I had some problems with the ladies behind the pharmacy. They have been condescending, aggressive and downright rude on several occasions. Unfortunately I will have to take my pharmacy business elsewhere. The main store however is very well run. I made a call to the corporate customer service line about my terrible pharmacy experience. Within hours I was contacted by the Wells Branch store manager, Leon, who listened and seemed to be very receptive. He apologized on behalf of the pharmacy and recognized that my experience was not ideal. I appreciate how much he cares for his store and how much he wants it to succeed. He mentioned something about looking for excellence in customer service from the front of the store to the back and I could tell he meant every word he said. If you have any problems with the pharmacy, I recommend that you let the corporate offices know. I have faith that if enough people make their concerns heard they will fix the problem. read more

I called about some prescriptions that were held up. The guy who spoke to me was rude, condescending and wouldn't give me the price without insurance, only saying it was very expensive. I think I'll transfer to a pharmacy who will take the time and be courteous with a long-time (over 20 year) customer. read more

Have been trying to understand why my monthly birth control prescription has Still Not been filled since 7/22. Well, I finally asked a friend who works at different location to check on it for me. Because I keep being told it will fill when insurance ready. Well come to find out the Auto Fill function had not carried over from the previous script to this new one. So of Course it's Not going to be filled when Ins ready time because it was never put back on Auto Order with the new script. read more

Decent pharmacy for routine prescriptions. Used the drive-through for a refill recently. Not "zoom zoom" but with one car ahead of me, only waited about four minutes. And then it took about 4 minutes to get the prescription. read more

Walgreens - Waiting in the drive through - Drugstores Near Me - Austin, Texas

I go here because it's super close, yet I have been let down many times. I tried to fill my prescription a few times, but they kept pushing it off saying, "It will be in 2 days". Two days later, "we have to order it". Another 24 hours, "we have to get it from another store". People giving false information is dishonest. Doing so when they knew or should have known it was untrue, is called lying. It's also called unprofessional. I have left Walgreens multiple times extremely worked up and wanting to call the state licensure board. It is NOT okay to treat your customers like they are bothering you. You are not the only pharmacy and there are 4 other pharmacies in walking distance. Stop lying to your customers. I have had times where I'm told my prescriptions will be ready in 24 hours. At exactly 24 hours and 3 minutes, I was told they are out of my medicine. MULTIPLE TIMES. At this point, your employees are liars, until proven otherwise. At least expecting to be lied to is less irritating than when I rely on the "misinformation" (lies) to be true. read more

I live within walking distance so I use them for my pharmacy. The pharmaceutical staff is Horrible!!! RUDE, and the pharmacist always puts a hold on my meds due to my anti depression meds. I think she does it just just to be nasty. And on several occasions i have called to check on the status of a prescription only to be rudely told that I need to watch for text messages. I guess its too much trouble for them to talk on the phone. I am transferring all of my prescriptions to CVS. read more

I've gotten my prescriptions at this location for 23 years and I love the pharmacists, but Walgreens recently seems to have replaced the pleasant, highly competent women who worked as techs with a mean little guy who acts like doing his job is beneath him. This guy is so rude I pray he isn't working when I come to pick up my medication. His attitude was most disturbing last week. It took a full week to get my latest refill at this pharmacy. The prescription needed to be reauthorized which normally takes a day. When I didn't hear from Walgreens regarding status of this process, I called my doctor's office to ask them to expedite the prescription refill, and they said they sent in the authorization. Pharmacy techs repeatedly stated that they were seeking physician approval - and refused to look into the matter when I offered to show them communication from my doctor's office stating that they had sent the approval. Their attitude was the customer is always WRONG. After days of this nonsense, I called my insurance company to look into the issue, and they discovered that the pharmacy had submitted a claim to them for filling the prescription, without having done so. (Which I have to wonder if that's insurance fraud). The insurance customer service representative had to call the Walgreens to break the deadlock. This was on day four, 2 days after I ran out of medication. They promised to have the RX ready within 3 hours. THEN the pharmacy lost power and closed, unscheduled, for several hours. No way to contact them. When I finally got to the pharmacy counter to pick up my medication, and mentioned that they had messed up, the dreadful pharmacy tech came unglued, asking the pharmacist to do his job (She was busy doing her job). Walgreens, if you are reading this, it's the bald guy. read more

I give it a star because I have to. Walgreens on wells branch and mopac is the worst. you never get your pills on time, they fight with you when the Doc puts early release. I had one nasty lady who says she's the manager actually call my Doctor and told her she couldn't fill it because it was to early. One girl said ok she will fill it and the other lady said no. she told me they didn't have they pills which was a lie because the girl already said she would fill it. they are very rude especially the bald guy who works in the pharmacy. I have so many bad things to say about them there's not enough space. why do I keep going there? I'm handicapped and can't drive. it's close to my house so I send my son there who does not put up with there condescending bullshit. do not go here. go down the street to heb or cvs. I've started switching to Heb. I have 15 to transfer. read more

This is my neighborhood Walgreens and I love it. The pharmacy people can be a little rude at times but, I think it's because they are short staffed. The store is always neat and the front cashiers, when they are available, are always nice lol. read more

If it weren't for the pharmacy staff at this particular Walgreens, I would give this place 5 stars. The store itself is nice. The store employees are friendly and helpful. The photo center is fast and reasonable. It's closer and more convenient than the big boxes and comparable price-wise if you wait for sales or use their many coupons. They have a wide variety of stuff here from OTC meds, to cosmetics and skin care, to dog beds and treats, to food and wine, to holiday goodies. However, the pharmacy staff are rude and incompetent. I finally transferred my Walgreens rx business to the Round Rock location or HEB. As long as I don't have to deal with the pharmacy staff, this place is great. read more

This place never has my prescription and they just hung up on me after waiting 15 minutes on hold. It's a nightmare working with them.

Typical Walgreens but..... The pharmacy could use some work. There is a tech that has been rude to my wife and me multiple times. The pharmacist is very nice and timely. Last time I was in there: what are you here for? I need to pick up a prescription. the young lady was so annoyed that I used the wrong language, Ishould have said fill a Rx. I went to the restroom while i was waiting and there was a mop bucket with black water... gross! I was like hmmm what else is filthy in this place? When i went to the counter the tech tossed my script on the counter and waled off to grab her phone... responded to a text then came back over. I have had similiar interaction with her muliple times. We actually just transferred our Rx to a different location farther from our house. Other than the pharmacy everyone else has been great! Flats beer is sold her! read more

I love the discounts you get here and they are very organized. They seem customer friendly well not all smiles perky but they are nice in a polite way. I regularly just come by to get an Arizona iced tea and bags of chips so I can't say anything about the pharmacy. read more

Every single interaction I've had with the pharmacist and pharmacy staff at this location has been negative. I've considered stopping taking my medication just to avoid the hassle, condescending tones, and absolute lack of sympathy. The pharmacist is so rude and has put my prescription back after 4 days on two separate occurrences despite me saying I'd be there to pick it up within the 7 days. They're always so rude, never accommodating, and generally lack the basic compassion that people in healthcare should. That's all I'm going to say. read more

The Pharmacy team is excellent at this location! They are prompt and courteous, and they have a follow up call to ensure you are informed about your medication. read more

I LOVE the pharmacists here. The always smile, remember my name and are quick to please. For the most part the support staff is great too. They offer my dogs treats at the drive in and smile. There is one particular tech that rubs me the wrong way every time I see her. I roll my eyes at her overbearing corpulence and snippy attitude. One of these days I am going to ask her why she is such a miserable bag of bile. Otherwise I do not allow her to ruin my experience and I enjoy my neighborhood pharmacy. read more

I love going to this pharmacy more so for the sweet staff than any other reason. There is an older lady at the front register and a fairly new African American who wears her hair natural and curly in an afro that I absolutely love. They perhaps know me because I hit up their clearance at least once a week! :) read more

Very helpful pharmacy staff! Ummm, no ATM however... Other than that's it's a walgreens, 4 star cause of helpful pharmacy staff, though

Staff is nice except for the pharmacist, who is mean and wrong about a lot of things she says. Sometimes the staff will give you dog biscuits in the drive-through if they see a dog in the car. read more

Are you tired of polite pharmacists that simply fill your prescriptions on time and send you on your way happily? BORING! If you like your prescriptions inaccurately filled by lazy staff that compensate for their incompetence with rudeness and insults, this is the pharmacy for you! This is the closest pharmacy to our house, and my wife and I have been using them for prescriptions for the past three years. After three years of consistent abuse, we are finally done with this pharmacy. The store is good, and the retail staff are great, but sadly they have employed the worst pharmacy staff in Austin. The pharmacy staff do appear intelligent; unfortunately, they hate humans. If at least they were efficient and provided a consistently good service (like a decent vending machine), their rudeness would be tolerable from the safety of the drive-through, but they do make mistakes in our prescriptions about half of the time. Mistakes aren't the problem though. Rather, it is the arrogant, insulting attitude of the staff that have motivated me to write this review. Last night they made my pregnant wife cry when they rudely denied to fill her prescription (by mistake) after promising over the phone to have ready at that time. The pharmacist said they hadn't filled it like they said they would "because of insurance," and my wife would never get the prescription her doctor ordered. Also, they said it was her fault somehow. Good thing the Walgreens on 620 happily filled the exact same prescription this morning with no problems. To be clear, I also usually feel like crying when I leave the Wells Branch Walgreens pharmacy, but when it actually happened to my wife (and for no reason), that was the last straw. As a side note, the HEB pharmacy at Mopac and Parmer is great! read more

I see unfavorable reviews and notice how old they are - something must have changed at the Walgreens Rx because these folks do a great job with kindness and heart. I have had insurance run-ins that the staff has overcome, and my emotional days they have handled with grace and compassion. I am grateful for Sarah and the others. Kudos and hugs. read more

Like other reviews, this pharmacy is the worst. They are rude and make you feel like an inconvenience. I've now had three bad experiences with them. Walgreens is a great brand and I've always had good service at other locations. Save yourself some grief and pick a different location from the start! read more

The pharmacy is good except that the wait time to be waited on can be extremely long particularly at the drive thru. The pharmacy staff is helpful and friendly. They fill rx's in a timely manner. Refills requested on their website can fail to be refilled. The pharmacy staff says they were not notified of the request. When that happens they expedite the refill. The store location is horrible. Getting out of the parking lot onto to west bound Slaughter Lane or south bound Manchaca Road is almost impossible because of the traffic on both roads. The merchandise in the store is far more expensive than HEB or Walmart. Even sales merchandise is not competitive with other stores regular prices. read more

Once again, I am promising myself not to go back to the Wells Branch pharmacy. Today, when I turned in my order, saying I would wait she promised she would page. Instead, she put them in the bin and walked right by me while I was sitting there waiting in their waiting area. When I finally walked up and asked if my order was ready, the gal got it out of a bin and said nothing when I said I had not heard any page. The last time I promised myself I wouldn't go back was when the manager treated me in a very detached manner as if I was bothering her when I asked her a question. From now on I will drive to Pflugervills. What a difference. They call me by name, ask me how my husband is doing even though they are three times as busy they apologize for any wait time and are grateful for our business. That is how to treat a customer. read more

I'm not one to go on Yelp and write bad reviews. I'd much prefer to go spread the positive on local businesses. However, the pharmacy at this particular location is absolutely terrible. I can say this having been a customer of this pharmacy of over a year due to the very convenient location in relation to where I live. First off, the techs for the most part are quite rude. I understand that they are overworked and understaffed, as I come from a customer service background myself, but there have been several instances where they have incorrectly refilled my prescription and claimed that it was the fault of my Dr.'s office, which simply isn't true as I was sitting by watching the prescription refill request go out to them. When I stated this, I was responded to rudely. I am currently on a prescription for a generic brand of Isotreonin. If anyone has any experience with this medicine, they know it's a very long and frustrating process to obtain it. It requires bloodwork once a month, a physical visit to your dermatologist and an online test that you must take in order to even obtain a refill. Once the approval is obtained, you only have a short window in order to pick up the refill before you have to start the process all over again. It's even more frustrating when you show up to your pharmacy with refill request in hand and you're told that they have to order that particular brand. Then, when you're told to stop in the next day and they still don't have it, you're basically SOL. I was told when I showed up and they still didn't have my refill that it was "being shipped, they didn't know when it would get there, that they would call me the next day to check-in but it should be in tomorrow". Another day passes, no phone call, I have to call them and be told that they're still waiting. I stop in the following day after not hearing from them, I'm given half of my order but told to come back for the rest the next day. That's 4 trips to Walgreen's in a one week span. Man, I wished Walgreen's reimbursed for mileage. Why didn't you just switch pharmacies, you ask? Well, I did. I stayed within the Walgreen's chain to see if it was genuinely this bad everywhere else. It's not. I was able to easily pick up my refills for the same medication from a location very close to my dr's office with no issues the next two months. After a two month hiatus, I went in for my final refill and decided to use this branch one last time because I didn't have time during that day to pick-up from the location close to my dr (central austin) and figured it would be easier to pick it up from the location close to my house. I was wrong. I called ahead this time to ensure that they would have the correct dosage and the correct generic on-hand before I drove in. I showed up to get it and giving them the benefit of the doubt, I assumed that the correct mg dosage was included in the bag that the tech handed me. I got home and realized it was not. I was missing a couple of boxes. I called immediately after this and was told (quite rudely) that my dr had not called in the specific amount that I was told earlier in the day they had ready for me. I spent the next couple of days playing phone tag with my dr's office trying to have them directly call the pharmacy and tell them that they were wrong and that was correctly called in (which is was...i saw it happen). Finally, I get a call from Walgreen's today... the last day I can get my prescription without starting the whole, expensive process over again and I'm told that the only store in town that has that brand and that dosage available is the location on Slaughter and Manchaca.... about a 30 minute drive from my house normally and most likely a 45 minute drive in post-work traffic today. Let me say, I am just thrilled to go on that trek again. I have two other scripts at this pharmacy that I have had no issues with, but that being said, after the lack of communication, bad customer service and run-around that I have been given at this pharmacy... my business will be going to another pharmacy chain completely. See ya later Walgreen's, I won't miss ya. UPDATE: after switching my script to HEB in Round Rock (AMAZING customer service, BTW), I had to have HEB call the Slaughter/Manchaca Walgreen's to cancel my iPledge confirmation which allows me to pick up the prescription from only one pharmacy. The HEB pharmacy tech told me that the Walgreen's in Wells Branch told the Slaughter/Manchaca location that I chose to pick up my script from them, meanwhile, telling me that was the only location in town (across town, 30 minutes from my house) that had it. The HEB pharmacist was shocked that Walgreen's didn't ask me, the customer, if it would be okay with me if they switched it to that location. Apparently, HEB pharmacies are required to ask consent of the customer before switching their script to another location. Another reason why my business will now be going to HEB. read more

The other reviews about the horrible pharmacy staff (and the tech in particular) were dead on. I needed to pick up 60 allergy pills. I gave them 5 days to fill the order. In the tech's defense, she called me to say they were out of the 30 count boxes. I missed the call. When I went in to pick up the order, she said "we don't have the 2 - 30 count boxes you need so we can't fill it." I said "well, just give me 3 of the 20 count boxes behind you." She said she couldn't do that and and that "it wasn't her fault that I didn't answer my phone." At that point I said "its not my fault you don't have 30 count boxes in stock. Just give me 3 of the 20 count. I need to leave with 60 pills and I don't care how they're packaged." She said she would have to charge me significantly more for that and told me to go to another store. Basically, she just provided me with the best advice I can give you. Go to another store. My wife went in the next day and the tech told her they wouldn't take our insurance. My wife said her husband was in the day before and it wasn't mentioned. The tech simply said "Yeah, I know who your husband is." and insisted our insurance wasn't accepted. Fortunately there's a Walgreens in Round Rock with competent friendly employees that we now go to. read more

The pharmacy staff is extremely unhelpful. My doctor prescribed an over the counter supplement, she even gave me a brand name to go look for. This was for a pretty serious lack of b-12 and iron anemia. They don't carry the brand my doctor told me to get. Both the tech and the pharmacist were not real interested in helping me find a comparable brand or product. The just pointed to where the iron supplements were. So after 15 minutes of standing there reading the labels trying to figure out what I needed (I still don't know if I got the right thing) I hear the tech very loudly say ...."I think you are about to have answer more questions for her". Then as I started to leave the area I hear, oh good never mind. Really?!?! Heaven forbid you as a pharmacist answer a question about a medication. I was then reminded why I switched all our rx to HEB. They are wonderful, next time I will go there even though Walgreens is closer to my house. read more

Walgreens is one of those places you go to out of desperate necessity. Admittedly it's the closest place with a bathroom near the train stop, but it's also where I go when I *need* dry shampoo, pony tail holders, and a liter of Diet Coke. It's usually pretty unremarkable, but today I had some pretty outstanding customer service, and wanted to give credit where it's due. The person that checked me out in cosmetics at about 9:02 this morning (I'm terrible with names) was really good at her job, which I'm sure is not the most exciting job in the world at times. I was immediately greeted and offered help upon entering, and in a genuinely nice way. She didn't bother me, but when I realized I wanted to know where the shoe polish was, she walked me to it despite her arms being full of products that I assume she was about to stock. She even rummaged with me to find the right color since they were pretty disorganized on the shelf. I didn't buy the how polish, but I did buy the Cinderella blue bail polish, and she gave just the right amount of small talk throughout the transaction. That's saying a lot, because I tend to hate small talk. So, all this to say, great job at reading the customer, and being there when I needed help without being over the top, and also sounding sincere. read more
