Recently, I started shopping at Walgreens again for my HABA needs (HABA is Health and Beauty Aids). But on a Tuesday evening, I went in this Walgreens for milk and ice cream. First thing I noticed.....there's no carts or shopping baskets. I looked around and didn't see any. I asked the cashier, and she said if you don't see any, then there must be none. She said I have to carry things in my hands. You know, that limits how much I can buy, and lowers the store's sales. I found my jug of milk and ice cream. I stood in line, and a customer ahead of me had the only shopping basket in the store. The thoughtful cashier offered it to me, so I could buy more stuff. This has been a very painful process switching pharmacies to Walgreens. They never seem to have my prescriptions ready when they say they are and they give me wrong dates. And then when they are ready to pick up, they don't have them ready. I've gotta sit around in the lobby and wait for them to fill it. If I knew it was gonna be this terrible. The Cashier today was rude. She did not acknowledge me as a customer, spent most of her time yelling down the aisle talking to a floor person about recycling returns. When she got to ringing up my items she did not even provide the total until I asked. When I made the statement that it would be helpful to focus on the customer, she just pushed my items towards me and whispered "dick head" under her breath. For medication with a co pay this is not a good selection. Their prices are crazy high and CVS or Safeway are much cheaper on average. For medicine with $0 copay this is a great place because it's clean and organized with professionals working in it. read more

I was so happy to move to this pharmacy, the gentleman I spoke to was lovely and so helpful. This week is a revisit to why I hate the Walgreens at South shore. So 100% don't bother with this place either. No one deserves to be given a lecture about how they're wrong by the same person who was the one to solve the medication issue literally a week ago. I basically use this location for the pharmacy, which I had to switch to when my usual pharmacy closed. In person, they're fine, though it's clear the store is understaffed and employees are overworked. I don't have a problem with the workers, just a problem with how the store is run. I tried calling the pharmacy 4x in 48 hours and was put on hold for 30 min each time to the most obnoxious hold music on the planet only to be hung up on each time. I needed a presciption refilled and was unable to do so through the app or the automated phone system. Thus, the only option I had left was to drive to the store to request a refill in person to be told that I'd have to come back in a couple hours. Something that should have been easily done over the phone so I'm not driving back and forth. The existence of an efficient pharmacy is as plausible as one of an efficient DMV. read more

Store is well stocked and the aisles are clean I noticed that many items are "locked up" to prevent stealing more so than most other Walgreens..... and it is off putting for me to even attempt to purchase one of those items since it takes a while for an employee to unlock the item.. I'm lowering the rating to three stars. There have been several times in the past, and including this evening (March 1, 2022), that no shopping carts and baskets on wheels were available for my shopping needs. I asked an employee what happened to the carts and baskets; to which he replied there were none. What?!? Okay, I purchased what I needed, but the load was getting heavy in my hands. I told another employee I was putting the items in my tote bag and I don't want management of the store to think that I have come in to shoplift. That's not my style to do a five finger discount. My mama taught me better. When I got to the checkout stand, I had to pull everything out of the bag for scanning, only to place the items back in my bag after I have paid. Walgreen's needs to do better and have the carts and baskets available for us senior citizens to do our shopping. I thought I was going to get some vitamins. They have their vitamins locked in their cabinets. Nix it on those vitamins until another time. I am also noticing more items are under lock and key, air fresheners and Prilosec. I know why. I stopped by here in order to buy nasal strips. It took a while but I eventually found them near the allergy med sections. When I went to the line, there were a few people ahead of me and the line moved faster. However, right after scanning my item, the store associate reached over and tapped through the payment screens before I had a chance to type in my phone number. I was puzzled by this but assumed there was some reason for it, so I just went ahead and paid with my card, but then I asked "so do I not get any rewards for this?" since I'm used to either getting to type in my number or the associate asking me if I was a member. However, this time the associate just said "Well, you didn't enter your phone number. The transaction already went through" and then shrugged and stared at me, as though it were my fault when they were the one who went and clicked through the screens without asking me or letting me read and select my own response. The printer was also broken so I couldn't get a receipt. Very strange interaction overall and did not leave a good impression. read more

5 stars for Jaymar at the pharmacy counter. I've had less than acceptable service at this same pharmacy from a female who I won't name (8 days ago). She wasted my time, gas money to come back, and sent me on an unnecessary wild goose chase. Returned this evening, and Jaymar said he thought he could handle it right there, and...get this...he did. This location used to be my favorite store. I'm not too sure of that anymore. Every time I come here, they're always understaffed with what seems like it's just one person working. Two employees max. When attempting to grab a few items and pay under five minutes, it will be impossible. It's only one person at the register and the line moves so slow. Their selection of products are ok. Some are reasonable while others, the stock is limited and I can never get everything that I come in for. Customer service has also gone down here. They don't greet you even if you say hi to them. When wanting to ask for help, you don't get the help right away like before. You'd have to wait. They have a private lot. Though quite limited, it's usually fairly easy to find parking. read more

At first, supervisor refused to match pricing with Walgreen.com So I returned the patch I just bought second ago and placed an online pick up order before I received my refund recipes. Then the man had me stand in front of his store for 30 mins to just to fulfill two nicotine patch order. And those bad boys are just behind the counter. - Oh, I also forgot to say the first Walgreens I went today literally decided to close 10 mins early for whatever reason. The pharmacy manager Peter Kim refused to fill prescriptions after surgery. When the surgeons assistant tried multiple times to give him information that he requested. He used disparaging comments continued to make excuses and stated "to bad your patient won't have his medicine.". The claims adjustor for the insurance called and he continued to put her on hold for over 30 minutes. He once again was rude and spoke down to the adjustor, She gave him all the info and continued to refuse filling the prescription. A complaint to the manager of the store was made. The female pharmacist in the back with a power complex. I am going into surgery in 2 days, I had a minor operation today and my Doctor from UCSF sent in a pain prescription. The pharmacist saw my prescription and took it upon herself to tell me "how I should be taking my medication" despite the intensive conversations I just had with my doctor today. So after some back and forth in the drive thru window I got my head nurse from UCSF to call them and fix it. She called me back and apologized because she also has not dealt with a lady such as INGA. Idk what her issue is. She was refusing to give me my medication until tomorrow. Its 4pm. I dont understand how waiting less than 24 hours to get the same pills turned her panties into a bunch but here we are. There was a nice gentlemen in the window who gave me her name and was not looking to power trip my doctor. I hope Inga is fired. I have been coming here for 2 years and never had an issue at the pharmacy until today. I am in intense pain and she took it upon herself to see that I had an Inga shaped obstacle to my relief. I always get good service here on the floor and at the register. I especially get good service from the pharmacist and the pharmacy techs who work here. Special shout out to them: Thank you! However, I'm waiting longer and longer at the pharmacy inside and outside in my car at the drive through because the pharmacy is short staffed. This is a minor inconvenience for me, but must be a real hardship for elderly folks and people who are feeling sick already waiting for as long as 20-25" for thier medications. I can confidently say, without exaggeration, that this is the slowest Walgreens pharmacy on planet earth.

WALGREENS on WEBSTER ST. For people who prefer one-stop shopping, what is conveniently located near this Walgreens is Taco Bell, Jack-in-the-Box, Peet's Coffee, FedEx office, and a large area for jogging and biking called, Jean Sweeney Open Space Park. Typically, I spend $100 every other month at Walgreens for printing photographs. I get nearly all of my photos printed at 8 inches x 10 inches. To date, I've gotten photos printed at Walgreens on Webster St., Walgreens at Southshore Center in Alameda, and at Walgreens on Manor Blvd. in San Leandro. Every few months, the device that accepts your flash drive and reads the jpeg files is out of order, and that is why I needed to get my photos done at various Walgreens locations. The clerks at the photography counters are always knowledgeable, when I need guidance for using the device that accepts the flash drive and reads the jpeg files. Also, the clerks told me about the daily photo-discount that is available at Walgreens and, it was my understanding that the discount code changes from day to day. ATTACHED PHOTOGRAPHS. In the past few months, I've done photography at Maple Canyon in Hayward, Selby Trail in Tilden Park, Pioneer Tree Trail in Marin County, Alviso Marina County Park in San Jose, and New Chicago Marsh Trail in San Jose. As a result, I've done about $600 worth of business at Walgreens in the past year, getting 8 X 10 inch prints. Attached here are a few of my photographs from my most recent visits, which were at Maple Canyon in Hayward and at Pioneer Tree Trail in Samuel Taylor Park. WALGREENS COMES TO THE RESCUE. Most recently, I bought a tube of Hydrocortisone Cream from Walgreens and the reason was that I got poison ivy on both arms while exploring Pioneer Tree Trail in Samuel Taylor Park. I pushed myself through the bushes and walked downhill by about ten feet in order to photograph a beautiful design in a nearby redwood tree, where the design consisted of tall black-colored columns (areas charred from fire), where healthy reddish wood resided in between the tall black columns. After five days of applying the hydrocortisone, the little red spots from the poison ivy disappeared. OTHER CONSUMER GOODS. Off-street parking is available next to the Webster Street Walgreens and, once inside, shoppers will encounter a half-dozen aisles. I went from aisle to aisle, and took notes on what was for sale. The first aisle has rouge, lipstick, sun tan lotion, acne medicine, shavers for men, and electric hair curlers and hair driers. The next aisle had diapers (Pampers, Huggies), birth control things, Maxi pads, Tampons, Tampax, and things for babies (binkies, apple sauce, oatmeal, sweet potato sauce). Moving on to the next aisle, I found greeting cards, holiday cards, gift wrapping paper, ribbons for attaching to gift packages, and so on. The next aisle had candy (M & M's, Mike & Ike, Sour Patch Candy, instant soup, many kinds of chocolates), shower curtains, sponges, flashlights, detergents, insect spray, and other cleaning products (Mr. Clean, Windex, Clorox, Lysol pads). The next aisle had more candy, vitamins, Valentine's Day candies, cat food, soccer balls, eye glasses, and the next aisle had school supplies (notebooks and pens), electric food blenders, paper towels, and so on. I ordered a new MacBook Pro ($2,400) set to ship to my home. I was alerted that the package was redirected to the FedEx at Walgreens on Otis. We did not initiate the redirect and confirmed that Apple didn't either. When I went to pick it up, they couldn't find it. My FedEx tracking information said it had been signed for with my first initial and last name just a couple hours before I arrived. The acting manager went back to look at the security footage and saw a guy come in at the time it was signed for and he took the package. He showed me a photo of the footage it showed that the Walgreens employee at the time looked at an ID from the guy and then handed him the package. They questioned the employee and she said his ID said my exact name and that she doesn't know the guy (of course, they have to take her word as the security footage can't make out the text on an ID). I don't buy it. The odds of that guy knowing to walk into that store and ask to pick up a MacBook package with my exact name on it at that exact time is impossible to be a coincidence. And even if there were two people with my exact name that both happened to order MacBooks that happened to each be sitting at that location at the same time, there would have been another one when I went in. We believe she is calling a friend when a high-value package shows up in their (unbelievably disheveled) holding area, gives him the name on the package to say when he comes in, then as long as he presents any ID, it appears on security footage that she did her job. Then he walks out and they split the sale of the stolen goods later. That part of the scam feels fairly clear. The part that's a bit odd is why FedEx rerouted my package when neither the sender (Apple) nor recipient (me) initiated it. Note: we asked for details of the redirect origin and they would only release the last 4 digits of the phone number, which we, of course, didn't recognize. We wonder whether someone working at FedEx is also in on the operation who has both visibility into packages coming to the local area and the authority to redirect them to that location. They'd be very familiar with the labeling from well-known brand shipments like Apple and could easily call up the gal at Walgreens (presumably a friend) and coordinate the delivery time around her shift schedule. Note: the manager has all my information and still has not contacted me once, though I've emailed several times with the guy I dealt with at the store and he keeps telling me the manager will reach out. read more

The logistics and process here for the vaccine was very smooth from checking in at the entrance, filling out forms, getting vaccinated to checking out. If you shop here and pay suggested retail price for basic everyday items, you will spend a lot more $$$ than you would at somewhere like Wal-Mart or Safeway. Now, if you shop smart and take advantage of their weekly sales and in store or on package (sticker) coupons then you can save a large amount of money every visit. When it is on sale, I shop here for dish soap and detergent, as their sales prices get the cost down to right below a grocery stores suggested price and if you purchase a brand that also has a coupon attached then you can additionally save up to $1.50 more. This is also a great store to purchase smaller items like candies and snack foods, depending on brand you can purchase some candy bars and gummies for 2-3 items per $1.00, and on commonly expensive items like Macademias and Pistachios you can save $1.50-$4.00 per LB. read more

Anyway - told my doctor to send my prescription to this Walgreens since it's just up street for me. Signed up for the text alerts so that I'll know when it's ready. Waited for 4 hours and nothing. called the number provided and the automated messaging system says that its still being processed. For 4 hours? WTF?! Decided to go down there to see whats up. When I get there, the pharmacist tells me that they don't have it in stock. Again, WTF? you couldn't have, somehow . . . I don't know, let me know that you don't have my shit instead of making me wait 4 fucking hours to find out? What about folks with life-threatening conditions that they need medication for? Are you just going to be fucking flippant about not having it and not even bother informing them? Fucking aggravating. What kind of imbeciles are working there? Y'all better find a way to fix this process or replace the dumbasses working behind the counter because there's no excuse for this bullshit. In the end, I had them send it down to the Walgreens at Southshore instead. Needless to say that I'm never sending my prescriptions to that Walgreens ever again. In addition, on 2 recent visits while I was being waited on by pharmacy techs, the Pharmacist stepped in to offer advice and to ensure that I was aware of drug interactions. I just came here on a Sunday to pick up a couple things with my son and This store is completely dirty yet they do not have any restrooms available for any shoppers. I asked the girl staff with shoulder length brunette hair on the floor and she said "Oh there's no public restrooms here or restaurants are not for customers" This is completely wrong since it is a convenient store yet we shop here we can use the restroom. What if there was an emergency I know now not to return back to this specific walgreens. I have shopped a many Walgreens they always have restaurants available. Yet specifically this one only will not let you use their restroom. So I decide to pay for my items and notice how icky the floor was on the floor by the register. Walgreen pharmacies here in the East Bay are, in general, horrid customer experiences. The Chief Pharmacist here on Webster St. in Alameda leads the pack in rudeness and verbal nastiness each and every time I've encountered him. The crew takes his lead except for one young man named Jason, who is a model of proper customer service. He is polite, helpful, and explains any delays the best he is able, what with the chief pharmacist breathing over his shoulder. And when did Walgreen pharmacies stop answering phones? I stand in line and watch the clerk at the counter hear the phone ring and reach over, put it on hold without even picking up. And if you're the one on the phone--even a doctor--you sit there, on hold, forever. The longest hold time I've had without anyone picking up was 20 minutes and finally I hung up -- obviously exactly what the crew wanted. Wow -- hello? 200 Wilmot? Are you there? Particularly bad pharmacy. Held up my prescription for nearly a week, and sent me messages stating "technical errors". After several calls where I was on hold for over 15 minutes and was repeatedly disconnected, I managed to get Peter - the pharmacy manager on the phone. He told me everything was fine, they had made a code entry error and it would be ready in 45minutes. This was for an important medication that I take daily. The lack of care or consideration is astounding and he was rude on the phone. I don't mind waiting on hold, I realize it gets busy, but don't waste clients' time keeping them on hold and then hanging up on them.
