The son made several accusations and repeatedly threatened to call the police, although he never did. Another customer attempted to calm the situation down, only to have him yell at her as well. Needless to say, I walked out and will not be returning. I'm sorry to hear that the owner has passed away. I bought my wedding gown at the…read moreFilene's Basement Bridal Sale and Debbie did the rest -- she did my alterations, created a french bustle, created a custom-made veil and helped my mom with her Mother of the Bride ensemble. It took her about 6 weeks to complete the job and it all turned out perfect. The dress needed to be taken in in the front and back -- from size 12 down to 8/10 -- and hemmed. She also did a french bustle and showed my mom and bridesmaid how to pin it properly. She also steamed it and packed it so it was ready to go the day I needed to take it home. The veil Debbie made for me was ivory tulle with some beading and sequins -- she made it by hand and it was beautiful. It looked great with the dress. Not only is Debbie's work excellent, but her prices are affordable. She LOVES doing bridal work and used to do alterations for David's Bridal in Bakersfield. All of her work is through word of mouth, so please call ahead of time and tell her Brooke sent you to her, or she may be hesitant to work with you. She does do other alterations such as uniforms, jeans, etc. but her true passion is bridal. N.B. -- don't judge a book by it's cover. The location may not be ideal, but you will not be disappointed with her work.

He interrupted me as I was starting to ask my questions and he said "Just bring them down here so I can look at them." Trying not to be irritated, I laughed it off and said, "okay, I will be there shortly!" and then I get hung up on. I get here and the open sign is on, so I walk up to the door and pull on it but it's locked. So I look down and see a "closed, please come again." I go back to my car and call to see why. "I had to make an emergency run, I should be back in about 15 minutes, does that work?" I said, "I guess it's going to have to, but I did call and say I was going to be here so it's a little ridiculous that you're not here." He says, "I left a sign, I should be back at 3, did you see my closed sign?" To which I responded with, "no, as your open sign is lit." He says, "no no no, the sign below it that says I'll be back at 3:00." I'm not going to sit here and argue over professionalism, so I stated "I will be going elsewhere. This is ridiculous that your open sign is lit, you knew you'd have a potential customer, and you're incredibly unprofessional." Why would I want to pay someone who can't even switch off the open sign if it was actually an emergency run? Thanks for wasting my gas and my time.

I went to quite a few stores and even out of town to look for a wedding gown for a special occasion but I had no luck. I wanted a specific dress and no one seemed to have it or anything similar to it so when I found out about this business I gave them a call to meet up and showed one of the seamstresses what I was looking for and she stated we can make that for you. So, in about 3 weeks I had a beautiful gown made out of the material of my choice and exactly how I wanted it. If nobody has heard of them I fully give my recommendation to give them a try. They do various types of alterations and their prices are very affordable. Also, I know sometimes their phone-line is really busy so I'd suggest for a quicker response sending them an email with photos of the item you want them to fix so that way you can get a faster price quote.
