Lupe helped me and she was so sweet and helpful! They hemmed the dress to the exact length I wanted and double-checked it with me before I left to make sure it was perfect. They also took in the waist, and when I picked it up the fit was amazing. It fits me like a glove now. The turnaround time was great and communication was clear when it was ready for pickup. I have never had a worse experience with a business. My daughter is getting married , and I need my dress altered a couple of inches. I gave Joy two weeks to get it done. When I arrived to pick it up it was not done. She assured me it would be done the next day, to come in the morning. When I went on my lunch, nothing had been done to my dress at all. The wedding is this weekend. No apology from Joy, which was the worst. She is extremely disorganized, and has no customer service skills. I had some jeans hemmed. The transaction was easy. It cost $10 and they where ready in two days.

They ruined a $220 mother of the bride dress. They did it completely wrong from the start. First they put a giant exposed zipper down the side of a chiffon dress then they made it to small when they replaced the wrong zipper. Owner even said they were out of zippers so that's why they used the exposed one. 4 trips later and the dress is ruined. The last time I tried it on they had no plastic covering over it and now The material is stained. I told her I would be taking her to small claims court and she refused to give me my receipt back and refused a refund. Now I have a ruined dress and she made money off of ruining a dress. So wrong. Well I ended up calling Ladies and Gents and they saved the day. They fixed the dress and were absolutely amazing! Save yourself a major migraine and just go to ladies and gents first! read more

Great prices but I wouldn't recommend them unless you don't want to pay much or you're in a crunch. The first time I came here, I got my dress hemmed for maternity photos and the hem was scrunched and laying funny. I came again to get a jumpsuit hemmed and a side seam sewn shut because it had come undone. It took 5 days to get it back and they didn't hem it enough and the side seam wasn't even done. I had to bring it back the next day and she wouldn't correct the hem and she sewed the side seam on the spot and gave it back to me with loose threads coming out of it. When I moved into town I wasn't sure on who to go to but I gave joy a chance. Yes, I understand she doesn't speak English but she understands my needs. I have only taken jeans with her and they are always done the next day. She is in need of workers so the latest for me is 2 days. I paid $18 for 3 pairs of jeans. When I take one pair it is usually less than $10! And if you want the jeans immediately she can do that for you but of course the price rises. As to the other reviews, if you want the best of the best go to LA or another town because it is not guaranteed here in Bakersfield. She did renovate a bit and place looks much cleaner. Time is short, my time is short so if I have to comeback again to a taylor who doesn't know how to measure a proper an ideal hemming at the bottom of the pants to accommodate an ideal partial break for a clean, professional look. If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. It was recommended by a co-worker. I dropped off my dress 05/14/2022 and I advised Them I needed it done 05/20/2022. They told me it would be ready by 05/16/2022. I showed up 05/20/2022 and was told my dress would be ready next Wednesday. I let them know that I needed the dress today because the wedding is 05/21/2022. I'm not sure the owners name but she told me she could have it ready 05/21/2022 at 12:30pm, that's not going to work that's the day of the wedding. I asked for my dress and my money back so I could scramble to find someone to fix it. The owner advised me that she didn't have my dress that her worker took it home!!! You guys, who does this happen?!?!? After an hour of me bawling my eyes out and a whole mental break down,. They advised me they couldn't find my dress. They didn't even want offer to compensate me. At this point I advised them I would make a police report since this dress was $650, and the owner just kept apologizing. I understand thing happen and mistakes are made but you lost a $650 dress!! She just did my corset , it looked like my dress was thrown back into the dress bag that I took it in with and I did not have a ribbon for my corset . The dress was not changed to mermaid style at all . I went back to try to get it fixed and she said she couldn't do it and when I told her the ribbon wasn't in the bag one of the workers swore they put it in , she didn't fix my dress or anything . I very seldom write reviews. However; this time I can't let it go. I took a shirt to be altered with darts halfway up the back. She pinned it to fit perfectly. I needed this for an upcoming event. When I went to pick up the shirt, they had sewn it up the sides instead. By doing this it took up the front and the back and made it too tight. I had emphasize to her that she can't take up any of the front cuz I'm large chested. I had already had this issue with her in the past. She re- pinned it in the back again to make darts. When I went to pick it up another week later they couldn't find it. Finally found it and had not even been sewn. I left it there again and went back today to pick it up. Again it was sewn it incorrectly.They had extended the darts way past where they we're supposed to be which made it too freaking tight again. There is no way I can wear this. I don't have the energy and it's not worth my effort to go back yet again. Needless to say, the brand new shirt I purchased for the event that I needed it for and the price of alterations and the fuel to drive across town three times... 80 bucks down the drain. The only reason I gave this one star is because I have had a couple of shirts hammed in the past and they were fine. read more

Pretty much the worst customer service from the owner ever single time. She is mean and rude to her customers. She's very difficult to under but her abrupt, hasty, and mean tone of voice can be understood by anyone.
