Unfortunately, when the pharmacist got on the phone, the tone of the conversation changed completely. I was already dealing with an injured foot and trying to figure out what I could do over the weekend. Instead of simply explaining that a prescription would be required for the boot, I felt like I was being lectured about the fact that it was the weekend and doctors wouldn't be available to write one. I was fully aware of that--that was exactly why I was calling the pharmacy to see what options I had. The issue wasn't that they couldn't provide the boot. I understand there may be rules or prescription requirements they have to follow. The issue was the tone and lack of empathy. When someone is hurt and calling for help, a little kindness and a simple explanation go a long way. I really appreciated the gentleman who first tried to assist me, but the interaction with the pharmacist was disappointing and left me feeling like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer asking for help.

The employees here are very kind and always offer to take my groceries to my car and even help me load groceries in to my trunk. As a senior citizen,I love this kindness and courtesy. I needed quite a few dairy items of course so buying everything I need to bake a cake which is a banana cake I need all the ingredients. Of course a lot of the items that I needed was in stock and I was grateful for that the only bad thing is that I needed the vanilla for this particular cake. So I went ahead and purchased vanilla extract that was higher priced which is fine with me. When I walk down the aisles I see that everything is cleaned mopped everything is orderly which is kind of rare especially in this location. But this time everything was cleaned up people were stalking the shelves and very kind staff that worked the night shift. This is one of the reasons I really like this store because it carries so much items and laundry products. Of course meat is a lot higher in this store now I do know that Randalls carries great sirloin steaks for a lot less. I nearly dropped when I heard the $50+ price, but their confidence in the product led me to try it. It's worked miracles for me, and I've told so many others that I've lost count. A few weeks later they solved another problem for me with a special formulation of magnesium prescribed by my doctor in a lower dose than I could find elsewhere (including Whole Foods Market). It was just what the doctor had ordered, and I didn't have to split pills and worry if I should have. And, to think I almost didn't go here because I'd sized them up as an overpriced, small town shop. You can pay less, and you can guess at what you need at the big box stores, but there is a value in knowledge and service. As far as pricing goes, I've actually priced the identical products at a holistic pharmacy chain in Austin and found I would've wasted the dollar or so savings in gas alone. Although I don't have any experience with their pharmacy, I understand they compound prescriptions. Last time I tried doing that with their three letter competitor, I got lost in the shuffle somewhere in San Antonio and wound up waiting 5 days for my medication. (This is a co-owned sister to the B&J Pharmacy in San Marcos, so if you're closer to that location, you can feel confident that you'll find the same products and get the same great service as at Wimberley.)

He then refused to fill my prescription because I wanted to switch to another pharmacist, he then hung up on me. What kind of pharmacist or doctor treats her patients this way after 30 days. I've done some research and they have several other complaints regarding the same issues. There's plenty of other better compound pharmacies out there to use. Don't risk yourself with this one because the pharmacist is a hothead with issues.

I grew up in a small town where bakery shops anchored each neighborhood. There were bread bakeries where the fresh baked aroma reached my nostrils long before I reached the bakery. The bread so fresh and delicious it could be eaten before I got home unless I put it away someplace where it wasn't easily reached. Then the famous Pine Street Bakery right in the middle of my paper route where I could always negotiate the cost of delivery for a sweet juicy wonderful morsel of baked goods. And so I was spoiled and fattened with such pastries, pies, desserts. Succulent Danish pastry, fresh baked pies, and cakes that made Mom cry. So today I do my best to find anything to take home for dessert. On my recent trip to HEB I stopped at the bakery noticing a top shelf of baked goods sold under an upscale sounding label. Something a bit above the rest. So for $14.98 I purchased the Banana Creme Pie with Bischoff Cookie Pieces. I always love a god Banana Cream Pie loaded with banana in cream. I really thought that it would have bananas. But no! The listing of ingredients showed a banana puree after the first twelve chemicals used to create this illusion. The rest of the fifty ingredients only served to preserve this chemical creation in perpetuity. Stupidly I didn't't just stop with the pie as two cake slices stood out begging me to purchase them. A Birthday Confetti Cake and a Lemon Mouse Cake with each slice costing $7.99 I felt quite proud to be bringing home something nice for dessert. Like the pie (?) before them these chemical concoctions ended up in the garbage disposal. When the goods behind the counter are all the result of chemical concoctions and frosting illusions there is nothing real about HEB Bakery. Are there real bakeries using real ingredients, (non-artificial, non-chemical ingredients) in the Austin area? I need a good fix.
