Decent place in a strip mall. Not hard to miss, as they have a sign up. Plenty of parking spots in front. Inside the shop, there were lots of fabric and gowns hanging up (so that was a good sign). Wore my gown with the heels I would be wearing, and she pinned it up to the right length. $30 to get my gown hemmed. And I got it back after only three days. Tried it on at home and the length was correct. This place is definitely cheaper (given how fast they could finish the job) than my usual place on the west side, so I'll be coming back here soon to have my clothes tailored. read more

Good job for the very low price. A little bit of a language barrier. This place is great for certain things, I took some forever 21 pants that I love to get altered and got some vintage buttons installed on an old navy peacoat I got for a sweet deal. There was a thing that happened with my vintage wrap skirt where they put Velcro, which is weird, instead of the extra fabric loop I had asked for. I would not recommend this place for any designer items or anything that you are really attached to or needs a high level of detail. read more

Very good tailor!! Took on a ho hum clearance suit just to see if magic could be worked and the pieces turned out perfect. Suit jacket had sleeves that needed to shortened. Joy altered from the top to preserve the button cuffs. The dress required shortening and the darts on the front and sides to be taken in. It fits like a glove. Definitely will return for suit alterations if needed. Price for both was 77.00. A steal for a perfectly fitted jacket dress combo. And they are open later hours and on the weekend. Joy is wonderful! I came here on the recommendation of other Yelpers and I'm not disappointed. I dropped off two dresses to be hemmed and taken in. She said they would be ready in two days which worked for me. When I came for pickup they weren't quite ready yet so I came back the next day. When I took them home and tried them on I was amazed of how perfectly the dresses fit me. One dress in particular had intricate lace detailing and I was afraid it would lose the details when she hemmed it. However, that extra day she kept the dresses helped since the dress practically looks like it was made for me. She charged me $50 for both dresses which wasn't that bad considering how much other places quoted me for the lace dress. Only downside is she lives on the other side of town for me but I may make the trip when I need things altered since she is so amazing! read more

I took some pants and to have them taken up. I was told they would be done in 3 days...7 days later they still were not done. The lady barely speaks any English so it's hard to communicate what you want done. Also when I went to pick up pants, they still weren't done correctly. So I had to come back twice after that to finally pick up pants...I won't be back. read more

I'm so glad to have found a good seamstress in our side of town. They do beautiful, quality work. We had a large patch sewn on a leather jacket. The jacket liner was detached and sewn back so there are no seams on the liner. Good price and a great job! read more

I took in three pairs of jeans. She did a good job repairing one pair and she tapered the legs of the other two. Great price. I would have given 5 stars but the hem of one of the legs of the jeans was left incomplete. I recommend checking all work before leaving, no matter how fast the Counter person wants to get you out of there. :-) read more

Joy Alterations is economical and her work is impeccable! She altered both of my daughters' Winter Formal Outfits. One was a heavily embroidered and bejeweled ball gown. The other a jumpsuit that came 3 sizes too big. All work was done within two days without an expedited charge. Their alterations were tailored to fit seamlessly. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. She was hired to sew on patches to our hats and COMPLETELY destroyed them. When I argued that she bent our hats and ruined them she said "no these are perfect" ha far from perfect, more like trash! I would definitely think twice before having them sew anything on a hat. If only pictures were allowed. I would should what I mean. Angry doesn't describe what I am feeling. read more

I have been going for few years now I took my daughters jumpsuit she told me it would be done in a week I go the day she said I walk in with no ticket she went crazy on me I told her if it's not ready just say I will come later she used bad words told me to fuck off I was being nice I said please just give me jumpsuit ready or not she told me she would call the police on me I was that's fine I would wait she went crazy on me again I honestly couldn't believe what was coming out of her mouth so disappointed so I never got my jumpsuit back I will never go again no stars for this business read more

This is a good place for alterations especially basic alterations however if it is a difficult alteration they may not alter or tailor your clothes correctly. I have taken dress shirts there to get tailored and all of them have came out perfect but I took a blazer I had just purchased to get the sleeves shortened and they shortened them from the shoulder and adding slightly different color fabric to the sleeves so that they were not too tight around my biceps. When I first got the blazer back I thought. Okay I guess this is how it's done. I am not the expert. However after searching online how to shorten the sleeve on a blazer it is supposed to be done at the bottom of the sleeve and the buttons and holes should be moved up. It is a more difficult and time consuming process but it is their job to alter your clothing the right way. I recommend going here but before doing so. I suggest looking up how a tailor is supposed to do the alterations and tell her what you want done. read more
