in the evening. I say to him, so I can't wait for it? He replied no, I need to come back much later. No thanks, Walgreens. Zoe at the Pharmacy is the worst person I have ever dealt with. Don't bother getting your prescriptions filled at this location. I have had an account here for 10+ years and never had any issues up until dealing with Zoe. Withholding a prescription and offering no solution over a name mix-up, such as a G being heard as a "D". She refused to look me up by address, phone number, or birth date. Another pharmacist remedied the situation and I left with my prescription. When the automated system tried to patch me back through the pharmacy would put me back on hold without speaking to me. This happened five time in the same call. Just awful. There has always been a real issue with going to the pharmacy counter, long waits while they prioritize the drive-through, unfriendly people. When they reopened after lunch (they close a pharmacy counter in a freaking drug store for lunch????????) the line had formed by the instructional "line here" signs. Not good enough for the clerk, who scolded us that we were lined up wrong and that there were signs. Which we'd all read and thought we'd followed. The start of a bad experience. After 25 minutes of waiting and then the clerk just wandering off and not coming back, I called out asking if anyone was there. Pharmacy guy got very snarky about how busy they were. Busy because they do everything at super slow motion? Busy because they are so disorganized that they can't find anyone's prescription, and that counter service stops as they all disappear to search high and low? Or is the awful checkout woman the bottleneck? I asked for the manager (which I never do, but by now I was pissed off royally) and got told he was at lunch and did I want to disturb his lunch? By now, yes, like HELL I did. Manager was nice but all excuses. 5 people ahead of me, 30 minutes to get what I needed (which sadly is something I can only seem to find at Walgreens). I've dealt with the other pharmacies in the area, they aren't this shambolic by a long shot. Or unfriendly. Or closed for lunch (seriously, WTF??). Never again. If I could leave less than one star, I would. This is a 24-hour location but yet they would not allow me to use the restroom. It was an emergency, to which I told them this, but they still refused saying the bathrooms close at 10 pm. This was 10:15 pm. I insisted it was a medical emergency (which should have been evident by the way I was standing and walking) but they still refused. I even told them that I would not make it home and they could care less. I did, in fact, get sick on the way home. I seriously want to send them my cleaning bill. This store is clean, well-lit and organized just like any other Walgreens so I can easily find my way around. Never have enough competent staff to get in and out. Prepare +45min. of your day to pick up your "ready"prescriptions. Line or not, drive through or walk up. Staff is unapologetic, unprofessional, averages 5+hrs on refills, and "understaffed" with seven employees behind the counter. Including the woman behind the woman in the pharmacy window to the left just sitting there. This is my first yelp complaint just wish i could have got the heads up before hand theres not enough time in one day. read more

If you need a Covid test I wouldn't go here. I did the drive thru testing for my 8 year old daughter, the pharmacy tech could have cared less about being helpful. I told her I needed her to walk me through the process because I've never administered a Covid test. This Walgreens has destroyed my life... I've been to a million walgreens, Cvs's, and Heb pharmacies and they always make sure my meds are gluten free since I have celiacs disease. I had an antibiotic called in and the person that answered the phone when I was on my way to get it told me she couldn't check in it having gluten or not and that I have to call the manufacturer myself. I insisted that they always do it for me and that I was sick and driving there so couldn't at the moment. I begged and pleaded for a while and she never budged. She said they don't do that there and never have (lies bc I've gotten many meds from there). She gave me the manufacturer name and I looked it up... no where to be found so I gave up and just picked it up. Took it for a week... got sicker and sicker every day. Hair and nails started to break and my moods were a mess and I had horrible brain fog. I had itching all over my body and looked pregnant from the bloating. My life fell apart for that whole week and the week after even after stopping and my life is still a mess. Had issues with loved ones and missed out on clients, etc. My world has been a mess and I am still trying to recover. What a horrible person. I really don't want to get my meds from Walgreens anymore. What a horrible and careless person. The things that happened since then are so huge and severe that my life has taken a new trajectory and it's not looking so good. read more

Lied to me about my prescription. Twice. They didn't want to honor the coupon they printed, so they said the drug was no longer manufactured anywhere in the US. Then we asked if they could find it in other Walgreens around the country. She told me to drive to San Antonio and maybe one of the Walgreens there would have it. It is funny they had plenty at the non-coupon, more expensive price. They are liars and frauds and live to suck on sick old people. read more

I started using this pharmacy a while ago because they were open 24 hrs. They've since cut back to 8 am-midnight, which still makes it easier to pick something up in the evening. They frequently have long lines at the pharmacy, but the relatively long hours would be a nice feature if I could depend on them, but lately they've proven unreliable. Making sure people can get medications on time is a *basic function of a pharmacy*. My doctor sent in a prescription a week in advance of when I'd need it, and this Walgreens was still unable to make sure it was in stock when my previous 30 day supply ran out. One week notice should be adequate time to get restocked if you do even the most basic inventory management, but apparently that's not something that happens here, so I'm taking my business somewhere else. Don't go to this Walgreens unless you can go a few days without your prescriptions. read more

After jumping through hoops to get approval from insurance for my medication (with no help from Walgreens), I call the pharmacy, wait for 30 minutes, and someone picks up the phone and hangs up on my immediately. This was Feb 3rd at 11:30pm I needed anti HIV medication because I was exposed, and I got hung up on. If I wasn't in severe pain I would have made a trip over in person, but I can't wait when my right leg is in searing pain, and I can only lay down on one side comfortably. I cannot believe this would happen and I'd hope the person who did this gets what he deserves. (Ps: if I get some apology with no action, im calling you out.
