Stopped in for a quick lunch. The waitresses were extremely nice and delivered fast service. These ramen bowls are fantastic, full of flavor, and perfect size. Will definitely be back again!

Good food service was awesome and ambience was great, prices were ok, lots of parking available around.

Oh what a delight! Great trendy spot in Chinatown that was the perfect vibes for an evening dinner. It feels like you're not even in Chinatown! The servers were so nice and attentive, and our food was brought out very quickly. It was husslin on a Monday night, and we couldn't have asked for a better time after a long day of walking. I got the Spicy Kimchi Miso Ramen, and the spicy gochujang karaage chicken. The ramen was incredibly flavorful, the pork and egg were cooked just right, and the kimchi was such a nice added ingredient for this. I loved every part of it! Parking is hard around here so recommend taking the train, as its close to South Station. Definitely a top recommendation for me!

Wooowwww We had some cold sake and pork gyozas with apple soy sauce. We stopped for a short break as we were walking around and, excuse the language, but damn. This place wins at life. The apple soy sauce? Amazing. A new level of deliciousness. We wanted to order 2 more orders for each of us but were prudent and got the heck out of there before going into a food coma. We licked it clean. Loved this place.

lack of pescatarian and vegetarian/vegan options. quite expensive for alright food. noodles and broth left me craving for more. Service was quick and the place itself was really ambient.

This place is really cute with great ambiance. I had a good vegetarian ramen, but the octopus balls were not great. Overall recommend.

I came here for lunch during my trip in Boston. It's very nice inside, the decorations are cool. The space is very small though, and it was busy when we went. We ordered their chicken and gyoza for an appetizer. I personally preferred the fried pork gyoza because of the crunchiness. Both my partner and I got the tonkotsu ramen. It was pretty good, not my favorite but it's definitely up there. The service was very quick and polite.

I've been wanting to try this place! The service was good, and everyone was very friendly. A modern aesthetic, with a decent amount of seating for the space. I thought the ramen was good, but didn't wow me. Still a solid spot to satisfy a craving!

Food: to be honest, not great. It was good the first time I had it, but this time the food felt very normal, plain. Maybe I just got unlucky this time. The ramen tasted like it came from a chain, which I know Waku Waku is, but I felt it was "just" ramen. The real disappointment was the katsu. It was a little dry and flat, but not flat in a good way. The meat felt thin and the breading wasn't very crispy. The katsu was an add-on for their combo, but it wasn't a great addition. The karaage was karaage. Not the best but still pretty good. Service: good service, no complaints. Ambiance: it's a small, somewhat tightly packed room with very low lights level. Very low. How's the feel of you going for a night out, maybe a club or something before or after. Could be a date spot, but again, it's pretty dark in there. I'm not hating on it though, more just surprised. Parking: Good luck, it's Chinatown. You can try parking at the paid lot down the street closer to Windsor Cafe and Tsaocaa.

The wait for a table is about 20 mins on a Saturday night. We got the signature ramen with pork katsu and miso tonkatsu ramen. The pork katsu was crispy and delicious. The miso tonakatsu ramen is incredibly salty. We asked for another bowl of plain broth to dilute it. The gyudon had a good beef to rice ratio and you can swap the poached egg for a smoked egg.

I love this ramen spot. We've been a few times and haven't been dissatisfied. We got the curry miso ramen and the miso tonkatsu ramen. I think the curry ramen works really well; the curry adds a complex flavor that's compensated by the noodles really well. The sliced chicken in it is always well cooked and juicy. Similarly the miso tonkatsu ramen is rich and filling, with a strong umami flavor. I didn't try the pork, but there was none left in the bowl by the time we were done! The prices are very reasonable as well, which makes it even more appealing. Service is friendly, albeit it's always very busy so be prepared to hurry; it's also a bit dark, so don't be afraid to whip it the bright phone screen. Be aware that you'll almost definitely have to wait for at least 20-30 on busy nights, but would still definitely recommend.

Such a great late night spot, GET THE SIDE OF SMOKED EGG. The vegetarian ramen here is always solid but the smoked egg stole the show. One of my favorite Chinatown spots for a group- has something for everybody. Staff is nice too.

I will note I rarely ever get ramen, so I don't have anything to base off of. That said, I am very satisfied with my experience! I got the classic miso with a side of the black fungus mushroom and it was very flavorful, the noodles soak up the broth well. The only thing is I wish there was more chicken. Otherwise my friend was happy with his vegetarian miso soup too. I would certainly come back to try other varieties! Service was very quick and friendly, and attentive to our water glasses which I appreciated so much.

It was adequately busy but still had seats open. The lunch menu is very affordable! If you can, I'd highly recommend going for lunch instead of dinner. Service was really quick! Received my meal in like 5-7 mins after ordering. Fish was super fresh and I really liked the different textures in the Hoseki Don. I also added in negitoro. They gave me a big clump of it! The second time I went back, I ordered take out so I could eat it at the airport for dinner. I ordered the Sake Maguro Hamachi don, added ikura and negitoro. Again, so impressed with the quality of the fish and the size of it. They didn't skimp out and really enjoyed the thickness of the sashimi despite it only being 3 pieces. When we walked into Legal, the place was dead, the music was awful, and the vibe was just not there. So we sat at the bar and grabbed a drink while searching for a place to get an actual dinner where we could find last-minute reservations. Shojo in Chinatown came up with great reviews and after looking at the menu and seeing that we could get a reservation, we headed over. It was a short walk from the Ritz and Chinatown is just such a fun place with great energy. When we walked in, we knew we had made the right call and were easily able to switch our reservation from a table to bar seats, which is always an added bonus. The place is low lit and the music is on the louder side, but nothing was excessive to the point that we didn't enjoy our time there. We ordered a variety of drinks while there - a Toki Highball draft, a spicy tequila drink with lemongrass, a few different types of Japanese whiskeys as well (they have a really extensive list). As far as food goes, they categorize their menu into Snacks, Baos, and Rice, Noodles, and Dumplings. There's a lot of vegetarian friendly options, which is always a plus for me. My highlights were the 7 vegetable stir fry, fried eggplant bao, edamame dumplings, and the Thai veggie spring rolls. The salt and pepper calamari was also really great. Everything was terrific and really unique. Service was good - not great, but they took notice of empty glasses and were quick to bring out food, so I have absolutely no complaints. Shojo is somewhere I'd absolutely return to when staying in the area, I'm really happy we all turned what would have been a very touristy, depressing experience into something with a WAY better vibe and time!

Looks like they have a couple of other locations in other states, 2 in WA & 1 in VA. This one is VERY SMALL... I would say only two tables that are suitable for parties of 4 & ~4-5 bar seats. The line is often pretty long here & people often are already standing in line outside half an hour to an hour before opening. Sometimes you can get away with just waiting for 5-15 minutes if you show up before opening. I personally think they make a decent bowl of ramen! They've been around for quite some time now & even with the dozens of new ramen shops popping up in Boston left & right, I'd still say they are in my top 5 in the city. I'd honestly come here more often if it wasn't for the line hahaha. I think the prices are reasonable & competitive w/ nearby shops. I like that they offer three different sizes for the ramens! Typically don't see that. I love getting the black garlic ramen, tantan ramen, & the miso ramen! But you honestly can't go wrong with any of the ramens they have. Highly recommend!

The Spicy Roasted Miso Avocado Sushi Roll was better than the roasted miso avocado sushi since the best part of the dish was the spicy crumble on top. However, the sushi was oddly sized (too big for one bite, but too small and fell apart for 2 bites). The ramen was also differently flavored. The garlic was too overpowering and the texture of the noodles to other vegetables in the dish was offputting to me. However, all the dishes were presented/plated well.
